Like to have the Pinnacle numbers to glance back at.....

does Tex and Oak play a DH now ...???

Yanks ML - This Ortega kid rose to prospect status late last year but started terribly in AAA this year and was poor vs SEATTLE.

TB/Boston- Rays off a long ass road trip with no rest has to face the hottest team in baseball which also happened to lose 2/3 vs the Rays already this season....Beckett - Under ?? washoping Boston lost for a few reasons on Wed (like betting CLE ML ..)

Tor/ KC- Jays have not lost consecutive games yet and they are down 4-2 now . KC starting to hit LHs better . At this point have to like KC.

SD ML; Pods bats came alive late today in COL and just think LAD another team coming home after a long road trip with no rest = fade. Although SF to LA was the last stop but also last game of the day on WED..

Zona : think Mad Max vs Milw on paper is a good matchup - power RHP vs RHB which tend to swing and miss alot ..Suppan is a question mark but April is almost over so maybe its time he gets it together .....

Wash ML or +1.5 : Boggs pitched well last start vs thin Cubbies team but not sure he is road chalk material . Cabrera is a mystery but Nats were in every game last hoemstand ....why not this one ??

thats it so far:cheers:

Angels had no choice but to call up Ortega. He's clearly not ready yet. However, no way I would feel comfortable laying -215 on the inconsistent Yanks and their bullpen.

KC now up 7-2. This may be the first time the Jays lose 2 straight. Burres was horrible with Baltimore last year, and he was ugly in his first start this year. Going into tonight KC was ranked 3rd in the majors with a .286 BA vs LHP. Davies had a bad last start, but in his 3 prior starts this season he struck out 21 in 18.2 IP. As a Jays fan, I would never back the opposition, but ya gotta like KC at -135.

honestly would probably opt for laying runs here regardless but would lay -400 in this game . Yanks pen is fine and truth be told if used properly think its one of the better units in the game. Its just used terribly at some points . Not sure what hapened with Alabandejo why put Mo in ? At what point is Mo getting ready in any fashion to come into this game . Girardi makes to many panic moves so far IMO. Actually Albandejo struggled last outing vs Balt and I like the kid but we have so many better options as relievers namely Robertson and unless Brett Tomko started to struggle at AAA he threw better then ever in 2009 from what i have seen..

Guess my point is if Uehera is -160 vsLoux then -220 is absolute joke IMO...LAA used its top 2 relievers the past 2 days as well ....

There is no denying that NYY pen has allowed some huge innings this year . To bad Joba and Coke breezed through on99 pitches to have it blemished.

I'll probably consider the Yanks TT as long as it's 5 and the ump is at least somewhat agreeable. :shake:

few points...

yankee series is 4 game set, sportsnut has previously stated how bad they are game 1, but hard to back angels, ortega, and the yanks bats coming alive....

Blue jays seem to be faltering a bit the last week, with all there pitcher injuries there will be a point there pen will be domolished as they are not getting innings from most of there starters...tonite they let tallet who is a reliever get shelled before taking him out (4+ 10 runs)...tomorrow burress on the mound (another reliever/short starter)...

Padres off the good start have faltered badly 2-7 last nine...

Red sox continue to get the unknowns to come up, whether a pitcher or tonite with van emery..Big series with TB coming up as tbay has been struggling to find the magic this season...

Cubs - marlins...cubs struggling 2-6 last 8, and have the marlins who were struggling right the ship a bit against the mutts...

washington as hard as they are to bet, have won game 3 of mets series and tonite of phillies...Spot plays are worth looking for them...

he really wasnt that bad vs SEA but that was at home . Think it was 5 runs(4er) in 5 inn , 5 hits ,1bb to 5 ks but that 9.89 ERA in 3 AAA starts is scary. I dont want to make the kid out to be horrific but clearly think this is a game that could get ugly ...

no fan of taking Yanks in series openers either but Pettitte goes next and he struggled vs LAA last year and is off a poor start @ Boston then CC gets Matt Palmer while Hughes faces Saunders ..so think game 2 looks to be LAA's on paper making game 1 even bigger for NYY especially after these 2 wins ....

on the road LAA is 3-5 now ..defeated Jaukabauskas with Saunders to avoid the sweep , defeated Adam Eaton with Saunders vs a terrible LH team in Balt and today edged Uehara 3-2 as the quality win for them on the road.....

if Yanks cant roll them here thats extremely sad IMO ...:shake:

GL just thinking outloud ..

First impressions. I made some weak silly plays yesterday. Its contagious I guess Would like to study more but for some reason impossible to get to covers. Come here and see these picks. And so my head hurts. fairly certain I play Dodgers rl. Fairly certain I lay 1.5 with Toronto. Briefly it is a little weird to think of betting against a powerful team that is 6-1 in the day and on a team like KC that is 2-6 in the day. Try and make sure you are close to a hospital.
Meanwhile the Padres are 3-7 last 10 and have lost 5 of their last 6 road games while the Dodgers are 5-5 last 10 assuming they lose tonight on my stupid pick against a pitcher with real home field edge. The Dodgers at home are 6-0 with 2 1 run wins. Their starter has been hit on the road not at home
Brian Burres. Look at his last 20 on the road 9 high quality starts. 7 bad starts and 4 average to average plus starts. He was playing on a garbage team. very real chance he steps up with a strong game..
Yankee game. We all know that we do not lay big numbers against the Angels in NY. I need to study this starter but Yankees in game one off 2 big wins at home. I mean seriously Angels are still a real team and you take with real teams given big numbers. We know this so where does this come from. No idea. But consider me down hard on Dodgers and Toronto.
Its not a Democracy. You do not lay against strength.

Good post ..

Yanks series:

AJ vs Oretga

Pettitte vs Weaver

CC vs Matt Palmer

Hughes vs Saunders

- agree that KC is looking very inviting ...remember I said before last start that Burres is terribe on normal rest which I think he is here and he was decent till the b5th @ CWS from what I recall.....

- SD has my interest but they are back to where they should be

- TB just ended a 9 day , 9 game trip from SEA to Oak to Minny and that trip to SEA is long from TB ......now no rest coming back from Minny off a beatdown host Boston and Beckett who has to be somewhat fatigued after the past 2 series ...especially the pen....still have to think TB is in a shit spot but Garza has been good vs them just not his last 2 starts if I recall....

- Nats are incredibly tough to back on the road at one point they were 10-41L51 that I can recall in the last week ...anyway at home they are solid 1st 5 inn ML and were in every home game last homestand ....

All valid stuff Tuck.....

The point about day games is very good in the Tor- KC matchup but I still see it as an issue with good LHs for KC not so much day games . However thats nothing that is even worth arguing / debating as time will tell ...

Here is my problem with LAD = no rest , coming back off a 9 day , 9 game trip with a bullpen that is upside down . Wade may return here but at what level and what is left after tonights game ..?? LAD at 6-0 at home makes them over attractive while SD to me is a better team especially offensively on the road . The one guy to play at Petco is Chris Young and he is the one guyto avoid on the road IMO....SD bats hit well on the road and have the pen edge as well ....dont recall any team coming off a long trip so far in 2009 playing well , let alone winning in 2009. You may have better stats on that though then I...

Burres real simple its a rest factor. Avoid him / fade him on normal rest and look to play him with extra rest .....huge moneymaker in 2008.....

Yanks is for everyone to debate how unready this Ortega kid actually is . All I can say is 9.88 ERA in AAA gets the call by default after Oliver gets hurt and allows 5 runs , 4 er , 2hrs in 5 inn at home vs SEA who has a 3 and 4 hitter hitting 175....LAA is a legit enemy but they are clearly down and if a team has your number (LAA won 5 of the last 6) then dont you want to kick them when they are down .....??? Abreu returns to Yankee Stadium and LAA faces off against Tex ......

:shake:GL bro ....let us know what you finalize ...

Have to admit Ortega last 10 does look awful. Maybe a total play of some kind. I need to get a better idea of what kind of pen the Angels have available. Ortega may only be in 2 or 3 innings or not depending on the rest factor.

I didnt see him and to be fair we have to acknowledge Yanks stink for a good team in series openers and in the past have had trouble with pitchers they havent seen but somenew faces in the lineup maybe altering that pattern (..??))

He was killed by 3 run Hr in the 1st by Branyan with 2 outs that I do know. Of 4 hits two were doubles and 2 were Hrs so does that mean if he gets behind or in an obvious count , hitters can tee off on him ..?? ---asking a fair question outloud ...

Quote To Note: “We’re in a grind right now really. We’ve got some boys on the DL and when they come back we’ll be okay. And we’ll be okay now. We’ve just got to grind it out, get as many wins as we can right now and hopefully it’ll all fall in place eventually.”—LHP Joe Saunders

Also something I missed is Adenharts family and friends were at the 1st game at Camden maybe both games so maybe that was motivational for LAA as well . Who did not play well despite winning both...

Not to familiar with some of these guys in the LAA pen think Arrendondo and Fuentes both pitched the past 2 days ..so good chance they get the day off if LAA is trailing .....

its pricey in a sense because LAA is still a solid team and Yanks are inconsistent as fuck but the fact LAA is 3-5 away with 2 wins for Saunders defeating SEA and BALT with Jauk..and Eaton...plus Loux today 3-2 ...have to think every series at the NEW Stadium should be electric for these Yanks but who knows.....

2 3 5 9 2 1 7 3 are the runs they scored on the road by game 5 was Jauk..and 7 was Eaton and the pen..

thats all I Have ....for now:shake:

Just got to Covers. 1-0 crush after the first road trip this season. Last year The Dodgers were 8-3 in first game back. As for burres, I was actually the first person to mention his rest factor in the distant past. He is older. He had extra rest the first game and still fell apart. He is years older but the talent is still there and in the first game at the WS that was about as bad a spot to come back into the league in as could be imagined. Mark at home on Saturday against Toronto iin MAJOR REVENGE. Why not just take a gun and shoot him.
Brian used to be a favorite of mine. First 5 innings almost invulnerable. But Baltimore was and still is just a factory for disaster but on a team like Toronto when they are really behind him its a very different situation.. Problem is Davies is probably better in day games. Brian's day era not pretty. Davies is hard to pin down as well. Really need to actually click on Burres on the road to find or not find some good road day games. See its very hard to know what is true because Brian was playing on a Baltimore does not win in the day team.

good points ..and agree Orioles cant win in day games ..as for LAD talking no rest and extended trip ? This is technically there 4 th new city ...just tossing it out there not arguing ..the Jays blasted CWS 14-0 last Fri in the same spot

last year just 3 trips that were 3 cities long and all no rest spots they went 1-2 . Losing to Cle 6-4 , beating SD 5-2 and losing to SF 7-1...

2009: no rest unless indicated

Yanks 9 game trip ..won the last road game and lost new stadium opener 10-2

TB 9 game trip ..lost today and return tmrw vs Boston..?

CWS 9 game trip ..lost last game and then lost 14-0 in 1st game back home

Tigers 9 game trip ..win in KC and defeated Yanks on Monday as home pup...

Fla 9 game trip but DAY OFF lost last game and lost 1st game home (swept both series so hard to weigh)

Braves 9 game trip ...lost last game away and 1st game home to STL 3-2

reds 10 game trip ...won last game away and lost 4-3 to ATL 1st game home

brewers 9 game trip ..won last game away and won 1st game home but also swept series vs Pitt which is like 1-18 past 19 in MILW and missing 3 starters while Brews started turning it around 5-2 to end the trip now 8-2 L10

LAD 9 game trip assume they lose today and tmrw ......???

nothing that concrete but some lopsided losses ..

Played both but the Dodgers smaller Burres is just so hard to define but looked at a few of his good road games and saw him go into NY and shut down the Yankees in a day game and go into the WS and shut them down in a day game. The 2 games combined he went 15 innings and gave up 0 runs. His problems in day games stem from Baltimore not himself so that seems like a very fair gamble to me.
Dodgers have been great off road trips but
This Padre pitcher does not look bad to me and I am a little concerned by him. The night era thing for MCDonald looks bogus. Looking at his relief appearances he did fine at night for 2 and 3 inning stints. He simply got nailed in what I believe was his first trip to Arizona in a 1 inning 5 run disaster.
Geer though could be very gifted. Might wind up playing Padres first half for as much as I played on the Dodgers Dodger bet is legit on team strength but that is not all there is to the game

Let me just make this very clear. This year and last year the Dodgers are 9-3 at home off a 2 series road trip or longer. We are talking 75% in the situation.

and the angels bullpen is terrible except for speir

what about arredondo?

fuentes? he has his moments but is still one of the better closers out there when he has that curve going.

oliver is injured but coming back soon, but trust him as well.

Thats the thing though the results vary from 2 game series to 3 game series . I am not saying my way is better but I dont think anything is comparable to 3 city trips that last at least 9 days ...Two game series are like non factors situational where 3 city , 9 days seem to have some negative results attached to it ....3 city trips means you have to make 4 flights and creates that atmosphere of another road game like we have used in the NBA at times

Truth is the travel back from SF isnt crazy to give your arguement a valid point but for me personally staying away from the NO rest 9 days + trips ...

:shake:

Like Joshua Geer fwiw the more fundamental reason I prefer SD as well ...

not to be a pain as this just stuff sticks in my head but Burres at Yankee Stadium is pitching in a park that is built for LHPs and we know most games that inolved LHs at the STADIUM went under . Which further implies to me how much of a plus it can be but also NY was a very LH lineup in 2008 . Yanks hit well in the day though so thats a plus . With CWS also a poor day offense if you bring up the splits from 2008 and many LHP also gave them issues ..sure ESPN has the stats but pretty positive of this stuff off the top of my head .....

Jays are a solid day team though werent they 10-0 last season in their first 10 day games in 2008?? Losing to Det to end the streak on a Monday or something like that ?? Maybe it was DET that was 0-10 and Toronto very good at like 10-2 ...something like that I recall...

as of now Zona , SD , Wash maybe 1st 5 ml or +1.5 RL , Red Sox fade Rays off a road trip , and Yanks -1.5 have my attention...

think what I wanted to say before that 2 series road trips are like 3 game road trips in the nba which dont carry a negative factor to them where as 5 game trips are like 3 city baseball trips IMO..

honestly would probably opt for laying runs here regardless but would lay -400 in this game . Yanks pen is fine and truth be told if used properly think its one of the better units in

OK

I stopped reading the entire thread at this post.

Which side are you talking about laying -400 on?

Do you really think, in April, that one team is worth an 80.1 percent winner over the other, which is what you have to expect if laying this price???

in burres defense for his last start he was as mentioned in a terrible spot and the game was 2-2 in the 5th . he allowed 2 walks and a single but was pulled with 1 out and the bases loaded which the reliever think Camp allowed a GS. It boils down to the fact he is a guy who is crafty and been miserable as a reliever .

OK

I stopped reading the entire thread at this post.

Which side are you talking about laying -400 on?

Do you really think, in April, that one team is worth an 80.1 percent winner over the other, which is what you have to expect if laying this price???

Calm down Rex mere off the cuff remark..

April is over and of course it was to make a point . I understand very well implied odds. Do I think sides have 80% chances of winning at this time ? Maybe not 80 but definetly 75% ...well Twins were in an 80% spot today I guess ...

The point is you have an ace on one side vs a kid who doesnt appear able to get ML hitters out . How is Balt with Uehara -160 vs Loux ( he actually went 7 inn on the road in the majors)who is actually on what we have seen loads better the Ortega and then NYY with AJ Burnett is a mere 55 cents higher ..?? Balts pen is terrible as well . Actually so is LAA pen until you get to the 7th inn and on guys .

Of course Balt was overpriced as well today because they lost and opened around -130 anyway...

Anything can happen but on paper you have a 3-5 road team with 3 uninspiring wins Jaubauskas , Eaton and Uehara facing one of the Top 10 AL SP's and its only -215 ..?? fair market value is still at least -260 IMO .....

also rememeber wherever the hell I posted it in this forum (last day Yanks had a 4 game home series) , my boys are fucking abysmal in game 1s of 4 game sets ........

because of the whole Yankees SUCK in series openers especially 4 game series it will be hardto fuck with anything besides -1.5 but truth be told NY could lose this game and not because LAA will hit AJ....IMO because Yanks suck in series openers ..

Yankees in Game 1s in 2008 (always double check )

Home :12-14
Away : 11-14

Total : 23-28 (about 45% so better then I recalled but still terrible when you realize the avg price)

Home :: 2-1 in 2 game series , 9-9in 3 game series , 1-4 in 4 game series

Away:: 2-2 in 2 game series , 8-9 in 3 game series , 1-3 in 4 game series

2009 :

Home : 0-1 ( 0-1 in 4 game series)
Away : 1-2 (1-2 in 3 game series)

On paper great trend to follow so far is Yanks are 2-8 L10 opening games of 4 game series and 1-5 at home in that span.

Prices :
Yanks vs TB -185 Ian Kennedy (L) ( apprx+170 or ++)
Yanks @ Cle -130 Pettitte (L)
Yanks @ TB -110 Pettitte (L)
Yanks @ Twins +100 Moose (W 6-5)
Yanks vs KC -240 Wang (L) (+220 +)
Yanks vs RSox -130 Pettitte (L) (+120+)
Yanks vs LAA -180 Pettitte (L) (+170+)
Yanks @ Texas -160 Joba (L)
Yanks vs WSox -140 Aceves (W4-2)

Yanks vs Tribe -220 CC (L) (+200 +)

so fading the Yanks at home in openers of 4 game series where they are1-5 would net somewhere close to +8 units ...

A faithful reminder to us all !

Also --

Game 2's in 4 game sets just 3-6 entering today : Home 2-3 , Away 1-3

Game 2's in 3 game sets 22-14 , 10-8 home and away 12-6

In 2008 Yanks were 5-14 in game 1 and 2's of 4 game sets and 0-1 to date now...thats 25% on a 20 game sample......

Calling it a night finish this stuff up tmrw. Going to try and be cautious ( thats less then 40 plays for me ..lol)had a real nice day despite some rough losses (dollar wise). Had a 9-1 stretch outside of the Mets and Orioles losses early and was like 9-5-1 at night even with the silly push on the over 8 ATL and meltdown by the TRIBE...good call btw on STL and Over Tuck to bad I didnt listen...then nailed the Nugget game a bunch of small ways that added up...

and CKR only playing around if it doesnt come off lightheartedly....:cheers:GL fellas ..

and the dam rain out in Texas cost me my HOME TEAMS ML play !! It only won by 27 runs think Texas could handle being +26 runs today ...lol

Problem is Shields has not given up a run in 3 appearences. Some kid called Rich Thompson is floating around rested looking good. Ortega actually did not pitch that bad 4 earned run in 5 innings and 1 walk and 5 k's. In their last 7 games the Angels have scored 10 runs twice, 8 runs twice and 7 runs once and have won 3 in a row. These teams are separated by 1 win. And last year the Angels simply dominate going 7 of 10. As a fan if you want to root for a team that is fine but as a sports bettor if you do not take the dog here with so many question marks then sports is entertainment not a money making activity. These situation are ageless. They come up and come up and come up and there are always people arguing for the drug injection. Not here or ever. Have no desire to watch that kid shut out the Yankees through 6 innings and then watch that bull pen that EVERY ONE KNOWS IS NO GOOD just lock it down. Or just watch Burnett who has given up 11 runs in 11.1 innings get unlucky against a very good Angel offense.

Frankly, I'm more interested in seeing the wind in New York tomorrow. I already fired on the OVER and I am going to bet them all over if there is any chance of the wind being an aid.... I can always get out if need be.....

Obviously speculative, but this is what weather.com has for now. They have it blowing across the field, right to left.

Dont see a total up yet but interested in cubbies/fish under.
Cubs return home after a 6 game road trip..
Both pitchers have good numbers against their opponents. Volstad 3.00 ERA, and marshall 4.57 but those numbers are skewed as he gave up 7 runs in FLA in one outing back in 06.

Fish ML as well. Surprisingly the fish are 13-4 L17 against CHC, and 6-2 in L8 in wrigley.
Even with their success at wrigley, gauging by the SP matchups just think its their best chance to win a game this series,
Fish throw the youngin taylor again (who may not last 5 innings and may exhaust the terrible middle-relievers) to go against harden on friday, and sanchez vs the red hot lilly on saturday. Dont buy into lillys numbers from last outing, the 2-out "double" by haren was a fluke on a ground ball that took an insane bounce into the outfield, following by a single by reynolds. 4 run swing there by an unlucky bounce, i still trust him, and if i remmember right his day splits were excellent last year but havent looked yet.

you dragged me back in ! damnit !

Dont you think your manipulating the numbers though ? Shields has not given up a run in 3 apps ? Okay , he pitched in the 6th inn down 8-3 for 2/3 probably because they had no one else , he threw a scoreless inn in a 8-0 game and threw a scorless inn in the 7-5 win vs balt which he walked the leadoff hitter , retired Greg Zaun hitting below 200 , Luke Scott and Brain Roberts flied out deep ...Which the 3 apps before he retired 2 batters total allowed 5 hits 3bbs no ks and 7 runs....

He may be on track but I dont think its fair to say he IS on track . Still an unknown when he toes the rubber as to what form he will show..

I did say already Ortega wasnt that bad but still Seattle's lineup is weak . Branyans absence hurt and the winner of the Dave Kingman lookalike contest( in HR to K to low bat avg not looks) can hit the longball but still says alot when your offense goes to shit because Branyan is out or Mike Sweeney is out or your lineup or has 3 and 4 hitters scuffling at .175 . He was also home so how does he fare in his debut on the road in Yankee Stadium of all places... he was medicore we will say but also home vs a weak offense ...

LAA won 3 straight but that was on the heels of being swept at home by SEA facing a SP who already beat them , Joe Saunders vs Adam Eaton and 3-2 win today that occurred because Balt had the opps to bury and LAA but didnt...

AJ had 1 bad inning in a game that ended 16-11 , where balls were flying out all game and had this guy named Josh Beckett do alot worse ..11 runs in 11.1 or 8 in the last 2 inn at boston...AJ saved the day every start before this time he didnt have it which was ironic since he was spotted a nice lead ...

its all semantics ...

if NY loses this game its a flat embarrasment . There is no situation that begs LAA here ...none . Other then what I have shown is a NY team who fails in series openers for some unknown reason..or fade the public theories ..LAA has played the Yanks well in the past we all know that . However Vlad is missing and Tex is gone . ARe Tori Hunter and ABreu going to carry the torch ? When Hunter played in Minnesota they never , ever beat the Yanks and Abreu is well Abreu ..... the whole starting staff is gone , K-Rod is gone, Shields is diminishing .....Yanks have there issues as well but Saunders Weaver and 3 rookies is still weaker then CC, AJ , Pettitte , Hughes and Joba .....LAA doesnt have Lackey , Santana , Escobar guys with plus fastballs its has 3 guys who on a good day go 7 inn and allow 3 runs and on bad day allow 5+ and dont complete the 5th inning......

anything can and will happen in sports. I rarely lay heavy prices because its simple if I like favs that are costly , then they should crush there opponent and win by multiple runs . Which is what you do . A game if not for the series opener that I would have no problem laying -2.5 runs . If Burnett sucks then he sucks . The Sox got the best of him and for a guy wgo hasnt been sharp he is in every start so far .

The Angels are a shell of what they were and again if NYY loses here they should be embarrassed. Its 1 silly game on the board of which an avg day in bases is 20+plays . Anyone who does this as a serious activity is surely not wasting all his hopes on 1 play .........my whole point is the tone seems to be there is such a strong case for LAA and yet its nothing but twisted ways of looking at it .....Abreu continuing his power outage er decline has 0 HRS...no reasonwhy Yanks shouldnt win games 1 and 3 , 2 is curious because Pettitte has been terrible vs LAA (though half the team is 167 or less vs LH)so have to think thats LA chance for a win and game 4 is a toss up give the vet the slight edge in Saunders but slight think Hughes is right and if thats the case much higher ceiling then Saunders....

last week you though Det was the play vs Palmer and that was -140 in LAA (which is -200 in det ) and after the Yanks just won game 3 as -150 favs in DET or game 2 as PK vs Jackson the line seems off here ....??

If anything here looking to lay -1.5 andhoping the ugly 9th overshadows the fact we outscored DET like 19-1 the past 2 days or that we had allowed just 5 runs in the 1st 26 inn of the series.....

if the tone is harsh its not supposed to its just late here in NY ... dont get how we can differ on the fact the line is short for the product that LAA has put on the field to date but thats what makes the world go round....

anyway GL if thats how you roll.....

I am sure you have read all the articles already but if you need a good blog ...riveraveblues has had a ton of good info....

dont worry its slid under the radar that NY has played the least amount of home games to date in the majors but AROD is getting roasted again by more allegations. Cant wait ...

this is going to be funny ...how to a destroy a legacy ? Come to NY . Boras ruined him by putting him in pinstripes ..no one cared before:shake:

I don't think weather.com has adjusted itself for the new stadium orientation.

http://www.wunderground.com/sports/MLB/hometeam/New_York:Yankees.html?st=1241118300
shows the wind going SSE which would be left to right and somewhat out to right field.

Not to mention the fact that the arrow from weather.com is showing wind blowing from ENE, yet it says blowing from SE. :shake:

SN, knowing how you cap wouldn't you usually point out how the Yanks won their last two games thanks to two big innings, and the one two days ago, the 10 run inning, came after a fielding error, this is what sparked and ignited them.

Not saying LAA wins nor that there's value there, just saying wouldn't you usually point that out as a negativity and a 'non impressive' segment?

All in retrospective of that -400 remark, and how the Yanks are a pretty strong play.

Not trying to be a smartass, I wouldn't take Ortega here either, just not sure why lay so much on a team that is clearly non impressive as you would put it.

tor @ kc : like KC more than anything really. the over might be alright but that is just based on these pitchers ability to blow.

oak @ tex : according to covers there are a lot of texas backers in this one. really boggles my mind because braden is 10x the pitcher padilla is now. texas still without hamilton and i think oakland is the better overall team. just a big time pitching mismatch, including bullpen. i love oakland and will be on it.

what about arredondo?

fuentes? he has his moments but is still one of the better closers out there when he has that curve going.

oliver is injured but coming back soon, but trust him as well.

both have not started that great this year, arredondo, let me see him do it back to back years as relievers are not reliable. Fuentes, let me see him do it with change of league....

KC has played 8 day games and scored 24 runs or 3 a game. Toronto has played 7 day games and scored 37 which comes out to 5 and 2 sevenths runs a game. Baseball more than anything else is a number driven sport.

dodger line reeks at -145..6-0 at home, public on them, but like mentioned dodgers coming off the trip though padres faltering...

Yankees -270 for the series looks attractive. Alot of chalk but very hard to believe they will lose 3 out of 4 year. I think its a push (2-2) at worst. No reason they should lose the Ortega and Palmer games, and you have to think they can get one of the other two.

it's all good. KC loves lefties and i actually trust KC bullpen more than toronto. pretty sure KC gets at least 4-5 runs today. hopefully that is enough for kyle. i really like KC.

Played under 9.5 and 10 today in KC. Toronto in last game of series 2-4 under this season and the 2 overs were Purcey and Halliday which probably should not count. Something of a position from me with a team that is 10-3 over on the road but this total in a day game in KC smells of a sucker bet over
Toronto has many rested relief pitchers for this game with an available pen listed at 2.91 to KC's 3.67 and these teams have had a tradition of going under. Also over the last three years Toronto off allowing 10 or more runs is 4-9 under so this total in many ways is very strange as is expecting KC to do serious scoring in a night to day after scoring 11 runs the preceding night.

so much posted here without umps.

...i can't even begin to look at the card without them.

...also, if anyone ever thinks a pitcher is gonna have a great day either with conditions/umps please let me know so I can pick them up for my fantasy team

Espn preview section now has Feldman pitching for Texas. Anyone got any info on if there is a pitching change?

Fair and honest statement . My take on the Det series was Yanks would probably lose the opener because CC is a LHP not on his game facing a lineup with some impressive RHBs while NY has shown me time and time again velocity will be an issue especially at this time. Thought Hughes would pitch good and NYY would win game 2 but not enough to bet . Reason is while Edwin Jackson has been damn solid and has a good history vs NY and does have that + fastball at times because he was in our division we have had many looks at him . Then a close game the Yanks pen is the difference. Clearly that 10 run 7th inn was a joke . The good aspect was someone left the door open and we knocked it down like we should . Its not a plus but its also not a negative because they way they have that may not have been a big inning . Yesterdays game again close game with the big inning . Again given an opening Yanks pounced out . To be this is very key . Remember the Boston series ? What happened ? We had a 4-2 lead in the Fri game and many opps to bury the Sox but didnt including the infamous bases load , no out t9th and they 6-0lead or whatever it was the next day vs Boston by game 3 the Yanks had zip in the tank . They needed Pettitte to outpitch the opponent and he couldnt . Funny thing is again same deal on Monday , they needed to CC to outpitch Verlander he couldnt . Neither Yankee starter was terrible but they werent good enough . So what is the key to the past 2 days ? Is it the fluke innings or the fact that Yanks SP clearly outpitched and outlasted its counterpart and when given an opening the offense took advantage . Doesnt that seem like a recipe that can workout here ?

Also the Yanks have had it tough beyond the injuries . Overlooked is the fact they opened the season playing 9 away then came home with no rest , opened a new stadium with a 4 game set vs CLE . Thanks to rain they get just 2 oakland games but the last 14 inn before a day off to start a 6 game trip in Boston which ws a wild and long weekend then head to MoTown. Now again no rest and a 4 game set with LAA. Which we cant forget ST ended with NYY opening 2 games at the new home. Its been a hectic April .

I guess the lost part is no one mentioning how clearly UNimpressive LAA is . A team that is 3-5 away playing Sea , Twins and Balt which only won a game in SEA because of the wide margin in SP and was swept in Minnesota and held 2 and 1 run wins in Balt ...

With every pro and con weighed still dont see how NYY can be any less then -260 to -280 here based on SP . Not saying they will win confidently but what has LA done ? Twice came down to game 3 vs SEA to avoid sweeps , lost 2 of 3 to Oak , swept by Minny .....been home dogs and PKs at home ...

It's definetly a fair point about how the Yanks won but its also exactly why we lost game 1 and 2 in boston when we had some opps wasted. Let me be honest the Yanks are not the greatest lineup in the world . I dont have much confidence in Tex being healthy and Matsui has to stop pulling off the ball . Mix that in with Gradner/Melky in CF and Pena/ Berroa on 3rd base ..thats alot of easy outs that kill rallies ...

I think the whole 9th inn yesterday is watering down the DET series. CC wasnt great but he went 8 solid innings and until the 9th inn yesterday DET had scored 5 runs the entire series which was a damn solid lineup . Also think the Yanks took the foot off the gas yesterday once they exploded . 8-1 it was game over . I even foolishy graded my ML and -1.5 RL plays as WINS . Albandejo will not see a quality situation this series IMO. he has been dreadful the past 2 outings and nothing angers a manager more then not doing your job in 8-1 game. Melancon is nails . Coke has been largely solid and Marte looked his best as a Yankee in the BoSox series . The yankee pen is actually of no concern to me and Ramirez like Pettitte was terrible vs LAA last year so he as well may not get a key spot ...

Yankees -270 for the series looks attractive. Alot of chalk but very hard to believe they will lose 3 out of 4 year. I think its a push (2-2) at worst. No reason they should lose the Ortega and Palmer games, and you have to think they can get one of the other two.

Think its based on the 1st 3 games though . Not sure so double check ...makes sense because game 1 and 3 will be the huge lines ...

so much posted here without umps.

Scherzer IMO will ..not sure he is available though...

Early games -

Think the 1st point for me is if you have been playing Grand Salami UNDERS (Thursdays and Sundays) would say today does not qualify as play . Its not the typical Thursday getaway as most series are 4 game sets just beginning . So with 2 day games actually lean over but not playing it rather keeping it mind ...

These games are relatively unattractive to me. Think Tuck has a fair point about the Tor-KC total but not sure what Burres brings to the table. He is a guy who I think could easily do a 3 run in 5 or 6 inn stint but also could be worse because its him on normal rest. jays had the best ERA in the AL last season in day games just above 3 and 32-18 record but KC has one of the better avgs at 280 with both teams about 5 runs per (Tor avg was tad better 3less day games and just 3 less total runs scored.)

As of now lean KC ..actually might joing Tuck on the KC under before either of those because it is the end of a series and road trip...

update any changes
