Week 9 DFS/Props Discussion

TEN/LAR

TEN DVOA Matchup is good vs RB D, and bad vs P D.
LAR DVOA Matchup is great vs RB D, and meh vs P D.
Pace of play is 5th fastest. O/U is highest of the week.
Tanneill is T3rd for worst ASR matchup, Stafford is 3rd best.
Henderson has the 4th best ALY push. Peterson? has the 9th worst.

Let us start with what we know --- the rams.

The last 2 weeks, and 2 other times this year really, Van Jefferson has seen an AMPLE amount of snaps relative to kupp/woods. 2 Weeks ago it was 97/97/94, and last week 87/87/84.... the rams trust him enough to do a bunch of 3WR sets. That's fantastic. We know Kupp is an alpha, and he is seeing 11+ targets a game.. if you can fit him in, do it. Woods is where I may step back and take the cheaper jefferson. He's matched or been 1 away from woods targets 5 out of 9 weeks and has the highest aDOT by a mile. Jefferson/Kupp/Woods are 14.12/9.41/8.20. If you entering a lineup, you want a high ceiling, and he has it.

I think higbee can be ignored, he really is just a TD dependent option and if he doesn't get it early, I don't see him getting it late. Pass.

Henderson has been really great, and I feel like most just think of this team as more pass focused. While that is true, henderson is a true workhorse. In competitive games he sees 80-90% of snaps, and it's high value snaps. The rams OLINE seems to ALWAYS have a positive matchup, teams can't sell out/help to stop it (with the receivers/qb combo) and he just chugs along. He could be good for 15-20 carries, and 3-5 targets. 18-25 possible touches in this offense is always great. Now if you think this can be a blowout (maybe) I can see the arguement in playing michel if mass entering, but I won't be going crazy.

Stafford (like most QBs) has the best floor, and probably ceiling, idk if I'd captain him, but a flex option no doubt.

AJ Brown is a great option, he's the most trusted, and best produccer on this team for tannehill, consistently. It's hard to have him in those guys above though, so you may need to make a stand (or maybe captain jefferson ahem). Julio could definitely be a leverage off brown, and I wouldn't hate it. Not sure how I'm going to build it it. Rogers should be the slot man, but it could be westbrook/johnson too, what a crapshoot dart throw.

I don't want peterson, he may be the goaline guy? Idk, I want to see it to believe it first... apparently he's been a savage at practice, idk. The game script leans me like mcnichols a lot more, he should be more trusted/familiar, and ATLEAST the 3rd down back. He's shown once what he can do coming out of the backfield with a double digit target game.

Swaim over firkser in that department. He has seen more snaps all year, and had 5 targets last week.

ugh,, props couldnt save me from the goofy day that was nfl yesterday,, worst part is in years past i woulda did really well betting sides with all those unexpected results!! lol.. got worse on Sunday night cause i liked titans so of course that meant i bet a bunch of titan props over and missed them all despite them winning the game. sure the hell didnt think the defense would dominate the rams for the win..none my qbs could get me a second damn td. luckily kumara scored and vikings tied it up cause had they not Brown would have finished 2 yards short his total, had it before the ot but needed a final drive by ravens. i never rooted so hard for cousins to throw a td! really didnt think he would, lol..

i dont see much of anything tonight, i paid the price for Harris to score a td, i think he will but not the greatest idea to lay juice on these in what looks to be a low scoring game, had to sweat Kumara out thanks to saints offense being awful most the game. i thought bout Herbert over rush yards but ended up leaving it alone..

Think Najee goes ham tonight and Montgomery is back for Chicago (not an ideal matchup)

Oh, I was wondering why I didn’t see Herbert when I looked after I got back home. That explains it. I know matchup not great but I think bears will stick with run game, if they don’t Fields will get killed. Guess there no way to take advantage if I dunno who getting carries, I think Herbert been took good to just stop using him,

How many times did Van Jefferson get a chance at a TD... atleast 3 I believe... ugh. The stafford irrelevant last drive may have burned me in 2 fantasy leagues too... Oh well.

CHI/PIT

CHI DVOA Matchup is meh vs P D, bad vs RB D.
PIT DVOA Matchup is good vs RB D, meh vs P D.
Pace of play is 12th slowest. O/U was last.
Fields is T3rd worst ASR matchup.
Montgomery has 5th worst ALY matchup.

Bears seemed to always just have a brutal offense or matchup (statistically) and the one constant, even in a bad setting, is there backs still churn and produce... so if the news is out that montgomery is all systems go, I probably would take a look at going over his deflated (most likely) yards prop(s).

I want to say it is obvious by now, but mooney is the #1 on this offense as its now been 5 straight weeks of equal or more targets. I will say aROB still has a higher aDOT, and both are healthy-ly? double digits. So I don't hate the idea of being contrarian and using aROB over Mooney in DFS, but of course like mooney long term more.

Kmet is a fine option, he sees almost 5 targets a game, and plays just as many snaps as the other 2. Even though kmet is seeing 90% of snaps, jesse james is around 50%, and they've gotten 6/3 targets a game in each of the last 2 games.... haven't checked but sure he's worth pennies.

Don't think I'd touch anyone else, they're max 40% snap guys typically.

Diontae just has a massive target share, it's hard not to lock him in in ppr formats.
Najee owns the backfield, and may be the highest workhorse back. it's hard not to lock him in, he has a couple 3 target games, but that's his freaking floor. Feel like penciling him in for 25 opportunities can even seem low.

Only other 2 options is claypool, who is boom or busty, but I'm not about it. His best game from a target perspective (and najees too) was when Diontae was out.... otherwise he seems capped at a max of 6 targets, pass at that price. Or friermuth, who had 7 targets in his last 2 games, and his last one featuring no ebron saw his snaps jump up to 78%

P. Freiermuth Receptions O3.5 -130
D. Mooney Receptions O3.5 -120
A. Robinson Rec. Yds O38.5 -120 (gulp)

Feels ballsy playing over anything in this matchup, I’m afraid steelers front 7 gonna absolutely wreck this game. I’d be scared of Montgomery not cause matchup cause bears even ran on tampa, I’m just not sure what the backfield situation gonna look like? Didn’t Herbert earn a piece of the workload? I think he did, he was really good while Montgomery was out. Good luck trying to figure out who gets how many touches going forward. Nothing like yet another potential time share.

I agree and kind of why I stayed away from the prop of his but I wouldn't be shocked if he covered it easily and I'm shaking my head at the end of the game

Over 4.5 sacks. Fields has taken 4 in each of the last 3 games, and Ben is less than mobile.

I like that for sure. That both teams huh? Might cash before halftime! That one thing I really worry bout for Fields long term, kid gets hit more than any qb in the league. Between not seeing where the pressure coming from and his running seems like he gets hit hard a lot!

I know the feeling. I didn’t know embid was out tonight until I got back from casino, would have loved to play Drummond over rebounds and Kortmaz over 3 pointers made. Only halftime and already pissed I didn’t go back up there., 3 point already cashed easy and Drummond has 10 boards and his number was only 13.5, sucks I was too lazy to go back. Lol. Really wish missouri would stop being so dumb and forcing me across the river to make my plays.

Leggoooo Najee and lots of Steez points!

Lol. I find it hard to believe steelers score all that much after bears d getting embarrassed last week. Long as Harris gets one I’ll be happy, early be nice, I don’t wanna have to sweat it out like kumara the other day when saints didn’t even get him any chances till the 4th!

Also have Steez o23.5 and game total o40

Loved this game all week but no hurry to bet it because under looks so, so easy
