Pacers should be a solid play tonight. They were really pissed at their defense in Denver. Now, off a loss, they should really make a statement.

11 points. It should be s double digits win.
Though as I said before Portland, Pacers are bad ATS wise in revenge games. Only cover was by one point...

Here is what West said after the loss in Denver:
"They ran the same play the whole game (pick-and-roll)," West said. "We couldn't get it under control and then we just fouled them. They would have beaten us by almost 40 points if they made their free throws. They shot 56 percent from the free throw line. They make 10 more and it wouldn't have been a close game."

I think that Indiana will be looking to make a defensive statement.

Shaw faces his former club (was an assistant coach there before coming to Denver).

i am not a fan of Denver on the road and Indy has not exactly played great in "statement" or " Revenge" games.. see Phoenix..

@divol: i wouldn't lay more than 5 to 7 points on Indiana at the moment. They have lost their momentum since a few games now. They were shut out by 24 points by Phoenix and lost outright @home as an 11 point favorite vs phoenix. They lost vs a bad orlando team, they should have lost vs Portland. But more importantly, IND suck in B2B . they are just 7-6 SU and have a negative pt differential in B2B whereas DEN is 19-12 off 1 day rest. If a team is "due" for a bounce back it will be denver or nobody since they had 2 brutal losses in their last 2 games.
Nuggets are 39-19 ATS in their last 58 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600.
Pacers are 0-6 ATS in their last 6 games when their starting 5 players combine for more than 160 minutes of the previous day.
Nuggets are 12-3 ATS in their last 15 games after allowing more than 125 points in their previous game.
Underdog is 4-0 ATS in the last 4 meetings.
Nuggets are 7-2 ATS in the last 9 meetings in Indiana.

but good luck with your play even if it' like playing russian roulette with IND on this one for me.
oh and yeah Pacers are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 vs. Western Conference, since western conf is better than eastern conference except miami and indiana. They wouldn't have their 39-11 record in the west conf.

Also some interest in Detroit. Coach change is always a good reason to be in my opinion.
On top of that Spurs got Belineli and Splitter questionable, on top of Kawhi and Manu being out.
If Splitter is out, I really can't see who can battle the Pistons in the paint...

Like the Pistons, situationally.

I might be back to the fade Philly 1Q and 1H theory. It looks like the trade rumors of Turner, Hawes, and Young are really getting to them. This team has quit and stopped giving any effort on D. The Sixers might not lose by 40 again, but I can see a blowout for sure.

I am not exactly lunging at anything right now. Would caution GS bettors that GS plays Heat next game

from BC's thread...

toronto in this spot.... but they have had two days off and the west coast trip was ok for them....

Teams off 5+ game road trips

1st Game Back - Eastern teams

Overall ..............................
........... 71-96-1

As the Fav .................................... 44-72-1
As the Dog ................................... 27-24

vs Conference teams ..................... 52-63
vs non-Conference teams ............... 19-33-1

vs Conf teams as a Fav ................................. 34-47
vs Conf teams as a Dog ................................ 18-16

vs non-Conf teams as a Fav .......................... 10-25-1
vs non-Conf teams as a Dog ........................... 9-8

I don't know what to do with the pistons... normally a coaching change is a good thing for the team the first couple games back... but how much of the team really thought he had to go? Cheeks was let go after two big wins... it wasnt like the team was in a dire mess

Rondo wont be playing today... i agree with milwaukee, this is a very winnable game for them and the team is better than their record shows and has a better current roster than boston imo

plus milwaukee is more rested

had a big lean to Milw. but dont like their injuries again..Sanders and ilyasova both questionable...

Splitter is out tonight for Spurs...

How much should these injuries affect the total?

only real lean and likely small play will be Indiana for obvious reasons. Even tho this reasoning fell on its face vs phoenix, sticking with what I believe is sound reasoning

pistons over 50.5

3rd qtr over pistons 51

looking at few other quarter plays..

questions, thoughts, concerns?

I think 11 is too much to be laying with the pacers right now. 2 dd wins in last 11 games played. Line inflated because of the Nuggets getting thrashed in b2b road games, don't think it's a blow today.

See a lot of reasonable bets. Decided to go with 1 bet today that fit my betting perfectly.
GS under 214. Reasoning
GS is off 2 overs and has never had 4 consecutive overs.
GS as a 10 plus fav went over at home in their first game and since then has gone under 5 in a row.

I will be backing Philly tonight. Talk about being embarrassed. My god, easy look ahead for GS as well with the Heat on deck. Also think there is some value with the Pelicans from yesterdays result. BC's thread helps as well.

  • Minnesota coach Rick Adelman will miss tonight’s game for personal reasons. He missed 11 games last season due to his wife’s illness, all in January. Terry Porter will take Adelman’s place tonight. The team said that they expect that Adelman will be able to return to the Wolves bench on Wednesday vs. Denver.
  • Kevin Love is expected to play in tonight’s game after being a late scratch due to a left thigh contusion on Saturday night against Portland. In a pre-game interview, he said: “The rest did me some good; I can bend the leg a little more. Still not 100 percent, but I’m going to go out there and give it a go.”
  • The Wolves will be without the services of Nikola Pekovic (right ankle) and Kevin Martin who suffered a non-displaced fracture in his left thumb on Friday at New Orleans.
  • Kevin Love has a chance tonight to put his name in the record books in two different places. He has recorded four straight 25/15 games and no one has has more than that since Charles Barkley did it six times in the row in the 1989-90 season. And Love has had three straight games with 17+ free throws attempted. If he matches that number tonight he will join Wilt Chamberlain and Oscar Robertson in the record books who both had four straight games with 17+ FTAs in 1964.
  • Houston has won three of their last four games against Minnesota including a 112-101 home victory on November 23.. Houston made 17 three-pointers that victory.
  • Omer Asik will play tonight for Houston. He returned to the lineup on Sunday against Milwaukee and played 11 minutes.

[h=2]PELICANS AT RAPTORS, 7 P.M. ET[/h] February 10, 2014 · 6:45PM
TV: League Pass

  • The Toronto Raptors (26-24) return home from a five-game road trip, for two games at home prior to the All-Star break. They face the New Orleans Pelicans (22-28), a team they have won five consecutive games against.

  • The Pelicans started a three-game road trip with a 93-81 loss in Brooklyn on Sunday. The Raptors have won eight of their last ten at Air Canada Centre.

  • Raptors forward Amir Johnson will be out of the line-up with a sore right ankle, Patrick Patterson replaces him in the starting line-up.

  • Raptors guard Greivis Vasquez will face his former team for the first time since being traded by New Orleans in the off-season to Sacramento. Last season Vasquez averaged a career-best 13.9 points and 9.0 assists, in New Orleans, while starting 78 games and was runner-up in the NBA’s Most Improved layer Award voting.

  • “He was a bright spot for me. He came in and worked his tail off and had his best year with us, I was fortunate to coach him.”
    – Pelicans Head Coach Monty Williams on Vasquez.

[h=2]SPURS AT PISTONS, 7:30 P.M. ET[/h] February 10, 2014 · 6:40PM
TV: League Pass

  • The Spurs will be missing three of their regulars — center Tiago Splitter (right shin contusion), forward Kawhi Leonard (fractured hand) and guard Manu Ginobili (left hamstring tightness). Danny Green, Tim Duncan and Boris Diaw are the probable frontcourt starters with Cory Joseph and Tony Parker in the backcourt.
  • Guard Marco Belinelli, who missed San Antonio’s 104-100 win at Charlotte on Saturday, will be in uniform.
  • Coach Gregg Popovich is concerned about Detroit center Andre Drummond’s rebounding dominance. Drummond is third in the league at 13.0 per game. “He knows what his game is and that’s really important in a player, to know what your strengths are and make that apparent night after night,” he said.
  • Detroit’s interim coach, John Loyer, will make his debut tonight. Mo Cheeks was fired on Sunday after the club went 21-29 during the first 50 games. He will keep using the same lineup that produced back-to-back wins over the weekend — Drummond, Greg Monroe and Josh Smith up front and Kyle Singler and Brandon Jennings in the backcourt.
  • Loyer doesn’t want to shake things up too much initially. “I told our guys it’s going to be a gradual process,” he said. “Playing hard supersedes anything we could possibly change, so we have to start there. There are things we have to tweak on both sides of the ball and we’ll gradually do that.
  • Assistant coach Rasheed Wallace, who has been sitting behind the bench, will move to the front. Wallace retired as a player last season and returned to Detroit, where he won a championship in 2004.

[h=2]NUGGETS AT PACERS, 7 P.M. ET[/h] February 10, 2014 · 6:36PM
TV: League Pass

  • Brian Shaw returns to Indianapolis with a severely shorthanded team. Shaw, who spent the previous two seasons as Frank Vogel’s associate head coach, has no healthy point guards with Ty Lawson out until after the All-Star break with a fractured rib sustained in a 126-109 loss in Detroit Saturday. Nate Robinson has been out with a left knee injury. Shaw pondered starting Evan Fournier at shooting guard next to Randy Foye at the point, but opted for 6-10 Quincy Miller instead.

  • “It’s very challenging, especially considering one position is completely wiped out, our point guard position, so trying to figure out how we’re going to get the ball upcourt, get into our offense and get everything set,” Shaw said. “Fortunately for us, we have some pretty versatile players in our big positions that can handle the ball so they will end up taking a lot of the ballhandling responsibility and trying to get us into our stuff. I can’t promise you what it’s going to look like but we’re going to get out there and compete.”

  • Vogel expects Shaw to use his knowledge of the Pacers’ schemes and personnel as much as possible but that the greater issue is how to compensate for the absence of point guards. “It’s going to be a different kind of attack for them,” Vogel said. “They don’t have a true point guard out there so it’s going to be the ball in Randy Foye’s hands a lot and their big guys. I expect Wilson Chandler to try to carry some of the scoring load, so they’ll be different.”

  • The Pacers are coming off a 93-92 loss in Orlando Sunday night and are 7-6 on the second-night of back-to-back games. They’re also just 1-2 in game decided by three points or less. The Pacers have played an NBA-high 28 games decided by 10 points or more, going 22-6. Is it possible their dominance has worked against them when it comes to close games? “I don’t know about that,” Vogel said. “We got down and battled back, thought we made plays to give ourselves a chance in a close game. We just didn’t finish that last shot. Hopefully it doesn’t work against us.”

  • Indiana had a chance to win in the closing seconds in Orlando but Paul George opted to take a well-guarded jump shot rather than pass to either David West open under the basket or George Hill open on the right wing. He missed. “I love that Paul wants that shot in that moment,” Vogel said, “but I think he realizes he had some guys open.”

  • The lineup of Foye, Miller, Chandler, Kenneth Faried and J.J. Hickson will be the 13[SUP]th[/SUP] of the season for the Nuggets, who are without Danilo Gallinari (left knee) and JaVale McGee (stress fracture, left leg).

  • The Pacers will start their usual crew of Hill, Lance Stephenson, George, West and Roy Hibbert. Andrew Bynum is inactive and Orlando Johnson is with Fort Wayne of the D-League.

[h=2]CELTICS AT BUCKS, 8 P.M. ET[/h] February 10, 2014 · 7:31PM
TV: League Pass

  • Bucks center Larry Sanders will be out until at least after the all-star break — and possibly much longer — after it was learned he has an orbital fracture of his right eye. The injury occurred with 7:37 left in the first quarter of Saturday night’s loss to the Houston Rockets as Sanders and James Harden battled for a rebound. The injury continues a season where Sanders just can’t seem to build any momentum. He missed just under two months following thumb surgery in early November and had just started to get a rhythm. He posted a career-high 25 points and a season-high 15 rebounds last Wednesday at Denver, then got injured early in the Saturday’s game. “It’s really unfortunate because the kid had been playing well,” Bucks coach Larry Drew said. “He was starting to play with a rhythm, and he had played two of his better games of the year.” Drew said Sanders was still experiencing double-vision Monday morning. Veteran Zaza Pachulia will start in Sanders’ place.
  • The Celtics will be shorthanded at guard with both Avery Bradley and Rajon Rondo out. Bradley has a sore right ankle and he will have an MRI on Tuesday morning. Rondo, who debuted this season Jan. 17 from an torn anterior cruciate ligament, is not playing the second night of back-to-back games. Celtics coach Brad Stevens said that Rondo would be to playing in back-to-backs “very soon. We are still within a month of his return, so once we get outside that month, possibly on he west-coast road trip, you could see him playing in back-to-back games once again.” The Celtics will start Phil Pressey and Gerald Wallace at guard, with Jeff Green and Brandon Bass at forward and Jared Sullinger — the Eastern Conference Player of the Week — at center. Center Vitor Faverani (sore left knee) also did not make the trip. Stevens said he would be evaluated again before Wednesday’s home game vs. San Antonio.
  • With just nine victories in their first 50 games, the Bucks are looking to beat the Celtics for the third time this season. Milwaukee beat Boston on Nov. 1, lost its next 11 games and then ended the skid with a victory over the Celtics on Nov. 30. Stevens said his team can’t worry about such matters. “Our mentality has to be about us and continuing to improve and play the way we want to play,” Stevens said. “I thought we played really well last week and won three games and then played good at times last night but couldn’t overcome our lack of shooting.”
  • Forward Ekpe Udoh (ankle) and guard Luke Ridnour (back spasms) will return to action for the Bucks. Udoh missed the previous eight games, while Ridnour left the Denver game last Wednesday early and then sat out Saturday’s game against Houston. Guard O.J. Mayo (illness/conditioning), forwards Ersan Ilyasova (back) and Caron Butler (ankle) remain out.
