Rockies have to be interest when we look at the DBack struggles vs LHSP now 0-5 . In 5 starts and a few relievers appearing against them they have scored 9 runs which I believe is 5 runs in the starts.

until proven otherwise, I will be taking a VERY LONG look at any LHP facing the baby backs

The interesting part is the LH arent top notch but are solid type SP and all vary in style. The SF duo was struggling coming in as well ....

See at least 1 thing I will bet with vigor. And I will post it tomorrow after I bet it.
 
Marlins-1 in a bounce back after being shut out. Wasn't on them tonight because I don't trust Miller that much but not convinced Karstens is capable of doing much of anything positive in this start. He was 0-5 at home last yr as well. Marlins losing is a good thing imo for this game. Sanchez is looking at 2er in 11ip this year. Fish offense picks it back up here.

Rockies +105 / Under 10: Simple fade of DBacks against LHP. Morales has already done the task once against DBacks on the road at +123. Petit isn't that bad, don't see a lot of runs in this game.

Tigers -110: Weaver has had struggles with Tigers. Angels lineup isn't producing and will really miss Vlad for a month. Angels have had a roller coaster start of the season and haven't really performed so far. Galarraga is off to good start and has prior success against Angels. Like that Detroit is coming off 2 straight wins @ Seattle. Angels were just swept by Minnesota and almost swept by Mariners.

Orioles 1st 5 -110: Looking at the main guys in the Orioles lineup against Contreras, Roberts is .344 in 32ab, Markakis is .385 in 13ab, Huff is .318 in 22ab. Is Jones going to be back in the lineup? Orioles coming off getting swept in 4 games @ Boston and losers of 5 in a row. WSox just took 3 of 4 @ Tampa. Contreras pitched a little better than his numbers indicate against Detroit. I don't know much about Bergesen except that I found he was their minor league pitcher of the year in 2008 and is 1-1 w/ 2.45era in AAA. Think it might be worth a shot if I like what I read about Bergesen tomorrow. Orioles are 3-1 in the first game of the series this yr.

Nats Team Total Over (?). Think the Nats get to Kawakami this time around. Don't really know until I see a number here but like the Nats for 6 runs tomorrow, maybe 4 of which come off Kawakami. Offense hasn't been the issue for the Nats.

I believe and have played played Florida su and rl. Not the play that interests me but a good play. Karstens has lost 7 in a row at home for Pitt and every game by 2 or more and the staff ace plays the next day who they are already thinking Cy for. They have only won 1 consecutive game this year.

Loved Pitt today but tough to go to the well again with Maholm on Wed vs a struggling Nolasco . Not to mention look at it like this : Sanchez is a huge upgrade over Andrew Miller when you break down the stats while coming into the season Karstens may have been ahead of Ohlendorf that was far from true when you see what unfolded in ST for each. Then Ohlendorf duels Carpenter and pitches a gem today for 2 very good starts in three . While Karstens only got the 5 spot after a terrible ST and has been skipped making his last start his only ......simple FLA throws a better SP and Pitt a worse and thats very clear IMO and yet the price remains the same ......

Saw this amazing "trend" for Texas but not sure how long the time period is . Rangers are 14-3 L17 on the road with a total bewteen 7 and 8.5 ...what this means to me is 7 to 8.5 totals are usually representitive of facing a high quality SP and Texas has managed to win 14 of 17 despite a team that struggles on the road...actually looked quick they were 12-2 last year in that role and actually lost the 1st game of the season to Bedard in that role then won 12 of 13 ..think Lackey twice , King Felix twice , Bedard , Lannan , Dursch , halladay , blanton , lost vs washburn , gallagher , braden ...some crap guys thanks to Oak and Sea but thats pretty good otherwise ...

Halladay is an over machine 10-1 over L11 and somewhere around 67% when on normal rest have to dig it u again..

Tribe Under 10 ? KC hasnt LHP and Laffey goes again vs them while osnon has been more then serviceable so far ..day to rest the pens as well...

Balt off the sweep and look to play on Contreras more on RH lineup but damn after his last outing said I would play on him next game ...kinda have to rethink that ..

Baker off a terrible start and Wake near no hitter total opposite ends of the spectrum so might like at Minny thinking we need some extreme events to restore balance ...

Probably take a stab with Texas as McCarthy has been solid in the launching pad in Arlington while Jays bats cooled off IMO vs Oakland ...about 5 runs last 21-22 innings...so that makes me rethink the obvious over lay and may lean UNDER ...again pens rested when needed...

depending on days rest to decide the LAA-DET game so have to check the SP info...both SP vary greatly depending on days rest ....

think you have to like SF as SD comes back from the East Coast ....SFG just allowed 2 runs in the entire ZOna series and is a home pup...

no way can I trust the cubs or Harden to go deep enough to lay 220 to 240 vs anyone at the moment .....:cheers:






 
Seattle looks to be a good ML buy . Seattles Washburn ERA 1.29 and going 6 and 8 innings last two games vs.the Rays Sonnenstine with over 6 ERA and lasting only about 5 innings first two starts. Washburn had the flu last week but is said to be over it.

id assume it would be Moyer and not Blanton
 
Shh Nut wait for tomorrow on one of those. Think you must make a play on KC and Ponson. I am conscious of the fact that I have been betting a lot against Cleveland and on them only once but this will change. Tomorrow however Cleveland is still 2-9 against right handers, Ponson is 5-5 last 10 away, KC is a very good team playing off a loss and Cleveland has not won a night game. Also the history is simple. Lafferty wins at KC and loses at home and the money odds are great. Should warn this is dangerous. HIs era at that park over his career is very bad and there are still batters on that team that have hit him but much of that was a long time ago. Last 6 his team is 2-4 and 4 of his starts were reasonable. But it could be dangerous very seriously.

taking a little peek at Stl RL. Perez is pretty much a bum and hasn't won at St. Louis in his 5 career starts.
 
Indians need wins, they are playnig great right now and all I can say is this:
I will say only this:
PONSON is 0-7 when starting against CLEVELAND with an ERA of 8.58 and a WHIP of 2.031.
LAFFEY is 2-2 when starting against KANSAS CITY with an ERA of 2.73 and a WHIP of 1.180.

Jones in the Baltimore Suns said he would play today. In first game of series Baltimore has scored 10, 5, 10 and 8 runs and they have a team total of 4.5 on Baltimore which I bet over.
 
Played Detroit reluctantly. Angels last 10 were 7-3 against them so its their turn. Angels did not adress their problems from last year in pen and hitting so they have to suffer a while.
SportsNut mentioned Minn with Baker off a bad game and Wakefield off a great game. I agree strongly but am limiting it to mostly first half. Wakefield plays well off Boston losses. They have won 5 in a row. I think it is very likely that he cracks open big in the first half but am not so sure Minn can hold the lead in the rest of the game. Also a small bet on over 5 in the first half. Remember the last time these teams played Boston swept the series and finished with an 18-5 game

I am staying away from the tiger game..Galarraga is a daytime pitcher, he did have success last year vs. Angels but Figgins was not in lineup, no Abreau obviosuly and lefties hit him better. Angels need a win..tough game to cap...gl.

Good stuff Tuck. Thanks for the heads up with Minny will play both . Twins lost Crain but promoted the youngster that did well in Sept but came to camp out of shape this year (cant recall his name at the moment) .

On a side note with LAA pen I think the Twins series had alot to do with the SP exiting early and losing Oliver the typical long man to the rotation. As you said thats not fixed by any means but if they can stick to having Jose , Shields then Fuentes its still a decent group with alot of upside but inconsistency. Its really the 6th inn or if any of those guys are rested/overworked that makes it a problem . Clearly losing KRod hurt and sick thing is he is back closer to form of a few years ago with more op on his fastball..at least from what I have seen...

I lean LAA more because of the SP matchup where Weaver benefits from pitching on 6 days(5days rest - some sites list the info differently) while Galarragga has struggled...

Scott Baker will be fine. He's the only pitcher the Twins gave an extension to this offseason and I'll say I don't think they would have if he doesn't have long-term ace potential. How long will it take for him to restore normalcy? Who knows, but his first start can be chalked up to rustiness. He was leaving pitches up and that's just not like him. Slowey did the same in his first start, though he's more of a flyball pitcher. Baker's PECOTA projection shows him a slight regresser this year, but I'm not sure he's fade material just yet. I just hope we're not looking at a Brandon Webb-type situation...
 
Small bet on Oakland plus 1.5. No really sure what to do here but some facts stand out. Petitte has been better on 4 days rest than 5. Yanks not good in first game of series. Yanks not good at home on TUesday and last 10 at the site Oakland has lost by 2 or more 2 times.
 
Any thoughts on Baby Backs Team Total Under 5 +105. I also think its a little strange they have the highest posted total tonight in this game, considering the first 5 innings Under 6 line as well. Am I missing something here with the ump or something?

kc @ cle : another pretty damn tough game to figure but im kinda liking KC +1.5 and under.

oak @ nyy : really liking the yanks to at least cover -1.5; actually looks like some solid value because oakland has been getting too much of the book's respect imo.

tex @ tor : really like the doctor and under. as far as the spread goes kinda like +1.5 more than -1.5

min @ bos : got burned on the under in boston yesterday morning but im coming back with it here heavy.... when deciding between boston ML or minny +1.5, i like minny better. less juice on it as well.

Let me explain my thinking on this real quick.

I'm a holder of a Rockies +105 ticket tonight. Going in to this game, The bet is based off of Arizona scoring 4 total runs on the 6 LH Starting Pitchers they have faced this year. If Arizona is to score 6 runs in this game, I'm not counting on holding a winning Rockies +105 ticket in the end. Arizona has scored 6 or more runs in 4 of their 13 games. They faced a RH starting pitcher in all 4 of those games as well. This is an Arizona team that has scored 2 or less runs in 8 of their 13 games. I'm thinking if I am going to win my Rockies ML bet, good chance that I would win the Zona team total bet as well.
 
Not at all Jimbo my whole post just got wiped out because I hit refresh by accident . Anyway my main concern was if Hampton didnt make 7 full innings how the middle relievers would do and sure enough they blew it . Along with just terrible situational play by Houston ...leadoff single , DP then 2 solo Hrs and then pence gets thrown out trying o stretch a single and gets K'd looking with the bases full vs a guy throwing nothing but fastballs ...

On the orioles game dont like the Bergerson kid on the surface . First thing that stands out is way to much time playing A ball(injuries or not ) . Next thing is he had but 72Ks in 145 innings in Double A thats absolutely terrible . These guys who rely on command have to be extra perfect when they climb levels . Now its the real thing and doubt he is going to get the close pitches from the UMPS either . The fact he won organizational pitcher of the year probably says more about the farm system then him .....

So even though I like Balt situational dont see this kid being special by any means and Kirk Saarloos is the guy that pos into my mind when I see his stats in the minors....

fwiw ....strong play on the Rays as I see this as just what the doctor ordered. Seattle hasnt hit that well and they benefited from some good spots early . Think they have been favored 4 times and a PK once so far winning just 2 of the 4 as chalk when King Felix started losing with Bedard and Silva the past two (as well as bedard as a PK@ Minny when the pen choked)

Sonnastine was solid vs NY and has pitched real well at Safeco and granted Washburn has some very good outings against TB but he missed the key ingredient in Evan Longoria and the addition of Burrell makes them even tougher . For whatever reason they hit better away vs LH then at home from what I recall especially Longoria.....

Lasy year Sonnastine was +125/-135 @ Seattle vs King felix . While SEA has improved still think the price is incorrect as quality teams that are tossups will be better for the opponent which is what happened with DET IMO......played them -1.5 +150 also

Next fav is LAA mostly due to the fact LAA needs a win and they SP are negative for Galarraga and plus for Weaver in terms of days rest stats ...

Also riding COL but scared because I know ZOna wins this series it just me being hopeful they get a Haren a win tmrw and not the sweep. Zona numbers vs LHP are just so bad you have to ride COL ....

Probably play on SFG as well....Peavy hasnt been sharp ...

its all the same bro. I play a ton of games but also a ton of "etc" plays ..1st H , TT , 1st inn , 1st score ...as long as we both win in the end its just a matter of my inability to take much at face value...:shake:

I passed on SFG for the Over fwiw ..didnt realize how bad Cain was pitching every 6th day to last minute ....5 + ERA last year..:cheers:
