Not sure their thinking by moving signing day so early, it's obviously what's caused all of this chaos in the middle of a playoff hunt. Can't really blame the schools or the coaches for need to get things pretty ironed out this week to save next season.Frames has flipped 6-8 PSU commits to VA Tech.
Signing day is very early this year, Wednesday.
He's a players coach!
No coach is hurting PSU immensely.
I detailed why signing day was moved early AM in this thread. Not sure their thinking by moving signing day so early, it's obviously what's caused all of this chaos in the middle of a playoff hunt. Can't really blame the schools or the coaches for need to get things pretty ironed out this week to save next season.
Reading things on X from KY fans about the potential of Hartline going there is hilarious.
Yeah, not a big Franklin fan, but:Frames has flipped 6-8 PSU commits to VA Tech.

Why is it hilarious?
His brother, Mike Hartline, is a quarterback for the Wildcats and now an offensive quality control coach on the UK staff.
Given the success of the tOSU offense after replacing key starters on Offense, why would he not be considered a serious candidate?
It is not like the list of names connected right now are they type that make one fall out of their seats?
Here are the current odds:
- Will Stein +200
- Brian Hartline +300
- Neal Brown +500
- Glenn Schumann +600
- Dan Mullen +700
- Bob Chesney +1200
- Sonny Dykes +1200
- Chip Kelly +1400
- Gerad Parker +1400
- Brian Kelly +1400
- Joe Brady +1400
- Jeff Brohm +1400
- Brent Key +1600
- P.J. Fleck +2500
I’m no Franklin fan.Yeah, not a big Franklin fan, but:
He signed early to have a better shot at these recruits. He could have strung out Penn St a couple of more weeks for a little more $$$, but he did not.
He signed early in the week before the last home game against Miami so he was able to get recruits in for a gameday recruiting visit, which is unheard of for a coach taking over a new team.
VT is a logical place for Franklin since he has coached all around the area at Vandy, Maryland, and Penn St.
He seems motivated to show Penn St that they fucked up.
It seems like a perfect fit and a situation that VT could not have dreamed of the day that they fired Pry.
Think VT and Sparty both did insanely well all assuming Fitz ends up in E Lansing. Was pretty much out of left field but good hire in my bookI’m no Franklin fan.
If I’m VT; I’m over the moon![]()
It’s hilarious because unless Hartline wants his head coaching career to die before it even begins, there is no chance he’s taking that job.
CBS reporting Penn State targeting Sitake from BYU…
![]()
The games haven’t been played yet, but both look great. Honestly, impressed with VT going in like that and Small Game James saying fuck the money/Think VT and Sparty both did insanely well all assuming Fitz ends up in E Lansing. Was pretty much out of left field but good hire in my book
Penn State hiring Sitake would be such a colossal disaster, that I can only say my prayers every night that it comes to fruition.I said earlier today that I believe he is just using them to get a better contract at BYU. He is signed through 2029-30 but 'only' makes $3M per yer.
I agree it would be a bad match but you can't compare him to Clay Helton.Penn State hiring Sitake would be such a colossal disaster, that I can only say my prayers every night that it comes to fruition.
Think Clay Helton, except 20 times worse.
Like I told my friend:Jimmy Sexton with the industry by the balls again
They have the money due to a guy named Ryan Smith. How do you think they are buying their hoops team?Color me stunned if Kalani leaves BYU for Penn State. He is a devout Mormon who has spent 28 of the last 30 years in Utah. He has no recruiting ties whatsoever to the Northeast.
This feels like such an odd fit that I can't imagine any other motive outside of getting paid more. I predict BYU takes him from $3M a year up to $5M.
They should have the money now after the Big 12 move.
Reports that Sitake is in fact staying at BYU. Is this the worst coaching change in history?
In fact, he would have been a better hire for UCLA than the JMU guy but that's a step down for him.
