Welcome to the wildest coaching carousel we've seen ...

In last week's CFP ranking, ND and Miami had identical 9-2 records and Miami beat them head to head. Yet ND was ranked higher.

SOS and SOR means a ton to the CFP committee.

OU played and beat 9-3 michigan by DD.

Ole Miss played no one in nonconf.

The SOS and SOR between OU and Ole Miss is no comparison. OU's is way stronger.

Re LSU interest in Lane, it was clear to many people who live, eat and breathe college football, that Lane was their one and only target from the getgo when BK got beaten by A&M like a dog at home on 10/25.

It was over for him.

Guarantee you that LSU's people got in touch with Lane's people (his agent is not hard to find) no later than Monday 10/27.
Someone in this thread said Lane had 40 days to decide but gave his assistants 1 hour (Lane is disputing the claim he gave an ultimatum to his assistants) but tonight marks 34 days since Kelly was canned.

Everyone knew where this was going.
Again NOT true about Ole Miss not playing anyone non conference - it’s not hard to look at schedules or resumes. We beat 10 win Tulane and likely CFP team by 35. Once again you are misinformed BUD

Go look at SOS and SOR metrics. It's all available.

OU is about 10th

OM is about 40th.

Bad news for the Indiana's, Texas Tech's, Ole Miss's and Vandy's of 2025:

The Portal Transfer rules changes being implemented on 01/02/2026 will change things in terms of multitransfer players in the same calendar year:

Major NCAA Division I football transfer portal changes for 2025-2026 include a new, single transfer window from January 2–16 and the elimination of the spring window. A 15-day exception is also in place for players on teams that change coaches. In other sports, a key 2025 change allows athletes who have already transferred once to transfer again and be immediately eligible without sitting out a season, provided they maintain academic eligibility.

Football transfer portal changes
  • Single winter window: The portal officially opens on January 2nd for most players, replacing the previous December opening and eliminating the spring window.
  • Late season exception: A 15-day exception is given to players on teams that make a coaching change.
  • Post-championship exception: Players on teams that reach the national championship will have an additional 5-day period to enter the portal after their final game.
