Coaching/GM Carousel 2013

lol

Draft Joeckel, slide Herremans back to guard, Peters and Kelcee come back and you have a top 5 OLine in the league

garbage...get the fuck outta here

all true, although the injures are a risk as always

so you rebuild the OL, you still don't have good QB and Peters will be 32 next year coming off an injury

unless they hit big on the draft still a lot of holes

By the way, that was a wrong move. Teed's usually calculated and correct, whereas I'm usually not. I stand by my position, whatever it was.

I dont understand your point?

Obviously theres holes

but theyre far from completely fucked (unless you think Foles is awful which Im about 50/50 on right now)

I said they need a rebuild and you disagreed, they need a rebuild

some teams have been able to do it on the fly and quick, but most likely it's 2 years

I would be shooting for the season after next to get back to the playoffs (unless Foles goes off next year, which I think is extremely unlikely based on what he has shown)

people thought coming in to this year

Trent Cole, Nnamdi, Babin were the stars of that defense

Babin was cut, Nnamdi is horrible, Cole regressed a ton

the offense is young at the skill positions, with 1 elite player, but not on the lines

just because they have some young players, doesn't mean they don't need a rebuild

their good players outside of a few, are all not young, the team went 8-8 last year and 4-12 this year

the one good year this group had Vick played out of his mind

so I will amend, if they can get top 5 QB play next year, no rebuild necessary

I'm with Smoke, this team doesn't need a rebuild. They may need a QB, I think the jury is still out on that, but I don't think they need a rebuild.

Buffalo needs a rebuild. Jax needs a rebuild. But the Birds have a lot of pieces there. They have two CBs that would start for almost any team in the league, two WRs that would start for almost any team, and Shady who is arguably one of the feature backs in the league. They also have talent in other spots around the field, Celek, Ryans, Cole.

The team needs chemistry, a good draft, and a coach with a scheme and they're .500 or better next year.

Where I agree with 'Teed is that it's two years until the Birds are back to a playoff threat. Maybe not back to a SB threat, but a threat to win a playoff game or two.

Eagles should've made Bill O'Brien an offer he couldn't refuse.

I think the buyout was the problem with BOB. I think it was cost-prohibitive.

the two CBs are DRC and...?

Namdi would still start for 98% of the league, 'Teed. You know that.

I also think you'll see his career make a comeback with the right DC. Sadly I have no idea if that's in Philly, but I do expect it to happen.

I think me and Merill Reese are the only ppl in the world who were impressed with Foles. How he played with that line and no beast wr was remarkable imo. Im fine with him, he may never be an elite qb, but i think hes absolutely an NFL starter.

I do agree that they are still 2 yrs away, unless they have an unreal draft and hitting on a few huge signings. i just dont think qb is an issue.

Trade Maclin to KC for anything.....sign Bowe. Find a legit TE somewhere...draft OL and pray Foles is serviceable.....boom offense....get a legit DC (or gus bradley) a few pieces (S/CB) and boom 10-6 or so.

Find a legit TE somewhere

How is Brent Celek not a legit TE?

i think hes absolutely an NFL starter.

I think he can be. He had his moments this year, but just like you said, with that line WTF do we really expect. I think you have to go into next year with him as the starter. Otherwise you're completely back to square one on offense and you can't do that with the talent you have.

The priority needs to be the OL, then the D, but a good, if not great DC is as important as anything. We could have Smoke as HC and if we had Lovie as DC I'd be fine with it.

Right up until he started mismanaging the game clock. Then we'd have to kill him.

Hunt, not a better line in the history of film. You gotta like the movie and Roy Scheider's character first, but I will take that movie line above all others.
Hoopah!! ya idiot!! StarBoard. Aint ya watchin it?!!?

You know that was the time I was most frightened... waitin' for my turn. I'll never put on a lifejacket again. So, eleven hundred men went in the water; 316 men come out and the sharks took the rest, June the 29th, 1945. Anyway, we delivered the bomb.

Brent is on the downside....he has a spot on the roster but its time for athletic pass catcher.....in the mold of the TEs that are now dominating the league.

And you can't go into next season with Maclin, d-jax, avant, cooper, demarus....I think Maclin is possibly the most over rated guy on the team....I think he is super soft and always has been...has the talent not the balls.

I think Maclin's a solid 2 but he is a liability if you ask him to be a 1. Reminds me of Pinkston in that sense

I think it's tough to challenge Maclin's toughness after the shitkicking he took all season long this year. He really got beat up good.

But like Pinkston, I see DW's point, durability is an issue.

That said, I'm not as down on the corps overall as everybody else seems to be. I think they're solid. I question their ability to stay healthy—and if DJax really cares about playing football on any team where he's not the center of attention. But talent-wise I think they're fine at WR.

Personally do not think much of the Philly wide outs at all....but that has to do with the QB play as well

Nnamdi isn't a top 30 CB anymore

I just read what Smoke/Galtie/Nurda have written the past 6 months, he's been horrible

completely agree with that, Maclin and D Jax could be the best 2-3 in the league if they had a big legit ball possesion WR1 or an excellent pass catching TE

Gus Bradley appreciates that linebackers exist and you should have multiple talented ones on your team. This makes him a step up from the previous coaching staff.

lol are you joking, the eagles couldnt be more fucked. Foles? lolololol. Holy optimism. You guys will be one of the worst teams in the league next year unless your next HC is blessed by god

you have not watched nearly enough to laugh at Foles. If they are fucked, and they very very well may be, it wont be because of him.

D-Jax has something wrong with him(whether it be attitude, toughness, or no QB).

I'm pretty confident it's attitude.

they are fucked for a long list of reasons, and thanks to the Fox love affair with the NFC east ive watched more then enough Eagles for the year.Keep Mccoy, tear down the rest of the team. It's time to face the facts that you need to be a losing team for a few years, Philadelphia fans

you said that before the year, and I disagreed then and I disagree now. I think their biggest problem is that they have so many players who arent just bad, but terrible. So many huge gaping holes.

You really think they should keep a rb with maybe 4 or 5 years left and get rid of everyone else? everyone? Cox, Graham, Maclin, Foles, Bryce, even solid possession gusy like Cooper and Avant.

I know its my job to be optimistic, but this is certainly not a "blow up the team" rebuild that is needed, its more of a "trim the fat" rebuild. Not saying that theres not plenty of fat (insert Andy joke here), but they have guys who can play football, which you won't acknowledge

sure they have guys that can play football, but its just doesnt work. The chemistry isnt there. We all know that Kobe, Nash and Dwight can play top tier basketball, buts its pretty clear at this point they cant play together. It's obviously not possible to tear down the entire team, but I would probably try to tear down as much as possible in the first year. I think like Teed said you can rebuild pretty quick these days. I have a serious question, why do Philly fans have any optimism about Foles? No one else in the country agrees

they're fucked, like so fucked that they might get sold and shipped to LA.

I don't see what more you can ask for from Foles. I watched every snap he took, he has poise and arm strength and his footwork was always his biggest issue but hes worked his ass off to get better at that.

His throws just look like NFL throws if that makes sense. I dont know who you see rip the guy, but I highly doubt that its anyone whos really watched him. The guy looks the part, has a good arm, and doesnt get rattled. Ppl just remember he was ehh in college and drafted in the 3rd round so they assume he sucks.

Obviously hes not a finished product, but I would bet serious money of him being a decent to good NFL qb
