*Fordham’s special teams came up with another big play, as sophomore defensive back Nate Lindsey-Gill blocked a Leopards’ field-goal attempt with 3:30 left in the game, but Lafayette’s defense stalled the Rams at the Leopards’ 30-yard line to seal the win.
*Loughridge finished with 79 yards on 23 carries, while Capaldi completed 21-of-39 passes for 157 yards, an interception and 83 rushing yards on eight carries.

Drake 27, Valparaiso 3

VALPARAISO, Ind. – Joe Frommelt recovered a muffed punt in the end zone to ignite Drake in a 27-3 victory against Valparaiso on Saturday at Brown Field. After the offense went three-and-out on its first possessions, Shane Dunning’s punt was muffed into the end zone, where Frommel recovered it for the game’s first score. Drake’s offense tacked on a second touchdown on its next drive, with Blake Ellingson finding Mitchell January for the five-yard score and a 14-0 lead. Valparaiso would break through in the second half courtesy of Ryan Hawk’s 32-yard field goal, but the Beacons were held to 80 offensive yards. Drake finished with 356 offensive yards, with Luke Bailey pacing the effort with a 17-of-26 outing for 224 yards but did not throw a touchdown.

Davidson 42, Marist 19

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Mari Adams ran for 164 yards and two touchdowns, including the game’s first score, to lead Davidson past Marist, 42-19, on Saturday at Davidson College Stadium. Adam’s first score was followed by Andrew Frazier’s 43-yard touchdown pass to Brody Reina and Sam Valor’s six-yard run as the Wildcats raced out to a 21-0 lead. Marist would close within nine points midway through the fourth quarter as Sonny Mannino found Mohamed Diawara for a six-yard touchdown, trimming the Red Foxes deficit to 28-19. But Adams pushed the lead back to 16 points with his second touchdown on the ensuing possession to secure the win. Marist and Davidson combined for 965 offensive yards, with the host Wildcats holding a 540-425 edge. Frazer also had 100 rushing yards for Davidson, running for 115 yards and adding another 144 on 8-of-10 passing with two touchdowns. Mannino threw three touchdowns for Marist, completing 18-of-41 passes for 312 yards.

Butler 40, Morehead State 6

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Butler’s defense ran its scoreless streak to 179:19, and its offense scored the game’s first 33 points to secure a 40-6 victory against Morehead State on Saturday at the Sellick Bowl. With the win, the Bulldogs start a season 5-0 for the first time since the 2009 season. Reagan Andrew threw two touchdowns and ran for two more in the win, finishing with 172 passing yards and 58 rushing yards. He ran for the game’s first touchdown before passing for one on each side of halftime to help Butler open up a 27-0 lead. Morehead State broke Butler’s scoreless streak with 6:56 remaining in the third quarter when Carter Cravens found Ryan Upp for a 24-yard touchdown. Cravens finished the game, completing 14-of-20 passes for 139 yards.

St. Thomas 34, Stetson 24

ST. PAUL, Minn. – St. Thomas scored four touchdowns in the first quarter and held on for a 34-24 victory against Stetson on Saturday at O’Shaughnessy Stadium. The Tommies offense didn’t take the field until nine minutes left in the first quarter but had a 14-0 cushion thanks to its special team’s unit. After forcing a three-and-out on the game’s opening drive, St. Thomas’s Matthew Guggemos blocked the punt and recovered it in the end zone for a quick 7-0 lead. On the next Stetson drive, Logan Cassady blocked a punt, scooped up the loose ball, and ran for a 13-yard touchdown. When the Tommies offense finally took the field, it was courtesy of a Guggemos interception, and it would score on its first drive. St. Thomas then used a pick-six with 3:47 left to push its lead to 28-0. Stetson did not fade away and scored twice in the third quarter, both on Brady Meitz passes, to trim its deficit to 31-17 and closed within 10 points with 3:57 left after Malik Dryden’s 13-yard touchdown run, but the Hatters could get no closer. Hope Adebayo had the Tommies’ lone offensive touchdown as part of a 19-carry, 86-yard effort. Metize completed 24-of-38 passes for 193 yards and two touchdowns but was saddled with three interceptions.

San Diego 27, Presbyterian 21 (OT)

SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Ruben Lopez’s 87-yard scoop and score on the first possession of overtime pushed San Diego to a 27-21 victory against Presbyterian on Saturday at Torero Stadium. The Toreros and Hatters traded touchdowns throughout regulation. Presbyterian took a 21-14 lead with 10:06 remaining in the fourth quarter courtesy of Collin Hurst’s 19-yard touchdown run. San Diego’s offense would get its last chance with 33 seconds remaining on its 47-yard line. Grant Sergent completed three passes during the ensuing drive, including a 26-yarder to Josh Heverly to force overtime. In the extra period, San Diego’s defense saw two sacks erased by penalties, and Presbyterian had a 1st-and-Goal on the six-yard line. But on the drive's third play, San Diego’s Trey Ortega forced a fumble, and Lopez picked up the loose ball and rumbled 87-yard for the game-winning score.

Furman victorious in visit to Johnson Hagood, taking down The Citadel

After going down 10 at halftime, Furman fought back in the second half to complete the comeback against The Citadel by a final score of 17-16.

Trey Hedden led the way for Furman, throwing for 246 yards and two touchdowns in this one. The team's success was driven by quick, explosive plays. With only 22.2 game minutes of possession, the Paladins offense made the most of their limited opportunities.

Dervon Pesnell, Johnathan Bennett, and Corey Ibrahim were all contributors for The Citadel in the loss. The Bulldogs will be disappointed with their offensive performance. Their 257 total offensive yardage on the afternoon falls below their season standard thus far of 316.7 yards per game.

Western Carolina wins in faceoff with Wofford at E.J. Whitmire Stadium

Western Carolina prevailed in a tough battle against Wofford on Saturday afternoon, winning by a final score of 21-17.

Jalynn Williams starred in the ground game for Western Carolina, rushing for two touchdowns. Williams got help as well, particularly from Cole Gonzales and Corey Reddick Jr. The team clearly put a premium on ball security, as the Catamounts did not fumble the ball all game.

Pauly Seeley led the way for Wofford. Seeley leaned on receiver J.T. Smith, who recorded 68 yards on four receptions.

Samford victorious at home, takes down VMI

Samford outbattled VMI on Saturday afternoon by a final score of 27-3.

I wasn't around much last week, but pretty happy how I managed the football time and what came out of it.

This week is actually more uncertain. Evacuating the Florida gulf coast tomorrow for the new assumed hurricane that is coming right at us. So I'll be going to a friend's house north and then go home from there at which point I will have all kinds of things to get caught up on...so as with this time last week, hope things go well for everyone. I'll see you all towards the end of next week.

Looks like FD has thrown in the towel on originating the FCS

Didn't put up any lines on the missing games Saturday

No lines out on Wednesday when they had been routinely doing that before

shocking that they just threw in the towel on many FCS games saturday morning. just didnt even put a line up for like 7-9 games. what the hell are they doing over there.

to not put up a line is astonishing.

They did that crap all the time last year. One week they would put up all the games. The next week none. The week after 5-6 of the 11am games and none of the rest. Got so bad I quit going there all together.

Disappointed no early lines. Although really what I want is consistency. FD releases throughout the week were pretty crazy. Early hours of the morning, mid-afternoon, Tuesday, Wednesday - it was anyone's guess what they were going to do.

I've home since Tuesday night. Haven't done any football work yet. Not sure if I am going back to Florida next week or not. I do know I have football Saturday!! Need to get caught up still and see what's what. More later.

Appears they took down Harvard - Cornell. SWAC game still up. Don't believe I have any opinion on those Friday games right now

Heritage has total and ML, no spread. Shows 49.5 for total...Cornell D not good - that's low

Last year's total was 47, they scored 64. 2022 total was 49 they scored 63. 2021 total was 47.5 they scored just 34 (not much O in that one - Wang was only a reserve/running QB at that point)

Cornell and Albany combined for just 41 pts last week (total 52.5) but there were A LOT of pts left off the board in that one (teams scored just 2 TDs combined on 9 RZ trips). Cornell - Yale was 70 pts on a 46.5 total and Cornell - Colgate was 65 pts on a 46.5 total (Colgate scored way more than their average on Cornell D). Harvard - Stetson was just 35 pts, but that was bad weather and Cornell O much better than Stetson. Harvard - Brown scored 59 on a 50 pt total and UNH - Harvard scored 51 (I have that as a push). You'd think Harvard D is supposed to be good, and not like they are bad, but Brown put up 406 (5.4) on them and UNH had a very good 1H before Harvard put the clamps on them 2H (UNH scored on first 3 poss of game).

I think that Over 49.5 is pretty reasonable for this game

FD shifted the FCS to the far right instead of next to NCAA, at least that’s how it’s now showing up on my cell.

Took some Georgetown +14,5 as well. Lafayette still fairly good but not sane mojo as last year.

And got a very tiny piece of Bryant. They’ve been improving. Am concerned Albany just played best game of year their though.

Furman favored over UTC? Social is a little schitzo, but this Furman team doesn’t deserve that vs Chatt

Are you guys on the app or web? I’m refreshing and don’t see commerce either

I think they got a new guy doing these games now.

Put lines up without half points
Looks like all lines going up
Some lines really suck and I would bet everything I own on it if possible
