2024 Golf Discussion - Playoff Time -- East Lake

Dropped 5u at the WM...top 30/40's were the only green on the card.

Weird kinda/sorta cut at Genesis this week. They're taking the top 50 and anyone within 10 strokes of the lead after Friday. Possibly some value on the 'golfer x, y and z all make the cut' wagers if they bother to put them up.

Genesis at Riviera

1u

Scottie Top 10 -125
...I see no reason to not have exposure to Scheffler at every tourney he plays

1u each

Tourney Matchups

Aberg +105 JT
Burns -127 Finau
Cantlay +106 Hovland
Willy Z +108 Si Woo Kim
Xander +100 Rory

Swing it easy boys.

Beware I just saw that they're calling for heavy rain in Cali again this weekend, as of now Saturday is supposed to be Bay Area but then moving down into LA on Sat night/all day Sunday. It just keeps going and going with these tournaments..

Really want to bet on TW somehow, but I don't like the matchup at my local and there are no make the cut bets available since at least 50/70 are going to play the weekend. Guess I'll just have to be a fan

No over/under finishing position?

1u each

Any 2 of Xander Schauffele, Ludvig Aberg, Patrick Cantlay, Tony Finau & Tommy Fleetwood to Finish in the Top 10 (inc Ties) (-180)

Rd1 Hojgaard -0.5 Hossler

Tiger Rd1 Score Over 71.5 +120

Rd1 Burns +105 Hovland

Rd1 Svensson -105 Hadwin

Rd1 Hoge +100 Kirk

Looking at the first round over/under scores (range of 68.5 to 70.5), looks like it's lining up to be a challenging week for low scores. Still think there will be a few, non-traditional names that go 4-6 under today but the offerings for over/under scores are limited, across 4 different books.

GOAT under 70.5 -105 is very enticing. I'm sold for 4u.

Really think this is achievable, even with all the changes and long layoff. Reports of his practice rounds, visually, are good. Expect some questionable chips and putts throughout the week. Also suspect his physical condition will degrade over the days and there should be a round (maybe tomorrow) where he's a couple over par but fresh for round 1. Leggo Tiger-

Looking to add JIC I'm putting too much trust in the old man.

Rd.1 add- Live Keegan(E) +120 v. Hoge(-1) 2u

Not with my local. He's pretty limited with the golf offerings. Pretty sure this is the first year he's offered top 5/10/20 for tournaments outside the majors

0-2 Rd.1, -6u. Plenty of birds for Tiger but way too many bogies. Had a chance to be under 70.5 for the round with a great drive on 18th. That approach shot was memorable..

Rd.2- Clark under 69.5 -120 (DK 25% free boost to +104), 4u

Sigh. Tiger WDs with “illness.” Hopefully it really is just him barfing and nothing more serious. Time to reset expectations for this season to him just playing a full tournament

I can't ever tell if it's just his back is in so much pain but he definitely didn't look well today.

His putting has been a “problem” for a while now. But until now he’s been down playing it, saying he thinks it’s fine, etc. I’ve seen a few putter slams this week. Time for him to move to a mallet or broomstick

IV treatment.

The video in the cart looked like he had to shit, lol.

I wouldn't actually be surprised at a random flu. There is a lot of Flu A going around right now.

Anyways, if not, his agent at least is doing the legwork here.

We'll see if he's around Sunday to present the trophy.

Anyone else see the full swing ad for season 2?

Showed the episode titles and last two are ryder cup
Yeah, they mentioned last month that Ryder Cup stuff will be in there.

Episodes 7 and 8 are the RC. They have Luke and Zach featured. That should be saucy.

Too bad no Spieth this year, I'd love to hear some content after ZJ made him change clubs on that Par 3 on Saturday that cost the US ultimately.

The rest of Scotties numbers the last few years are Tiger-esque, but the putter has robbed the sport of the most dominant stretch in 15 years.

Wild.

He's absolutely starting to show the frustration too.

1u each

Rd3 Fleetwood +155 Scottie
Rd3 Willy Z +110 Conners

0.5u each

Rd3 Rory score O 67.5 -170
Rd3 Hovland score O 68.5 -115

..pains me to lay chalk, but I think they'll have the pins Buffalo Bill'd for moving day and we won't see any 6 unders carded.

It's weird, because his stroke looks good. It's not like Zalatoris or even Spieth when he stands over a 2 footer for 30 secs, remarks, then doesn't even scare the hole. Putting is so much about confidence and less about mechanics than any other part of golf, I'm not sure how you get over it without seeing a bunch of putts go in first.

If Scottie was a top 20 putter he would be better than prime Tiger.

But that's like saying if Allen Iverson was a 7 footer...

0-3 -10u. Going with Patty Ice for the W.

Rd.4
Cantley under 69.5 -115 5u
Parlay- Cantley +105 / Purdue -3 -310, +171 (DK boost +256) 5u

GL today

Like the Hadwin play @chipnotized

That Day play seems like a no brainer but it opened at -130 yesterday, closing at -105/-110 which prompted me to lose interest. GL on your plays

Thanks @laopadak I see no reason Hadwin can't ball strike his way into a backdoor top 5.

I concur on the line move...I find the golf boosts tricky to navigate--I can't seem to pin down a "source of truth" on the lines. Changes every week, it seems.

Best of luck with neck-beard today.

Stress free 6-0 on matchups. Unreal run so far this year. I didn't update after WMPO, think I went 3-3? Will check back. Not looking forward to Mexico next week. Field is terrible. May take it off, or at least tread lightly.

A lot of surprises from final round of Genesis- Wow and congrats to Deki, didn't see but I suspect he was in the 50/60-1 odds for final round. Not sure what Cantlay & X were doing and thinking but there was absolutely nothing there from those two. Haven't seen a final round grouping like that in some time. List had them all on the ropes up until the back nine. Average score for final round, 70.5 and Deki completely killed it going bogey free, 9 under. Just an amazing round.

Gotta post the bad with the good, a big whopping 0-5 Genesis, -20u. Onto the next.

14-3 to pocket just over 13u at the Genesis.

Looking forward to high variance and mis-priced selections, south of the border, down Mexico way.

Just did a run through on the matchups for the Mexico tournament. Woof. Is this the worst field ever? I think even the opposite event fields are usually better than this garbage. I think I'll sit this week out. Not sure it will be much better for whatever they are calling the Honda now

Brutal.

Rahm and Tony won the last two years vs garbage.

I'm surprised LIV didn't plan a tournament this week with very little competition.
