[h=2]LAKERS AT SUNS, 10 P.M. ET[/h] March 18, 2013 · 9:22PM
TV: League Pass

  • Suns forward P.J. Tucker, was added to the starting lineup 15 minutes before tip-off on place of Marcus Morris.
  • Lakers guard Kobe Bryant will miss his second straight game with a severely sprained left ankle.Forward Earl Clark, who has a moderate sprain of his right ankle, will start. Jodie Meeks will start in place of Bryant.
  • Lakers coach Mike D’Antoni has a simple formula for his team to win games on back-to-back days for the first time this season. “Keep playing well,” he said. “The reason we haven’t had back-to-back wins is because we haven’t played well enough to beat people a couple times.”
  • Phoenix enters the game with three straight home wins against the Lakers for the first time since a six-game stretch from November 2004 through April 2007.
  • Suns forward Jermaine O’Neal, who left the team for a week while his daughter underwent surgery in Boston to repair a leaking heart valve, said she returned to school on Monday.

[h=2]KNICKS AT JAZZ, 10:30 P.M. ET[/h] March 18, 2013 · 9:55PM
TV: ESPN

  • ESPN viewers may not recognize the New York Knicks when they play the Utah Jazz tonight. Carmelo Anthony will miss his third straight game after having fluid drained from his right leg last week. Tyson Chandler will miss his third straight game because of a neck injury. Kurt Thomas, who was listed as a game-time decision because of a sprained foot, got an X-ray earlier today and will suit up and try to play. The Knicks are already without Amar’e Stoudemire (knee) and Rasheed Wallace (finger). “We are beat up a little bit,” New York coach Mike Woodson said in an understatement.
  • The short-handed Knicks will start Kenyon Martin and Chris Copeland up front along with perimeter players Raymond Felton, Iman Shumpert and Pablo Prigioni. J.R. Smith, the Knicks’ second-leading scorer, will continue to come off the bench. Woodson acknowledged that he’d like to have his bigs available to battle with Utah’s large front line, but he’ll try and adjust. “We’re going to go small,” he said. “We got to try and speed the game up a little bit.”
  • The Jazz, meanwhile, are as healthy as they’ve been in months and may have found something with their starting lineup and rotation. Gordon Hayward made his first start since November in a 90-84 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday night and propelled Utah down the stretch. Utah coach Tyrone Corbin said his focus tonight is on his team and building momentum rather than who’s out for New York tonight. “We have to play,” Corbin said. “We can’t worry about who’s in and out for them. We’ll work off what they had last night. We have to work and do what we need to do as the Jazz in order to be effective and that’s regardless of who they put on the floor.”
  • The Knicks are closing out a five-game road trip. So far it’s been a disaster as New York is 0-4 on the trip and has lost the four games by an average margin of 20 points. The last team the Knicks beat was Utah in a 113-84 victory in New York on March 9. “We got to get a win,” Woodson said. “This has been a tough trip for all of us. We certainly did not come out here after playing the way we did in the Utah getaway game to get out here on the road … we didn’t come out to lose every game. This would be a great morale booster if we’re able to come out with a win and go back home.”

Guess the Nuggets were tonight's 'lemon' bet. Weak 2nd half effort by the 'better' team. No excuses...

I have to admit that the C's are deeper than I expected. These guys can play. I thought they would fold after Rondo got hurt.
