Warriors playing 4th in 5 nights. Cavs coming off two days off after two wins. Kyrie vs Curry. Tough game to pick
 
Lakers/ Over tt on the Lakers looks decent.
Hoped that Toronto will win last night, to take the Warriors, but them winning + Curry's injury - will stay away.
Really like the Pistons here. 2 - 0 this season over the Bucks, including a win in Milwaukee under Boylan, not sure why the line is so low.
 
Think Curry is out. Some interest in Detroit under.

Over tt on the Lakers looks decent. Have real doubts here
 
No Bogut. Maybe no Curry and no Barnes.
Thompson and Lee had real shooting slump before last night's game, but not sure if that means they are out of it or was it due to Bogut getting attention in the pain.

Cleveland is a lean, but worried that they won three games straight.

imo none of the trends are relevant or have a large enough sample size. i also couldnt care less about games that happened in 2010 and 2011. Last year, maybe, but these teams are completely differnet than they were then. Also, I really don't think anyone on Indiana or Detroit care about the Artest game enough for this to be a look ahead. Who was in that game that is still on their team? Prince? Is that it?

Hornets

The Hornets are the best road dog team in the league this year. This season, they are 15-5-1 ATS as a road dog. Since the 2010 season, they are 52-29-1 as a road dog. They are especially good coming off a road dog win as a road dog. In the last twelve, they are 5-7 SU (-2.1 ppg) and 10-2 ATS.

The Lakers playing as a home favorite when they have a game on the road the next day are 7-3 SU and 3-7 ATS (average line -7.7) in their last ten. When they are a home favorite playing against a team off a road win as a dog, they are 4-9-0 ATS since the 2010 season. Teams playing as a home favorite after two games where they covered the spread by at least five points are 67-42 SU (+3.7 ppg) and 42-65-2 ATS (average line -6.1) since the 2011 season. If their opponent is coming off a road win as a dog in this situation, they are 53-25 SU (+2.9 ppg) and 25-35 ATS.

The Lakers have shot over 50% from the field in their last two games, and still have barely got over the 100 mark in both. After a game in which they scored 105 or more points, the Lakers are 15-25 ATS as a favorite since the 2010 season. They have not shot over 50% in any of the last 5 meetings with the Hornets. The Lakers as a home favorite in a regular season game are 5-6 SU and 0-11 ATS in their last eleven when they score less than 100 points. The Lakers have averaged 97 points against the Hornets in their last ten outings. Monty Williams : “We don't have enough firepower to go out and try to outscore teams. We have to play a game that is relatively ugly at times.”

The Hornets are 5-11 SU and 11-5 ATS on the road as a dog seeking same season revenge for a home loss since last season. When seeking revenge for a same season loss, they are 28-14 ATS in the last two seasons. Since the 2009 season, the Lakers are 13-27 ATS as a home favorite when they beat a team on the road already this season.

These two teams met in early December in New Orleans. The Lakers were a 4.5 point favorite on the road, and they won and covered in a game where they had no rest coming off a two point loss at Houston. Gasol and Nash did not play in that game, but neither did Eric Gordon, so for the sake of argument, let’s just say injuries were a wash (although really they probably were worse for the Lakers). Now, the Lakers are at home off of two nice wins, including a win over one of the best team in the league right now, and the line opened at 7? Hmmmm.....

The Lakers are 3-10 ATS at home against the Hornets since the 2006 season. After two home games where the Lakers won by 9 or more in both, they are 11-6 SU (+3.6 ppg) and 5-11-1 ATS since the 2009 season when playing as a home favorite. The Lakers are 6-5 SU (+3.1) and 2-9 ATS in their last eleven as a home favorite of 5 or more with a game total of 196 or less.




Blazers

The Blazers are coming off a two game match up against the Clippers. Teams that played the same opponent in back to back games at home, then on the road, are 12-3 SU (+11.1 ppg) and 11-4 ATS in the last 15 when playing at home as a favorite. The Blazers are 8-1 SU (+13.5) and 8-1 ATS when playing at home after a game in which they scored less than 90 points. In conference match ups, the Blazers are 11-1 SU and 8-4 ATS in their last twelve when seeking home revenge as a favorite for a same season double digit road loss when their opponent is coming off a home game. The Mavericks shot over 60% from the field in their home win earlier this season over the Blazers, and teams trying to win on the road against the same team when they shot over 60% are 6-17 SU and 9-14 ATS in the rematch since the 1995 season.

Teams playing as a home favorite after a double digit road loss are 33-11 SU (+6.3 ppg) and 26-17-1 ATS since the 2009 season, when their opponent is coming off a double digit home win and both teams are rested. High scoring teams (average between 98 and 102 ppg) playing against lower scoring teams (92 to 98 ppg) are 13-34 SU (-4.5 ppg) and 14-32-1 ATS after playing in three games where the total has gone over 205 points, when the line is between -3 and +3.

I am betting the Blazers, but I try to deliver any really pertinent trends that I find. So buyer beware!!

The Mavericks as a road dog coming off a double digit win are 7-4 SU and 10-1 ATS in their last eleven. The Mavericks as a road dog after beating the same team in the same season are 6-5 SU (+1.3 ppg) and 9-2 ATS in their last eleven.

I asked a friend who was Detroits biggest rival. Answer was Chicago. Answer was wrong. When one side always wins it is not a rivalry. Detroit Indiana is a real rivalry.
 
Heavy lean Hornets so far.
Among other things Lakers play at Suns tomorrow which they will feel they must win for many reasons including supporting Nash against his late team.

With all the respect to the Hornets, Lakers are 17 - 2 ATS in their wins this season.
So in my eyes, betting Hornets +7.5 has no value. It's either Lakers -7 or Hornets ML.
I really like the way Lakers been handling Hornets and Hornets actually one of the teams that has more turnovers than the Lakers.
Huge miss matches for the Lakers on one end, but I can easily see Artest or Kobe checking Gordon today and Vasquez, just like Nash, usually pass first guy and won't take advantage of Nash poor defense like many other PG's have done this season.
15 - 20 points blowout tonight for the Lakers I think.

I also think that if Lakers go back to old selves, they will lose SU as well - so hoping it won't be the case.

Yeah, I noticed the day as well. Hope it won't be as well.

As for Detroit, it's very simple in my eyes. Sixers and Detroit should feel that they have a chance to catch Boston, now with Rondo out. Both have a lot of home games till ASG break and both should use them to improve their chances in the East.
You talked about Detroit and Indiana, but not a lot of love between Bucks and Bulls as well.
Detroit won both games against the Bucks this season, including handing the first loss to the Bucks in Boylan era.
They won 4 out of 5 last games against Bucks at home and Detroit has their best team in years now.
I think that Detroit played very good basketball for a stretch of two weeks, than few weeks of bad basketball and now, I feel they play really nice again and match up nice against the Bucks.

Could be wrong of course...
 
As for Dallas, very simple logic.
One - this is huge game for Dallas, as Dirk himself said:

Second - 3rd game in 4 nights for a team that should be tired as hell:
The Blazers also showed fatigue, though they won't have much time to rest before their third game in four nights. Their starting lineup plays the most minutes in the league.

8 of the last 9 home games for Portland finished in margin of 6 points or less. Really feel that 3 points can mean a lot for such a game that has every indication of going down to a wire.

Dallas also plays decent against Portland, but more important, in the last 4 games in Portland, Dallas won two, lost one by 2 points and one by 5 points. That's really close (though two of the games were in the playoffs).
Last season teams met three times - two times the game went to OT and once Dallas won by 3 points.
I just feel that backing the dog here has value.

I guess a simple question is why would anyone beat against this.
Note The 2 Laker covers on Tuesday were revenge games.
 
I was really interested in Cleveland, but Irving a ? and Cleveland off three wins made it a no bet for now.
GSW should be really tired now and without Curry, Bogut and maybe Barnes and with Thompson and Lee in huge shooting slump, it can turn ugly for the Warriors.

It qualifies as a mandatory play. I believe major revenge, 5 in 7, look ahead. No fire for GS to stand on.
