DUQUESNE 28, #20 Youngstown State 25
Racking up a career-high 204 rushing yards — the most by an FCS player against a Division I counterpart this season — redshirt junior JaMario Clements helped Duquesne seal a thrilling 28-25 win at No. 20 Youngstown State on Saturday afternoon. The victory marked the Dukes’ second against a nationally-ranked program, and the first for an NEC squad since Merrimack defeated No. 24 Holy Cross on Sept. 11, 2021.

CENTRAL CONNECTICUT 27, SAINT FRANCIS U 20
All-NEC Preseason defensive back Kimal Clark scooped up a ball that was knocked away by linebacker Jayden Anderson and returned it 10 yards to the house with 1:45 left to play to break a 20-20 stalemate and lead Central Connecticut to a conference-opening win at Saint Francis U. The victory marked the Blue Devils’ first against the Red Flash since 2021.

ROBERT MORRIS 55, MERCYHURST 23
Robert Morris racked up 536 yards to score its first win of the season by way of a 55-23 final over visiting Mercyhurst on Saturday afternoon. Redshirt junior Anthony Chiccitt threw for a career-high five touchdowns and 307 yards for the Colonials, who jumped out to a 21-0 lead and never looked back against the newest member of the NEC.

WAGNER 30, Delaware State 7
Fueled by an impressive outing by graduate student Jake Cady, who compiled 202 passing yards, two touchdown throws and one running score in his first start for the Seahawks, Wagner led wire-to-wire to pull off a convincing 30-7 road win at Delaware State on Saturday. The win marked the program’s largest margin of victory and most efficient defensive outing since a 41-7 defeat of Robert Morris during the 2018 campaign.

Lehigh 20, LIU 17
LIU drove to the Lehigh 39 with less than two minutes left to play but was unable to put up the go-ahead score up on the board in its home opener on Saturday. EASTON, Pa. – Marist wide receiver Mohamed Diawara caught two touchdown passes, but Lafayette scored seven touchdowns in between as Marist dropped a 56-14 decision on Saturday at Fisher Stadium. Diawara’s only two receptions were both for touchdowns – an eight-yard catch from Enzo Arjona to tie the game 7-7 midway through the first quarter and a four-yard reception from Sonny Mannino to close the game’s scoring late in the fourth quarter. Lafayette’s Jamar Curtis ran for three touchdowns, and the Leopards scored three touchdowns on special teams and defense.

Presbyterian 52, Virginia-Lynchburg 0

CLINTON, S.C. – Presbyterian blanked Virginia-Lynchburg for its first shutout since 2018, a 52-0 win against Virginia-Lynchburg on Saturday at Bailey Memorial Stadium. The Blue Hose offense rolled to 448 offensive yards, while the PC defense held Virginia-Lynchburg to 78 offensive yards. Presbyterian wide receiver Nathan Levicki was the only player with a multi-TD day, with both his receptions going for touchdowns. Six players scored a touchdown, and three quarterbacks threw touchdowns for the Bue Hose.

Furman 48, Stetson 7

GREENVIEW, S.C. – Stetson broke up a shutout bid when Trip Maxwell connected with Aanjay Feliciano for an 11-yard touchdown pass with 8:28 remaining, but host Furman rolled to a 48-7 victory on Saturday at Paladin Stadium. The Paladins finished the day with a 510-244 edge in offensive yardage and forced three Stetson turnovers. Feliciano’s four-reception, 41-yard day made him one of three Stetson players with 40-plus yards – rushing or receiving – on the day.

St. Thomas 24, Black Hills State 14

ST. PAUL, Minn. – St. Thomas picked up its first win of 2023 with a 24-14 victory against Black Hills State on Saturday at O’Shaughnessy Stadium. Michael Rostberg ran for three touchdowns in the win to cap an outing that saw him pass for 72 yards and run for 15 yards. After the Tommies fell behind 7-3 early in the second quarter, Rostberg capped two scoring drives with one yard runs to give St. Thomas a 17-7 lead. Neither team scored in the second half until Rostberg’s 23-yard touchdown run with 47 seconds remaining sealed the win.

Montana 59, Morehead State 2

MISSOULA, Mont. – Morehead State had few answers for FCS Top 5 opponent Montana, dropping a 59-2 decision on Saturday at Washington-Grizzly Stadium. The Eagles were held to 45 offensive yards in the loss while allowing 576 yards to Montana. Morehead State’s Richard Sweeney III provided a highlight-reel moment with his defensive two-point conversion after the Eagles blocked a PAT kick late in the third quarter.

Indiana State 24, Dayton 13

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Two early Indiana State defensive touchdowns proved the difference as Dayton dropped a 24-13 decision on Saturday at Memorial Stadium. The first half’s only touchdowns came on Sycamores’ defensive plays: a 90-yard pick-six by Jorge Valdes in the first quarter and a 12-yard scoop-and-score by Garret Ollendieck in the second quarter. Indiana State extended its lead to 21-0 with a conventional touchdown in the third quarter courtesy of Lance Rees’ 29-yard touchdown run. Dayton would threaten in the fourth quarter, with Drew VanVleet leading two scoring drives in the quarter. VanVleet completed 26-of-40 passes for 291 yards and two touchdowns to pace the Flyers offensive outing.

Butler 53, Hanover 0

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Butler notched its first shutout win since 2010 courtesy of a 53-0 win against Hanover on Saturday at the Sellick Bowl. The Bulldogs rolled up 492 offensive yards in the victory while holding Hanover to 133 yards. Butler quarterback Nick Howard passed for two touchdowns and ran for another while finishing with 91 passing yards and 87 rushing yards. Butler wide receiver Ethan Loss caught three touchdown passes in a four-reception, 72-yard outing.

Davidson 42, Point U. 12

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Mari Adams posted the league’s first 200-yard rushing day, running for 207 yards on 19 carries with two touchdowns, and leading Davidson to a 42-12 victory against Point University on Saturday at Davidson College Stadium. Adams scored on an 11-yard run in the second quarter to give Davidson a 14-0 lead. He struck again in the third quarter on a 28-yard dash, putting the Wildcats up 28-12. His performance highlighted Davidson’s 482 rushing yards on 68 carries.

Valparaiso 20, Indiana Wesleyan 17

VALPARAISO, Ind.– Ryan Hawk’s 37-yard field goal with 5:24 remaining lifted Valparaiso to a 20-17 victory against Indiana Wesleyan on Saturday at Brown Field. The Beacons built a 17-7 halftime lead with Michael Mansaray providing a 33-yard touchdown run, Caron Tyler finding Chris Gundy with a six-yard touchdown pass, and Hawk capping the half’s scoring with a 24-yard field goal. Indiana Wesleyan rallied to tie the game with a touchdown and a field goal, but it could not fend off Valparaiso’s winning drive minutes later. Tyler ran for 115 yards on 18 carries and added 70 passing yards on eight completions.

Has Eastern Washington fallen off? That’s gotta be a nice win for SELA, at least a few years ago. I don’t know what that line was.

Well, Jerry Rice’s Alma Mater is as bad as advertised it seems.

Has Eastern Washington fallen off? That’s gotta be a nice win for SELA, at least a few years ago. I don’t know what that line was.

Well, Jerry Rice’s Alma Mater is as bad as advertised it seems.

The last few years compared to where Eastern was historically? Certainly. They used to have some special offenses and great FCS QBs. Perennial playoff team. They haven't been that for last couple years now. The offense is no longer special and the defense got bad, real bad. Some optimism before this year started. I also thought they looked like they could be on the upswing. Good opening week 1 vs Monmouth who is good offensively and EWU did some good things in that game, led by 28 at one point. Nice opener, optimism building for their season. Then they lost to Drake as a 30+ pt favorite. Non scholarship Pioneer League, Drake. Inexcusable loss at home. They were still road chalk at SLU last week - I had no idea at that point on either team and didn't bet or watch any of it. But see that SLU rushed all over them which is what the recent issue for them, no D, bad run D. They look like the same team they were last year and the year before that = not good. That fan base wants to win, they want to be good, wants to be what they once were not that long ago. EWU scored 3 points in the 2H, one FG. Think they make a head coaching change this year. Nice win for SLU though, they needed something like that.

Mississippi Valley is always bad. Problem is sometimes they still cover games despite that. Almost like teams play down to them or something. Well, Murray State showed they don't take anyone for granted that was for damn sure! 59-8! Murray did get 17 pts off turovers directly or indirectly but 200+ rushing, 200+ passing 78% 3rd down, 5 sacks, 11 TFLs, 4-for-4 in the RZ. Murray wishes they could play Valley 11x this year!

Also, very disappointed in Nichols St after last week. And as a whole really, after last week in Tiger Stadium and now this.

Here is what just came out

Maryland -23.5 vs Nova
EMU -24 vs St Fran
UMass -21 vs CCSU
Nevada -9.5 vs EWU
Pitt -24 vs Youngstown
UTSA -35.5 vs HCU
Boise -31.5 vs Portland St
Hawaii -8.5 vs UNI
Troy -27.5 vs FAMU

Jesus. I go out to dinner with my wife now I have to look at lines! I’m ready for exclusive FCS-FCS games from here out. What’s weird is I could almost formulate a better opinion on FBS teams before the season started than I can now.

Pitt off WVU. UTSA off Texas. What other situational angles are there in the FBS-FCS games?

I would bet Nova at 17 so when someone other than FD posts I'll be in on them
They have played 3, either full or partial under performing games. Their team has not gelled yet. Not sure if dynamics on Maryland

Portland St canceled last week. Whooping cough running through team. Canceled day of game. Orient want to lose at home by 4 TDs. One or the other

Unless they've said otherwise Boise is still monitoring that game this weekend so not even sure it gets played. I have no clue on how long whooping cough takes to eradicate

Weird because just got an email two minutes ago saying one of the kids at my son’s high school has it. Such a random coincidence…

Boise keeps going up, now 38.5. Wouldn’t be surprised if that game gets canceled due to the whooping cough situation at Portland St.

In the letter my son’s school sent out about the confirmed case there, they said it would be a 6wk period before in the clear..

6 weeks. Portland St probably glad - saves them weekly embarrassment on the field
Will be interesting to see if they got it isolated or not, as that will determine how long they will be out of action. Anyone who had contact with the infected probably would be kept away, so they will be short handed, just a matter of how much. Definitely explains the 7pt move this evening.

Teams through 3 week

Abilene Christian – 1-1 ATS, 2-1 SU (unlined vs UWG) – last year were outgained in 10 of 11 games. This year have outgained every opponent (+76, +155, +59). Lost by 1 to TexTech, won by 2 vs NoColo (walk off 54y FG). Were 69% 3rd down vs TexTech, but just 31% vs WG and only 2-of-12 vs NoColo. Offense inconsistent. 6.53 ypp O, 5.03 ypp D, 3.9 ypp allowed vs FCS. Pass D looks good, WGU and NoColo both under 50% completions, but could be product of backup QBs coming in or starting both of those games. Have played fairly weak to very weak FCS competition so far. Next game host Idaho.

Alabama A&M – 0-1 ATS, 2-1 SU (last two games unlined Dll opponents) – total unknown of team. Lost 3-73 at Auburn week 1. Beat Kentucky State 49-7 with a +470 yardage edge, beat Georgetown (KY) 24-16 with +193 total yardage. Next game at Austin Peay.

Alabama State – 1-1 ATS 1-2 SU (unlined vs Miles) – Defense giving up avg of just 269ypg, allowing 4.36 ypp. Poor offense, bad passing game. Low scoring team on O and D (scored 24 week 1 but 7 were KO ret and another TD was short field). Only scored 24 on Miles and 7 last week at Samford. Only outgained Miles by 45, Samford won by 5 and outgained them by 96. Next game 9/28 at Bethune-Cookman

Albany – 0-3 or 1-2 ATS depending on WVU line, 1-2 SU – O has not come together yet, the O only produced 20 pts week 1 vs LIU (scored on D for other 7), 14 at WVU and 13 at Idaho, but Idaho led them 41-3 as Albany got 219y and 10pts on their final 3 drives of the game. Being outgained by avg 117 ypg through 3 weeks. Bad rushing O, 3.2 ypc vs LIU and under 2ypc the last 2 games. Just 2 TDs on 9 RZ trips at WVU and Idaho. Next game 9/28 vs Maine

Alcorn State 0-2 ATS 1-2 SU (unlined vs Ed Waters) - unknown, look weak. Have only scored 13 pts in 1H this year (UAB, Vandy, Ed Waters – just 10 pts 1H vs them in 38-7 win).

Arkansas Pine Bluff – 1-1 ATS 1-2 SU (unlined vs Ark Baptist) – Hard to gauge as games vs Arkansas was blowout loss and vs Ark Baptist was blowout win. Last week started close vs Tennessee State, but TSU eventually led 38-14 before PB made it 41-28 Final. They gave up 7 sacks and 11 TFLs in that one being outgained 329-424 (4.8-6.1). TSU probably could’ve or should’ve won by more. Next game host Central Arkansas

Austin Peay 0-3 ATS and SU – really bad run D, bad overall D. Inefficient Offense. Have allowed 19 sacks, noted UCA, SIU and Louisville are going to be very tough Ds for this O to match up against. Next game host Alabama A&M

Bethune-Cookman 1-2 ATS, 0-3 SU – played two FBS. Horrible offense, 255 total yards was their best output last week vs WMich (4.1ypp). Hard to say how bad their O is vs a comparable type team because Mercer has an outstanding FCS D right now and USF and Mich St are going to be tough for them to do much against. Outgained on average 321 ypg. Have allowed DD TFLs each game. They failed to convert a single 3rd down vs Mercer. Sub-20% 3rd down vs FBS opponents. Next game host Clark Atlanta

Bryant – 0-2 ATS, 1-2 SU (unlined vs Franklin Pierce) – O avg 342 ypg and 20 ppg, if QB Guest stays healthy, I feel they will do better as time goes on vs weak teams. Run and Pass D has been bad, everyone has converted over 50% 3rd downs on them. FCS teams are 100% 10-for-10 TDs in the RZ. Both FCS games went Over by 10-13 pts. Next game at New Hampshire

Bucknell - 2-0 ATS (unlined vs Merrimack), 1-2 SU – Scored 21 pts or more in each game. Good at scoring late, TD vs Navy with :30 left, TD vs Merrimack with under 1min left. Run D is an issue, VMI ran for 212 (7.6) and Merrimack 258 (5.7) and they allowed 65%, 73% pass completions in those games as well. O had been fairly good first 2 weeks, but had a bad game last time out, 260 total yards (4.1). Did not gain any TOs last week and lost 3 on their own, first negative TO ratio game this year and as a result arguably their worst game of the year. Next game host Marist

Butler – 1-0 ATS, 3-0 SU (unlined vs Upper Iowa and Hanover) – Beat Murray St 19-17 as 10 pt dog with a FG :09 left. Had a +197y total yard edge. Good passing numbers for them that game. Run D looks suspect vs an FCS type opponent. Next game 9/28 Virginia-Lynchburg

Cal Poly – 1-1 ATS, 1-2 SU (unlined vs West Oregon) – Better passing O than rushing O, can’t run even on San Diego or West Oregon. Both lined games have gone Under. Not going to expect much O from CP vs most defenses. Vs other weak offenses, their D can matchup. Stanford only ran for 119 (3.7) on them, but Cardinal hit 87% for 318 through the air. Next game 9/28 at Northern Colorado

Campbell – 2-1 ATS, 1-2 SU – Two games of +TO ratio they covered (Liberty and WCU). Outgained both FCS opponents. Called for 36 penalties in 3 games. Poor RZ O, 3 TDs in 10 trips vs FCS. No big plays passing last week compared to vs WCU 2 weeks ago. OL allows negative plays too often and not great rushing O. D only allowing 273 ypg (4.6ypp) vs FCS. Strong D with defensive minded HC. Next game home opener vs Stony Brook

Central Arkansas – 3-0 ATS, 2-1 SU – have outgained every opponent. Excellent rush O (200-300 every game avg 6.76 ypc). Pretty good QB play. Good D vs lesser FCS teams, haven’t played a good FCS O (Ark St gained 457 on them, mostly through the air). Next game at Arkansas Pine Bluff

Central Connecticut State – 2-1 ATS and SU – 16 TFLs vs St Francis and 13 TFLs vs Fordham. 14 sacks the last 2 weeks! Only allowed 188 total yards (weather and negative yardage turnovers aided) vs Fordham and only allowed 248 total yards last week (4.4). Weak offense however, don’t run well and aren’t efficient passing. There have been 4 non-offensive TDs their last two games and both still stayed Under. Next game at UMass

Charleston Southern 1-2 ATS and SU – only 131 total yards of O last week (2.6) at Richmond and just 257 (4.1) the week before at Furman. Bad run and pass O – except at home week 1 vs The Citadel they were pretty decent. Upset win at Furman was turnover fueled (+4), last week they were -3 (every drive into Richmond territory ended in TO). Have allowed 2 of 3 teams to convert 50% 3rd down on them. 3-0 to the Under. Next game 9/28 at Tennessee State

Chattanooga 1-2 ATS, 0-3 SU – O is averaging just 274 ypg. Actually their best offensive game was at Georgia State with 21 pts and 6.0 ypp. Can’t run, can’t stay on field with very bad 3rd down rate. Pretty solid D vs teams their own weight class. Georgia St only scored 24, Mercer only scored 10. Mercer didn’t top 300 total yards of O. Next game 9/28 host Portland State

Colgate – 2-1 ATS, 0-3 SU – Weak O, scored 20 on Akron last week but 7 of those were because they fell on a muffed punt at A03 yard line. Maine game probably best example of what they will look like offensively in league play (129y rushing 4.0, 63% and 174y passing for 303 total yards (5.1). Kind of solid D as seen vs Maine (who's not real good), but also vs Villanova they performed well (Nova is struggling right now). Schedule depending could be good dog and under team when they play other average to below average opponents. Next game host Cornell

Davidson – 0-1 ATS, 2-1 SU (Unlined vs Catawba and Point) – week 1 QB Coulter has been out last 2, unsure of stats, may not matter. Naturally they ran all over their Dll opponents. Some misfortune allowed the Georgetown game to go blowout, but their D was especially bad tackling and allowed some huge holes for GT running game. Hard to know if that was a bad first week game defensively or if they will be better in league play. Probably will. Next game 9/28 at Presbyterian

Dayton – 1-1 ATS or 2-0 ATS depending on Ind St line, 1-1 SU – Just by the stats and who they’ve played, pretty good defensive team, but the Os they have faced aren't good. Ind St scored 14 pts on D vs them last week. Pretty underwhelming offense themselves. Turnovers, where and when they happened have played major roles in both their win vs St Francis and their loss vs Indiana State. Without the turnovers they likely lose to St Francis, but maybe beat Ind St (Ind St played a very bad backup QB in that game). Next game host Ave Maria

Delaware – 2-0 ATS and SU – scored 40+ each game and limited Bryant and NC A&T to 17 and 13 respectively (A&T scored on D so actually only allowed their O to account for 2 FGs). Equally effective running and passing on O. Good D. Very strong all around team, deep at most positions. 10-for-10 scoring TDs in RZ. Transitioning to FBS ineligible for playoffs or CAA title. Next game host Penn

Delaware State - 2-1 ATS, 1-2 SU – O only averages 293 ypg and 12.6 ppg vs the likes of Wagner, Sacred Heart and Hawaii. 3-0 Unders as is the dog in their games. Have been slightly outgained in every game by 57 on average. Were +4 TOs in only win this year at SHU. Were -2 TO ratio last week. Wagner scored 30 on them but that is because of short fields. Next game host Richmond

Drake – 1-0 ATS and SU – have only played 1 game, week 1 was canceled due to weather midway through and had bye last week. Beat Eastern Washington in OT as 31 pt underdog. Outgained EWU by 75y. They did give it up on the ground in that one (206 4.4), but Drake O nearly passed for 400y. Won Pioneer league last year when Davidson choked. Just based on one game, they appear ready to defend that title this year. Next game at South Dakota

Duquesne – 1-2 ATS and SU – blown out vs two FBS, but upset YSU last week as 17-21 pt dogs. Outstanding rush O last week, RB Clements ran for 204 on just 12 att! They outrushed YSU 189-178 (11.1-4.0). Owned a 42:18 minute TOP edge in that one! Experienced Perrantes back at QB. Defending NEC champion looks strong vs other average to lesser FCS teams once again. Next game host WV Wesleyan

East Tennessee State – 2-0 ATS, 1-2 SU (unlined vs UVA Wise) – This team is collection of best remaining pieces off a bad 2023 ETSU team and the best pieces off last year’s Gardner Webb playoff team. Were outgained by about 200y at App St week 1, but played fairly tough in 28 pt loss. Beat up on UVA-Wise. Led NDSU by 11 and 12 pts in the 2H last week. Had the ball with 4min to go up 12 and lost! ETSU line of scrimmage was strong, especially defense often penetrating NDSU OL. Outrushed the Bison 270-231 (7.1-5.3)! King is more of a runner and he can have some poor passing games, and he was poor last week (6-15-113-1-1), but he ran for 79y net. Team shows promise if they can duplicate that kind of game vs other FCS teams. Next game at Elon

Eastern Illinois – 1-1-1 ATS depending on the Indiana State line could be 2-1 or 1-2 also. 1-2 SU. Very similar to last year’s team. Were outgained by 290 and 243 vs both Big Ten opponents. Only outgained Indiana State by 20y (Indiana State #1 QB was playing this game). Not a real strong running game although they try (30 att for just 86y on Ind St). Passing game can be good at times. Pretty good D vs teams their own size. Next game at Illinois State

Eastern Kentucky – 1-2 ATS and SU – played two FBS to open so just 1 game vs comparable competition to judge them. Have W ILL transfer QB starting. Beat West Georgia 26-7, but that game was never more than a 10-12 pt game until EKU scored TD towards end of 4th Q to win by 19. Outgained slightly in total yardage. Struggled to run the ball as top RBs had just 3.2 and 2.9 ypc and WGU was fairly effective on the ground vs them. Morresy was ok at times on a bad W ILL team last year, still a huge drop off from Parker McKinney. May have to rely on D more this year which has never been their strong suit. Next game host Morehead State

Eastern Washington – 1-2 ATS and SU – have been upset the last 2 weeks as 31 and 7.5 pt favorites. Have a pretty good roster personnel wise, feeling is coaching staff isn’t utilizing offense right. Head coach former OL and he’s tried to get the O to go through the running game when their passing game should lead the way. Hard to know where they go from this point out. They allowed SLU to run for 253 (5.4) so some of the same problems from past years has reemerged. Next game at Nevada

Elon – 2-1 ATS, could be 1-2 depending on the Duke line, 1-2 SU – Offense was a mess vs Duke, especially the OL, but D didn’t play that bad considering. D played outstanding vs NCCU and last week which should’ve been good enough for a win vs Western Carolina. Elon led 14-3, but they were -2 TOs and had a FG blk’d and returned for TD on them and a bad punt snap set up WCU at the 14 leading to another TD. Elon outgained them by 54y, with a better ypp of 6.3-5.0, but their O really struggled on 3rd down (18%) and in the RZ (0 TDs). Likely one of the better CAA teams if they get more consistent. Can be balanced run/pass on O and a solid D. Next game host ETSU

Florida A&M – 0-3 ATS, 2-1 SU – trailed their first two games by DD, but came back to win vs Norfolk and South Carolina State. Blown out by Miami, Fl. Norfolk ran all over them week 0 to the tune of 227 (5.3), were better but not great vs SC State. They have a -6 TO ratio through 3 games, although 3 INTs were vs Miami. Have not created or got a TO on D yet. Understandable step back from last year’s outstanding team. Richardson probably still the best QB in the SWAC (Central Mich/FAU). Next game at Troy

Fordham – 0-3 ATS and SU – team is a disaster. Trailed 3-27 1H at BGSU, lost 17-41. Trailed 0-19 1H at CCSU, lost 3-33. Trailed 14-17 home vs Stony Brook and lost 21-27 although had chances late. Scored 2 TDs on D in that one and were outgained by 175! 3rd down rate is awful. OL is terrible. RZ O is bad. It’s all bad. Montes got hurt and DNP 2H last week. D has shown they can be run on (BGSU 305y) or thrown on (SB 328y 13.6 ypc). Depending on week 1 number, Unders 3-0 in their games because their O can’t score. Next game at Dartmouth

Furman – 1-2 ATS and SU – lost 4 TOs week 2 in the 4 pt upset loss to Charleston Southern despite outgaining them 336-257 (4.6-4.1) – the run game surprisingly did struggle in that one. Get right game last week vs Stetson 48-7 with a 510-244 yardage edge. They have gone to true Fr Trey Hedden at QB over last year’s experienced backup Carson Jones. Optimistic on Hedden’s future. The D has done it’s job in limiting both FCS opponents played to date, but they are weak offenses faced. Next game at William & Mary

Gardner Webb – 2-1 ATS, 0-3 SU – were upset week 1 vs Wofford at home then played James Madison to a 13-6 game and last week Charlotte only won 27-26. GW actually led that game 20-3 early 3Q, Charlotte changed QBs and came back. GW scored TD with under 2min left and went for 2 and failed so lost by 1. GW outgained Charlotte by 41y and were only outgained by 16y vs JMU. New coaching staff from Dll and a lot of new players, but last couple games vs FBS has to be encouraging. Riddell, former ETSU QB is their QB right now. INTs are a bit of a problem (4 last two games). The D is outplaying the O, of the 26 last week 7 were from a pick-six so O doesn't score much. RZ O major issue, just 1 TD in 7 trips on the year. First two games solidly Under. Last week did go over the total of 46. Next game at Presbyterian

Georgetown – 2-1 ATS and SU – ran through Davidson week 1 46-24 although only outgained them by 24y. Took all 4 Q for them to get ahead of the spread at Marist, but owned a 319-210 yardage edge there (5.2-3.4). Ran into a very motivated Sacred Heart team last week who made some pivotal plays and Hoyas were soundly beaten by 26 and outgained by 121y. SHU gained 473y (7.2) – they only gained a total of 574 and scored 25 combined pts the first two weeks vs DSU and a Dll opponent. So pretty bad game by Georgetown there, they were also -5 TOs after having only lost 1 TO in their first 2 games. Normally it is a pretty capable offense that can succeed running or throwing. The D is up and down. Next game hosting Brown

Grambling – 1-1 ATS, 2-1 SU (unlined vs Tuskegee) – Offense only gained 247 total yards (3.7) at Texas A&M Commerce but were +3 on the TO margin resulting in 14 pts off TOs with one being a defensive score. They accumulated 80 return yards on a total of 6 turnovers gained! They capitalized on turnovers vs Tuskegee as well with a fumble return TD in that one also and had a short field TD from an INT. Weak rushing O vs Tuskegee (62y 2.4) and last week (177 3.4). Have some capability passing with Crawly at QB but this is not a terrific offense. Next game hosting Jackson State

Hampton – 1-1 ATS, 2-1 SU (unlined vs Virginia Union) – played best game of the year last week at Norfolk. Previously they were beat at home week 1 vs Morgan St and struggled with Virginia Union until their QB was knocked out of the game. Virginia Union led 21-12 at that point then the backup goes in and throws INT first series. Hampton came back to win 33-21. They dominated Norfolk last week with a 466-104 total yard edge (5.9-2.5)! They play both Zellous and Mays at QB each game. Given the opponent, their O can run or throw and they’ve converted 50% or better 3rd downs in each game this year. Their D has not faced any good offenses yet, so holding their opponents to an average of 235 ypg and 4.6 ypp doesn’t mean much. Virginia Union actually went for 6.3 ypp on them and Morgan’s normally limited O ran for 244 (4.4). Next game battle for the real HU vs Howard

Holy Cross – 1-2 ATS and SU – got first win and cover last week at Bryant, 43-22 401-349 (7.4-5.8) total yards. This D is definitely going to be hard to trust. URI gained 396 (5.8), UNH only 330 but good ypp (6.6) and last week Bryant also nearly had 6 ypp. They allow 60%+ pass completions. They appear a little better vs the run, but UNH ran for 6.1 ypc on them. So vs any kind of average to good O their D is yielding it. They are 2-1 to the Under so far on mid 50s totals, but last week had 65 pts on a 52.5 total, that game saw a KO ret TD and a blk’d punt TD so maybe a little caution there with a points explosion. Next game hosing Yale

Howard – 1-1 or 0-2 ATS depending on the Rutgers line, 2-1 SU (unlined vs Morehouse). Outgained by 215y at Rutgers. Did lead Mercyhurst 21-3, but actually Mercyhurst came back to lead that one 31-27, 31-29 after an xpt was blk’d and ran back allowing Howard to kick a game winning FG. Then they dominated Morehouse last week leading 35-7 before Morehouse got garbage pts and yards for the 35-21 Final. Don’t really know much about them given the competition last 2 weeks. I do remember they made the game frustrating for Rutgers with the running QB Scroggins. He may be hurt because he DNP last week. Or maybe they wanted a better passing QB instead. Tolbert was that for them last week, but he was not a running threat. I expect them to be sub-par passing regardless of who their QB is. Next game Who’s The Real HU vs Hampton

Houston Christian – 0-2 ATS, 1-2 SU (unlined vs Louisiana Christian) – Played two superior teams in SMU and Tarleton State and lost big vs SMU naturally and fairly bad vs Tarleton. Tarleton outgained them 446-289 (5.5-4.7). They didn’t run the ball good at all in those games and passed below 50% in each. Louisiana Christian must really be bad, HCU opened the game with 83y KO TD then had TDs of 35, 34, 25, 71, 66 and a 71y pick six. They won 70-7 with a ypp of 7.8-3.3! Throwing that game out the window, but good practice I suppose. Maybe they cover some inflated lines as the season goes on. Next game at UTSA

PART 2

Idaho – 3-0 ATS, 2-1 SU – After 2 Unders, Idaho O put up 420y last week as they nearly hit the Over 44 themselves with 41 pts. It was not all O however as Vandals scored with a punt ret TD and a pick-six. They led 41-3 with Albany picking up 219y and 10 pts on their final 3 drives for the final margin. QB Wagner is still out, Lynch who was hurt vs Wyoming did play. The passing is game isn’t how they are going to win, as they connected on just 48% of their passes. They are good in the RZ on O and the D limited Albany to just 1 TD on their 5 trips. This D is really good. They gave up yards but not scores at Oregon. They kept a limited Wyoming O down just like they should’ve. Run game, D, and winning special teams is their ticket. Next game at Abilene Christian

Idaho State – 1-1 ATS, 1-2 U (unlined vs West Oregon) – Don’t think they know what they want at QB. Utah Tech transfer Kobe Tracy has been the main guy, but he was benched last week for Hunter Hayes who was good in relief. Hayes is duel threat and led the team in rushing last year. Supposedly they want to redshirt Cooke who was their best QB last season. They need to figure the QB situation out. Would assume they should right the ship on O, but probably on matters vs the lesser Big Sky teams. The D hasn’t shown much improvement yet. UND’s new QB had his best day vs ISU. They’re not where they want to be 3 games into the year, they need some CalPoly, EWU, Port St games to build on. Next game host Southern Utah

Illinois St 0-3 ATS, 2-1 SU – injuries have hit them hard. Lose best player on O and D in the Iowa game. RB King (name was Blackmore 2023) is out for the year. LB Abdullah is out a few more weeks. Now they will also be without their best OL Zambrano and a starting WR, Lord currently #2 on the team is also out for the year. They led North Alabama 24-10 having some issues in the red zone with INT and FGs, that game finished just 24-17. UNA did gain 411 (6.1) on them. Last week was really surprising with W ILL having 3 straight long TD drives in the 1H. ILL St blk’d a FG for TD and had a 9y TD drive after INT or else that game unbelievably could’ve been closer. W ILL gained 503 (5.4) outgaining the Redbirds by 113y. Not playing to expectations. The O is moving it, 6.5 ypp vs both UNA and W ILL, decent passing numbers and the running game is still producing without King. After saying both QBs Rittenhouse and Rubley would split time, Rittenhouse has been the main QB. The D hasn’t been as tough as expected. Next game hosts Eastern Illinois

Incarnate Word – 1-2 or 2-1 ATS depending on the SIU line, 1-2 SU – O is avg 421 and 6.1 ypp. But the D has been bad. Even allowing UNC 360y (5.1) week 1 and then SDSU and SIU got over 500 on them for 7 ypp. They can be run on or passed on. Been outscored 52-80 the last two games and outgained by 100y in each. Played SDSU tough for 3Q then faded. Started bad vs SIU then came on strong at the end. Calzada has been good. They only ran the ball well vs UNC. Those are two tough teams they just played, but they need to be better. Next game hosts Northern Arizona

Indiana State – ATS record has multiple possibilities with results close to the spread. 1-2 SU – Have been outgained vs each opponent, 234y last week vs Dayton, 429y vs Purdue. Their best game was at Eastern Ill where they lost by 7 only being outgained by 20y (EIU had a 60y fum ret TD). Good game for QB Owens in that one 30-37-260-3-3 and was the team’s leading rusher. Supposedly it was a precaution to rest him last week. He has an injury to his nonthrowing hand. His replacement was awful! Indiana State actually won a game and covered some lines with 92 total yards of offense! Ind St scored 2 TDs on D. Elijah Owens playing is the only chance Ind St has on offense. The run D is pretty good, held EIU to 86y (2.9) and Dayton to 80y (2.2). Next game 9/28 host Houston Christian

Jackson State – 1-1 ATS, 2-1 SU (unlined vs Lane). Jackson started McCoy at QB, but Morgan played most of the game. Jackson led 23-3 HT last week. Southern O was bad 1H, they moved it in the 2H but didn’t get many points. RB Mulligan played for first time this year. Judging by ULM game, they could be vulnerable vs a good run O. Should be a good team to play vs the bad SWAC teams, but last year they were just 3-6 ATS vs SWAC. Next game at Grambling

Lafayette – 2-1 ATS and SU – Over 500y of O the last two weeks. Did allow a decent Monmouth O to gain 429 (7.7). Struggled vs Buffalo, dominated Marist. They get good QB play and run well vs FCS teams. Last year they were an incredible Sack and TFL D. This year just 1 sack and 9 TFLs through 3 games. The Monmouth game certainly signals the D isn’t as good this year. Next game at Columbia

Lamar – 2-1 ATS and SU – All 3 games have gone Under. Good RZ D, even vs Texas St week 1. Not the best passing team, prefer to run and rely on D. 7 of Weber’s 16 pts last week were scored on D. Next game host Texas Southern

Lehigh – 2-1 ATS and SU – Just missed cover week 1 at Army in final seconds. Veteran team capitalizing on TOs like vs Wagner +4 and a key INT killed a LIU drive in Lehigh territory that was returned to midfield which Lehigh took for a 20-14 lead (won 20-17). Would rather run than throw, 40+ rush att last 2 games. Not the best Patriot league team, but improved. Pass D is of a concern after seeing the LIU game. Next game host Princeton

Lindenwood – 2-1 ATS, 0-3 SU – All 3 Unders. Nearly 3-0 ATS as UCA scored TD with 3min left to cover by ½ pt. Just had best offensive game of year vs Missouri State, although they trailed 7-28, they finished with 328y on just 52 plays (6.3). The D gives it up, 554 (8.4) vs UCA and 476 (6.8) vs Missouri State. Caldwell is a very good WR when they can get him the ball. Next game host St Thomas

Long Island – 1-2 ATS, 0-3 SU – All 3 Unders. Played Albany really tough outgaining them by 103y. Last week vs Lehigh could’ve went either way with a play or two here or there different. Think they are an underrated team defensively (held Albany to 255y 4.7ypp and Lehigh 275y 6.4) with some good run D. O has some life with Stananzi at QB (only played in 4 games last year). Still not a strong O by any means, but also not as bad as one might expect. Next game host Rhode Island

PART 3

Maine – 1-2 ATS and SU, could have different ATS record depending on Colgate line – only cover by my count was due to back door at Montana State, a game they trailed 7-38 at HT and came back to only lose 24-41. Monmouth just outgained them by 346y! Maine had KO ret TD vs them so their O only produced 15 pts. Very bad run D and can’t stop passing either. Allowed Colgate 5.1ypp, Mont St 9.2ypp and Monmouth 8.3ypp. Next game at Merrimack

Marist – 0-2 and SU – Lafayette just kicked their ass by 42 with a 528-170 TY edge (7.5-3.2). Their O only gained 210 (3.4) on Georgetown week 1. Were actually 0-for-12 3rd down last week. O isn’t good at running or passing. Next game at Bucknell

McNeese – 4-0 ATS, 2-2 SU – Surprised to see they are 4-0 ATS. Covered week 1 with strong 2H with Tarleton playing conservative with backup QB. Trailed Southern 0-7 HT, but scored 2 TDs of just EIGHT yards of O due to ST mistakes by Southern and won 21-7. Covered a big number vs Tx A&M then again came from behind vs SFA. SFA led by 10 3x, but McNeese outscored them 14-0 in the 4Q. SFA turnovers helped them fumbling at the M18 and their final poss ended in INT allowing McNeese to win 28-24. They do not start games well, but have played good 2Hs. 3 FCS games have all been Under. Next game at Alcorn

Mercer – 3-0 ATS and SU – Have been outstanding on D. Chattanooga was first good team they played and UTC was held to just 278y (5.1) and 3 pts. Mercer O might’ve been exposed in that one though as they accounted for just 10 pts and 287y (4.2). Mercer O is run first. Their 3rd down D hasn’t allowed a conversion since week 1! UTC and Bethune combined for 0-24 on 3rd down vs them. Next game host The Citadel

Mercyhurst – 1-1 ATS, 1-2 SU (unlined vs Wheeling) – only outgained Wheeling by 62y in 28-25 win. Played a crazy game vs Howard where they trailed 3-21 but then led 31-29 before losing on FG as 27.5 pt dog. Robert Morris just punished them last week with a 28-55 loss and 297-536 (4.6-8.8) yardage deficit where RM only punted once all game. Not a good run O. Run D allowed Howard 275y (5.6) and RM 171 (5.3). Next game, 4th straight road game at Montana State

Merrimack – 1-1 ATS, 1-2 SU (unlined vs Bucknell) – UConn blew them out, but played good D at AF (held them to 237y 3.4) and Bucknell last week (held them 260y 4.1). Good run game last week (Corbett 19att-166y) and efficient passing game on just 15 attempts. Merrimack won that game 31-21 with a 145 total yard edge (6.8-4.1), they did score on D, but Bucknell scored in final minute to make it look closer. Next game home opener vs Maine

Mississippi Valley State – 1-1-1 ATS depending on the week 1 line vs TSU which I have as a push. 0-3 SU – O is averaging just 255 ypg and giving up 458. Scored 21 pts in 4th Q to only lose 21-41 to TSU. Only lost to Lamar by 14, then Murray St blew their doors off last week. TSU and Murray both scored on D vs them. MVSU has allowed DD TFLs in every game this year. Next game fouth straight road game at Nicholls

Missouri State – 1-2 ATS and SU – only impressive game was week 1 at Montana where total yardage was even in a 5 pt loss. Not the best D in the other games, especially vs Ball State. Scored 3 straight TDs to open last week vs Lindenwood and led 28-7 but I assume they lost interest only winning 28-14. Could be a good bigger dog because of their potential on O. Can’t trust the D and likely got a bit overrated after the Montana game. I do believe they have some decent roster pieces still and aren't bad. Will be interesting to see how they handle this year with redshirts as they move to FBS next year. They had said they were not going to RS players this year, we'll see once they start losing games in the Valley if that changes. Next game at UT Martin

Monmouth 1-2 ATS and SU – 3 Overs in high scoring games. O avg 500ypg and 37.6ppg. D gave up over 500y each to EWU and Lafayette. D is going to be a liability vs other average and good teams. Not an issue playing bad teams like Maine last week who only gained 286y (5.3) on them. Monmouth led 34-8 in that one before winning 51-22 with 7 of Maine’s pts scored on ST. Next game at Florida International

Montana – 1-2 ATS, 2-1 SU – beat down an overmatched Morehead St team last week. Led 24-7 HT vs UND then couldn’t sustain any O in the 2H as UND finished with a 37:22 TOP edge and UND scored on 4 straight poss for 20 unanswered to win. Griz blew that lead, but held off Missouri State week 1. Two close games in winning by 5 and lost by 3. WR and ST returnman Bergen returned last week. First two games just barely stayed Under. Next game host Western Carolina

Montana State – 0-3 ATS, 3-0 SU – led Utah Tech 31-0 and led Maine 38-7 but failed to cover both as they subbed in reserves in the 2H of each. Running game avg 345ypg and overall O avg 525ypg and that’s not keeping pedal down all game. Next game hosting Mercyhurst

Morehead State – 0-1 ATS, 2-1 SU (two unlined vs Central St and Kentucky Christian) – offense didn’t look strong vs the Dlls, only 283 and 369 total yards in those (4.0-5.6 ypp). Kentucky Christian must be really bad. Morehead is only 50% TDs on 10 RZ trips in those games. Next game at Eastern Kentucky

Morgan State – 3-0 ATS, 1-2 SU – Starting to look like 2024 Morgan O resembles poor 2023 Morgan O. Vs Hampton, Towson and FBS Ohio have gained just 319 (5.1), 246 (4.6) and 211 (3.3) total yards. D still leads the way and despite those yardage totals have only been outgained on average by 80 ypg. Week 1 went Over, the last two have gone Under by 20 pts or more. Next game home opener vs Virginia Lynchburg

Murray State – 1-2 ATS and SU – Took Miss Valley to the woodshed last week 59-8 with 440-220 TY (6.4-2.9). Week before were upset by Butler at home as 10 pt fav and Butler outgained them by 197y. New staff, new players, new conference last year. They may be a team to monitor because it’s hard to say exactly what to expect out of them right now, but may be able to cover some big lines as it comes together. Next game 9/28 at North Dakota

North Carolina Central – 2-1 ATS, 1-2 SU – Offense is missing QB Richard. Avg just 303 ypg and 25ppg in two FCS matchups. They only had 81y of O 1H vs Elon and trailed 0-21 HT. Two FCS games have gone Over, but they are running a limited number of plays, just 52 vs Alabama St and just 48 vs Elon. Next game host North Carolina A&T

New Hampshire – 2-1 ATS and SU – won a tough game week 2 vs Holy Cross as a small dog. Were blown out week 1 by an FBS and did the blowing out last week vs Stonehill 45-6. UNH had scoring passing plays of 56, 53, 68 and 32 yards in that one ending with a 451-252 (6.9-3.6) TY edge. Transfer QB Seth Morgan is doing well (tied school record 6 TD passes last week). Was at Shepherd College last year (same school Tyson Bagent played at). So far, Morgan appears to be softening the blow of losing Brosmer. UNH lost a lot of close games last year. Everyone is looking for a surprise team in the CAA this year, could be UNH. Next game hosts Bryant.

Nicholls – 1-2 ATS, 0-3 SU – Only cover and their best game offensively this year was the least likely one at LSU. Only gained 200 total yards (3.2) at LaTech and just 171 (2.8) last week at Sac State! D is giving it up worse than expected. Tough start. They did play two FCS and a near perennial playoff team lately in Sac State. Could maybe turn it around vs softer schedule? It has looked bad. Next game home opener vs Mississippi Valley

Norfolk State – 1-2 ATS, 1-3 SU (unlined vs Virginia State) – Hampton outgained them 466-104 (5.9-2.5) last week! They only beat Va State by 5 two weeks ago. QB Kuhns was suspended first 4, he could return? Norfolk is only averaging 15 pass attempts per game. 3-0 to the Under. Seems like a long time ago now that Norfolk was going blow-for-blow with FAMU week 0. That Va State game must've taken a lot out of them to no-show last week vs Hampton like that. Next game at VMI

North Alabama – 1-3 ATS, 0-4 SU – missed cover vs UT Martin by 2 pts and vs Memphis by 1 pt. Were not competitive at all vs Memphis though. Led UT Martin 18-0 and 25-20 HT last week, but UTM got the 2H 23-3 and won 43-28. VS FCS competition UNA has only been outgained by 52y vs SEMO (who they also led at HT), 67y vs Ill St and by 39y vs UT Martin. Have been fairly competitive for parts of all their FCS games. Sounds a lot like their team last year. They started a new QB last week and actually played 3 QBs, Smith only had 1 pass att though. Tabscott went 6-13-149-2-2 and Harris 7-19-0-1 and was #2 rusher. The OL isn’t good and the D is ok at times, but usually the O lets them down and D gets worn out. UNA has lost 3+ TOs in 3 of their 4 games this year. Bad 3rd down O, subpar running game the last few games. Strange team that they can compete for a half like week 1 and last week and then fail to cover. Next game hosting Tarleton State

North Carolina A&T – 1-1 ATS, 1-2 SU (unlined vs Winston Salem) – Hung in for a half vs Delaware thanks to a 70 pick-six was just a 21-13 game at HT, but Delaware won 42-13 with a 526-264 (6.6-4.0) yard edge. A&T is only averaging 17.6 ppg. They struggled vs Winston Salem 2 weeks ago. Don’t really know how I feel about them, but it’s probably not good. Next game at North Carolina Central

North Dakota – 3-0 ATS, 2-1 SU. One of the biggest surprises this year based on what they lost and what they had returning. Were only outgained by 58y week one at Iowa State. Came from 17 down and scored 20 unanswered on Montana with the UND D totally shutting down the Griz O in the 2H of that one. Then had a pretty dominating last week vs Idaho State (led 38-7 HT). Better rushing O than passing although Romof had his best game of the year 25-38-287-8-1. Next game hosting San Diego

North Dakota State – 2-1 ATS and SU – the D got a pass for CU’s 504y and 8.8 ypp week 1. But last week ETSU gained 383 and 7.1 ypp on them. Which makes Tennessee State really look bad since they only gained 200 and 3.6ypp week 2 in Fargo. Cam Miller is having an outstanding season. 72.6%, 708y passing, 5-0 ratio, #1 rusher 56.3 ypg with 5 TDs. Outside of him, some of the concerns over the summer have surfaced vs ETSU again. The OL wasn’t pushing people around, ETSU held up very well. And NDSU isn’t getting many big explosive plays from the RBs this year like they always have before. And the D is giving up plays that vs CU maybe that is excusable, but vs ETSU especially in the running game. Bison should be performing better. They’ve played an FBS, a mid-tier Big South/OVC team and maybe a good SoCon team. Will be interesting to see how it goes in the Valley this year. Next game hosting Towson

Northern Arizona – 2-0 ATS, 2-1 SU (unlined vs Lincoln) – pretty impressive start to the season. Did what they should do vs two overmatched teams; avg 8.7 and 8.8 ypp on O and didn’t allow opponent running game to get going in either and limited those teams to 168 ty (3.4) and 286 ty (4.0) outgaining each by 284 and 268. Vs Arizona they held up well, led the 1H. Zona was actually 0-10 on 3rd down in that game. Zona eventually took the lead and outgained NAU by 163y. Through 3 games haven’t seen them matchup vs a comparable team. Zona may’ve been looking past them or they just may not be good either. Next game at Incarnate Word

Northern Colorado – 3-0 ATS, 0-3 SU – 2 Unders vs FCS. The improvement is noticeable and the stats prove it. Last year UNC lost to ACU by 20 and were outgained by 300y. This year they lost to them by 2 and were outgained by 60y. Last year UNC lost to UIW by 35 and were outgained by 356y. This year they lost to them by 21 and were only outgained by 50y. But their #1 QB is out for the foreseeable future and they tried to run their way to victory last week, and it almost worked. Ran 65x for 241y and only attempted 13 passes, completing just 6 for 25 yards. But the D made things tough on ACU. HC Lamb is respected in the region and Big Sky, tough job he took here, but they are getting close to snapping the losing streak. Next game at Stephen F Austin

Northern Iowa – 0-3 ATS, 2-1 SU – I have the line last week 30.5 and they lost 3-34 at Nebraska. Defensively Nebraska did what they wanted and UNI allowed 8.8 ypp vs them. Two confusing noncovers vs Valpo and St Thomas weeks 1 and 2. Had a huge stat edge vs Valpo but only won 35-7 at home. Weird road game for a Valley team to go to St Thomas and they were lucky to escape there with a win. Run game avg 6.6 and 7.7 ypc in those two games, but vs Nebraska they were held to 139y rushing for 3.6ypc. Don’t seem especially good passing. Next game at Hawaii.

Northwestern State – 1-2 ATS depending what the Tulsa line is, could be 0-3, 0-3 SU. Gave up 622 and 620 yards in two FBS games and allowed PV to gain 464 on them (5.5). Scoreboard shows that they scored 31 on PV, 14 of those pts were from pick-sixes. Horrible 3rd down O. Can’t run, can’t pass, bad team. Next game hosting Weber State

Portland State – 0-2 ATS and SU – only gained 240 yards and 3.5 ypp at Weber 2 weeks ago. Scored 10 1H pts and 6 2H in that one. Game was close 19-10 entering 4Q, but Weber scored 24 in the 4th. Only managed 7 1H on Wazzou week 1 yet allowed them to score 49 before HT (100y pick-six in that one)! Chachere has struggled, 51% 118 ypg, 2-1 ratio, has 86y net rushing with a couple TDs on the ground. But that D, allowed Weber 535 (7.2) and Wazzou 637 (12.5). Canceled week 3 game vs South Dakota day of game due to team illness and precautions. Next game at Boise.

Prairie View A&M – 2-1 ATS, 1-2 SU. Have them covering by a ½ pt at Mich St. Were upset week 1 by Texas Southern then upset NW State week 2 as small dog. Not a good offense or defense. They have had 3 pick-sixes go against them the last 2 games. Next game host Southern

Presbyterian – 0-1 ATS, 2-1 SU (unlined vs Erskine and Virginia Lynchburg) – Can’t take much from last 2 games, avg 7.0 ypp on O in both. Scored 31 on Erskine but had a 90y KO ret TD and also had a 9y drive for TD after recovering a muffed punt. Virginia Lynchburg is everyone’s whipping boy (even Livingston beat them 37-9). Mercer destroyed this team week 1 63-10. Next game at Gardner Webb

Rhode Island – 2-1 ATS and SU – won a close game vs HC week, but had a 125 yardage edge. Minnesota shut them out and then last week beat Campbell 21-9 but were held to 259y (4.9). URI did have a short field TD drive after a fumble recovery and Campbell failed on a 4th down pretty much as time expired in the 1H from the RI03 and later were also SOD at the RI14. Campbell outgained them by 81y despite losing by 12. Pretty solid run D, may be more vulnerable through the air than years past. Lost 3 TOs week 1 and 4 TOs week 2, but cleaned that up and only lost 1 last week. Next game at Long Island

Richmond – 1-2 ATS and SU – lost fairly bad to UVA week 1 (trailed 7-34 before losing 13-34). Were upset at home to Wofford, thanks in part due to throwing 4 INTs. Charleston Southern turned it over 3x last week and Richmond rebounded with a 370-131 (5.9-2.6) yardage edge. Richmond only attempted 15 passes but connected on 87% and ran for over 200 (4.4) which is about their average on the ground. Run D vs the FCS opponents has been strong. All 3 games have gone Under. Next game at Delaware State

Robert Morris – 2-0 ATS, 1-2 SU (unlined vs Edinboro) – lose to Edinboro, but came out big last week vs Mercyhurst putting up 536 yards (8.8) and won 55-28 as RM only punted once all game. Not really sure who they are, led Utah State 14-10 at HT before losing by 22. Ugly loss to Dll school then blew out Mercyhurst. Next game at Wagner

Sacramento State – 2-1 ATS, 1-2 SU – dominated Nicholls more than 34-7 show scores. Nicholls gained just 171 total yards (2.8) to Sac State’s 408 (6.2). Nicholls scored on a pick-six and Sac St was just 3 of 6 TDs in the RZ. Actually RZ O hasn’t been great, 8 TDs on 16 trips, but two games vs FBS makes it harder. Led San Jose 17-14 HT week 1 but were outscored 7-28 2H and turned it over 5x there. They really were not in the Fresno game at all. Fresno led 25-10 HT with Sac St’s score being a 78y pass. Sac St got some garbage yards and pts to make that one look close. Both FBS games went Over, Under last week just because Nicholls so bad. Conklin was QB entire game, not sure on Bennett, but he has become increasingly boom or bust QB. Conklin is more steady. Can have a pretty good running game with Tau-Tolliver. Can’t believe the D is actually as good as it looks last week. Vs good passing teams I think they will struggle. Next game at Texas A&M Commerce

Sacred Heart – 1-1 ATS, 2-1 SU (unlined vs St Anselm) – only scored 25 total points the first 2 weeks, then scored 40 pts on Georgetown last week. New starting QB this year had best game of the season and the running game had 264y (6.4) with two 100+y rushers. SHU scoring D doing a good job, DSU scored just 17 and GT scored just 14. Benefitted from +5 TOs last week. Next game at Stonehill

Samford – 0-2-1 ATS, 1-2 SU (I had the UF line at 38 making it a push) – 305y (4.2) and just 12 pts last week vs Alabama St! Struggled to run the ball and were sub-30% on 3rd down. Vs FCS teams, Samford has fumbled the ball (or had bad snaps) 7x. They only lost 1 of those. Samford did throw INT last week at the A10 and missed a FG from the 12. They missed first xpt so went for 2 on the other TD and failed. Next game 9/28 at Furman

San Diego – 1-0 ATS, 2-0 SU (unlined vs Central Washington) – beat Cal Poly partially due to two pick-sixes, but CP had a fumble ret TD in that one as well. In two games only avg 312.5 ypg on O (5.1) and giving up 288 on D (4.5). Last week vs Central Wash SD went 3-and-out 7x. Next game at North Dakota

Southeastern Louisiana – 1-2 ATS and SU – couple rough offensive games vs FBS to start the year then big rushing output 253 (5.4) vs Eastern Washington and outgained them 341-333 (4.8-5.8) overall. Held EWU to just a FG in the 2H. EWU is kind of a mess, but encouraging game for what they might be able to do in conference play. Next game hosting South Dakota State

SEMO – 3-0 ATS, 2-1 SU – Have two comeback wins this year, week 1 vs UNA and last game before their bye they trailed UT Martin 21-35 in the 4Q and won in OT 45-42. Nice win for them considering they blew several games late 4Q last year. Have shown ability to run or pass on O (when they want, only attempted 4 rush attempts with RBs vs UTM). UTMartin did gain 470 (6.2) on them. Previously the D limited NewMex State to just 270y (3.8) and North Alabama to just 320y (5.4). Next game at Southern Illinois

South Carolina State – 1-2 ATS and SU – played pretty well vs Georgia Southern according to box score. Lost 14-42 however they were only outgained 318-351 (4.5-6.2). GS had a 60y pick-six and scored late TD for final margin. SC St moved it well at times, but missed two FGs after good drives. They outgained The Citadel by 146y despite just winning by 3 (noncover as a 5pt fav). Had to settle for some FGs in the RZ there, one was missed. Kind of an average offense and defense. Next game 9/28 hosting North Carolina A&T

South Dakota 1-0 ATS, 1-1 SU (unlined vs Northern State) – competed well at Wisconsin but had to settle for FGs on their two RZ trips. UW did outgain them 385-237 (5.7-4.6). They only had a 351 (6.9) yards in the 45-3 game week 1 vs Northern as they scored twice on ST and had another TD set up by a muffed punt. Last week’s game vs Portland St was canceled day of game. Next game hosts Drake

South Dakota State – 0-2 ATS, 2-1 SU – Kind of seem off. Last week played Augutana and had a rough game. Instead of a game to get the backups in Gronkowski had to go the whole way. The passing game hit a good % but just 7.4 yard per catch. The running game was good, but the rest of the O wasn’t. Weren’t able to get separation from Incarnate Word until the 4th Q and the yardage was even vs Ok St week 1, they were never in that game. They do not appear as strong as past editions as they have finally lost some players after continually returning the bulk of their team. Next game at Southeastern Louisiana.

Southern – 0-2 ATS, 1-2 SU (unlined vs Savannah State) – week offense. Teasett started, but was injured so they are back to Bodden now. The O in the 1H was bad at Jackson as they didn’t cross midfield on first 5 possessions. They got better in the 2H in terms of yards, but not points. As it went Southern had a slight 17y edge but lost by 18. Rush O is poor 1.4 ypc vs Jackson, 1.7 ypc vs McNeese. Not an O that can be counted on. D appears to have slipped some too. Next game at Prairie View A&M

Southern Illinois – 2-1 ATS depending what the BYU line is, I had it as 17, could be 3-0 ATS if higher there – 2-1 SU – Offense had a phenomenal game last week until QB Williams got hurt second play of 4Q. 35 pts 1H, 0 pts 2H. 543y last week when they had a total of 616 in the first two games combined. BYU outgained them by 296y and then Austin Peay blew some scoring opportunities as SIU beat them 31-17 but yards were pretty much even. Run D pretty good. UIW got 437 yards on them, but 215 were on their final 3 drives. Next game ‘War For the Wheel’ hosting SEMO

Southern Utah – 2-1 ATS, 1-2 SU – 3 Unders. Survived two FG misses from UTEP in OT to escape El Paso with a win. Had a pick-six vs UC Davis and nearly had a second that was dropped. Led 14-6 HT, but UCD had big 3Q ultimately SUU lost that game 21-24 with yards basically even. Strong running game vs FCS teams, passing game not as effective, but good 3rd down O. Next game at Idaho State

ST Francis - 1-2 ATS and SU – 3 Unders – Have been upset twice at Dayton and home vs Central Connecticut. Beat Kent week 2 with a 122y edge. SFU gained 402y on Kent (5.8) but in other 2 games they avg just 247.5 ypg (4.5). Their D has held all 3 opponents 260 ypg, but they are all very bad offenses. Last week’s game saw 3 non-offensive TDs. SFU ret’d a KO for TD and had a fumble recovery in EZ. SFU had a 97y TD run, but gained just 151y on their other 55 plays! Week 1 QB injured. His replacement that guided the Kent win and started vs CCSU was also injured. SFU has lost 7 TOs in two losses. Next game at Eastern Michigan

St Thomas – 1-0 ATS, 1-2 SU (unlined vs Sioux Falls and Black Hills) – Really weak O, avg 201.5 vs their two Dll opponents! Just 3.3 and 3.4 ypp in those. Surprisingly their best game was vs UNI, which still wasn’t a good offensive performance (297y and 10 pts). Next game at Lindenwood

Stephen F Austin – 1-1 ATS, 1-2 SU (unlined vs North American) – Both Unders. Not much O vs N Tex, 20 pts but 7 was from a pick-six and one of the FGs was set up off another INT and 30y return. Offense really only worked for 10 of the 20 pts. Outgained 248-504 (3.5-6.5) in that one. +3 ratio only reason it was close. Last week McNeese was off to their normal slow start and SFA was able to get out by 10. This time they lost 3 TOs, all occurred in McNeese territory. SFA was outscored 0-14 4Q. Have not scored a RZ TD last two games (3 trips). Bad 3rd down O. Unpredictable team. Next game hosting Northern Colorado

Stetson – 0-1 ATS, 2-1 SU (unlined vs Ave Maria and Warner) – Their NAIA week 1 and 2 games 2023 to 2024 have suggested improvement. In terms of game play, Stetson D does appear better this year as it took the entire 4Q for Furman to fully blow them out rather than it just getting ugly early (24-0 HT). Furman outgained them 510-244 (6.9-3.4), run D not awful considering (allowed 171y 4.4). They moved it a little on O in the 1H, but missed FG threw INT and were SOD in Furman territory. Threw 3 INTs. Not willing to bet on the fact they may be better yet. Next game at Harvard

Stonehill 0-2 ATS and SU – Bad D, can be run on (SB 260 5.0) or passed on UNH (439y 71%). O showed some first game despite only scoring 10 pts. O was poor last week. Only completing 42% of their passes so far. Next game home opener vs Sacred Heart

Stony Brook – 2-1 ATS and SU – Have won 2 straight games after going winless last year. New staff, new players, new life. Outgained Fordham 432-257 (4.9-4.0), only reason it was close because they threw 2 pick-sixes. Passing game can produce some big plays but is not consistent. Rush O struggles vs better teams (only ran well on Stonehill). Allowed 382 total yards to Stonehill (5.2) makes me suspicious of their D. Next game at Campbell

Tarleton State – 1-2 ATS, 2-1 SU – Got off to a hot start 1H vs McNeese, but QB injury threw them off for next 6 quarters. Got decent backup QB settled in for Houston Christian and had 446-289 (5.5-4.7) total yard edge in the 35-18 win. Don’t think we have seen their full potential on O or D yet…the D may be a bit of a struggle vs better teams. QB1 Gabalis could return this week. He had a torn thumb ligament in his throwing hand. Next game at North Alabama

Tennessee State 0-2-1 ATS, 2-1 SU – Could be better ATS depending on week 1 line I have push. TSU led 31-0 then 38-7 on Miss Valley week 1 early in the 4Q, only won 41-21 as 20 pt fav. Got humbled at NDSU in a total noncompete game. Vs a team back in their neighborhood led Ark PB 38-14 3Q, but only won 41-28. Pretty good O, 7.7 ypp vs Valley and 6.1 vs PB and O keeps the chains moving on 3rd down. Run D strong, stats impacted by 10 sacks and 24 TFLs in those two games. Next game at Tenn Tech

Tennessee Tech – 2-0 ATS, 0-2 SU – Started slow vs MTSU, were down 0-21, but came back to lead 25-24 with minute left and lost with :16 to go. Lost 3-48 at Georgia in a whatever game. Hard to know much only playing two FBS and then bye last week. I don’t think they are strong offensive team, decent defense. Next game hosting Tennessee State

Texas A&M Commerce – 2-1 ATS, 0-3 SU – Played a good 1H vs San Diego State and a good 2H vs UC Davis. Expectation was for a complete game vs an equal type opponent. They outgained Grambling 419-247 (5.1-3.7), but in a game that saw 9 TOs, AMC lost 6 of them including one that was returned for a Grambling TD and other set them up for a 17y TD drive. Had the lead late but couldn’t close game out and lost in OT. Still a building team that was Dll 3 years ago. New QB this year, but they’ve throw 7 INTs with Peace having just a 3-6 ratio and 53% completions. Next game hosts Sacramento State

Texas Southern – 1-1 ATS and SU – Upset PV week 1 with a 346-240 (5.2-3.9) total yard edge and a good all-around game. They had a long losing streak to PV. Followed that up with a blowout loss to Rice, losing by 62 and outgained by 446. New HC Chris Dishman (former NFL CB Houston Oiler). Bye last week. Don’t think they are good even in SWAC terms, but small sample size. Next game at Lamar

The Citadel – 2-0 ATS, 2-1 SU – Both Unders. Signs of life, came back to beat CSO 22-21 week 1 after they trailed 3-21 and lost close to SC State by 3 covering the +5, but were outgained by 146y in that one (missed kicks by SC State were the key to the cover). Had 54 pts on North Greenville last week with just 346 total yards (5.4). They had good starting field position on several drives and added a blk’d punt TD and a 1y TD drive following fumble recover. So not willing to think they are more than a 20ppg tops type offense. Next game at Mercer

Towson – 2-1 ATS, 1-2 SU – 438y and 20 pts on Cincy week 1 while allowing 658 and 38. Since then vs Morgan and Villanova they have gained 346 (6.3) and 394 (5.7) and just 27 total pts combined on offense there. D held limited Morgan O to 249y (4.9) 9 pts and a not very effective Nova O to 351 (5.6),14 pts. There are FG issues, only made 2 of 6 last two weeks and last week had two shots to take the lead and the last chance was for the win, but they missed both from the 31 and then from the 20. Could be hung over from that near upset win over a top ranked team. Feel like I may’ve lost a handle on them. Should be good O bad D and from a scoring perspective it’s turned opposite. Next game at North Dakota State

UC Davis 1-2 ATS, 2-1 SU – Dog is 3-0 in Davis games. They are really really struggling in the RZ. Just 4 TDs on 12 trips in 3 games this year. The OL isn’t that good and when the field compresses their offense can’t execute. Those issues have allowed Tex AM Commerce and Southern Utah to keep games close when Davis should be superior to each and capable of covering those games. Commerce had the ball down 7 before a late pick-six made that score 36-22. Southern Utah had the ball in the final minute down 3 driving when they threw a pick to end it. Davis has only outgained AMC and SUU by a total of 16 yards. ATM passed on them, SUU ran on them. It’s only been 1 each the last two weeks but Hastings is throwing picks. SUU took one for TD (and dropped another that would’ve gone for TD). Had one vs ATM, threw 3 vs Cal. He had trouble with INTs last year. Next week hosts Utah Tech

UT Martin – 2-1 ATS, 1-2 SU – I personally have not seen any of their games this year. Outgained SEMO by 105y and blew a 35-21 4Q lead in that one and lost in OT. Trailed 20-25 at UNA last week, but won 43-28 with a pick-six capping their scoring. QB Dent was benched after starting 4-17-53-1-2. Sheron went 14-18-170-1-0. Next game hosts Missouri State

Utah Tech – 1-2 ATS, 0-3 SU – Only cover of the year came week1 after Montana St subbed and Utah Tech had close to more yards on that drive than they had the entire game before. They had 152y and 2 TDs in garbage time last week vs NAU to lose 17-45. Vs FCS they have been outgained by avg of 285 ypg. UNLV really put it on them. The offense is terrible and the D is equally bad. Next game at UC Davis

Valpo – 2-1 ATS, 1-2 SU – Were outgained 124-481 to UNI and 331-554 to YSU yet covered both. Allowed nearly 800y rushing vs those teams. Their #1 QB has been out, so they have been playing two others. Against YSU they inserted the running QB late 1Q when YSU led 21-0, but QB Tyler led Valpo on 3 scoring drive accounting for 65% of their total yards (215 of 331). They don’t pass much with these QBs, on the year they are only attempting 20 passes a game completing 43%. Not sure when Appel can return. Only beat a good NAIA team 20-17 with just +35 yardage edge. Converted 1 of 14 on 3rd down vs them! Next game hosts Roosevelt

Villanova – 1-2 ATS, 3-0 SU – All 3 Unders by a lot. Definitely a very disappointing 3-0 in terms of how they have played. Real good 1H vs YSU, but then bad 2H. Bad 1H vs Colgate, good 2H. And last week at home vs Towson was just bad start to finish. Last year Villanova outgained Towson by 344 yards and won by 23. This year they were outgained by them -43. Villanova would’ve lost if Towson could kick FGs. I thought Towson should be the medicine for an Villanova O trying to figure things out, but no. This team does have the pieces to live up to the expectations, they just better hope they don’t lose a game before it comes together.

VMI – 0-3 ATS and SU – All 3 Overs. Tough opening schedule has stunted any potential growth they might’ve had in year 2 of the staff. Weren’t competitive at all vs W&M, looked better at least running the ball vs Bucknell, but lost to them by 7 and GT last week was no contest. The Bucknell game is probably what will be most useful for trying to predict their games vs other SoCon teams. They were outgained 378-451 (5.8-6.4), but the running game produced 212y for 7.6ypc. Passing wasn’t good. Hit 65%, but under 7ypc. And the D was surprisingly bad vs Bucknell as Rucker carved them up for 76% and 340y. I would’ve thought the D would do better than allowing Bucknell 35 pts and 451 total yards. Next game hosting Norfolk

PART 4

Wagner – 1-1 ATS, 2-1 SU – Lehigh jumped on them and in some heavy rain and wind, lost 4 TOs and fell into a deep hole. Benefited last week with two short field TDs after INTs. DSU really hurt themselves with TOs in that one and where they happened last week. Feel like Wagner can compete vs other avg to bad teams in the NEC, maybe with the right circumstances they can surprise vs the upper teams. Have some skill players that can be counted on at RB and WR, they play different QBs, may have settled on Cady. Likely not a good run D. Next game host Robert Morris

West Georgia – 1-1 ATS (unlined vs ACU), 1-2 SU – total yards and yards per play basically even with Samford and EKU. Difference vs Samford was +2 TOs that included a 14 pt swing before HT and short field TD. Last week it was starting field position, WG was frequently backed up inside their 20 while EKU starting field position was closer to midfield. Vs EKU was closer than 26-7 implies. Really not a great game from either team, but EKU only led 10-0, 13-7 HT. It was 19-7 late and EKU tacked one on late while WG was SOD at the E07 on their final drive. Wydner returned at QB last week after leaving ACU with injury week 2. WG wasn’t very competitive vs ACU as that game was a multi-score lead for ACU throughout. Part of that could be the QB injury. ACU should be on a different level than WG so that figures. Vs lesser teams like Samford and EKU, WG should be able to matchup. Next game 9/28 hosts North Alabama

Weber State – 1-2 ATS and SU – No surprise, not a good offensive team. Did finish with 535 yards vs NAU but only had 19 pts entering the 4Q (they scored 24 in the 4th). Last week O only accounted for 3 FGs as their lone TD was scored on D. Pretty good D as seen vs Portland St (held them to 3.7 ypc and 48% completions) and did a good job on Lamar run game, as their traditional ball carriers only avg 3.21ypc. One of the QBs got a decent run that bumps up the overall average. Lamar’s QB got hurt, but the backup was good enough or even better. The offense holds them back, call it streaky at best. Next game at Northwestern State

Western Carolina 2-1 ATS and SU – Offense has underperformed their early/mid 2023 standards so far this year. Were pretty good for large parts of the NC State game, but haven’t been vs FCS. Only 287 total yards and 4.3 ypp with ZERO offensive TDs vs Campbell. Gonzales threw 4 INTs in that one. Last week, only 370y with 5.0 ypp and of the 24 pts, the O only had to work for 10 of those as one TD was a blk’d FG return and another TD was set up on the 14 yard line after a bad punt snap. Gonzales was better last week which isn’t hard coming off the Campbell game, but Elon is a solid D in their own right so that is good. Running game just kind of average. The team will go as Gonzales goes. The D got some credit for how they played week 1, but gave up a lot of yards vs Campbell and Elon. Fortunately for WCU both those teams struggled to score points off their yards, or maybe it is a purposeful bend-don’t-break style from WCU. Don’t think we know the full story good or bad on them yet. Next game at Montana

Western Illinois 1-2 ATS, 0-3 SU – Were outscored 18-131 in two FBS games while being outgained 313-1407! Wow. They played much much better than expected last week at Ill St, only losing 34-51 and had a yardage edge of 503-390 (5.4-6.5). Ill St capitalized on some TOs and special teams mistakes there for some points. So that was weird. Maybe it shows that W ILL isn’t auto fade as a big dog at least. The D is still pretty bad so maybe Overs will continue. Avg total has been 53.6 yet the pts in their games have averaged 78. Next game 9/28 home opener vs McKendree

William & Mary – 1-2 ATS, 2-1 SU – Were not able to matchup vs Coastal Carolina week 2 as that game wasn’t as close as the 21-40 score makes it look. They did dominate VMI week 1. The interesting game was last week. They were bet up to a 10 pt fav at Wofford who was 2-0 after pulling two upsets to open this year. Wofford nearly did it again as they were throwing into the EZ as time expired only losing by 7. Game was tied 14-14 HT. W&M did outgain them 428-354 (5.6-5.9). I do think this edition of W&M is pretty good so rather than an indictment on them, I will take it as further proof of Wofford’s improvement. W&M D did keep VMI and Wofford under 50% completions and did well, not great, vs the run also while getting off the field on 3rd down. Next game hosting Furman

Wofford 3-0 ATS, 2-1 SU – All their games have been played in the 40s, 2 Unders, last week went over by a few pts. See above comments on them from the W&M game. Not a strong rush O but are getting significantly better QB play this season with Odum. The offense isn’t anything special and is unlikely to win them games if their D isn’t holding up well. The D held GW and Richmond to 300 and 318 total yards. W&M did much better vs them (428), but that speaks to Tribe’s capabilities more than the first two. W&M blew a couple RZ trips that kept the game closer and allowed Wofford a chance at the end. So Wofford should be fine vs mid-pack and worse teams they play, with a little luck they’ll punch above their weight. Next game 9/28 hosting Mercer

Youngstown State – 1-2 ATS and SU – defense is in rebuild mode and offense wants to be led by the run, including QB run. Villanova game looked like it might get away from them, but something happened at HT and YSU actually had the ball with a chance to tie before throwing INT (were -3 TOs that game). Nova only outgained them by 15y, but if Nova kept up their effort from the 1H that game shouldn’t have been close. YSU was vastly superior vs Valpo, for 3 of the 4 quarters, but an 18 pt 2Q from Valpo cost them the cover even though they scored 59 pts. The most alarming game for YSU is the loss to Duquesne. Duquesne is a quality NEC team, but as we know, a better YSU team just beat them 40-7 last year with a +384y edge. This time the yards were close to even, but Duquesne had a 8.0-4.9 ypp advantage and possessed the ball for 42 minutes! They outrushed YSU 189-178 (11.1-4.0). Very alarming that YSU could not matchup vs them in a traditional run game as opposed to just a QB running around like Valpo did to them. With the TOP being what it was, and limited possessions, YSU scored on all 3 in the 1H for 17pts, but in the 2H they didn’t score at all until :20 left. This figured to be a team that got better as the season wore on, hasn’t happened yet. Next game at Pitt

Some injuries of note this week:

RB Jordan Fuller (HC) - out for the year
QB DJ Williams (SIU) - out several weeks with injury to hand
QB Robert Coleman (LAM) - didn't play in second half last week
QB Rob McCoy (CHSO) - left game in first quarter last week with some kind of leg injury

Thanks @sleepy I was wondering about Williams, that is a big one for SIU. UIW was his coming out party! I fear the SIU O is going to be fairly limited with Simmons if that is who they are going with.

I saw Holy Cross had a different leading rusher. Fuller only had like 50 yards or something in that one, but has always been a stud. That sucks.

Portland State can score. Boise might have to score 70 to cover that number considering their defense hasn't been that good this year.
All comes down to the whooping cough situation I would think as I’m not touching it given the crazy line move since open. If it starts coming down then players more than likely were cleared but too much uncertainty to bother with this one IMO.

The school announced Monday that, in concert with the Multnomah County Health Department and the Oregon Health Authority, the multiple players who were exposed to the PSU player diagnosed with whooping cough have been given a 5-day course of antibiotics.

Portland State has not announced how many players and/or staff were exposed to the infected individual but the school did say, "(o)nly athletes and staff who have completed the antibiotic regimen will be eligible to travel and participate in the upcoming game."

Will be interesting to see if they got it isolated or not, as that will determine how long they will be out of action. Anyone who had contact with the infected probably would be kept away, so they will be short handed, just a matter of how much. Definitely explains the 7pt move this evening.
The move can be explained by me pounding -31.5 multiple times for the limit and others did too. Was too low

Well that could be everyone on the team. Everyone go get the pills and take em and let’s get. Back to work

Last 2 weeks of WCU O and Montana’s 2023 O vs normal teams coupled with decent WCU D and good Montana D has me thinking under in Missoula. Junior Bergen did return last week

The Over in Fargo is of interest. I am a little gun shy after going Over in Towson-Nova last week. Nova has shown little effective offense this year so that could partially explain. Towson off two solid Unders now and I had them pegged as a good O that can move the ball and score with slight resistance on D. Turning out to maybe not be the case. NDSU D vs CU (understandable) and vs ETSU not very Bison like

What line can you get for Nicholls St vs Mississippi Valley State? I’m going on a guess just by decent Nichols knowledge and just what I read here…..let’s see how bad I am. I wanna say -10….

I'd say too low because it is Miss Valley. Lamar had a nice win last week, but if Lamar is going to be -20 vs them and if Tenn St is going to be -20 vs them a brand like Nicholls even having a bad start to the year will be -20. Edit - the fact that Murray St, a bottom feeder, just hung 50 on them is going to either have the line open higher than expected or it will get bet up after open

Elon dropped from 8.5 to 6.5 this morning. I don’t think anything else has moved yet. The SLU take for me is almost exclusively based on what SDSU has done or hasn’t done on the field this year. Hopefully SLU run D is up for this.

Edit, oh W&M drooped a point. Not real sure on that one. Lean W&M
