2016 NBA Offseason Discussion

Boom! Makes sense. It's the best chance to win a ship for him.

Best chance for sure. Good for KD. If they don't win it all next year, he's gonna catch more shit than any player ever in he history of sports.

Whatever the record the Warriors have, they WILL rest people down the stretch. They already own the best record (aside from KD) but Kerr won't let that be another distraction. Just need a big man, yeah you Bogut, to protect the damn rim.

There will be more teams trying to tank than ever before

Could be. What's the upside of tanking at this point? The strategy is to just get all stars to team up, and with the salary cap going through the roof, and it not being a hard cap, it's not that hard to do. Who wants draft picks anymore?

Why would you, and a Minnesota fan, like it? Your team has literally no chance to win a damn thing for the next decade.
jfc, are you serious? They'll have their shot down the line. If you don't see that then I don't know what to tell you. They have 2 of the best 5 young talents in the game including #1. They just need to get them both signed to their 2nd contracts and the stage will be set.

They aren't winning it all this year or next, so I'm all for it as a fan of the game.

Might have to trade Bogut. The cap numbers are going to be interesting. Should still have Livingston though at least. Iggy i'm not sure.

Very hard to make 3 straight finals, and the Yankees prove that money can't buy team chemistry. Lakers 'bought' a team in 2004 (by adding Payton & Malone to the Kobe-&-Shaq-show), and still got their asses whipped by the blue collar Pistons. Nothing is a given.

So true BC...

And what happened to "90%" back to OKC as of 5 days ago?

Crazy move. Gonna be fun.

Well Malone and the Glove were well past their prime, not really a great comparison, but it's one of the few we have. The Yankees may not have won every year, but they won their fair share of titles spending all that money...and the Sox have done the same thing. Money does buy championships, but that's not even a factor here as it isn't baseball.

not that we listen to Stephen A Smith all that much

but he says "this is the weakest move he's ever seen a superstar make"

This is a young team. They'll be playing together for awhile. That's the best thing. Klay is signed through 2019. Draymond through 2020. KD? Not sure the details yet. But you know they will sign Curry to a max deal after the years of making chump change considering being a two time MVP. This is a young talented nucleus that'll be together for at least 3 more years minimum.

so who locks KD in his house a la Blake/Doc with DeAndre last year

Russ wont give a fuck

my money on Steven Adams

This pretty much means Barnes, Ezeli, Barbosa, and Speights are gone. Unless some of them want to play for league minimums.

Durant can’t officially sign with the Warriors until the NBA’s moratorium lifts at 9:01 p.m. PDT on Wednesday, when he is expected to ink a two-year, max deal for $54.3 million. He’ll hold a player option for the second season of the contract.

Sure, but it feels like when you play a video game on the easy level and get an all star team to boot. It's fun for like 3 games.

What's going to be incredible to watch? We know they're better than everyone else and will win all of their games. The NBA is going to be really fucking lame now.

Yup. Ruins the league.

and Dallas gave max money to Harrison Barnes. lmfao

I think GSW got the good end of that deal. Jerry West for President!

just dont get how this ruins the league

like BC said these teams dont always win

if they get to a spot like the Heatles they are fun to root against, the Dubs everyone was on their side was fun to root for, then they started acting out a bit and some switched to LeBreezy, either way it didnt hurt the league

these guys arent a lock either, still think people think too much in fantasy when looking at these super teams

ya in the regular season they are going to be putting up 120+ all the time

but when it comes to the playoffs there's only so much offensive usage around, defense matters a lot more

plus this team has to trade Bogut to fit KD, they are still going to be weak against a big lineup (as things look at the moment)

KD signed a 2 year deal with an option after the first year.

True, good points.

About the BC point again though...there is nothing to compare this team to, any comparison falls apart well before you get to 4 all stars under the age of 30. So while "these teams" don't always win, this isn't one of those teams.

Barnes and Ezeli are gone though, even though that says they're there. No way they can match their new upcoming contracts.

I'm thinking Iggy too eventually. Dubs need to make a calling for some big guys to come cheap, in exchange to try and win a championship.

thats gonna be tough to do when cleveland/SAS/LAC etc can give them 10-15m to do it with the new cap vs the league min the dubs can
