really like the twinks tomorrow but every time i try to figure out when to fade RA dickhead he kills me

will be back with some stats later about twinks/knuckleballers..... if anyone finds it before i do please post. if not ill be back in a bit w/ em

also think we are getting a hell of a price on banny tomorrow @ +145... esppecially with how well the royals are playing right now

See Reynolds is in Seattle tomorrow night. He has been a fabulous over umpire this year.

Rich Harden - SuperFreak ??

Oak and Boston started in Japan so that is neutral start but other then that Harden has started 9 times athome between Oak and Chicago.

His team is 6-3 and he has allowed 10 RUNS (all earned).

He once allowed 3 runs and twice allowed 2 runs. Clearly he allowed 1 run on 3 occassions and NONE in the last three.

His 1 flaw is he hasnt gone deep in his games. Going 5 inn twice , 5.1 and 5.2 with his 2 Cubbie home starts lasting 5 and 5.1 inn...

54.2 Innings
38 Hits (10 Earned Runs)(5 Hrs)
22bb 72 Ks

How bout vs the NL in 2008 ( IL play and his new NL career) ???

FILTHY!!!
8 starts ( 4IL and 4 as a Cubbie)(4 Home and 4 Away)

51 INN
26 Hits
5 runs all earned and 4 solo HRs
14 BBs 72 Ks

Opponents : @ ATL , @ SF , @ ARI , @ MILW , vs Fla , vs Philly , vs SF , vs FLA ...nothing real special but outside of SF not terrible either

@ Home vs the NL : 24 inn 14 H 2 runs (earned) 2 Hrs 9bb 36Ks

I repeat .......

FILTHY !!!!

His Day splits look weaker BUT his 1st start after a stint on the DL was @ Texas which happened to be the only rough outing he had in 2008.

7 starts 41.1 Inn 30 H 8R 7 Earned 18 bb 59 K is more accurate IMO . WHich makes his ERA about 1.50 lower then at Night.

What does this all mean ? Not sure .

Wandy is obviously a lesser SP on the road and has struggled in 3 of 4 career starts @ Wrigley . Cubs could be off a LOSS . Wandy outlasted Zambrano at home but he really survived allowing 9 hits and 1 run in 6.2 innings .

18 series at home all 3 or longer except a 2 game set vs NYM which they won both

They have lost two straight home games TWICE all season. The first two home games of the year and the consecutive 3-2 losses recently vs Florida. Which of those 1st losses to open the season happened to be Games 1 and 2 of a series. So the 17 series since they have NOT lost Game 1 and 2 to an opponent.

Cubs 11-2 at home vs LHSP losing 4-3 to Estes and 7-6 to Pitt when the PEN blew the game in the 9th.

Now the pen is a concern with me for Chi and Harden looking like a 6 inn SP most days .

Houston ONLY 13-17 in day games ...

Only thing is I felt -220 /-230 was accurate for this game even with Wandy opposing so its really priced tightily maybe a tad high ...

Moyer dominates the Fish. The Phillies are playing well. Johnson was fortunate in his last start against Philly that it was a Sunday game during the day at Dolphins Stadium when the Phillies might have been looking ahead to the Mets. The Phillies also have a tendency to quit scoring when Hamels is on the mound but they like to score for Moyer. Johnson won't get off as lightly when the Phillies are at home playing at night after a day off. 6-1 Phillies.

SN, great post.

I would like to add that if I were the Cubs, I would be pissed for the rain not allowing them to finish the game properly. I think they will step up tomorrow. Does that mean I'll take them on the RL? Not sure yet, I don't make plays this early, but I do expect them to be pissed.

Seriously, just get the fucking total on that gotdamn orioles game out already, would ya'? Jeezez fucking rice...

Not crazy about Josh Johnson but do like that FLorida gave there last game away to COL and think that puts them in position for a win .

Moyer is in a terrible spot IMO. TERRIBLE. This will be the 4th time in the past 2 months he has faced Florida. I understand he owns the Fish but a guy like him who relies so much on keep hitters off balanced its tough to just trick the same hitters over and over again. Lackey was a guy who along with some othter bad situational angles got rocked vs a TOR team he owned in 2008 when he faced them a fourth time.

Also his only 3 poor starts vs FLA came at home where he has allowed 5 runs in three of the last 5 meetings @ Citizen(including 1st start of 2008). I dont understand how FLA can be below 200 at home vs LHSP and hit 246 away its basically a 50 difference but backwards.

Last 10 games vs RH Philly just 217 and worse is I think they might be the worst 7-1 team in awhile. I mean 7-1 in past 8 games where they pulled 2 wins out of theer ass vs ATL which I gladly took since I had Philly ML both days . They slipped by Wash 2-1 , they slipped by STL 2-1 and stole one late vs STL 5-4 but almost gave it back. Phillys pen has to be a concern .

The funny part is you can look at the pricing and see how much stronger they see Moyer @ Fla .

1st start @ home vs Andrew Miller only -140
2nd start @ Fla vs Olsen the Phillies were -120
3rd start @ Fla vs Nolasco it was a PKem say -110

Which makes me believe he would be about -135/-140 @ Fla if he faced Josh Johnson considering the prices vs Olsen and Nolasco (Hamels was -160/-165) . Which would at worst put him in the -180 range at home vs Josh Johnson. Fla has been big dogs on the road so high prices shouldnt be suprising . ..

Think they want Philly money here as it flies under the RADAR that FLA vs Moyer in Philly is a better situation for FLORIDA ....

L 10games for Philly which 7 were vs RHSP -
Jurrjens 8 inn 3 h 0 runs
Campillo 1.2 inn 2 h 0 r (pulled because of rain)
Balester 6 inn 6 h 2 r(Utley 2run Hr)
Redding 4inn 10 h 7 r
Lohse 5.1 Inn 5 h 3r(Pat the Bat 2 run Hr)
Looper 7 inn h 3 2r ( 2 solo Hrs)
Wellenmeyer 6 inn 4 h 1 ( solo hr)

They hit 1 SP in Redding
Then in 34 inn in the other 6 games they scored 8 runs which 7 of them came on 5 Hrs...So they are not manufacturing runs meaning the top of the lineup is slumping as is the bottom ....

For me very interested in FLA ML And OVER as well as marlins +1.5 RL...

Tuesday record favor Philly 11-5 vs 6-10 but like that FLA is 15-9 on the road with 9 or 9.5 totals where Philly is just 15-17 at home in that range. Granted Philly is 12-2 at home when laying bewteen 150 and 175 but it could closer lower then -150 as well...but looking at those games wasnt impressed bunch of games with hamels , bunch vs SF and COL which alone might be 7-8 of the wins...

Another study in extremes, Baltimore's last 35 games of basically all-or-nothing offense -

11, 2, 9, 2, 5, 7, 5, 7, 10, 3, 10, 6, 8, 5, 7, 1, 1, 5, 7, 11, 1, 8, 8, 1, 1, 5, 6, 5, 13, 7, 3, 10, 3, 4 & 5 run totals.

_7 totals of 0-2 runs.
_4 totals of 3-4 runs.
24 totals of 5+ runs.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Baltimore has gone 59 games without posting consecutive Under results. They are 39-16-4 to Over during this period, and are 14-0-2 to Over off their last 16 Under results.

Since July the 6th, the Chicago Cubs are...

- 14-1 SU in games which they score at least 3 runs (11-4 to Over)

- 0-9 SU in games which they score 2 runs or less (8-1 to Under)

Capping a side for their games is as "easy" as simply concerning yourself with how their offense will go.

Moyer did give up five to the Fish earlier this season but that was deceving as one man did all the damage, Mike Jacobs. Interestingly enough in that game the Fish had a 5-1 lead in the third, but Moyer hung around for several more innings and shut down Florida and the Phillies came back and won.

I'm not too worried about the fourth time because Moyer's stuff works perfectly against an overly aggressive undisciplined albeit talented team like Florida. Their players have by and large not shown the ability to adjust against Moyer. The last time Florida faced Moyer, the Fish talked a good game beforehand about making adjustments, but it turned out that Moyer dominated them even more than usual.Sometimes a guy just owns a team much that they are defeated before they play. Nearly every team has a nemesis like that.(for the Phillies it's John Maine)

I do agree that it's not as close to a lock at CBP, but the Phillies are great on Tuesdays, and have been strong in game ones and give Moyer run support.

If the over is under 12 tomorrow in LAA, I like the over...Orioles calling up their starter from AAA for game #2, Baltimore not able to handle their pen tonight like Captain Kirk would have liked, Angels having some success at the plate...seems like a possible beat down and Baltimore seems good for 5 or 6

When is the BALT over not a good play ? Its like 25-0 last 25 times they scored at least 4 runs on the road.....

Here ya Music City . I guess my point is if Moyer could always put the ball exactly where he wanted all teams would struggle vs him. The fact that FLA is over aggressive as you said and I clearly agree helps him in that he doesnt need to be perfect in his execution because FLA will help out . The fact he was so ON last outing vs FLA and now faces them for the 4th time in 2 months just makes me feel this is the perfect time for him to just have a rough day locating his pitches . There are just several things that make Philly unattractive IMO ...

I do know the 1st start vs FLA for Moyer was in the day where he has some trouble and the latter at night .

Guess seeing that Philly has won 7 of 8 makes me feel since I dont think they are playing well they can afford to lose here where FLA really cant after pissing the Sun game away ....Philly has 5 soft wins IMO during this stretch where if they played a team of FLA's caliber they could have lost all 5 . I donmt think much of STL especially when they are not hitting , Wash and ATL are just bad .....Philly hitting in those 5 wins is concerning as is every start vs a RHSP recently IMO..

Not trying to convince anyone of anything just see this as a terrible spot for Philly and despite my dislike for Johnson he at worst has some good karma with a 4-0 record ...hard to get me dinterested in FLA here ...

On to NYY: Refer to my Monday comments in the thread if need be.

real simple yanks were so overpriced in game 1 it was scary . Simple logic do you pay -160 vs Joba vs Padilla or Pettitte vs Harrison?? I would hope 100 out of 100 people answer the Pettitte matchup . Texas is weaker vs LHSP which makes Pettitte more attractive then Joba and does ittake much to know Padilla is LIGHT years better then Matt Harrison at this point . So if Joba was -160 on Monday then Pettitte should be -200 . However clearly -160 was a bad price even -130 was a tough sell maybe I could see -125 as fair value but not a cent more . Which then makes the Pettitte price accurate IMo.....

In 2008 the only time NYY has lost consecutive starts with Andy Pettitte is the 5 game lull he experienced from April 30 to May 17th . Since then 14 starts 10W 4 L none consecutive.

In 2007 again dealt with some ST injuries that set him back plus he is known as slow SP and 2nd H guy . From July 1st to end of the year......

He never lost consecutive starts and was 14-4 ....

Look at how well a kid like Purcey pitched vs Texas on Sunday and see how tough Andy is on LHBs. He bested them twice in 2007 granted a lesser version.

Harrison is just overmatched ...he suprised LAA in his debut but 4 starts since then he has 13 walks to 3 Ks ....26 hits 22runs 18earned in 17.1 inn ...

Yanks were DUE for a LOSS @ Texas winning 9 straight in 2006 and 2007....

Texas Home .278 LHP vs 312 against RHP.....

:shake:Good nite and GL.....

Of interest -

Cubbies
Marlins ML , +1.5 RL and OVER .....
Reds ML - Volzquez vs slumping Milw team and very RH heavy ...
SD?? who closes for NYM? maybe +1.5 ?
Oak ML = Smith solid vs Tor twice already and Richmond was solid but struggled with LH in minors ...cant lay chalk with him and would guess this is the day Tor feels the travel .....can bounce back with JD on Wed if need be
Yanks ML - need I say more ?
Boston ML - see Mondays thread about both KC and BOS . With beckett dealing cant see KC outscoring Boston here and Soria survived barely..

Tigers ML ? Huge disadvantage SP - YES -

This is what I would call a SUCKERS PLEASE STAND UP PLAY ! MASTER OF THE OBVIOUS ?

Of course Chicago is attractive but why NOT expensive ?

First remember that CHI road trip started in DET with Robertson hosting Floyd and now the homestand starts this way . I backed FLOYD that FRI nite and was cautious in doing so. Robertson and DET were -120 that day . Factor in CHI sick home record and DET terrible away record especially vs RHSP there is zero reason to open less then -160 and -170 or -180 seems about accurate .

Robertson was decent 6 inn 3 runs 5 hits 5bb 5k . He took a 4-1 lead into the 7th which evaporated . Floyd that day 6 inn 9 h 4r 3er 3bb 4k. He was outpitched.

Just 1 out away from a win and Todd Jones allows a 2 out 2 run HR to Dye that fabe CHI a 6-5 lead and eventual win.....

Balance restored ?? DET choked away Sundays game on about 3 occassions late and they choked away the last time these SP met....

I know all about Floyds great work vs DET but Robertsons vs CHI especially the last 2 @ CHI have also been very good. Floyd was great early but his last 9 starts dont impress me alot filled with alot of HRS allowed and great run support ......L6 at home 20 runs but 9 unearned in 38.1 inn 8Hrs ( Minny col Pitt cle oak kc not exactly strong offenses on the road) 30 h vs his firsy 5 starts at home which lasted 37.2 inn 16h 13r 10er (alot of unearned runs for him) ---huge difference in hits allowed....

Robertson is off a terrible start. His 3 poor starts in 2008 where he was shelled and failed to go 5 innings were all fairly recent .
@ Minny 4 inn 11h 6run was followed by

@ Sea 9 inn 1r 4h

@Balt 2.1 inn 8h 7er followed by

vs WSox 6 inn 5h 3 r

Last year it happened 4 times-what followed ??

7 inn 5h 2 r @ Minny
6inn 4h 2r @ Oak
5,1 inn 4h 1r vs Texas
5 inn 11h 3 er @ Boston( Green Monster= terrible place for a LHP)

In 2006 happened once
7 inn 2h 0r @ Sea....

Wish I could say great track record but the Tigers are 3-4 with Robertson getting some NDs.....

DET +1.5 RL and 1st 5 inn seem very attractive but like with Philly looks like there are asking for WSOX money.....under 10.5 seems very attractive as well...5-4 game IMO

See Reynolds is in Seattle tomorrow night. He has been a fabulous over umpire this year.

Mlb.com and usatoday both had Reynolds at 1B in L.A. last night. He should be behind the plate there, not Seattle, which is very good news for counseler.

Winters should be in Seattle

I am busy as hell today, but I'd like to hear someone breakdown the Dodgers/Cardinals game. Heavy lean toward Billingsley and LA.

Weather in Chicago should be overcast for the game, cool, and a decent breeze. The rain should stay away today but we took a pounding here last night. Expect the the grass to be pretty wet still. My book doesn't have a total yet so I guess they are waiting to see what the wind will do. Wouldn't say this is the best conditions for there to be a lot of runs scored but I do think the Cubs take this one. Looking into RL

Crazy expensive for Cubbies....

Dont see value in the RL and even seems like they want you to take it .

Messed around with some parlays ...(Cubs, Tigers, Marlins , RedSox or Yanks)

BOL...Guessing Cubs 4-3 .....Would prefer 1st 5 inn ML to game ML...still expensive ......

Well tee, 7 runs through 2 in Chicago. Pretty good start for you, hope they keep it up and grab another for you

Orioles purchased the contract of LHP Chris Waters from Triple-A Norfolk.
Waters will start Tuesday against the Angels despite going 3-6 with a 5.70 ERA at Triple-A. His MLB debut may be the only big league action he sees.

i don't understand how you can constantly bet your favorite team over and over and over again. I hope you're profiting, but it must sting worse when you bet them and they don't pull through for ya.

I don't bet their games constantly. I'm the first person to post and say when I don't like their chances or urge caution when others like them and I don't feel the same way.

Maybe I've bet them a lot lately but that has more to do with the competition than the Phillies. I'm looking to fade teams that have quit(Washington, Atlanta, SD) at every opportunity and the Phillies just got done playing Washington and Atlanta.

I think the Phillies have a big edge tonight. I could be wrong, we'll find out. At this current moment for the next two nights I see no edge in the Phillies worth that's worth betting. The Marlins are probably a good value against Hamels as he has struggled some in his last two starts, struggles in day games and the Marlins hit him better than most.

I try not to bet their games and I'll never bet against them after learning my lesson the hard way last year(faded JD Durbin big time against the Dodgers, somehow the Phillies won the game).

By my unofficial records, they are 12-5 when I bet their games and if I bet the games where I think thought they would lose the record would be something like 20-8.

By the way, that 87.5 is going to get blown out of the water. 92-70.

Its been Over 2 months since Cincy has posted 4 straight Under results, they currently sit on 2 straight.

Milwaukee has a season high 8 road game Under streak in play at the moment.

Looking at the details of the pitching match-ups for tonight & tomorrow night, plus the weather forecasts & ump details, I'm willing to chase the fact the Brewers will not make it to 10 straight road Under results/Cincy 4 straight Under results.

1st stage, small bet on Over 9.5 tonight

Now to show how opposite Music and I are on this series @ Philadelphia . I think Hamels probably presents some great value . His last 2 outings were fantastic @ Florida and the PEN lost both. Then again his past 2 starts are poor so not sure about current form . As well as LHP seemingly doing well @ Prop Player vs FLA.

Also I dont think MCG over bets "his " team . When you follow a team closely that whats happens you see alot of things that could form an opinion ...

GL fellas ...only touched Oak and FLA ML & +1.5 plus smaller over plays ...couldnt decide on the 7:10 and they went OTB . Probably would have forced TB , Cincy and SD +1.5 RL ...

Big reason for OAK was they have 5 LHBs and really are about the same type offense as TB IMO (slightily weaker ) . TB LH went 7-14 off Richmond and this was also an obvious problem for him in the minors . Tor struggles badly at times vs LHP and think current lineup was like 6-36 with no bbs against Greg Smith..

(Oak just scored1-0)

Lannan real solid on the road especially compared to home (also terrible run support)but want to see lineups here . COL is very good at home vs LHP and have to check the record and o/u still ( forgot what it was ) . Wash as well much better offense vs LHP compared to RHP . There decisions to cut the veterans and freshen up the clubhouse seem to have worked some wonders. Like the new middle IF Bonafacio and Gonzalez . Dukes and Zimmerman ?? Belliard huge bat as well not sure where they can stick him though ...1b? maybe Zimmerman at 1st base ...

DeLaRosa tough to figure both pens are question marks as well ....

Tough call either way IMO...

not having cable is crap i hate comcast.. wish i could be watching some games currently.... rant done

nats next year have a nice little team.. i wonder what they will do with lanahan next year if he will close or start? zimmerman needs to get his head out of his ass though.. he is an intricate part

Tough call either way IMO...

GL !

Gotta like the Nats tonight with that much plus money.

Never crazy about road chalk especially when you get above -140 but playing Yanks and RSox ( have both in parlays as well) .

ALready mentioned Pettitte and how NYY has responded for him after he loses a start. As I said on Monday if you have to pay -160 clearly Pettitte vs Harrison is the better situation to play it . Texas weaker vs LHSP and Harrison a huge downgrade from Padilla . Figure Yanks have the best edge here in the remaining games. Ponson is a gamer but tough to know what to expect and Tex roped him up in NYY and Moose a soft tosser in that park is scary while Feldman was good vs NYY 1sttime but at least we have seen him...

Mo is available as everyone outside of Marte who has kinda stunk his past 2 outings as a Yankee . The rest of the pen has been excellent outside of a bad inning by Robertson vs BALT but this kid is legit (I think of Scott Shields type setup guy when I see him) and Edwar deciding to throw changeups on full counts (and ahead in general) to slap hitting LHs vs LAA then tex hist a bomb...

Not sure how crazy I am about NYY 7-9 . Molina does hit MUCH better when he spots starts rather then plays everyday . Last game he was 3-3 HR . Sexson has killed LH so the only reason is I love Jason Giambi ...my man crush ...j/k ...lol!!! Giambi killed it yesterday and hate to bench him when he is real streaky ....Christian is havoc on the bases with his speed which is ahuge plus but love Melky's defense in CF but he hasnt hit a lick in 2 months ...Christian would seemingly do well vs a matt Harrison ...

Texas bottom of the order sits Vazquez who has been excellent for youngster Metcalf still trying to find his way . Pettitte still death on LH at 183 and scary the 318 vs RHB is a solid improvement ...Boggs 234 vs LH with 24Ks in 64abs...Davis really doing well and hitting LH but hopefully Pettitte's 183 is more indicative of what happens...Murphy real clutch lately is LH...no Bradley..

Wind picking up from the trop storm or hurricane whatever they categorize it . So may add OVER....

Would not play NYY 1st 5 though cause I worry about Texas having some early momentum after the walkoff GS.....

Hmm of the two Boston worries me abit more and might try and middle it ...KC +1.5

Also Yanks had won 10 STRAIGHT @ TEXAS before yesterday and were something like 13-2 since late 2004...

Also as I said last nite DET ML and RL. Looks like the OVER is the play just based on how they set it and it going higher but didnt touch it ...BOL

got soxs and yanks parlayed too, but feel more comfortable with soxs

Dave Bush is 2 hitting a team on the road, and has recorded 16 straight outs without giving up a baserunner.

Only when I back an Over of his.

The best thing about Wash is they are starting to streak with 4 straight wins. Looking at everything though outside of that not much to like really IMO about Wash .

Wash 19-37 which is about 34%
Lannan is 6-15 29% BUT
4-5 2.57 ERA away 12 starts .248 BAA(4-8 in starts though for WASH)
Night though .273 BAA vs .233 Day

COL 12-5 at home vs LHSP (8-2 L10/6-4 O)
Over 9-3 L12 vs LHP @ Home after 2-3 start to the season
J.Sanchez beat them twice
Cubs beat them when R.Hill started thanks to blown saves by Rockies
Stults beat them when Kip Wells threw BP for an inning or so (8-0 after top 1st)
Hendrickson "beat" Cook as FLA avoided 4 game sweep.

COL 11-4 L15 at home - no consecutive losses
COL 21-10 L31 at home since they lost consecutive games to the same opponent at home

Lannan an INSANE 11 of 12 EXTREMELY HIGH QUALITY ROAD starts . Only Mets 12 hits and 4 runs in 6inn did anythng of note vs him.

Run Support away 9 of 12 3runs or less
Opponents Scoring away 9 of 12 3 runs or less

Lannan 4 terrible starts including last one has bounced back in teh prior three.....

COL had won 7 straight at home vs Wash before yesterday

Wash 7-10 away vs LHSP only 20-35 vs RHSP

Francis off the DL tmrw could be a worse option then DeLaRosa but Perez defiently alot worse then Lannan away....alot...which I think pushed Jimine back who has been great when on normal rest but so-so otherwise but he is HOT as hell right now...

Who can figure DeLa Rosa ???

Nats pen doing well of late as well......

CONCLUSION : PASS

Total- I understand why people like the under does make some sense especially with a 10 here . Yesterday was 9.5 with Cook clearly alot better SP then DeLaRosa and redding on the road isnt that far behind Lannan if you look at the big picture ..

SIDE - Wash is hot and tough to fade a HOT team with the better SP and somewhere around +150 and there pen has been real good. Hard to see Odalis winning @ COL unless Francis is absloute crap and puts his team down 7-0 but as good as Jiminez has been hate that he is off his routine & bergmann is solid most days...

Wash 10-26 in game 2s and 4-11 after a win but this is the NEW Nats I guess..Nats 4-11 on Tuesday

GL in how what syou guys play I cant see much either way and understand both arguements(for Wash-Und) as they are solid...

Have the AWAY teams ML small so WASh winning would help

yeah definetly an UNDER nite today ..have some overs myself that dont look so good...Wish ya LUCK...Bush on normal rest very good not sure he is here but generally he gets pushed back on the road because he is the #5 SP . Sort of slips under the radar when looking at Home-Away splits...:cheers:BOL:shake:

lets go Tejas

Yanks game just had a terrible vibe . Knew texas would have early momentum but this is crazy ....3 DPs ...Yanks hit a rocket for a DP by Sexson , two lazy hacks for DPs by Jeter and Arod with 1out and no out both followed by singles( Abreu's was to start the next inning) .

Hamilton got a hanger and mashed it ...but metcalf hits a shit grounder to score a run and now Byrd steals 2nd base tough to do off Andy and Molina , gets to 3rd on a weak grounder in front of him and you get man on 3rd less then 2 out with IF in....
