We lost 5-3 dropping our record to 51-66 ~~ Hutchison was good pitching 5.1 innings giving up 5 hits 3 runs all earned walked 4 ~~ Choo went 3/5 ~~ Odor 2/4 ~~ Andrus & Beltre each drove in 1 run ~~ Gallo went 1/4 striking out once now batting .200 ~~ we struck out 13 times as a team
 
We lost 7-2 dropping our record to 51-67 ~~ Perez was awful lasting 5 innings giving up 11 hits & 7 runs all of them earned ~~ we are back to striking out in double digits 11 times yesterday Choo K’d 3 times Odor twice & yes even Joey Gallo 1 time~~ Gallo did go 2/3 raiding his avg to .204 ~~ Yankees just are a much better team & it showed this weekend I’m happy to have beaten Tanaka ~~ Home against D’Backs tonight
 
We took a bite out of the D’Backs winning 5-3 the record stands at 52-67 ~~ Big Sexy just keeps on rolling along throwing 5 innings allowing 4 hits 3 runs all earned ~~ Leclerc recorded his 2nd save~~ Chirinos was the star last night driving in 4 runs 3 of them when he hit his 16th HR ~~ Guzman hit his 13th HR with a solo shot ~~ Gallo went 0-3 striking out twice now batting .202 ~~ as a team we only struck out 6 times
 
D’Backs got us last night we lost 6-4 dropping our record to 52-68 ~~ Gallardo just didn’t have it he lasted only 3.1 innings giving up 6 hits 4 runs all of them earned & allowing 1 HR ~~ Profar & Chirinos each knocked in 2 runs apiece ~~ Choo went 3/4~~ Gallo back to business as usual going 0-4 striking out 3 times now batting .200 ~~ as a team we struck out 9 times
 
A 4 run 7th inning rally & a triple play helped us win last night 8-6 our record is now 53-68 ~~ Jurado pitched 6 innings giving up 9 hits 6 runs all earned~~ Leclerc recorded his 3rd save ~~ Mazara Profar & Gallo both went deep, Gallo hitting his 32 & Mazara his 16th Profar his 14th~ both knocked in 2 runs ~~ Choo Odor & Profar all knocked in 1 ~~ Gallo went 2/4 striking out once and now batting .203
 
Sparked by a 5 run second inning we win 6-4 the record is now 54-68 ~~ Hutchison gave us 5 innings allowing 5 hits 2 runs both earned striking out 6 ~~ Leclerc got his 4th save ~~ Odor knocked in 3 & Gallo 2 ~~ Tocci went 3/3 ~~ Choo goes 2/4 ~~ Gallo went 1-4 striking out 2 more times batting .203 ~~ we struck out 6 times as a team
 
Angels scored 5 in the 7th to go on to win 11-7 our record stands at 54-69 ~~ Perez wasn’t good going 6 innings allowing 9 hits & 6 earned runs ~~ Butler was worse pitching 2 innings giving up 6 hits 5 earned runs & 2 HR’s ~~ Odor & Andrus each went 3/5 knocking in 1 run apiece ~~ Beltre drove in 2 ~~ Gallo went 3/5 raising his avg to .208 yes he struck out once ~~ second night we only struck out 6 times as a team
 
A 3 run 7th inning led us to a 4-2 victory over the Halos~~ record now 55-69 ~~ Gallardo has pitched very well & could be our number 1 or 2 starter next year he went 6 innings scattering 6 hits 2 earned runs striking out 6 ~~ Odor drove in all 4 runs 3 of them on his 15th HR of the season ~~ Choo went 3/4 ~~ Gallo 0/2 striking out 1 time as a team only struck out 5 times he’s batting .207
We flew out after the game to Oakland to face the red hot A’s
 
Just an old fashioned ass whupping, lost 9-0 our record is now 55-70 ~~ Bartolo had nothing 5 innings 10 hits 3 of those HR’s and 7 earned runs ~~ we only mustered 3 hits & as a team struck out 9 times ~~ Gallo went 1/3 struck out once batting .208
 
Shut out for the second straight night losing 6-0 our record stands at 56-72 ~~ Jurado pitched 5.2 innings allowing 10 hits & 4 runs all earned ~~ we had only 2 hits so far in two games we’ve only had 5 hits ~~ Choo & Profar collected the hits ~~ Gallo had the night off he’s tired from swinging & missing so often ~~ The A’s are a good team but we are just not being competitive

Not only did we score a run we won the game 4-2 our record 57-72 ~~ Minor was excellent pitching 6 innings allowing only 1 hit no runs striking out 4 ~~ Leclrec got his 6th save ~~ Beltre went 2/4 driving in 2 ~~ Choo hit a leadoff HR his 21st ~~ Gallo went 1/2 hitting his 33rd of the season & actually didn’t strike out now batting .209 ~~ we struck out 10 times as a team~~ We have the day off today as we head to San Francisco

Took us 10 innings but we won 7-6 our record now stands at 58-72 ~~ Hutchison ineffective again lasting only 4 innings allowing 7 hits 6 runs all of them earned ~ Leclerc recorded his 7th save ~ Choo Odor & Gallo all knocked in 2 runs ~ Odor hitting his 16th HR which was a 2 run shot ~ Gallo hit his 34th which was a solo shot ~~ Gallo went 2/3 without striking out his BA now .212
 
We gave up 4 in the bottom of the first & never got back into the game losing 5-3 our record stands at 58-73 ~~ Perez pitched 5 innings giving up 5 hits 4 runs all earned ~~ Odor was our entire offense going 3/4 knocking in all 3 runs by hitting his 17th HR with 2 on ~~ Gallo had one AB reaching on a error~~
Today Gallardo pitches & we will win this game, first time this year I’ve said something like this

Lost a well pitched game on both sides 3-1 dropping our record to 58-76 ~~ Minor gave us 6 innings allowing 2 hits 3 walks 7 strikeouts & 2 earned runs also gave up 2 solo HR’s ~~ Beltre knocked in our only run of the game ~~ Gallo was used as a PH & actually walked ~~ off today as we get ready for the Twinkees this weekend at Globe Life
 
After 4 innings we were up 6-0 then in the top of the 5th Twinkees exploded for 8 runs & we went on to lose 10-7 ~~ our record stands at 58-77 ~~ Hutchison was awful again lasting only 4 innings allowing 6 hits 4 runs all earned no way he will be on the team next year ~~ Moore was worse pitching 1 inning giving up 3 hits 4 runs all earned ~~ 2 of the 4 runs came off a 2 run bomb ~~ Mazara hit a 3 run moonshot his 17th of the season ~~ Profar knocked in 2 ~~ Beltre & Odor each drove in 1 ~~ My pal Gallo back to his old self going 0-5 striking out twice now batting .208
 
Sparked by a 4 run second inning we go on to win 7-4 our record stands at 59-77 ~~ Gallardo went 5 innings scattering 6 hits 3 runs all earned his record is now 8-3 ~~ he’s been the ace of this staff since the ASB ~ Leclerc recorded his 8th save ~~ Guzman knocked in 3 thanks to his 14th HR ~~ Beltre, Odor, Mazara all hit solo shots ~~ Gallo went 0-2 striking out 2 more times now batting .207 he’s now 0-11 in last 3 games
 
A 9 run sixth inning led the way to a 18-4 route of the Twins our record now stands at 60-77 ~~ 25 games mercifully left in this season ~ Mendez gave us six strong innings giving up only 3 hits & no runs striking out only 2 batters ~~ Mazara was the star hitting his 19th & 20th HR’s of the season driving in 3 runs ~~ Profar knocked in 2 while hitting his 15th HR ~~ Andrus hit his 5th HR knocking in 2 ~~ Chirinos hit his 17th knocking in 2 ~~ Robinson hit a 3 run shot his 2nd of the season ~~ Choo, Odor & Guzman each knocked in one run ~~ Gallo had the day off

A 3 run inning propelled the Halo’s to a 3-1 victory, dropping our record to 60-78 ~~ the expanded roster came in handy as we used 6 pitchers Curtis was the loser throwing only 0.1 allowing 2 hits 3 runs all earned big hit was a 2 run bomb off the bat of Ward ~~Andrus went 3/4 as a team we mustered 6 hits ~~ Gallo went 1/4 knocking in our only run & did strike out one time now batting .207

Got flat out crushed losing 9-3 dropping our record to 61-79 ~~ Colon didn’t have much at all lasting only 4 innings giving up 7 hits 5 runs 4 of them earned ~~ Beltre went 2/4 hitting his 10th HR a two run shot ~~ Mazara knocked in our other run ~~ Gallo still in a funk going 0-4 striking out 2 more times BA now down to .204 he’s 1 for his last 23 at bats ~~ we are off today hoping on the charter to Oakland ~~ A’s are on tap for the weekend ~~ thankfully only 22 games left
 
A’s struck early up 5-0 after 2 innings cruising to a 8-4 win our record stands at 61-80 ~~
Gallardo threw a rare stinker 4.1 innings allowing 6 hits 5 runs all earned walked 5 & gave up 2 HR’s ~~ My pal Gallo was the hitting star going 3/4 driving in 3 runs he hit his 35th HR a 2 run shot now batting .208 ~~ Guzman knocked in our other run
 
We lost 8-6 dropping our record to 61-81 we have to win 20 in a row to be .500 ~~ Mendez went 4 innings allowing one hit which was a 2 run HR ~~ Beltre was our hitting star blasting 2 HR’s his 11th & 12th of the season knocking in 3 runs ~~ Mazara went 2/4 knocking in 2 runs ~~ Profar hit his 16th HR a solo shot ~~ Gallo did his Gallo like thing going 0-4 striking out all 4 times now batting .207 ~~ as a team we struck out 12 times ~~
Not sure how the team will respond these last 20 games~~ I’m thinking 7-13 let’s see

Next up a trip to Anaheim to face the Angels

Lost a great pitched game 1-0 dropping our record to 62-83 ~~ Sampson pitched 5 innings giving up 2 hits 1 run which was earned a solo shot hit by Fernandez ~~ both teams only had 2 hits ~~ Odor & Kiner-Falefa had ours ~~ Gallo went 0-2 striking out once now batting .209
 
A complete wipe out down 6-0 after 3 we go on to lose 8-1 dropping our record to 62-84 ~~ Gallardo had nothing again only lasting 3 innings giving up 6 hits 6 runs all earned his last 2 starts given up 11 earned runs in only 7.1 innings ~~ Gallo knocked in our only run by hitting his 36th HR he went 1-4 now batting .209 striking out twice ~~ Chirinos went 3-4
Get the day off today as we head to San Diego for the weekend ~~ only nice thing about this trip is the weather as the Texas summer has been brutally hot
 
4 pitchers combined for a 4-0 shutout of the Padres our record is now 63-84~~ Mendez pitched 5 innings allowing 3 hits no runs striking out 5 it’s his 2nd victory (2-1) ~~ Profar led the way hitting his 17th HR a 2 run shot overall he knocked in 3 ~~ Beltre & DeShields each had 2 hits ~~ Gallo had the night off ~ Odor struck out 3 times as a team we struck out 10 times
 
Sparked by a 5 run 6th inning we went in to beat the Padres 6-3 the record is now 64-84~~ We used 5 pitchers Jurado pitched 4 innings giving up 7 hits 3 runs all earned walked 2 & struck out 3 ~~ Leclerc collected his 11th save ~~ Chirinos led our attack by knocking in 3 runs ~~ Choo, Kiner-Falefa & Gallo each knocked in one run ~~ Gallo’s run was on his 37th HR he went 1-4 with 1 strike out now batting .209
 
Heading into bottom of the ninth up 3-2, but beaten by a walk off grand slam lost 7-3 dropping our record to 64-85 ~~ Minor pitched a gem going 6.1 innings allowing 4 hits 2 runs both earned striking out 7 ~~ Springs imploded throwing 0.2 giving up 3 hits 5 runs all earned & walked 2 ~~ Calhoun, Chirinos & Profar all drove in 1 run ~~ Profar hit his 18th HR ~~ Gallo went 1-4 striking out 2 more times batting .210 ~~ he’s struck out 195 times so far this season
 
Rays stung us last night winning 3-0 our record is now 64-86 ~~ Sampson pitched 5.2 innings allowing 6 hits 2 runs both earned ~~ We only mustered 2 hits Mazara & Kiner-Falefa had them ~~ as a team we struck out 11 times Gallo was given the night off
 
Our bats go silent once again, Rays blanked us 4-0 dropping our record to 64-87 ~~ now on a 3 game losing streak & have lost 15 out of 21 ~~ Gallardo gave us 5 innings allowing 8 hits 3 runs all earned struck out 3 & did give up a 2 run HR ~~ we had only 4 hits that’s 6 hits over the last 2 games ~~ as a team we struck out 7 times none from Gallo as he had the night off again ~~ it’s sad this team has just quit offensively going through the motions ~~ I really think Bannister needs to go, everyone knew this team wasn’t going to be good but we still strike out way to often & just no discipline at all ~~ sad to say next season could be even worse than this year
 
Just completely blown out 9-3 record stands at 64-88 ~~ on a 4 game losing streak ~~ Mendez only lasted 3.2 innings giving up 9 hits 8 runs 7 of them earned walked 2 struck out 4 and gave up a solo HR to Pham ~~ Beltre went 2-4 hitting his 13th HR a solo shot ~~ as a team we struck out 12 more times Gallo sat out again due to a “sore toe” it’s more like a bruised ego....

Up 6-0 after three & we cruised to a 8-3 victory the record stands at 65-88 ~~ Jurado gave us 5 innings giving up 6 hits 2 runs both earned ~~ Beltre had a big night knocking in 5 three of those runs came off his 14th HR in the bottom of the first ~~ Gallo returned to the lineup going 1-1 his hit was a solo HR his 38th of the year he actually walked twice his batting avg is up to .211 ~~
 
A complete blowout losing 13-0 dropping our record to 65-89 ~~ Minor went 4.2 innings giving up 6 hits 3 runs all earned ~~ Big Sexy got lit up only lasting 0.2 gave up 4 hits 4 runs all earned 2 of those 4 on a 2 run bomb by Gordon ~~ we only mustered 3 hits Odor,DeShields,Beltre had them~~ Gallo went 0-3 but no strikeouts now batting .210

Lost our second in a row 4-1 dropping our record to 66-91 ~~ Gallardo gave us 5.1 innings giving up 3 hits 2 runs both earned walking 3 striking out 2 didn’t allow any HR’s ~~ Gallo hit his 40th HR a solo shot his RBI total is 92 while going 1-3 striking out 1 time batting .210 ~~ Choo went 0-4 striking out 3 times his BA has dropped down to .263 ~~ Beltre & Profar both went 0-4 ~~ we try again tonight
 
Lost our third in a row 3-2 our record stands at 66-92 ~~ Mendez went 4.1 innings giving up 3 hits 2 runs both earned while walking 4 striking out 3 and gave up 1 HR a solo shot ~~ Beltre hit his 15th dinger a solo shot & Profar his 20th also a solo shot ~~ Gallo went 0-4 striking out 4 more times that’s a total of 9 times in his last 3 games he’s at 204 for the season ~~ tonight our final series begins against the Mariners
 
A well pitched game led us to a 2-0 victory putting our record at 67-92 ~~ Jurado went 6 strong innings allowing only 2 hits & no runs ~~ Leclerc recorded his 12th he’s been a bright spot in the pen~~ Guzman & Kiner-Falefa each drove in one run ~~ Alberto went 3-4 ~~ Gallo went 0-4 struck out once his average now down to .207 he’s 1 for his last 16 AB’s
 
Down 9-0 after three we go on to lose 12-6 dropping our record to 67-93~~ Perez lasted 1.3 innings walking 5 allowing 1 hit & 2 earned runs ~~ Springs only lasted .2 giving up 2 runs ~~ Beltre & Chirinos each drove in 2 runs ~~ Mazara drove in 1 ~~ Joey the K Gallo went 0-3 struck out 2 more times he’s now batting .206 & 1 for his last 19
 
We lose 4-1 record is now 67-94 ~~ Sampson gave us 6.2 innings allowing 7 hits 3 runs 2 of them earned struck out 4 ~~ Beltre drove in our only win on his 23rd double of the season ~~ Profar & DeShields each had 2 hits we had 10 overall ~~ we were 1-7 with RISP~~ last game of our woeful season not many bright spots at all ~~ I predicted 73 wins we fell short ~~ Tuesday I’ll sum up the team & managers
 
Our season ended with a thud....losing 3-1 our final record was 67-95

Was it all Banny’s fault for this season? NO
Did he deserve to get fired? YES
Why? This team lacked discipline at the plate & on the field for the last two seasons. We strike out way to often & defensively just not good fundamental baseball. Thus his firing did ownership help his cause? NO WAY they gave up on this year which is awful.

Will Beltre return for one more dance? I’m saying yes but not with this team, I see him staying in the AL being used primarily as a DH & playing 60-70 games at 3B

Will Andrus opt out? I’m saying yes, next year is NOT going to be better. He will walk away from $59 million over the next 4 years. He wants to win & that’s not going to happen until maybe 2020-2021.

Our starting pitching is in shambles, Gallardo fell apart down the stretch, Colon is done..

Don’t be surprised if Joe Girardi is our next manager, he will be ok with one rebuilding year but must be promised better days ahead... I’d say he’s 85% to take the job. The “other” candidate will be John Farrell he will be ownerships choice because he would be a YES guy for them...

I hope Joey Gallo gets moved sure he’s got power but at what costs? He batted .206 had over 200 strikeouts lacks discipline at the plate. He could bring a quality prospect or possibly a #2 starter...

I will return blogging for them one more year & will also keep the CTG forum up to date..

Any news I hear will pass along ~~ enjoy the playoffs & offseason
