Pretty much a regular
I try & remain positive about my Rangers but 2018 is shaping up to be a extremely rough one.
We lost Yu & didn’t even try to get him back,we still have Hamels, Beltre, Andrus, & Mazara. Joey Gallo & Rougned Odor are still young, both have the potential to be perennial All Stars but let’s see.
Most frustrating is that those prospects who have found some success playing for the Philadelphia Phillies Jared Eickhoff, Jake Thompson, Jorge Alfaro, Nick Williams Milwaukee Brewers Luis Ortiz, & Miami Marlins Lewis Brinson.
Bottom line is that the Rangers will find a home in the cellar this season in the AL West. I hope that I’m wrong, but the writing is on the wall. It will a very long hot season in Arlington.

My Prediction: 73 wins, 5th in the West.

The thing that sticks with me most about this team is last year every time I checked a box score they had a ungodly amount of strike outs! I know that the way the game has trended but there has to be a limit to the madness!! Seem to recall so many games a absolute bum pitcher shit all over them as they simply could not manufacture runs without a home run.
 
It’s opening day but without much hope, that’s a bad feeling for me being a lifelong fan..

Should be close for the first 3 innings.... maybe they’ll surprise me

Keuchel vs Fister appears to be a very bad matchup for us. Keuchel 14-5, 2.90 ERA last season will oppose Texas' right-hander Doug Fister 5-9, 4.88 ERA for Boston in 2017 in the matchup. Keuchel is 8-8 and carries a 4.02 ERA in his career against the Rangers. He won 3 of his 4 starts against the Rangers last year.
 
Surprise Surprise the Rangers beat the defending WS Champs quite easily 5-1

Fister pitched well 5 innings 4 hits gave up 1 ER
Bullpen 4 IP giving up only 1 hit
Choo 3/4 Gallo & Andrus 2 hits each

We are now 1-1 on to today’s game

Wind is going to be btwn 17-25 mph out of the south. I used to bang unders when it’s like that n spring. Trend tailed off n recent years. A buddy that’s a big fan says it’s irrelevant cause the wind swirls a nd doesn’t come in right in from the outfield.
I know it worked with knucklers.

Ugly game lost 9-3 ~~ Moore had nothing lasted 4 innings giving up 7 hits & 4 earned runs ~ Gardewine & Chavez got lit up as well ~ We struck out 13 times led by Gallo & Robinson both 3 times each ~ Odor in a funk as well going 0-4 batting .111

Our record stands at 1-2

Today it’s Cole vs Minor
 
We lost 8-2 the Astros just own us ~ Minor only lasted 4.2 innings giving up 3 hits and 2 earned runs ~ Martin & Claudio got knocked around ~ once again we struck out way to many times 12 ~ that’s 25 times over the last 2 games ~ Odor now batting .083
Off to Oakland for a game tomorrow night

Our record now stands at 1-3
 
And we lost again 3-1 ~ we struck out 11 times & left a jaw dropping 24 men on base ~ our 2-3-4 batters Gallo/Andrus/Beltre left 14 of them ~ Odor went 0-4 dropping his BA to .063 ~ Bartolo pitched 6 innings giving up 7 hits and only 1 earned run

We are now 1-4 I knew we’d be bad but this start is worse than even I expected

I get Gallo ops ends up being more than acceptable regardless of average being crap and all the strikeouts but man I don't like him hitting high up in the order. I guess the deal is they have a bunch of high power high strikeout types so they gotta go somewhere? I just hate offenses constructed like this cause just feels like they incredibly prone to get shit on by mediocre pitchers far too often.

Heading home for the Blue Jays our record stands at 3-5
 
We lose 8-5 ~~ Moore lasted only 3.1 innings giving up 5 hits 5 earned runs & walked 4 ~~ Gallo went 1-5 now batting .184 with 2 more strikeouts ~~ Chirinos went 0-4 & now batting .080 ~~ Rua batting .087 ~~~ the record now stands at 3-6
 
We win 5-1 our record now stands at 4-6 ~~ Minor pitched very well 6 innings only 2 hits & 1 earned run struck out 7 ~~ Andrus with 2 hits now batting .385 ~~ Gallo knocked in 2 ~~ we struck out as a team only 6 times but did leave 19 men on base

We lost 7-4 dropping our record to 4-7 ~~ Cole just didn’t have it 5.1 innings 8 hits allowed 5 earned runs & gave up 2 HR’s ~~ we left 20 men on base ~ Chirinos batting .071 ~~Profar .154 ~~ Choo off to a very good start batting .325 as is Elvis .372

Angels come to town
 
We lost 8-3 dropping our record to 4-8 ~~ Fister lasted 5 innings giving up 6 hits & 3 earned runs & 1 HR to Albert ~~ as a team we struck out 10 times & left 24 on base ~~ Gallo did go 2/4 with 2 RBI’s ~~ Our starters can’t get past the 5th bullpen getting used way to much ~~ looks like a longer season than I expected
 
We lost again last night 11-1 dropping our record to 4-9 ~~ Perez only lasted 3 innings giving up 9 hits & 8 earned runs along with 2-HR’s ~~ Choo went 0-5 Gallo 0-4 ~~
Not sure if this team has any fight in it at all ~~ it’s a shame how the front office has let the team just fall apart without doing anything to try & fix things
 
What happened to the Rangers minor league system. They had a really nice run where it seemed like they were constantly bringing up great young players. They have to get back to what made them such a solid organization.

We can’t lose today only because of a day off before we head to Houston for the weekend series ~~
 
A tough loss 3-2 yet another loss ~ now losers of 5 in a row dropping our record to 4-11 ~
Cole pitched well 6 innings 6 hits 2 of them solo HR’s striking out 7 ~~ Choo cooling off went 0-4 ~~ Gallo hit his 4th HR but struck out 3 times his avg dropped to .197 ~~ entire team struck out 17 times ~ Astros SP Cole struck out 14 ~~

Not sure what will wake this team up ~ something’s got to give soon ~ Globe Life will be a ghost town this summer
 
We won a game 6-5 in 10 innings our record now stands at 5-11 ~~ Minor was ineffective only lasting 5 innings 5 hits 5 earned runs ~~ Choo went 0-5 he’s 0-9 over last 2 games ~~Gallo 2 hits knocking in 2 but struck out 3 times ~ Beltre & Guzman each had 2 hits

On paper today’s game looks like a complete blow out Verlander vs Big Sexy Bartolo
 
We won again 3-1 thanks to Big Sexy’s great pitching performance he had a perfect game heading into the 8th inning ~ he then walked a batter & then gave up a hit ~~ Astros fans did the classy thing & gave him a standing ovation ~ our record is now 6-11 ~~ Choo went 0-5 now in a 0-14 funk ~~ as a team we struck out 12 times ~~
We did win the series against the ‘Stros now off to Tampa
 
We lost 8-4 dropping our record to 6-12 ~~ Perez was terrible lasting 4 innings giving up 10 hits 2 of those HR’s 7 earned runs ~~ Choo went 1-4 & is now 1 for last 18 ~~ Gallo hit his 6th HR only hit in 4 AB’s striking out 2 more times ~~ As a team we struck out 11 times
 
We won 7-2 our record now stands at 7-12 ~~ Moore gave us 7 innings scattering 5 hits & striking out 6 ~~ Choo hit his 4 HR of the season ~~ Kiner- Falefa had 4 hits ~~ Gallo went 0-4 ~~ we go for our second straight series win this afternoon with Cole on the mound
 
We lost 4-2 dropping our record to 7-13 ~~ Cole gave us 6.1 innings 5 of those very good ones but hit a “speed bump” in the 6th ~~ he gave up 7 hits & 4 earned runs ~~ Gallo went 0-3 with 2 more strikeouts outs now batting .198 ~~ Choo hit a HR his second day in a row hitting one ~~
A day off today as we head home to play the Mariners for the weekend ~~ we sit in last place 7 games behind the Astros
 
We lose 6-2 dropping our record to 7-14 ~~ Minor pitched well 5.1 innings striking out 6 giving up 1 earned run ~~ Kela imploded pitching getting only 1 out giving up 3 hits & 3 earned runs ~~ Gallo 1-3 with 2 more strike outs batting .202 ~~ Choo with 2 hits ~~ Chirinos 0-3 batting .145 ~~ as a team we struck out 11 times ~~
Don’t like saying this but I think it’s time to get rid of Banny this team while isn’t any good has no life at all

The win streak comes to a halt at 3 ~~ we lost 7-2 dropping our record to 11-18 ~~ Perez only lasted 4 innings giving up 5 hits 3 of those HR’s ~~ Choo Mazara & Gallo all went 0-4 ~~ Gallo added 3 more strikeouts in his last 30 games he’s struck out 35 times
We are off to Cleveland
 
We lost 7-5 now on a 2 game losing streak ~~ our record stands at 11-19 ~~ Cole Hamels gave us 5 innings giving up 4 hits 1 earned run striking out 8 ~~ Martin wrecked us last night .2 4 hits & 4 earned runs ~~ Chirinos hit his 6th HR ~~ Mazara Profar De Shields all had 2 hits ~~ Gallo went 0-4 striking out once

Perez went on DL with “elbow discomfort” ~~ Jose LeClerc was called up from AAA

Odor took batting practice & took some ground balls yesterday ~~ he will be heading to a short rehab later this week
 
it took us 12 innings but we won yesterday 8-6 our record now stands at 12-19 ~~ Fister gave us 6.2 allowing 6 hits 2 runs neither of them earned striking out 4 ~~ Kela imploded 1 inning pitched 5 hits 4 runs all earned Brantley hit a grand slam of him in the 9th ~~ Profar knocked in 3 Mazara 2 RBI’s ~~ Kiner-Falefa was the big bat 4 hits in 6 at bats ~~ Gallo hit a HR his 9th but struck out 3 times in 6 at bats
