Blow out city. Lions fairytale ends here.
Hard to see Goff backing off from the pressure and making back foot throws like Love did. Or the 9ers falling in coverage due to the field being wet. Both of those things led to multiple scores.
The field being wet. Come on.
Tiny hand purdy wont be throwing in the rain so he will be back to normal. Goff will be able to move the ball with time thanks to the lions good o line. I think difference is Goff throws 2 picks and Purdy 0
49ers 30
Lions 24
Revenge SB for either Ravens / Chiefs
They slipped on 2 touchdown passes. Purdy can’t throw in the rain. It’s pathetic but it happened?
Announcers even said the home team can’t get their footing and the away team seems fine.
It’s not a good excuse…
It's just such an excuse man. Both qbs had to play in it. Niners deal with those kind of elements all the time in that area. They should be more equipped to deal with it than GB
That’s silly. Everyone knows Brock can’t play in the rain. Love obviously was fine. Brock went right down the field when the rain stopped early and pulled a drive out of his ass late.
I can’t belive im asking this but I have to:That’s silly. Everyone knows Brock can’t play in the rain. Love obviously was fine. Brock went right down the field when the rain stopped early and pulled a drive out of his ass late.
How many you think?Lions fans might be louder than niners fans
I'm calm. That's just a weak excuse. Just my opinion.
Did they even play a game in the rain at home this season? I don't think so. Last night I'd heard that Purdy looked like shit in Cleveland in the rain, maybe they meant Cinci but that seems to be a thing if his hands are that small9ers were whooped and shouldn’t even be playing. And it is a weak excuse but unfortunately is a huge problem for them. Fortunately for them it doesn’t seem like it will be an issue again this season.

That’s a tight business locker room

Not an excuse, it’s a weakness Purdy clearly has. Slippage is a different story and the whole team should have been better prepared.
Deebo going out MID game, funny enough like the rainy Cleveland game changes a lot too. No one else can run the plays they have for Deebo and that changes the script. Even if Deebo can’t go this weekend, it’s different being able to prepare with that in mind
Could say it's a tidy boxThat’s a tight business locker room
Don't have final plays yet but will say the niners defense is nothing like past few years, especially their secondary which has been very vulnerable the last month or so. Niners DC also trots the same game plan week in and week out No matter what.
Both teams have similar weaknesses in the secondary, I would give niners edge at linebacker and dline by a smidge if Houston comes back for Detroit. If he doesn't, a bigger edge to Niners. Lions run d excellent at home not as good on road.
I think lions have the better oline and better QB. Wrs are about equal as a group and tight end is probably an edge to Niners since Laporta probably isn't 100 percent yet.
Coaching, depends on your style. It you like aggressive it's mcdc, Shanny more conservative. But shanny with experience and been to the super bowl multiple games.
The crowd won't be a factor in Santa Clara at all. And looks like the weather won't. Probably a great over game. I would like to take niners under 7 but that backdoor is wide open for that dangerous offense if you're holding a -7 imo.
Just my two cents in beginning of week.
Goof 0-5 L5 vs SF. 4 with SB roster. 7 TDs 5 picks. About a 72 QB rating.
The last time they played was almost 2.5 years ago.
Last time he won I think Hoyer was the QB. Former "rival" - if you could ever consider Goof that.
Does anybody trust Shanahan with a lead in this game? SF could be up 13-15 points and that back door will be wide open. We know Det will play hard until the final whistle.
Should be a good game. Looking forward to it. Goff a Cali native so he should be able to handle any weather.
I just believe Shanahan is mind fucked in these spots.
Goff is arguably top 10 QB in the league. The assumption he's terrible has zero merit.
I assume Deebo will play and be pretty healthy. There is a big difference for that offense on whether he goes or not. Game could go either way if he doesn't play but 9ers a deserved favorite if he plays. The line says that he is playing.
9ers have not looked in prime form recently though too, imo.
Should be a great game and grats to fans of either team on getting this far.
Goff was awful in bad weather in college iirc
No fracture. He had a fracture and missed 2 games plus the bye. Hard to see him not active for this one. Having to guard for the end around adds another wrinkle that really opens everything else up. He can pain through it and have 2 weeks off afterward.
