USC* -7 -115 vs Georgia Tech 345/300
Georgia Tech/USC* Over 61 -110 220/200.....
believe me it hurts to be playing and rooting for SoCal but I dont see GT hanging with them for long. This game is like 'NFL vs. College' with USC’s Kiffin Clan and their “We are bound for the NFL!” players in NFL systems going against Georgia Tech’s very collegiate offense, the triple-option, a unit supported by the leaky defense. USC defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin realized he was in over his head as a college coordinator against ‘what they call these …spread offenses?” and announced that he was leaving the program. However, Papa Kiffin is staying on for the bowl game, to teach his NFL-mindset boys everything he knows about defending triple option from all those years he spent in the NFL. Which means calling around asking somebody else, and probably not Trojans’ defensive line coach Ed Orgeron, another coordinator of only NFL-bound talent for years in the SEC and Pac 10-12. In fact, Orgeron was promoted to Assistant Head Coach after Kiffin announced he was leaving, and the next DC won’t be hired until after the bowl game. On the surface, it looks like nobody wants this result on his resume! But I could be wrong After all, Florida State hadn’t faced Georgia Tech in three years, their defensive coordinator bolted before the ACC Championship. So with all of that sarcasm, u can certainly see I dislike SC.
Florida St D held Georgia Tech to Tech’s second-lowest offensive output of the season. Gt does Not have a defensive line that can control the point of attack – always an important trait to have against an option offense. USC’s run defense has been okay, at 3.9 yards allowed per carry. Not quite as good as Florida State’s, or BYU’s (2.7 yards per carry allowed) the defense that held Georgia Tech to its fewest yards this season. So, while it should be a ballgame for a while, Georgia Tech’s usually lousy pass defense should eventually make their offense’s running game look like water pistols at a cannon fight, as USC’s defensive athletes eventually catch up to what Tech is doing on offense. Except for the coach, this grades out with all stats going to SC.
