2015 nba offseason

Use your head Hinkie, trade down. And let's grab Mario Hendzoja, Winslow and or Cameron Payne. Give me any two of them

Stupid if they think Randle will be anywhere close to as dominant as Cousins
I don't think they think that. Sounds like they don't want to give up that much

Rumor is they are leaning towards Russell, and then make a run at Aldridge

they definitely don't think that. sac probably wants okafor, randle and clarkson which I pray the lakers realize is way too much.

i also pray all these free agency rumors are bogus. why would we break the break on aldridge when we're invested in Randle. same goes for Love. Makes no sense to sign a PF.

Lakers need to embrace the youth movement. attempting to become a playoff team over night with no shot at a championship is pointless.

Listen, I'm no @WojYahooNBA, but pretty sure I just stumbled on a Lebron / Kevin Love meeting.

so what's Lebron's stance here?

Seems Lakers are in position to make some noise with Russell being their pick. Either go all out for Aldridge or Love

Hope it's LA and not Love. Love is a great second - third player on a contender - not a star of a contender. You need to be a star on both ends of the floor to do that...

Yeah, LaMarcus is the rpize here...go get ya 22-10 or so...excellent FT shooter and at 30 prolly has 4-5 more prime years if stays somewhat healthy.

Still can't believe Lamarcus is turning 30...time flies.

Whats this word that the Lakers potentially would give up Russell for Cousins?

Throwing it out there:
Danny makes a splash getting Bledsoe and Cousins, sending picks and players via a 3rd team (probably denver and/or portland).....

As much as I would like to see this I just think Dallas and San Antonio are the clear front runners .

Unless the Kings fire Divac and hire a former Celtic as GM, don't think you guys will be getting lucky a second time... : )

Lmao @ a report coming out that deandre doesn't like being a third option. Has he watched any tape of himself?

The Lakers are working to unload contracts, trying to create significantly more salary cap space, league sources tell Yahoo Sports.

Splitter is a Hawk now. Interesting move by both teams. Wonder how Spurs are going to feel about this trade if they don't get Aldridge...

If LA signs with them, I think it's the first star ever to sign with the Spurs.
They drafted or groomed all their great players that I can remember.

They had good players like Horry, Jackson and so on, but they weren't anywhere near LA's calibre...

Spurs at 12-1 is looking real good right about now :bluehead:

Hope we didn't have to give up Patty Mills.

Someone is getting paid:
DeMarre Carroll has agreed to a four-year, $60 million deal with the Raptors.
Great deal for both sides and a big loss for the Hawks

$60 million over 4 years for Demarre Carroll....:rofl::rofl:

Wow what a well-timed postseason run can do for you.

I really think he deserves it. He is not only 3 and D, but also a lot of hustle and just something about his attitude, that gives you the feeling that he is a winner, at least to me.
If Spurs got Green with home team discount for 4 years for 45 mill and if Matthews will get between 12 to 15 mill a season, Carroll should get 15 mill imho.

That was kinda my point, to deal Splitter before meeting, someone must know something

I guess the moment LA's meeting with the Lakers didn't go well, Spurs knew they are in the driving seat for this one:

LaMarcus Aldridge could make a decision on his future very soon, and the Spurs are currently considered the frontrunners to land him.
The Lakers reportedly didn't make a strong impression on him, so it appears that they are likely out of the running. The Spurs just re-signed Danny Green to a cap-friendly four-year, $45 million deal, and they also cleared a lot of cap space by trading Tiago Splitter to the Hawks. Aldridge is currently meeting with the Spurs, and it wouldn't be surprising if an agreement is reached soon.

Carroll only did it for 2 rounds in the playoffs...Matthews and Green have proven themselves for a much longer time frame. Carroll can knock down the 3 but Green and Matthews are top 6 in the league in doing that over the last 5 years.

This is James Posey all over again.

I assume you mean his time in Memphis?
He did win two rings after that, with Heat and Boston...

I could be wrong, but I do feel that players like Crowder and Carroll are a must on a contender.

Excuse me? Carroll is the reason the hawks had such a huge turn around this season. His improvement the past two seasons was ridiculous. Don't think anyone followed the hawks more than I did this past year and Carroll was beloved by everyone in the organization for his work ethic and play making ability. Huge loss for the hawks imo. He is just what the raptors need to boost their offensive production. Barring injuries, the Raptors are set in stone as the division winner now, even though that's not saying much

No, I'm talking about his time after his two rings when New Orleans Hornets overpaid for him signing him to a 4 year $25 million dollar deal...he was a bust, traded to Indiana, then he was amnestied.

He isn't worth $15 million a year, he isn't even in the top half of starting small forwards... Toronto overpaid. He is the 4th option on a team who isn't going to knock down 40% of his 3's this upcoming season...he had 2 great rounds to open the playoffs and a team with a worse starting small forward fell for it. What he gives you is valuable but not worth that price.

Every team is different and has different needs. I really dont care about the money aspect. Toronto found a guy they think can be the key piece for them to win a championship. The raptors issue is they dont have a good locker room guy. If you watch their press conferences from when they were playing like shit this season, you'll see what im talking about. They have the money to pay him so nobody else gets him....and what he brings isnt all shown in the box score. There really is nobody else available that brings what Carroll does. All im saying is you are not giving Carroll enough credit and we don't know what other offers he received. All GMs want a guy like Carroll. That's for sure.

With the salary cap exploding soon, this contract will be peanuts I believe and Carroll brings Toronto toughness and defense and that's exactly what they been missing.
We will see a lot of contracts that will make little sense salary wise this summer I believe, because teams already thinking of the next seasons and the salary cap that will be available then.
15 mill a year with a salary cap of 90-110 mill will be a great contract for the Raptors in two seasons imho.

Heat will be a great team next season, if injuries won't kill them again.
Top 4 in the East and while that doesn't sound like much, it will be a nice upgrade for a team that didn't make the playoffs the year before that and didn't have any big signs in the summer.
Can easily see them in Conference Finals next season even.
