2014 Golf

TheLaw4

Pretty much a regular
I dont want to jack crawdads thread with my plays and we dont have enough participating golf members to do a weekly thread so I reckon Ill start my own for the year. Had a solid year last year although it ended very blah during silly season.

Put some short thoughts up in craws thread and wanted to fade Sneds with him but the good price is long gone. Dustin Johnson withdrew from the pro am today with a funky neck, so I did some shopping and found a good price for a mini fade.

Webb Simpson -110 over Dustin Johnson $55/$50

I got Brandt matched up against Billy Horschel. Snedeker being -140. Any quick thought on that one Law?

Thanks guys. And no worries FootballNut, glad to have another golf guy around. Make sure you pop in and pick crawdads brain too, he's a good guy. As for Sneds this week, I wouldn't look to bet on him at all. He hurt his knee a few months back and this is a tough course to come back to. Not sure how it will hold up walking the course for four days.

One play so far for this week.

Chris Kirk -125 over Jimmy Walker $62.50/$50
-Kirk has been more consistent here over the years and had a T5 last season. He also finds more fairways off the tee, which is quite important this week.

Good luck this year bro. Looking to get into golf for small stakes. I'm looking to play some Round 1 matchups but not sure where to start lol

Thanks guys.

Lots of golf left, but yeah Jimmy needs to calm down with all these birdies.

1-2 -$85

Tough to lose your bet when your guy takes 2nd but I found a way to do it this week.

On to the next one

Humana Challenge this week. Will be lots of low scoring on these three courses as the fairways are generous and courses are short. Already locked one play in.

Ryan Palmer -120 over Charley Hoffman $120/$100
Palmer is a guy who goes in streaks. He's in a good one right now. Finished t8 last week at Sony and has played well here in the past with three top 10s (t6 last year). He's a big hitter who loves to attack pins so he should make lots of birdies this week.

Still looking over the rest of the card. Will probably have another play our two.

Adding:

Robert Garrigus -140 over Jonas Blixt $70/$50
-Similar to Ryan Palmer, Garrigus is a long hitter who should be able to attack pins all week and score well on the par 5's. He's been playing pretty well early on this season and has a good history here, most recently a t16 last year and t2 in 2012.

Adding two props or futures or whatever you want to call them.

Brian Stuard Top 10 +530
$20/$106
Scott Stallings Top 10 +1300 $10/$130
-Two guys I like this week but don't really like their match ups. Both can pile up birdies in bunches, so decided to take shots with these.

Will be all for me this week. Good luck everyone.

I lied. One more play. This is pretty much a course situational play

Billy Horschel -125 over Rickie Fowler (Round 1) $62.50/$50
-Billy gets to start at the Palmer course while Fowler starts at the tougher La Quinta.

Tailed. Lets get it

Saw it just in time, lol. Was looking for something too to pass time at work

btw how has signalcaller been? have you still been in touch with him? once i got a new phone i lost everyones number, haven't heard from him in awhile

Well Stuard and Palmer had nice Sundays to give me a nice week.

2-1 matchups for $87.50
1-1 futures for $96.00

Overall 3-3 matchups, 1-1 futures (+$98.50)

Nice field this week at Torrey Pines.

LOL. Crazy, I checked my accoutn this morning and saw I had an extra $115 in it. I was like WTF? So I looked, apparently I took Horschel over Fowler for the entire tournament

Did you see what happened? He was down -12 to Fowlers -17, and went birdie, eagle, birdie, birdie, birdie to finish the round, while Fowler bogeyed 18. And he won by 1 stroke.

Just thought I'd share even though I knew you only had 1st round. Crazy win

Still looking at full tourney matchups, but I'm going to try something this week. Did it small scale last well and it didn't really work out but all those courses were getting scored to easily. This week half the field starts on the 7500+ yard south course which played to half a stroke over par, while the other half gets the 7000 yard north course which played two strokes easier last year. I picked some spots I think could play well. Here goes nothing.

Round 1 plays
NO ACTION

Still waiting on some books to release their first round matchups.

Amazing how far Ogilvy has fallen, that he is paired with Kim.

By the way the books voided all bets last week where the first round matchups werent on the same course..

Ahh shit 5D is like that you're right. I'm sure I'll be hearing from them about this. I made my Horschel bet at sportsbook last week and that got graded. All that work for nothing I guess. Thanks for the heads up

well lets just say i had fowler on this one and it fucking sucked.. had a nice sized bet at a good +money price too.. fuck me

Corrected post above to remove the 1st round plays. Going to be No Actioned. Will add any tourney plays as I make them.

Not yet, but I talked to them. I didnt want then to think I was trying to pull some funny business.

Are you going to play any futures on the Farmers Insurance? I played Bubba Watson @ 35-1 for $15...

I havent decided about futures yet. Bubba is a solid choice though. Others Im looking are Snedeker +2200, Haas +2800, Day +3200 and Leishman +8000. Good luck this week.

Played two matchups and two top 10s.

Russell Knox -150 over Andres Romero $75/$50
Pat Perez -125 over Colsaerts $62.50/$50

Jason Day Top 10 +275 $30/$82.50
Marc Leishman Top 10 +500 $20/$100

Dont really have any news. Just think hes been playing some steady golf this year and has a pretty good history here, with top 25s the last three years. Colsaerts hasnt played much the past few months and is coming off a MC last week. Par 5 scoring and putting seem to be important here, and he doesnt really excel in either of those.

Hope that helps some.
