SO for me Week 14 was medicore and have the big play(s) on Carolina Pending . Plus the TT Over 21 Carolina as well {Level2} as well at the moment ......

WEEK #15 :

Only regret one play in Week 14 and it was the Cincy Bengals . Now the worst part for me is I made a dumbass out of myself my max playing it . I'll go into detail later on why I made a mistake on that game outside of the obvious result .

Anyway shocked that DET wasnt closer to -20!! However really like DET here and I mean really like here ...

Whatever is OTB is due to tonigts pending game and 3 unknown QB situations :
Seattle , Buffalo and Minnesota.....

Also SF of great interest and of some interest GB , Dallas and Houston Texans......

Have a deeper look later on when the MNF game is on...

:cheers:GL and please discuss your thoughts and opinions...:shake:

Look back at Week 14 on the field and in the Sportsbooks

MNF:

Carolina can be thrown on as evidenced by Antonio Bryant shredding them . Nothing new as Aaron Rodgers had a huge game vs them last week as well . Odd part is they were terrible vs the run and that has now improved . As Carolina's OL has improved Stewart and Williams have become beasts. TB run defense was pretty close to poor on the road when we look at opponents but still they allowed 121 yds per game and 4.2 YPC . 300 yards was certainly unexpected but also TB entire DL minus Hovan was injured in some form . Bryant missed a FG and a blocked XP. Delhomme played well but 2 INTs at bad times killing drives dampened a good game...Think Car on the rise and TB on decline . Also TB OL so-so allowing 5 more sacks here and believe 14 in 3 games now...

SNF :
Same old Skins offense struggling to move the ball . Balt offense did some things but in general SKINS defense played well . Nothing special to take from this game would think it played out exactly as it looked to on paper....

TNF:
Oakland cant stop the run and thats all SD did was run at them. Hell look at Rivers completions = not very many . SD played like I expected as teams struggle to run on them and thats all OAK really has. Russell was okay when he was in there but lackof WRs killing this team as much as his accuracy IMO . Zach Miller all day so line those PROPS up IMO .....

Get to the others at some point...

Nut a few thoughts

.....NO should win at CHI In My Opinion. Bree's will have a field day and I think if you look at his performance on the road it has been against top notch pass defenses of which the Bears are not.

I look toward the Jets getting back on track this week facing the Bills at home.

IMO Balts at home that defense is superior to the PITT's defense and the biggest thing is the Offensive line of Balts is better, esp running. Roethlisberger will have major trouble, recall the first meeting as well as against Philly. Balts is a great ball control offense that will not get themselves in trouble and in the second half I think Balts moved it in Pittsburgh.

Dallas is done guys. IMO Romo, there should be questions as to his capability in leading a team to the super bowl.....I'm just not impressed he is horrible under pressure. The Giants are a clearly superior team to the Cowboys and now are coming off a loss.... the Giants will win this easily. For some reason we all want to think TO, Roy, Witten, all that talent means something but it doesn't. The G-Men will score for sure after last week.

...look for Washington to roll cincinnati this week. The Skins need a win and will have no mercy.

I think Carolina will destroy Denver but have to look at Monday Night letdown factor ala Minney

Indy should destroy the Lions as well as Philly over Cle......any consistent motivated teams are proving to cover against these patsies

...Titans @ Houston I think look for Houston to lose again

Good stuff as always bro.

- I agree Saints or pass not impressed by anything Bears have done. Havent really researched it but would guess the Playoff game their helps them adjust to the weather conditions already having played through it ....

-With that game spread and Edwards availability will be deciding factors for me . I think we see at least -6.5 and thats really alot for NYJ IMO just depends on what exactly ...

- Agree on Balt . Coin flip game and I cant see what Pitt did well vs Dallas . They used home field to its fullest extent against a QB who is prone to forcing passes and making mistakes ...

- Tough on Dallas and NYG. I agree winning is tough vs superior teams and in pressure but the Giants w/o Plax and a banged up Jacobs cant be making mistakes vs good teams . Giants looked great when they made every play when they dont we have the Eagles game. I prefer Dallas here . Until the 4th Quarter dont see Dallas doing much wrong and Phillips/Garrett have to realize they need to force Romo into safe decisions..short passes to RB or WR screens in crucial times...they terrible LH toss to Roy Williams ? Come on that is the perfect example of him losing composure and not being able to think straight under pressure IMO ! I just think NYG might unravel here at the end. One thing is ELi Manning has SUFFERED in games at home in the wind not sure about away . Anyone remember the WASH game believe it was last year on a SUNDAY night when they had those similiar type winds as yesterday . CHeck his stats . Bewteen his errant tosses and the NYG inability to catch passes in those windy games its a terrible match.....Have to be impressed by CHoice and the DALLAS DEF played very well IMO ... Momentum is what killed DAL not Pitts offense or the Dallas defense....

-Skins need a win , Portis pissed about being benched but the other guys did some good things as well . Cincy just self destructive and the defense is thin and tires eventually . Look for an over IMO . Bengals moved the ball fairly decent @ Indy but they get stuck near the opposing 35 or 40 or turn it over ....

-I think Carolina and Denver should be a great game . Selvin Young should be ready but hopefully so will the LBs , Champ and safety McCree......

-Can see Philly but its so marginal IMO . Tenny didnt play all that well and CLE failed on some crucial plays but we still saw Tenny barely cover. The Browns defense played well . Busted 4th and 1 28yd TD , 25 YD TD late late in the game ...all about what the CLE offense can do maybe allow Cribbs to throw more . Think he hit Edwards for a big play but Braylon had only 1 foot in and Dorsey should improve . Philly defense is good but doesnt get the same pressure at the Line that Tenny does IMO ....

-Actually like DET . CIncy moved the ball but had turnovers or stalled . Lions defense much better and DET ATS away has been very good of late . COlts just dont have the defense and I will say Indy probably gets 31-35 but think they need 38 to cover ......Colts didnt really blowout CIncy as much as Cincy self destructed at the worst times ....

- Houston really starting to show consistency...hard to fade Tenny but Texans can throw the ball and to me that is Tennys weakness on defense and Slaton had a big 1st H from what I remember 1st meeting ...Titans were sloppy vs CLE and I think that continues....

Nut with Dallas I think the defense has showed lately but against who? Washington and Pitt? NYG WILL score points here. Just think Dallas has not shown me anything offensively since Romo's return and body of work says Giants are superior.....and I like that they lost to Philly. Philly IMO is a team that has turned the corner and it happend vs. Arizona.....I don't think losing says something about NYG as much as it does about Philly. NYG have won without Plax, rb is more of a concern but I like Bradshaw.

Really Manning puts a 80 yard bomb in the hands of Nixon and he drops it.

The Pitt game I just think Pitt had as many wasted opportunies if not more than Dallas. The Pitt offense is always terrible at home, the Washington offense has been terrible.

Like I said I think Philly has turned the corner and at home MNF they will be ready and it's Cleveland. Philly is playing as well as anyone right now, I just have a hard time seeing CLE keeping this within 14

...Houston have played better vs. Jax and GB, I think Titans come into town and are the superior team to put HOU in their place....Titans have fared well against Indy and some passing teams I think the most important thing is Tenny will run on Houston and Titans have had some bye weeks practically so will feel challenged by Hou streak and will get a decent line

Carolina I am thinking defense and running game against Denver is a lot more reliable. Maybe a slight lean.

Detroit, and really with St. Louis, Cincy, some of these teams, what we have seen is that once they cover a number and keep a game close they get their doors blown off the following week, sans St. Louis early in year. Indianaopolis is as consistent a team in the NFL and that is why I would consider it. Minnesota had a terrible spot situationally really. ....Maybe not a play but I am having a hard time backing these piss poor teams lately as big dogs.

I'd say NO, Giants, Balts, WASH, Philly is what I will likely be on for sure and depending on lines a few others

Some of these other games I'm not sure

Vikes @ Cardinals will certainly be intersting. I know this, Cards cannot run the ball, and Minnesota is a great run team and defense of the run. I like Winfield and the secondary players of Vikes, like last week's performance, but Cards so solid at home

TB @ ATL certainly talk about teams that are different home/away ATL every game is lined -3 and they win every time. the first game in TB the Falcons could move it but could not stop TB run game. That is the weakness of Falcons is defense. I would say he TB run game has not looked as sharp lately and with Garcia I see them having complete trouble on offense......ATL blew Carolina's doors off in ATL which is similar team.......I think you have to lean ATL here they are superman at home like Brees is at home.

SF @ Miami obviously SF is playing much better here but I have no feel for this game.....points will certainly be important

I liked what I saw from SD Sunday night I truly believe Ron Rivera is improving the SD defense and that the SD defense is underrated right now due to early season performance......the talent is still their save merriman the same guys that dominated LY. @ Arrowhead I usually do not like touching. I think we had an OT game between these two earlier.........I would lean SD I think they win the division

GB/Jax and Seattle/St. Louis not sure I want to be involved in any way of any kind with any of these yay-hoos.

I'd say NO, Giants, Balts, WASH, Philly is what I will likely be on for sure and depending on lines a few others

Dallas defense IMO has played well for most of the season . Dont see recent opponents as the reason why they look good lately . They had a ton of injuries especially at CB and safety . Plus an offense that has put them in some comprising positions . I go back to how they shut the Arizona offense completely down .

I think and many have said this saying that Pitt's offense at home is not very good is sort of foolish . How is a team's offense better on the road? It's not . The clear issue is Strength of Schedule . They have had a ton of tough home games Balt , Indy , Giants , SD and Dallas. Probably played 3 tough roads game NE . Philly and Wash . Otherwise Cle , Jax , Cincy , etc...

Anyway explained this before the DAL game in my last post just look at Big Ben stats vs good defenses and the medicore or poor ones . Gigantic difference . Pitts offense scores usually 17 or less vs the good defenses . To me Pitt didnt waste opportunities as they were just shut down like every good defense has done . They get stopped inside the 5 yd line but its the same as kicking the FG. They keep Dallas backed up and get the punt setting up the short field and later getting 3 pts. So all they did was waste a few minutes as the result was the same.

The one thing that could derail NY was injuries . The role players stepped up PREVIOUSLY but that is no indication they will continue to do so or will in the future. Hixon got hit in the chest and dropped the ball . You simply cant drop that pass EVER IMO . Guys like Hixon are role players for reasons IMO and until he shows consistency over an NFL season or two then him being considering a quality WR is shaky IMO. Guy has blazing speed in the return game but he was still CUT last year . They lost the one WR who also had size as well . Same deal with Jacobs the guy is a beast obviously. You cant replace his size and power . The Giants RB have all looked good at times in relief type roles or spot duty but when you the emphasis its a whole new game. I really think the Giants are in trouble down the stretch as the schedule gets tougher and vs balanced teams. Not saying they play terrible but B type games arent going to beat Philly , Dallas and Carolina IMO ...

With Houston and Tenny still say the Titans RUN offense is so overrated . The stats tell the truth IMO . If Cle had any offense they might have beat Tenny .

Denver getting +7.5 is a suprise and I lean that way ...

Lions to me are different the other bottomfeeders but generally I agree. DD Favs are like 5-0 last few depending on where u count DET at home vs Minny opened 9.5 closed 10 or 10.5....

Not overly concerned about the ATL run defense . TB run offense took a huge step backward with Graham getting hurt . When ATL faced NO they allowed 3 huge draw plays for 80ish yards which was the bulk of the run yardage . ATL admitted it was focused on the pass game and these draws happened vs the nickel package . So a correctable issue . The run defense has been inconsistent but did hold LT to 14c 24 yds the previous week ..

Probably interested in Zona but uncertain .

SF didnt realize Gore got hurt and no way I take SF without him .

Like SD as well . KC played them tough as 14 pt dogs . Boils down to this IMO KC has 2 SU wins Oak and Denver . KC has an ATS win and SU LOSS dont expect to see that again. SO they either win SU or fail to cover the points IMO....Agree with Rivera comment....

Hard to argue against Philly except the offense isnt playing well enough for me to feel comfortable . :shake:

Sport I'm almost positive Daunte is done for the year.

Thanks , I didnt realize he was hurt until late last night nor did I realize it was that serious . Obviously have to rethink wanting to take DET but Dan O wouldnt be an issue if he was available ...

:shake:

Haven't looked too close, but I agree w/ a lot of what Nut and O-state are saying.

With my Ny Giants, I think the injuries are slowly piling up. Jacobs obviously a ? mark, and Ross (CB) walked off w/ a knee injury, not sure the severity of it. They do have the depth, but I think they are a bit weakened right now. On the other hand, the loss was good, as Jacobs said, to refocus them. They still are motivated to get that bye.

I hate to take too much stock in the most recent performance by any team ( I was guilty of that a lot early in the year), but Tampa on the road again vs a Falcon team to bounceback (not that Tampa isn't) looks like a good fade. Joe P said in another thread, they stay on the field too long cuz their O is pitiful. Not sure the line, but loving the Falcons (uh-oh)

Skins might beat up on a weak opponent, but Idk how anyone can back them as a TD road chalk. They are really weak on O and the Cincy D is not that bad. Not that I will back Cincy again this season, but Wash is not a team to lay big road chalk, imo. Not worth my money.

I like the Jets too, but not at a TD, would tease it w/ something or ML parlay. However, Losman just looked horrendous - have to look closer at the NYJ.

I know Tenny on the road is automatic 3 point chalk, it seems everytime, but still an odd line - stay away for me.

Orleans should be able to abuse Chi's secondary - Over there possibly

That's all I got so far.

I'm sure you guys know but, just checked, Atl is a FG fav - I might go crazy on that. Someone calm me down here...why should I not make that a huge play?

Sunday 1 PM

1 PM Thoughts :

Buffalo @ NYJ :
Interested in Buffalo at the moment . NY has been favored by more then a FG in 5 games going 2-3 SU and ATS . Winning at home vs Cincy and STL two terrible teams and only the STL game was a lopsided win. The losses were @ SF , Denver and @ Oakland . So in fairness two were away. See -4.5 as closer to fair here if BUF is healthy .

Why Buffalo ? Divisional opponent and series history partly . Hopeful that Schoebel returns to give them a pass rush and Trent Edwards plays as well . Jets are off consecutive DD losses . Bills are 6-4 SU L10 had won 3 straight before the loss in the series . Dog is 8-2 ATS in the series with both chalk wins BUF as -3 favs. Actually see BUF being 0-4 in the division as incentive , plus the fact Jauron was not given a vote confidence maybe puts everyone on notice.Farve had 131 yds on 31 attempts @ SF..

TB @ ATL:
Expected -4 hoped for -3 looks like I get my wish at -3 + money . Really not going deep into this game as what I said before Car holds true for TB here as well. Only difference is they finally had a loss that reflected their medicore play on the scoreboard . They were 10 pts away from being undefeated before yesterday .

Atl's run defense has been up and down or week to week. Have to research that further. They held LT in check think 14c 24 yds but struggle vs NO. Specifically on three draw plays when the were in nickel coverage . Bush went for 30 + yds and Thomas twice got 18 yards . So that was a huge chunk of what NO amassed on the ground . They have had issues at times though but running draws for TB shouldnt be nearly as effective as NO pass attack was the main emphasis for ATL.

1st meeting ATL staked TB a 17-0 led partially thanks to 2 turnovers which accounted for 10 pts basically. The Falcons got a turnover before half and put up a FG . Then had 2 long 13 play 70 something yd drives which stalled inside the Bucs 10 yd line . So rather then be tied it was 17-9 and near the 3 minute mark Earnest Graham broke a hueg run to ice the game. Griese was the TB QB so remember that and it was Ryan's 1st career road game and only game #2 of 2008 .

SD @ KC:
Odd trend KC and SD have split ATS in 05 , 06 , 07 and KC won ATS in the 1st meeting of 08 . KC has just 2 SU wins and the line is less then a TD but Chargers are just 1-5 away but they have played in London , Miami , Buffalo , Pitt only Denver and Oakland were short trips not on the EAST or EAST...

KC cannot stop the run lately yielding nearly 165 yds past 3 games(5.4 YPC allowed at home) . SD emphasized the run vs a weak OAK run defense and did very well. As OState mentioned Rivera has seemingly improved the defense since his designation. Still KC has improved on offense scoring at least 17 in every game since Tenny and think only Pitt scored less then 17 on the road . KC's defense is jsut that soft and dont be fooled by the DEN game look at the huge difference in tyards gained which a missed FG and INT hid.

So with SD on a huge UNDER streak and a good opponent to roll some points on lean OVER here and SD TT Over again.

Tenn @ Houston :
Looking at the past 10 Texans games they are 6-4 but only 1 poorly played game and that was home vs Balt. Who they were small favs against . Dont see much difference bewteen Balt and Tenny these days so catching aFG or so is definite value IMO . Look at previous Tenny road games -1 @ Jax , -3 @ CHi w/o Orton so its clear that -3 is NOT cheap.

Granted the Texans have been poor vs the run and Tenny can run the ball well . Collins has had a few mistakes last few weeks IMO. The Houston offense played very well @ Tenny but seemingly struggled inside the 10 yd line and didnt put up enough points . Expect more Tenny mistakes vs an under the radar Houston team .

Possible sandwich game as they have owned Houston recently and Pitt awaits next week with Indy after that ....

Like Texans 1st H as well ....

Others:(will finish thoughts later )
Interested in Over 36 Bengals and Skins TT Over 21.5 ish (small lean Skins)
Lions +17 depending on QB situation
SF +6.5
Ravens -2
GB and Jax who knows ..

Primetime Games

Thursday , Sunday and Monday Night Thoughts

Saints @ Bears :

Interested in the Saints.

About the ONLY 2 reasons peopel have for taking Chicago are the cold weather and Saints being 1-5 away . So what does that have to do with this game specifically ? Are the Bears NOT worse then almost all of NO road opponents and are they not healthier then they have been for most of the season ?? Did the cold weather cause the prior losses @ Chicago(28ish degress in 06) ? How bout the 06 win @ NYG ? Okay it was 50 on XMas Eve. What about the high 30s @ Pitt in Nov 06 ? They lost 38-31 and Brees was 31-47 with 398yds . Brees played @ Purdue , Lance Moore @ Toledo , Shockey in NY for his entire career , Colston @ Hofstra , Pierre Thomas is a local boy and played @ Ill .

Any thought to the fact da Bears have now ended the season in consecutive years for NO ? They won the NFC Championship sending NO packing and then last year with a win possibly putting an 8-8 NO teams in the playoffs , yep, again the Bears sent them home. The AFC Championship game was back and forth for awhile till mid 3rd quarter when a safety made it 18-14 and Chi then scored 3 TDs in the 4th Quarter. Last year they losy by 8 and allowed another safety and a punt return.

Sean Payton will NOT allow the punter to kick it to Hester this time . he wasnt supposed to last year and doing so would probably lead to the axe ..

Two unnecessary roughness penalties on the Saints aided two Bears' scoring drives in the first half.

Dont think these two teams havent developed a rivalry !!!

1-5 away ? Look at the division now 24-2 at home ...ATL, CAR and TB thats 3 of the 5 losses. They won @ KC , lost by 2 @ Denver and 5 @ Washington plus beat SD in London ....so really they are 2-2 outside of the division on the road IMO....

Offense 30 @ KC , 34 vs SD @ London (sorry this is a road game to me) , 32 @ Denver and 24 @ Washington..thats the 4 non divsional road games ...

NO 3-1 ATS catching 3 or more points only loss @ Carolina...ATS win @ TB , ATS win @ Denver and SU win vs SD in London

2 starters on a thin offense Marty Booker and Desmond Clark are questionable.

Bears played @ ATL , @ Car vs TB and lost all 3 in close fashion . really dont see how this game is anything but a PK not -3.....

Orton has been medicore at best since originally getting hurt.

Wolfe a valuable ST is out for the year as well as backup RB.....

As 3rd and Long said looks like 3rd time is a charm. This team NO is the better team and it is not reflected in the pointspread like it was in the 2 previous meetings.

Saints 24-20.....

More thoughts :

Orton followed Brees to Purdue because of what Brees did for the program . So in a sense understudy vs teacher here . Edge IMO to Saints...

Bears offense :
23 pts vs Jags and less then 300 yards but also 10 pts in the 1st H off turnovers

14 pts @ Minny 228 yds but 65 on1 pass.

27pts @ STL 337yds but 49.51,63yd TD drives not impresive

3pts @ GB 234 yds

14pts vs Tenny give them a pass for Grossman

27pts vs Det 320 yds Orton injured ,again 49-54-58yd TD drives

48pts vs Minny 327 yds 2 blocked punts so obviously field position !

Saints weakness its corners and Orton is not accurate throwing it deep either.....

Strong Lean TT Under Bears especially if we see 24 ...

I'm sure you guys know but, just checked, Atl is a FG fav - I might go crazy on that. Someone calm me down here...why should I not make that a huge play?

I think the good part about being at Week 15 is that most people will not rush to change their perceptions of teams like TB who lay an egg. They will look to dismiss rather then see it as an accurate depiction (sp?) of the Bucs.

I dont know if I agree so much with the TB offense being the problem yesterday though . They had the ball equal amounts of time (both at 30 actually TB tad more) but certainly can buy into them wearing down and being banged up ....

I think with NYG this is where all the chaos starts to hurt the team. They overcome the defensive losses early on bewteen retirment and injury. Then they were on a good roll just having everything go their way . Players step in on offense and continued to excel .

Still this is the tough portion of the schedule . I dont recall what the stats exactly but NY had to be about 18-2 L20 SU now. I do know NYG is now 16-1 SU L17 away ...

I think we forget that it was Plax who was so key in the playoffs last year . he wasnt needed as much at times this year but when you need a play he is still clearly the go to guy IMO . His loss is huge despite not looking like it at this point .

Dal still banged up in the secondary though so that should be interesting but their pass rush is becoming insane. Barber called out by Jerry Jones do we want to see him play angry?? :shake:

I'm also very tempted, and am already looking at that over in Atlanta. Kind of wanted the flat 44, though.

I lean Houston early. Already played the Falcons. Bless that line. Now watch 'em lose outright.

I know , I know , I get paranoid myself ..

Still NFC South now 24-2 at Home : TB lost @ NO and @ Car ...ATL beat them both soundly if it happens what can we do ...

Denver wins by 4 (I think) @ ATL
Minny wins by 3 ( I think ) @ NO on MNF..

Oddly enough, I had Denver in that game. I don't think I had the ML, though. That was a great spot for Denver, bad spot for Atlanta.

This is a good spot for Atlanta and a bad spot for TB.

That was basically my fear last night. That they would jack up the spread like they did vs Denver and overvalue ATL..

Glad it didnt happen ..:shake:

Speaking of Denver, this is another really good spot for them. Too bad they suck so much.

7.5 is a great number here, though, tough one to cover coming off a huge emotional division win.

The Titans-Texans line scares the hell out of me. I think it's accurate too because the Texans always play the Titans tough in Houston but the Titans always win in the end, but never easily. Given the parameters of this season it doesn't look like a great line for the Greek Gods of Football.

Lean Cowboys- Game means more to them and we saw what the Giants are w/o Burress. It's a much easier team to defend in red zone spots. Dallas D wasn't why they lost in Pittsburgh. Like the Boys and probably the Under.

Lean 49ers to cover and Miami to win SU.

Packers for sure.

I sure don't understand the love for the Cowboys and especially do not understand how they are favorites in this football game.

The point of the matter is the past 10 football games teh Cowboys have not shown well for what they should be showing. not at all.

----5-5 Last 10 games

Wins over Seattle, SF, Washington, Cincinnati, and Tampa Bay

-----you can cite Romo was injured all day long but before St. Louis when he was in their they started playing bad, and after he has come back the offense has not done anything either

---NYG are going to score. Pittsburgh is not in New York's class offensively and that is the point, the Giants have the better offense and the better defense

The resume says New York Giants here all day.

Your not taking injuries into account though . I understand we cant just wipe the slate entirely clean but just because NY won some games shorthanded doesnt mean anything for the future .

Romo wasnt the only guy injured Newman , Pac Man , Roy Williams and the OL was banged up . Barber just missed a game...

What has NYG shown ? They won close games that DAL hasnt and to me that doesnt mean much H2H. Only impressive NYG win is Balt and that team was playing 3rd straight away and 4th roadie in 5 weeks . Game was a mirage and I had NY cause it was obvious how terrible situational it was for Balt . Giants won close games @ Philly and @ Pitt a credit to them but winning by a score and losing by score in the big picture comes down to usually who executes better on 1 drive....

I think the game is priced right and is a coin flip but think NYG is about to stumble .

It's really not worth arguing about we just have different takes on the teams . Dallas is the superstar playing below its talent level I dont disagree but with whats at stake dont see Dallas laying an egg, They just need to keep Romo in control . Giants are playing over their head and eventually it has to end ...

vs the run NYG allows 4.3 and Dallas 3.2...who has the better offense TO . Witten Roy Williams vs Steve Smith, Amani Toomer , Kevin Boss and Domenik Hixon? :shake:

I'm loving the Texans in that one, waiting to see the line movement (or lack of)

Big look ahead spot for them on the road with Pitt & Indy on deck, and Houston has been playing very well of late.

I'm interested to see if NE quits on the season or not.

Did not realize that the Bucs O was out there equal time, seemed to be opposite. Although, 2H I think it helped when the Panthers would run for 25 yards per clip and get down the field so quickly/easily, Tampa D didn't need to be on the field too long b/c Car just marched right on down.

Liking the Ravens too. INteresting that Public darling #2 (pitt) came back to beat Public Darling #1 (dallas) and now vs Ravens do not have to lay any points with them.

And I agree on the NYG and the loss of PLax - all I hear from the talking heads is how they have depth, they have been winning w/out him, etc...his absence will hurt them

The defense is just mangled .

They lost Harrison who was like the steadiest guy in the secondary. Think Meriweather has played well but you lose his depth . They lose Thomas at LB and think it went unnoticed his replacement just went IR Pierre Woods who at one point was also a solid ST if I am not mistaken. So with the injuris at LB think Colvin and Seau had to be signed but what kind of shape are these guys in now ? Football shape ?? Then Ty Warren has been hurt for most of the past few games . Hobbs has been playing banged up at CB . Wilfork is now questionable. James Sanders DB now questionable. Tedy Bruschi is out a few weeks now . The truth is the front was the strength of the defense and the past month injuries have decimated it .

NE is just plugging in bodies at this point and doesnt make a good fav IMO at the moment. The offense can score but the defense is just fucked at this point:shake:

Safety -
Harrison OUT / Meriweather In
Sanders Questionable then who ?

CBs-
O'Neal benched for Wilhite
Hobbs playing hurt

LBs-
Vrabel and Mayo

Thomas OUT , Woods now OUT
Bruschi now OUT

DE/DTs-
Warren Out
Wilfork & Seymout healthy

I agree bro. Thats the had part I was just trying to pinpoint . The TB defense wasnt out there long because CAR steamrolled them . So how can we call it fatigue because it wasnt 1 specific drive it was every touch from 3-3 where CAR moved it with ease. I am not trying ti imply I have the correct answer just trying to say hard to acknowledge fatigue when there wasnt that backbreaking drive to point to. Car just moved it with it ease with the main difference being teh 1st H both teams hhad long drawn out drives and the 2nd H was in a blink scoring:shake:

those superstar receivers in Dallas make Washingtons look like underachievers as well (except for maybe Moss) and Romo probably looks like a god when compared to Jason Campbell, but that didn't stop both of their games this year against each other from being very close and even splitting the victories...

I think your question above should have been who has the better PASSING offense since you didn't mention any running backs and they DO help make up an offense...

The Giants have the best rushing attack in the league at an average of 154 yards on the ground per contest and Dallas has the 19th ranked rushing attack... you'd have to take that into consideration when you try to calculate who has the better offense... The rushing game is what makes those supposedly less 'star type' receivers that the Giants have be successful... The Giants offensively line is arguably the best in the league at run blocking...

I believe Jacobs is questionable and he said to the media his injury is 'nothing serious', but even if he doesn't play, I agree his loss will hurt but I don't see why Ward and Bradshaw can't be just as capable of being productive behind that offensive line... Jacobs is averaging 5.1 yds per carry, Ward is averaging 4.8 yards per carry, and Bradshaw is averaging 5.9 yards per carry...

with all that said, I also agree this game could be argued over and over and you won't come to any conclusions that could make the decision on who to take a convincingly decisive one... it could literally go either way... a toss up like you said.

SportsNut, agree with everything you said about the Pats D, I'm just interested to see how it affects the rest of the team. They haven't been in this position before, their season is over. I think this will carry over to the offense (not like Moss hasn't quit before, I think I saw the start of it last week) and I'm looking to fade them the rest of the season.

Too bad the Pats D isn't going up against a real Offense - Raiders only mustered 13 vs KC @home, and then before that the previous two home games they got shutout and the other 2 fgs's

Maybe I am just naive or something but find it hard to believe a BB coached team would not show up and quit in a playoff race. @ Oak , Zona 1st team to 50 wins ? and @ Buffalo are 3 reasonable opponents for them . Not trying to be a smart ass just saying its honestly doesnt register they might quit . Not that I disagree with Moss either but they just have a fairly favorable schedule. Jets and Miami play last game of the year so right there one of these teams already has 6 losses. Think Balt and Indy have 2 tough games each as well....

You're right, technically they are still in the hunt. Just putting it out there, I'm really curious to see how they respond.

The Dal-Wash games were close not because what WASH didnt but more because what DAL specifically Romo didnt do. Which was protect the ball. We all know and agree Romo's primary flaw is ball protection (bad picks and silly fumbles when he tries to ad lib plays kills them). The WASH win was due to Terrence Newman playing hurt and not being able to cover Santana Moss next time around Newman was healthy and Santana was quiet. Most Wash games are close because they probably have a top 10 defense .

I think NYG has utilized the running game better but wouldnt say Jacobs is better then Barber with Choice's showing last week dont see Ward and Bradshaw as better backups either . When looking at NY and DAL really not interested in what has happened . NY has alot of bad teams on its schedule SF, Sea , Cincy at home to name a few . Granted Dallas played them as well but stats in those games dont mean much do they ? I look at the Giants running @ Wash , @ pitt , even vs Balt recently and they were not anywhere near those gaudy season avgs . Take away the 2 long runs vs Balt and they were below avg running the ball. They happened to break a long one vs a tired team not impressed...

If they run on Dallas at will then I will be impressed. I wont get to crazy about 3.2 YPC at home for DAL because they have an easy home slate as well. They way to beat DAL is always thru the air and that DAL front is getting crazy pressure on QBs lately can it translate vs a good Giants line ? Not sure but if it does a pressured Eli with no key target is not something I want to rely on.

Giants have played great football and weathered every storm to date . At some point it just becomes to much to me and that point occurred vs Philly . If I had to guess I would figure at worst DAL runs the ball as effectively as NYG does . With that we go to the passing offenses and again DAL has the threats that NY lacks . I certainly dont want to go to WAR with Amani Toomer , Steve Smith , Kevin Boss , Domenik Hixon when I see what Dal has . So alot does boil down to Eli vs Romo .

Plus anyone want to mention 1/13/08 ?? On top of a must win for DALLAS here ?:shake::cheers:

Joseph Addai (shoulder) missed Colts practice in its entirety Wednesday.
Coach Tony Dungy says Addai "may not be able to play" in Week 15 against the Lions, which is either an indication that the shoulder injury is serious or that the Colts intend to play it safe. "There’s a chance (newly signed) Najeh (Davenport) could be playing right away," Dungy added. "We’ll get him up to speed as quickly as we can." Dominic Rhodes will be a borderline RB1 play if Addai is inactive on Sunday. Dec. 10 - 5:34 pm et

NFL.com's Adam Schefter reports that Adam "Pacman" Jones' neck injury could end his career.
Not only is Jones' season over, Schefter says, his body went numb for two full minutes when he suffered the injury in Week 14. He's continuing to see specialists, but all signs point to Jones not playing again for a long time. Dec. 10 - 4:18 pm et

For now, the team is calling Culpepper's injury a "shoulder strain," which doesn't shed much light on the extent. Marinelli indicated that Dan Orlovsky is next in line to start, with Drew Stanton second and Drew Henson third. The Colts shouldn't have too hard a time covering the 17-point spread on Sunday. Trent Edwards (groin) missed Bills practice Wednesday.
ESPN's John Clayton reported last week that this injury could cost Edwards more than just one game, and he's on his way towards another absence. J.P. Losman took all the first-team practice reps Wednesday and is track to start against the Jets in Week 15. Losman has played poorly. He hasn't been the spark to Lee Evans' long-ball game some hoped he would be. Dec. 10 - 2:24 pm et

49ers coach Mike Singletary announced Wednesday that Frank Gore (ankle) will be a "game-day decision" in Week 15 at Miami.
Singletary called Gore's injury an "inside sprain" of his left ankle, which sounds better than the dreaded high ankle sprain. Gore sat out practice Wednesday and DeShaun Foster will get most of the reps leading up to Sunday. Promoting Thomas Clayton from their practice squad later this week would be an indication that the 49ers are not counting on Gore. Dec. 10 - 2:21 pm et

Antonio Bryant called out ESPN's Emmitt Smith and Trent Dilfer for depicting him as a player with "off-field baggage" during Monday night's loss to Carolina.
"I'm a real person and that bull---- Emmitt said on the TV about 'get my life right'...Trent Dilfer mentioned something about getting my life right outside of football. Last time I checked, man, don't be a hypocrite," Bryant said. "A lot of y'all can't really walk on the same side of the street I can walk on and still go put on a suit. So remember that, before you disrespect me like that on TV." Dec. 10 - 1:31 pm et

NFL_Galloway_small.jpg

Coach Jon Gruden says Joey Galloway doesn't have a role in the Bucs' offense because he plays the same position as Antonio Bryant and can't be effective off the bench.
"Joey is not the kind of guy...that's comfortable coming off the bench and playing 18 to 20 plays a game," Gruden said. Being a third receiver...is not for everybody. It's hard." Gruden also said the Bucs have "moved on a little bit" from Galloway. Assuming Tampa Bay can get Bryant signed to an extension, there's a good chance Galloway will be a cap casualty in February. Any sympathy for Pacman? Anyone?

I don't want to see anybody end up being crippled, but him out of the NFL with a neck injury sounds like perfect karma for paralyzing someone.

Good job universe.

Some solid discussion on this game .....

Cold weather ? Stop already its a valid point but ignoring that Brees has played 3 games in cold weather past few years @ Chi twice and @ Pitt 2 seasons ago. The stats are good in them except last years game @ Chi. Plus he went to Purdue and every key WR / TE is used to this Moore @ Toledo , Colston @ Hofstra , Shockey as @ NYG ...big concern is the kicker for me.

Run game ? Put down the overall stats and look at the big picture . Bears lost their run stuffer @ Minnesota . Saints haved issues at RB till now . Deuce never was the old Deuce , Bush was hurt for a chunk of games , Stecker was hurt , and Pierre Thomas got a chance lately running with it , literally . Oh and he , managed 22c 105 yds @ Chi last year with 12R for 121 yds . He is a local product as well. Now Tommie Harris is hurting as well ....

Last 2 games Jax 25c 108 yds . Minny 38c 177 yds

This is a huge rivalry after the past few season IMO with CHI ending the SAINTS season in consecutive seasons . It's now NO turn IMO especially since they have DET on deck. Bears offense is struggling and has been for awhile . Scrapping together 300 yds a game is nothing impressive...Look at the above stats for the big picture on Brees playing outdoors , in cold weather , in wind , whatever .......

Public betting ? Seems like 50/50 to me so that arguement should not be included and dont quote me SI stats or %s. I see them and they are skewed ...only 2 books reporting ML plays one is 52/48% NO and the other is sportsbook at 80/20 NO but has 60/40 on the Bears laying -3......its split action basically

Not sure what I play or how I play it but definetly on the Saints here just seeing what I can squeeze out ...Under Bears TT is a play as I lean Under for the game..

Plays:

Saints +3.5 -130 and -135{Level3}

ML +140 {Level2}

Dont see how I am getting better then that and if I do get alot better at some point probably will add...

TT Under Bears 24 +100 but waiting :shake:

If you like ATL and havent locked it in yet ......might want to

Jeff Garcia (calf) was limited in Bucs practice again Thursday and is expected to be a game-time decision at Atlanta in Week 15.

"It’s a concern," coach Jon Gruden admitted. "It’s a calf injury. Hopefully he can get well in the next day or two. We need him." Luke McCown has gotten most of the first-team practice reps this week and it appears Garcia will be listed as questionable on Friday. Still, this is a big game for Tampa after its Week 14 loss. Expect Garcia to start against the Falcons. Dec. 11 - 3:50 pm et

fuck! ATL taken off the board at both my books....

I got lucky seeing that . Played some early in the week at -2.5 -125 and some more at -2.5 -130 before it went OTB. VIG sucks but rather have the -128 for -2.5 then -110 for -3.....

Luke McCown ? yikes !
