2020 Texas Rangers entire season thread

Minor gave up a top first grand slam to Wil Myers and we never recovered, losing 6-4 our record now stands at 10-12 losers of three in a row
Minor is now 0-4 with a 6.94 ERA after 5 starts
he topped out at 93 MPH
he threw 86 pitches in only 3.2 innings giving up 9 hits 6 runs all of them earned walking 1 striking out 6 and gave up 2 HRs
Gallo hit his 6th of the season a three run blast
Heineman went 1-3 driving in our other run
we struck out 11 times went 2-6 with RISP and left 8 on base

we are at the “cross roads” once again, a must win tonight Lynn (3-0 1.11) who’s by far been our ace goes to the hill
 
Lynn pitches another gem, but Montero gives up a grand slam to Machado and we lose our fourth in a row 6-3 our record is now 10-13
Lynn threw 7.0 innings gave up 8 hits 2 runs both earned walked none struck struck out 6 he gave up 2 solo HR’s
Calhoun went 1-5 and drove in one run
Odor went 2-4 and hit his 3rd HR a solo shot
Gallo went 1-4 and hit his 7th a solo shot
we struck out 7 times went 1-10 with RISP and left 8 on base
Willie Calhoun heading to the injured list with a left hamstring injury

Gibson (1-2 3.74) takes to the hill tonight
 
fell behind early, then rallied to tie it at 7 but lost in the bottom of the tenth losing 8-7
losers of 5 in a row our record now stands at 10-14
Gibson went 5 innings allowing 6 hits 5 runs all of them earned walked 3 struck out 3 gave up a grand slam to Hosmer
Chavez was brutal in his 0.2 he gave up 2 hits both HR’s
Solak went 1-4 driving in 1 hitting his 2nd HR
Trevino went 2-5 driving in 3 hit his first HR of the season a 2 run shot
Santana went 1-4 driving in 3
struck out 16 times, yes 16 ‍ went 3-11 with RISP and left 8 on base

glad we are done with the Padres for now they ripped us a new asshole
off to Seattle for a three game series, to have any shot we need to sweep this before heading to Oakland on Monday

Calhoun went on the 10 day DL with a hamstring injury & Elvis went on as well with a lower back strain

Allard hopes to rebound tonight after his last start which was a mess
 
odd to see Elvis pinch run only to go on the IL the next day

sorry for you to have to be doing this thread daily, it must be brutal after this past week and i only lost bets on two of the games
 
yes it does suck, but as you know this is my third season doing every game....
at the beginning of this past week I had high hopes now I just hope we turn it around this weekend

Allard’s night lasted 0.2 he gave up 5 hits 4 runs all of them earned walked 2 struck out 1 as we lose our 6th in a row 7-4 our record is now 10-15
Benjamin threw 4.1 innings gave up 3 hits 2 runs both earned walked 1 struck out 3 he gave up a solo HR
Santana went 1-4 hitting his first HR of this season drove in 1
Heineman went 2-3 driving in 2
Odor went 0-3 now batting .159 he drove in 1
we struck out 12 times 28 times over our last 2 games which clearly shows how we’ve lost control at the plate
went 1-5 with RISP and left 3 on base

our starters have given up 29 earned runs in our past 6 games

Lyles takes to the hill tonight, I expect a high scoring affair
 
more early innings crooked numbers and we get crushed again losing 10-1 our record is now 10-16 and have lost 7 in a row
Lyles sucked going 4.0 innings giving up 11 hits 8 runs all of them earned walked none struck out 2 and gave up a 3 run HR

Odor is totally lost at the plate went 0-4 batting .151

woody called a team meeting after the game, not sure what he can say at this point
our starting pitching has been awful
after our game with Seattle today we come home and face the A’s for four games then the Dodgers for three
a potentially disastrous week and will lead to multiple changes
Choo-Choo will attract interest as will Montero
hard to believe how fast the wheels fell off our bus

this week 4 vs the A’s and 3 vs the Dodgers won’t be surprised if we will be sitting on a 15 game losing streak
Lynn takes to the hill tonight in what could be his last start as a Ranger
 
Lynn was brilliant and we got just enough offense as we win 3-2 snapping our 8 game losing streak our record is now 11-17

Montero bolstering his trade value by throwing 1.1 innings giving up 2 hits no runs and records his 6th save
Kiner-Falefa hit his first HR a solo shot

we bought up Taveras from alternate camp and placed him as our lead off hitter he went 1-3
won’t be surprised to see him as our lead off hitter rest of the way, this kid can play CF and a defensive gem
we struck out 8 times went 1-4 with RISP and left 6 on base
Daniels spoke ominously about the upcoming trade deadline, while we have many glaring holes we have a decent core to work around
Lynn will bring a “name” but then who’s our ace next year????
Choo-Choo has been great for us but it’s ok to trade him, Frazier as well
we must keep Montero & Lynn but knowing ownership and Daniels we will end up trading both and end up on the short end AGAIN

will be closer by committee for now, if Rangers eat 50% of Odor’s contract there are a few teams that would take him

game was close heading into the 7th inning were only trailing 5-3 but the roof collapsed in top of the 7th and we lose 10-3 our record now stands at 11-18

the game was almost postponed due to the NBA protests won’t be surprised if today’s or tomorrow’s game isn’t played

Max Muncy’s 3 run HR was our downfall as we lost 7-4 our record stands at 12-20

Choo-Choo drove in 1 run
Taveras & Guzman each hit their first HR’s of the season both solo shots

Gibson takes to the hill today trying to get us a much needed series win
off tomorrow and then we take the long (ha) journey to Houston to face the ‘Stros

this afternoon we have an excellent pitching matchup Lynn vs Greinke I see our bats waking up against him

This will be his fourth appearance for the Rangers but his first start, he has thrown 4.1 innings of scoreless ball all in relief

Hernandez stunk up the joint throwing 1.1 innings giving up 4 hits 3 runs all of them earned and he got the L
Elvis & Odor have lost their starting jobs for the rest of this season it’s time to see what the kids can do
Gallo didn’t start either, he deserves to sit out rest of the season as well
BTW his only at bat he made an out now at .176

I didn’t think I’d say this in the abbreviated season but Woody & his entire staff needs to go
the glaring pitching woes & the lack of preparation at the plate tells me the current staff can’t fix things “on the fly”
Jon Daniels needs to go as well but ownership won’t do this
the team has quit it’s obvious & Woody is a nice guy but has lost the locker room

I recall you being way higher on TEX than most people pre-season, but not really sure what Woody could do with this many offensive holes and then trading players away. Still don't get why Lynn wasn't moved, but this is a major rebuild and sadly i'm not sure who is really that meaningful in the farm system
 
I really felt our starters could be dominate and we’d score just enough to win 32 games
I failed to realize that 70% of our team wasn’t physically prepared due to improper off season conditioning due to the lack of coaching observation & instructions
Daniels convinced ownership he could walk on water & now he’s drowning
our team is totally broken, Odor is as useless as tits on a bull
Gallo regressed, Elvis on the downside
we have no 1B no 3B and now no 2B
our starters well they love to give up the long ball and our pen is a mess
2021 looks worse than this year unless ownership opens their fat wallets and blows up the entire front office and coaching staff

such a shame they didn’t trade him to a contender, they need the pieces and been nice to see him back in the postseason.
 
I’m thinking only “chip” ownership has to sell season tickets next year is Lynn
so they will showcase him & then do what they do best lose him to free agency for nothing....

here’s a crazy stat we have given up 8 grand slams this season so far our record is 9 but that’s over a 162 game season this tell you how bad our pitching has been this year
Gibson has given up 2 of the 8 slams
Solak and Tejada each drove in one run
Kiner-Falefa went 2-4 he hit his 3rd HR a solo shot
Dietrich went 1-4 he hit his 5th HR a 2 run shot
we struck out 6 times went 3-10 with RISP and left 4 on base
Gallo and Odor each went hit less Odor batting .167 Gallo .183

off to Arizona for three games then home for our final three against the Assholes
Lyles goes to the hill tonight
 
this season can’t end soon enough as we get shut out for the first time this season losing 7-0 our record is now 19-36
Lyles sucked again going 5 innings giving up 10 hits 7 runs 4 of them earned walked none struck out 3 and gave up a 3 run HR
Gallo & Odor each went 0-4 Gallo batting .179 and Odor .161
it looks like our veterans have quit and our rookies aren’t ready for the bigs just yet
struck out 9 times went 0-8 with RISP and left 9 on base we are hitting .216 with RISP the worst in the AL
we had bases loaded no outs in the top of the first, Gallo popped out on a foul ball and Odor & Tejeda struck out
Gallo is 1-22 with the bases loaded since 2018
it’s getting old from Woody saying the club is playing such a young team, it shows how Daniels has been an awful GM & I like Woody but this team has no discipline at all we need a total overhaul

going to be very hard selling season tickets for next year we will most likely lose 100 games minimum
unless ownership really steps up
