We have 7 games @ 1PM :

Zona travels to NE:
Looks like RAIN and probably SNOW with temps in the low 30's .
Boldin looks doubtful but with Breaston as the third WR not that big of deal as Urban can slide into his spot . Arington might miss but we may have Edge James sighting .

Clearly a HUGE concern for me is the weather as a dome in Zona to the freezing slop of the NorthEast is quite the difference . Hopefully Warner can channel his NYG days but guys like Cromartie who will be covering Moss have never played in this weather .

Cards off an embarrassing blowout loss and NE off 2 key road wins fighting for their playoff lives . Zona is 0-4 traveling East so far and 2-19 SU L21 games EAST..They have also now lost 3 of 4 and for that reason even though locked into a 4 spot cant see them punting this game . Can they afford to start the playoffs 1-5 if they lose next week??

Pats are 22-2 L24 DEC games but suprisingly only 2-5 ATS at home this season and 2-10 L12 ATS going back to last season. Cards are 7-3 ATS L10away as dogs between 3.5 and 10pts , 5-1ATS off DD home losses and 13-5 ATS off SU losses. Pats only 3-11ATS off their L14 SU wins, 1-8 ATS off L9 SU wins , 1-8 ATS off the last 9 games they scored 30+ pts and 0-6 ATS off the L6 wins by 14+ points...

Matt Light is questionable , it appears Lewis Sanders will again play safety for James Sanders and ILB Guyton is questionable obviously a position decimated by injury .

With weather being a question mark the run games become huge . While NE has the edge on theground for the most part Zona has been solid against the run this year even slightily better then NE has .

If NOT for the weather this game might see fireworks as Rod Hood has struggled in coverage and the cards have allowed 31 pass TDs and Cromartie has not played in weather like this . Pats can be turnover prone and Cards have forced 27 . Now has Cassel played in weather like this either ?? Size mismatch with Larry Fitzgerald at 6'3 and NE corners 5'9 and 5'11.....

Does Warner get SB revenge ????????????????

Miami travels to KC:
The KEY question is how does KC recover from that CHOKE last week? They have had some rough ones including the TB game blwoing a 24-3 lead but that was a meltdown like no other . Can they bounce back? Thats the one element I cant account for and its hard to say but imteresting that ex-Jets coach gets to face Miami again.

Now lets throw in 10 degree weather and 20 MPH winds!!

Miami is 7-1 SU L8 and not allowed more then 19 pts in any of the wins but NE in the loss shredded them for 48 ! They are just 3-4 ATS and 1-4 ATS as FAVS. All season just 1-5 ATS as favs covering a -1 hosting Buffalo which they opened UNDERDOGS in . They have won 4 of the last 5 road games losing only by 1 @ Houston since the embarrassment @ Zona in Game 2 of 2008. However Buffalo twice , Oak , SF and SEA at home in early starts and @ STL are 6 wins plus one @ Denver when the Broncos were unraveling.....

KC is 6-2 ATS L8 since almost winning @ NY and somewhat turning the season around despite winning just 1 of 8 games as they lost 4 they could have won and lead late. KC saw Petersen step down this week and rumblings Edwards is next but he denies them. The players LOVE Edwards though and probably why the have bounced back previously..

Run defense could be huge with the wind and last week KC shutdown LT had previously struggled all season. While the Miami ground attack has really tappered off since the NE game where it blossomed in the wildcat formation.

Lean KC but how they bounce back after last week an issue. Phins just 5-22 ATS L27 times favored and 5-16-1ATS as favs of 3.5 to 10 pts, 7-23-1 ATS with teams of losing records and 5-16 ATS after accumulating less then 250 yards..Also think Balt's win hurt the WC chances for Miami ...

Pitt travels to Tenny :

Huge game for both but one I dont think Tenny can afford to lose . Haynesworth will miss and so will KVB which is of great concern . However the past few weeks it hasnt been impossible to run on Pitt about 68c310yds from the features backs L3 weeks..which is key with Tenny obviously ...no doubt Pitt is the better team but does the past few weeks of SB type games @ NE , vs Dallas and @ Balt come into play ??? Have to think it will...

Actually with the defensive absences see the OVER 34 as attractive....have to lean Tenny still IMO as its just a huge game for them IMO and Pitt skating by just to many times...the Pitt OL is still weak and the running game hasnt done enough...

Bengals @ Browns :

Cincy got a gift wrapped win last week and CLE gets a team more on its level after playing Indy then @ Tenny and @ Philly . However CLE is banged up and Cincy has been nothing but banged up.

Cincy is 0-7 away and barely competitive in most . The Brwons defense has played well but been on the field way to long lately still forcoing a ton of turnovers . This week they get their offensive TD as long as Dorsey stops with the DUCKS !!! Cincy has scored 14 or less in their losses with Fitzpatrick and 20+ in 2 wins...bodes well as Cle has allowed 17 or less in games or 28 or more ....dont see Cincy getting 28..

Lean Browns but doubtful I play them.....

Saints travel to Det :
0-14 what else do I say ?? Calvin Johnson should have a decent matchup and Dan O has been the best QB in Det this year . Clancy OUT @ DT for NO opens the middle some even withHollis Thomas stepping in. Det defense banged up so want to check that ....

Bush done for the year and so are the Saints after the loss @ Chi...Saints allowing Marrone to got Cuse IMO sends the message season is over ....

Saints have been real CLOSE to wins the past 2 weeks either here or blowout IMO and good to see they could compete @ Indy a high octane offense IMO...

Playing Det and ML plus 1st Q and 1st H possibly.....

SF travels to STL:
Well have SF in some MLs but starting to think about SF as this is a big # w/o Gore . Rams have been close vs Miami and choked vs Seattle last week . SF has been so-so vs the run and that should be a help for STL.

Wont say the Rams have pride but they got smoked @ SF and ralllied some in the 2nd H in that one . DO they remember that game?

Also the travel for SF has been hectic as hell...

If Bulger could get some time big plays to Holt and Avrey are possble as well....

Lean now to STL......

SD travels to TB :
Its been weeks since iether team impressed me. However SD with that win could play Denver or the division if they lose. So the early start despite the travel could be a huge plus. One thing is their center is out and that is never good on the road. Garcia should return as well plus the DL is still banged up . TB didnt play as well @ ATL merely ATL failed to ice the game with 3 straight turnovers deep in TB territory....

SD is just a great dog going 7-1-1 L9 ATS catching 3.5 or more away and 9-1-1 ATS in that role overall . Also 13-4-3 L20 as road pup while TB is 6-0 at home we saw their last few games despite being wins see a dropoff then the 2 losses happened...

TB wil have to hope Garcia is healthy enough because the run game is weaker w/o Graham and SD stout ...could see this game slide under ...21-17ish..



lean SD cant see them wasting the win @ KC.....

Had ATL last week actually and Minny as well. The Falcons barely survived a medicore TB team and had 3 straight turnovers in a row killing drives. Outside of maybe Car and Den the Falcons have struggled after half time IMO.

Basically even with Pat Williams OUT simply think people dont see how good Minnesota is and how they are doing all the little things ..run game , defense , special teams and Tavaris Jackson has played well now...

To me this kinda sums up how "luckY" ATL has been of late .....

The Falcons are looking for a cleaner performance against the Vikings after committing seven turnovers in the last three games.

I made Minny -4.5 so -3 represented alot of value IMO. Especially since ATL is overrated running the ball. Atl only 3-4 away beat a shortanded GB team , Oak , and SD in the midst of a swoon . While MInny is 5-1 with only the tough loss vs Indy ...Peterson wants the RUSHING TITLE and he faces off vs Turner . ATL 2 keys defensive players are Questionable Abraham and Grady Jackson ...though both always seem to be on the injury report....ATL has lost 2 top Special teamers the past2 games and Minny is dangerous on kick returns with Berrian..

Vikes are a vet team playing for he division title while evenif ATL wins out they could miss the playoffs and are a young team not used to playing big games in Dec....

Also ATL a young team away will need Ryan and Turner to make plays...only 3.9YPC away down from 4.6YPC at home but worse is the 2 TDs to 13 athome...Ryan 9TDs and 6Ints away ...

As for your Zona/Pats write-up...I think Zona has just turned to complete garbage in the last few weeks. I think 8 is a good line, but I saw it at 10 or 11 before they came out. I like over with Zona scoring 2 trash TD's late. Either way, good luck with whatever you play here...I'm on O44.5.

would u recommend playing kc +3.5 (-115) or kc ML (+160)

i hate paying juice over 10 cents, but i'm worried about kc not being able to close it out.
They have shown trouble closing out games, but i do think they get it done today.

As for your Zona/Pats write-up...I think Zona has just turned to complete garbage in the last few weeks. I think 8 is a good line, but I saw it at 10 or 11 before they came out. I like over with Zona scoring 2 trash TD's late. Either way, good luck with whatever you play here...I'm on O44.5.

I feel that way as well but trying to catch up on who is out for Det defensively and Smith's availability @ RB ...indoors certainly a blessing for NO even if they are not into the game ...

I guess I just felt Arizona was overrated all year and how they played NYG really showed it IMO. The game @ Philly give them a minor pass having to play the night game on a short week (Thanksgiving no less and ARI said they didnt want to be there) versus a team who was coming together , Minnesota a tad suprising even though I played the Vikes because Zona never had a chance...

More of a play on the line being higher then expected as I cant see higher then 6 w/o Boldin and NE struggles as favs , home favs and off ATS fav wins which shows they didnt click on all cylinders usually in consecutive games ...

Personally would pay the-115 for the +3.5 ..As you said KC struggles to close games out and Miami fighting for their playoff lives.

When a ML is less then 200 ( 2 to 1) I almost rather always take the points even having to pay -120 on a key number . I know the NFL the points dont come into play as much as we think but the safety net is nice to have IMO. Unless your betting the equivalent of 1,000 USD or more per game which I am nowhere near then dont see what one is losing technically ...

I prefer to focus on ML at +220 or more but do look at occasssionally the 180 to 200 range if I feel that strongly but Miami scares me a bit because they have been consistent on the road and played closer to 4 quarters rather then just starting quick like they have at home...:cheers:

Quick closing thoughts .....

- Fading TB here as I just think the game is a coin flip and despite the travel teams who have strange wins usually seem to use it at as a turning point even if its week 15 IMO...(now week 16)...SD has to contain Bryant and I think they can handle 1 WR threat with a medicore ground game and who knows how Garcia feels he has no choice but to play. With OAK on deck played the ML as well because TB has survived a bunch of home games and a win today probably means undefeated at home. They have been good but not that good imo and SD is as good as NO who gave them a big scare...

-SF and STL sort fo caught inbewteen but the past 2 road games on 10 and 9 points so went with Rams 1st H as they have been terrible in the 2nd H this year...like the over but unsure why its dropping because they both have flaws.....

-Went with Lions Under because something just seemed OFF about it and just followed by gut on that . Like Det because its now or never but at anytime DET could fall to pieces....

- Sorry Browns getting POUNDED and how do we measure them when they have hosted Indy then played @ Tenny and @ Philly...hope the weather is strongest early on hence 1st H under....no way this game should be almost a PK when Cincy is 0-7 away !!

-Hoping Tenny at least plays a good 1st Half just a gut play I agree that PITT is clearly better at this point and Haynesworths absence hurts...just hoping the Titans run the ball effectively...

-Think I covered the Zona game already.....

-With KC just hope they dont have a hangover as miami plays in its coldest game ever but Pennington and Porter 2 keys are NEast guys ....

Late Afternoon Thoughts

Houston @ Oakland :

Oakland is hard to peg some weeks the efforts are good and some they arent . I think when healthy though Russell has been better then suggested at moving the ball. Here the Texans have struggled to stop the run and Oak has developed Higgins into a WR plus the 2 HR options now in the kick game with Miller . Just see HOU defensive improvement as morecatching breaks the past few weeks. Cle and Tenny could have scored more..leaning Over ......think its raining as well ...Oak 1st H and Game ...

Buffalo @ Denver :

If the game means something like Denver and if it doesnt lean Denver but depending on the weather like the over .

How does Buffalo show after the heartbreaking loss @ NY having to travel again??

Plus obviously what happens down in TB is huge......Have to revisist that closer to kickoff...thought about grabbing Den at -4.5 though

Jets @ Seattle :

last game for Holmgren is Seattle and expected snow. Not getting overly wrapped up in Holmgren's last game because his boy Favre is the opposing QB fighting for a playoff spot...

The worse the weather probably tad better for NY with their running game .....

Seattle has improved and done some good things of late even almost beating NE . However that was just a flat game for the Pats IMO...since we can get it to -3 or even -2.5 have to lean NY but looking at some injuries ......

Philly @ Wash :

The MNF game think Philly impressed moving the ball but very poor in the red zone and kinda sloppy . Wash defense is still solid but it boils down to what the offense can do for WASH? Skins own a SU win already vs Philly earlier ...Again some key Wash injuries and thinking about the Skins ....this playoff lines seem a tad high in most cases ...Big thing is Philly can be run on not run over but on...

Against Denver, San Fran, and buffalo they've given 34,24, 27. Outside of Tenny, and New Englan they haven't played particularly well away either. They got beat up on by San Diego, then beat by oakland and San Fran.

Sounds good with Oak..

I dont buy into the Jets either faded them as big favs recently and all 3 West Coast games ...

Just the whole West Coast angle is getting over played ....SD was early and its SD , OAK was a tough game when the OAK defense was still playing well and SF to me is better then Seattle so not taking much from those games. Mostly because SEA defense is behind those teams as is the running game...

To me NY was inflated in those games and is not here why I choose to play them ...:shake::cheers:

Tell me about it. They have moved the ball well in the 1st half, but no points to show for those drives, and, keep giving the ball back to ATL. Atlanta has taken advantage of the mistakes, as would any good team, and that (lack of turnovers) was a strength of the Vikings heading into this game.
 
Vikings definetly should have looked much better in the 1st H .

get a stop and then muff the punt , after you allow a TD because the ball is near the 20 you drive to inside the ATL 20 and fumble , then you get a punt but move the ball again and fumble ONLY to give them an automatic 1st down on penalty when you stopped them on 3 rd down......

agreed nut...when you turn it over 4 times and in the red zone to boot - it really hurts..atl is nothing special but they do seem to play smart football (limit turn overs, penalties, etc) giants should be able to stop car run and jake concerns me on the road (against a bettter d)..thanks and sorry about the vikes.

Nut I went to the game man, there is absolutely nothing I can say that you dont already know. Vikings lost the game like they have lost every other game this year. They beat themselves.

The Steelers there a joke? This team will represent the AFC in the SB, they played almost the worst game I have ever seen? Obviously there a joke to huh?
