Can you bet this?

I feel pretty confident the celtics are going to make the playoffs, can I make a bet on this anywhere

Maybe if you go to Vegas but I don't think any online sportsbook will offer that. I would set it at like -150

-150??? What am I missing? Who did they sign?

It's the celtics. They'll be just fine. They got very good pieces from the nets, they got a very capable coach and the eastern conference is still weak on the bottom. Don't see how you can expect plus money on that

What?? They're tanking

I think that it's safe to assume that Heat, Nets, Knicks, Pacers, Bulls and Hawks will finish above them.
I think that Wizards, if they will be healthy, should be above them as well.
That leaves Boston, Bucks, Cleveland, Pistons and Toronto battling for the final 8th seed.
I think that Pistons and Cleveland have the best chance, so I would put Boston at plus odds here, especially since the chances of them tanking are decent.

I don't see how tanking will work, unless they trade Rondo. They aren't gonna be one of the worst teams in the league, no way

You have absolutely no idea if Stevens can translate his success at this level. Celtics said the same thing about Pitino about 15 years ago and he was a bust.

Alex how much you want to bet on the Celtics making the playoffs, I will take the other side.

Well you're right it's the wildcard. But most people believe he will do more good than bad. And that would be reflected in the line.

On paper I like the celtics team much more than I like the raptors, magic, wizards, bucks, sixers...bobcats are interesting but they are the bobcats.

The cavs could make it very interesting

Again, it depends when rondo is back..i think they are a playoff team if rondo plays majority of the season...are the hawks really better?

The celtics have so much more size now. Gonna make a huge difference. Hump is a very viable option. He needs consistent minutes. Something's he didn't get on the nets

At what odds?

The answer to the question is "no". At least I have never seen it offered. Season wins, to win division , to win conference, to win it all .... but I have never seen an nba to make the playoffs prop. For someone above,,,, vegas offers little to no exotics unless it is the super bowl or huge fight etc ..... All the money being bet is offshore, all the line creation is from offshore, all the props/exotics are offshore...vegas is a joke.

it depends on the odds you provide and Rondo. I would like to bring this back up closer to the season when I have a clearer picture. But as of this moment if this team stays the same I see them making a run at the 7 or 8 seed.

Pitino didn't have any developed players like Rondo on the Celtics when he first started. What Stevens already understands is that in the NBA the team is run by the players not the team. He's proven that to me by saying that he will adjust to what Rondo wants to do.

What do you mean? "it is the celtics?"

What very good pieces did they get from the Nets?
-Humphries - guy was benched on an average team,, he was part of the deal for the expiring contract - will be traded
-Brooks - athletic - still a long way to go
-Bogans- good locker room leadership
-Gerald Wallace - average player - has his moments
Don't see anyone on this list that is a very good player?? and 2 of the 4 will probably be traded..

I believe Washington is in a very good position to push for the 6th over the hawks..also believe with some good health the Cavs get in there,,,then detroit.

Rondo won't be back before January 1 and either way they lose more with him - he needs very good players to compliment his game, he will get frustrated when he doesn't have a KG or Pierce to create matchup problems and then to bail him out.. his defense will also be exposed as he won't have the help defense behind him when he plays the passing lanes or goes for the steals.

Stevens knows the situation, that is why he got 6 years years instead of 3/4...

Where in the world did you see that news on rondo?

I dont think
they will trade hump but we will see

and what i mean that they are the celtics is that Ainge isnt going to just let the team go into rebuilding mode... if that was the case he would have brought in a low profile no name coach for a couple years... not one of the best and highest profile college coaches in the country

Did you guys see the joke of a press conference they had when they unveiled the pieces they got from the Nets

Pretty embarrassing stuff

And a lot of "capable college coaches" have come to the NBA and done absolutely jack...

You have to take the opinion of certain ppl here with a grain of salt. They have such strong statements and opinions about just about every topic but seem to be wrong the majority of the time when all is said and done

No need to name names but we all know who I'm talking about

If someone finds a place that offers + money they miss lemme know

Divols list is on point and I would put toronto/cleveland/detroit a step above boston

They are opinions. They always have to be taken with a grain of salt. Put some of your opinions out there.

Your opinion on the C's getting very good players is incorrect. i stated above
Your opinion on them not trading humphries is incorrect - what is the benefit of holding on to an expiring contract, when he can be an adequate back up to a contender.
the above in red is incorrect --- Danny needs to clear money, so that when he does make a trade for a young player to build around (similar to the idea of Harden trade) he has the cap space- he can't publicly say he is tanking and again he signed the coach to 6 years, gives them time to clear space, bring in new players and compete....
Really don't know why you find this so hard to understand,,,, they are not the first team to do this nor the last...

If u had to bet, I'd bet the Celts DON'T make the playoffs. Rondo is going to be one frustrated player.

You'll get big plus money, this team's goal is to bottom out within the next 12 months, preferably with rondo coming back healthy, playing well, and getting traded as a result. 20 wins more probable than a playoff berth.

Who's ther 2nd best player?

Keep in mind this team was bobcats-level bad whenever kg stepped off the court last year. That's not an exaggeration.

No odds, straight up bet. Let me know.

Rondo
Bradley
Green
Bass
Olynk

Brooks
Crawford
Wallace
Humpfries

Also without Rondo part of the year. How on earth are they better then the Wizards, Cavs, Pistons? Are they better than Toronto?

Until January at the earliest jeff green is option 1 on O

They have no rush to being rondo back

They are drafting in the top 5 next year

OK Alex, have you thought about it...

I will take the other side and say Boston doesn't make the playoffs.

Gotta bet ?
