19-8 SU off a loss (11-7 SU off their last 18 losses)

They play Thursday off a win on Wednesday.

Baltimore has registered at least 1 Over result in their last 42 series (incl. their present series vs TOR).

Ever since Jason Bay got his 1st "settling-in" game for Boston out of the way, the Red Sox have scored -

initial random thoughts

not really that high on kershaw, but i expect the dodgers to bounce back, they have done an amazing job w/o kent and garciappara (imagine if they have them now)

i think and have a feeling lohse may sneak one in tomorrow

superb pitchers with tons of value: perkins of minny @+140, our pick for cy young linceum @ -105, J. Vasquez @ +105

LAD and PIT slug it out tonight to the tune of 23 runs, and have to turn around and play less than 14 hours after they finished tonight. I look for a quick, weak hitting game tomorrow. Under 8. Kershaw should control PIT's bats and I'll hope LAD doesn't ding Maholm for too many.

Check out the lineup in Anaheim-- if no Hunter, Guererro and Figgins, they are basically conceeding the loss to Oakland-

I watched the game yesterday and they did not have back to back hits, and could not generate any offense. They look disinterested and more concerned about not getting any one injured-

Aybar also was pulled during the game, and that leaves with them their TRIPLE A lineup sans ANderson and Texerio-

Under may be worth a look, Oak as usual does not score much, but when they went up 1-0 last night, it was like a good 7 run lead, as Anaheim had no interest in playing

As good as Anaheim is, I think their UNDERS are worth a look in a playoff game-- their pitchers can limit teams, however I think thier offense is not good enough to beat other good teams-

They have too many guys capable of going cold at the same time-

Anaheim no hits since the 4th inning, and Anaheim losing 1-0- top 9th inning, anderson gets a hit- and Texerio homers putting anaheim up 2-1 in the game- sorry for putting this in the ingame section- got excited--

MILW is 1-9 in Bush L10 starts vs Chicago.

Cincy , FLA , Phillies ..?? Over 8 Florida..??

Arizona 1st 5 ML and game ....No way I do anything but fade Lincecum off 127 and 138 pitches......they are abusing him down the stretch

Pitt 1st 5 inn ?

KC

OAK

Yanks (Javy struggles badly vs patient Yanks )and Over 9

I like the cubs tomorrow off today's loss too.... harden has been filthy in general and just as so in his day splits (2-0 2.60 ERA).

prolly throw them in a ML Parlay and maybe play the RL and -2.5 (small) as well.... although not a great value play still like them.

dave bush has given up 6 6 4 4 and 6 runs in his last 5 start against the cubbies.

they have seem a lot of bush over the years and hit him very well. bush 4-3 (4.08 Era) in day splits... and 3-6 (5.25 era) on road

most important thing here is harden is pitching on 7 days rest, and only 86 pitches last time out. arm should be nice and rested and like him to go deep in this one.

cubbies own bush. its going to get ugly tomorrow. the way he gives up the long ball i hope that the wind is blowin out at wrigley tomorrow...

12, 5, 3, 8, 8, 3, 6, 5, 5, 19, 8, 10, 1, 4, 6, 7, 6, 8, 0, 6, 7, 11, 2, 8, 8, 2, 7, 14, 5, 8, 8, 7, 3, 4, 2, 7, 1, 7, 4, 13, 1 & 3 run totals.

_7 totals of 0-2 runs
_7 totals of 3-4 runs
28 totals of 5+ runs (66.7%)

Boston is 10-3 SU off a loss since Bay joined the team (5-0 SU when facing a duiffrent team to the one who inflicted the previous loss).

Hey BC, should we even count the last 2 games of Bosox offense since Bay hasn't even played? They play alot better with him in the lineup. As for Kotsay, that guy hasn't done shit. That was a bad pickup IMO and to have him batting 5th is stupid.

IMO keep away from the Cubs.

The reason being that the Cubs from my pov would want Milk winning the WC before Philly or the Mutts (because the Cubs own Milk who they don't fear 1 bit, where they they have a losing season record vs Philly, and the Mutts offense doesn't live on the long & has dangerous pitchers for a short divisional series), and can afford to drop tomorrow's game no problem from a standings pov (they pretty much have HFA wrapped up for the NL playoffs with 3 home games against the shitting-the-bed-Crudinals about to be played).

Given the Cubs play the Mutts 4 times & Milk 3 more times after tomorrow, they will be the WC deciders. Who they want in, will get in.

any thoughts on the white sox against the yanks?

is moose still chasing win number 20? he is in a little bit of a slump though

the white sox on the other hand, are toe to toe with the twins

any thoughts on their game? the vazquez-mussina matchup?

playing devils advocate, the rest might not help Harden sharpness.......Im playing the Brewers...G/L!

Hallucination? what are people seeing that makes them like Perkins or the Twins?

I have to say I was a devoted Twins' backer throughout the season as they landed me a ton of profit being overpriced in a lot of spots but in this particular case, knowing the situation and current editions of both teams I can only back TB on the RL or make it a no play.

i have to say I like LAD ML and under 8 this morning. i trust lad bats against lefties much more. maholm is dope, especially at home and i fuckin cash his ticket all the time. trust dodgy bullpen more. in a low scoring game, lad is 50x better at manufacturing runs via steals especially.

I AM ALMOST CERTAIN A DIVISION WINNER CANNOT PLAY A WILD CARD TEAM FROM THEIR OWN DIVISION WHICH MEANS THE CUBS WILL MORE THAN LIKELY PLAY THE DODGERS IN ROUND 1 and cannot face the Brewers. I am not 100% but that is my understanding. :shake:

I believe you're correct, and that is why we've never seen the yanks play the sox in the 1st round.

Your not worried about the high juice?

I always wait for lineups so most times I get the worst price on games anyway . I took note of SEA @ LAA . Figuring LAA was on cruise control which has been sort of proven by there play @ Oak last 2 days the Mariners could not win and it was because they could not hit / score runs .

This trip : 4 3 2 3 0 3 2 - All losses

All season SEA offense vs KC pitching :

1 6 1 4 4 0 3 2

Sea is 10-26 away since July 1st and 5-17 last 22 which includes a 4 game win streak sweeping CLE and 1st game @ Texas so otherwise 1-17 L18 ....

To me Grienke is on par with Gil Meche . Yeah he is a tad below but there is little difference IMO bewteen the two in terms of quality . So I paid it for Meche yesterday so why not here and Rowland Smith is a solid young LHSP . I also faded Morrow in Game 1 at PK. Grienke throw a CG 5h 1 run game @ Safeco earlier this season

SEA is 8-22 since the break on the road -
wins - King Felix 3x (3-3 record) , Washburn 2 x (2-2 record) , Dickey , Silva and Rowland Smith 1x ...so basically if King Felix or Wash dont start the team is 3-17 ....water down further both Dickey and Silva won @ Texas vs Matt Harrison a raw young LHSP who in inconsistent . So they have 1 win then against 17 losses and really it was vs another raw young LHSP in Zach Jackson.

SEA is 4-13 away vs RHSP since the break and 6-16 since July 1st

They beat Reyes 4-3 @ Cle with Washburn , Ervin Santana in extra innings with King Felix , Feldman with King Felix and Washburn vs Marcum who we know has ups and downs due to the elbow issue ...not exactly much to go on..

KC has won 6 straight and 7 of 8 while going 3-1 vs LHSP losing to Lee(who doesnt ?). Also 7-2 L9 vs LHSP losing both to Lee

KC is 6-2 in game 4s and SEA 2-6 although most for KC were after losses in game 3

Clearly low run support an issue when Grienke pitches especially at home on normal rest ...
39Inn 36h 16r 15 er 8bb 47 Ks

High K rate of interest as it usually signals "better stuff" that day and it continuely shows up in those starts . Tad lower Hits to innings would make it even better but he the 2 so-so starts otherwise only 20 hits in 27 innings ...

KC started 6-1 in Grienke starts but just 2-4 last 6 but not much change in pitching just lss runs scored. So they are also 6-1 at home when he gets extra rest despite his pitching not being as sharp in some manners...46.1inn 42 H 16r 15er 3hrs 9bb 32 Ks ...numbers pretty similiar but less runs allowed on extra rest even with 1 bad start but much lower Ks mark ....

Interesting to me ....assume better fastball on normal rest cause Grienke can dial it up to 94,95 MPH and probably better splitter and 2 seamer on extra rest if I had to guess as why .....

8 starts safe to assume he is 0-7 in them and think his team won the ND.

Last year @ KC 1.1 8h 10r 10er 2hrs 2bb oKs

KC 17-10 at home vs LHSP but 16-7 after 1-3 start losing vs CC , Lee and Pettitte ...(also 15-12 away vs LHSP)
Also 7-2 L9 vs LHSP both losses vs Lee

Only losses vs medicore SP 3-2 to Harrison vs Bannister and 6-5 early on vs BALT to Olson vs Tomko

Think Grienke is 4-2 at home opposing a LHSP but has lost the past 2 Lee and Liriano...

SEA 1-8 away catching +175 to +200 , 3-13 L3 years and 13-36 L10 years

4-11 in Sept
3-9 on Thursdays (16-29 L3 years)
5-15 away with 8 or 8.5 totals
12-24 after 3 losses (shows they tend to lose in streaks)
19-29 in day games

KC is 11-5 in Sept
10-11 Thursdays
after 3 wins 11-9 (probably a 50-50 chance they extend streaks)
20-13 home with 8 or 8.5 totals
28-24 in day games

Really SEA has lost Beltre and replaced him with Tuey at 3rd and put Valbena at 2nd ...Tuey is 3/24 8Ks or 2/18 6Ks vs RHSP or 0/12 away while Valbena is 2/22 with 7Ks

Balentin is 196 in 200+ atbats....19/110 away 4hrs 11 rbi but 39Ks
vs RHP 151 abs 9bb 52 Ks ....

should have a backup catcher in for SEA....

Mariners dont hit in day games ......

Hope for KC to have Shealy , Guillen , Butler in the middle and Olivo would be nice as well ...

High price ..it is but it seems justifable IMO when you look at everything ...also KC has the edge in the pen but that may not able as Soria has picthed 3 straight and 4 of 5 . Might go with 1st ML instead ...not sure . As I said I have done well this series so my appettitte for risk could be increased ..

Probably see -1.5 RL as a good angle as well just the loss of Soria waters it down some.......

im still trying to pick myself up from my parlay of LAA/Under last night. night before that i was also on the under that got walked to hell. I've read the two games in this series well, something just always comes in an fucks me. Might take some 1h under action.. The runs scored in the past 2 days are all from mental error and bullpen!

Of note though Feierbend with Knight behind the plate has thrown well twice at home defeating Boston and NYY with DiceK and Mooose past 2 years ...he has been fine at home though in 2008 but not the road yet ...

22-11 UND for Knight as well ......tough to lay an under though ...

Not sure how relevant this is as I dont track it specifically but HOME TEAMS have seemingly dominanted the last month as I always seem to recall the HOME TEAMS ML cashing . Yesterday noticed something like 11-4 record for home teams and 3 wins were playoff contenders Mets , Philly and Milw only DET off a "bad loss" won on the road as a team out of the races ....

Sort of like mop up time for alot of these bad teams just trying som eyoung guys to get experience .....FYI...

If anyone has the GS results would be interested to know if my observation was correct about home teams ...Thanks:shake:

No time to talk really but in Pitt
Dodgers play Frisco at home next day.
Have been pitiful in last game or road trip think 7-2 or 7-3 no time to check
Good home dog ump
went thru and maholm very solid in home day games sorry this is vague but real time problem also Kershaw something of a joke on the road

By the way, why are people saying Anaheim does not care today? No opinion yet on the game but American league getting pretty tight now with Anaheim and Tampa.

Good Luck Tuck . really cant buy into a play on Pitt or Under here . LAD lineup just to solid and Pitt relies heavily on McLouth -Michaels -Laroche for offense with 2 of them being LHB vs a powerLHP (only 231 BAA) doesnt seem like a good matchup. Neither pen has my confidence.

Actually prefer LAD even vs Maholm as a home pup.

Only 3 away starts in the day for Kershaw . @ Philly , @ STL and @ Det . The 1st two he was very solid in but was pulled after 4 scoreless @ DET due to a rain delay. he wasnt good vs Philly but it was also a 3:55 EST for a Western team his 1st Eastern Time zone start in the majors maybe even pro ball . As well as rematch of the 4 game sweep LAD had laid on Philly the previous week where Kershaw was solid at home vs them...tough situation IMO was his only struggle......

BOL -Pitt lineup to thin

By the way, why are people saying Anaheim does not care today? No opinion yet on the game but American league getting pretty tight now with Anaheim and Tampa.

Not that they dont care . Just they have some banged up players and have been using the past week to rest there offense stars ...very watered down lineup. Saunders in a great spot now that I look at because he was shelled last app vs OAK and has seemingly gotten back to form recently. All depends on lineups though ....:shake:

I caved in and took LAD and over 8-105 ....

Just goes back to the LAD run of late before yesterday like 14-2(now 14-3) in which they scored at least 5 runs in all wins and the losses were shutouts . They scored 5+ and lost for the like 3rd time in the 2nd H yesterday (think 24-3..??check the tread from tues-Wed) ...Maholm has struggled vs LAD in the past and has had some regression of late and some issues in day starts...just need LAD to get 4 runs for a split and they rested there key pen arms yesterday....:cheers:BOL all

LAD is 33-24 since the break.

There record breaks down like this

3runs or less scored : 5-18
4runs scored :4-3
5+runs scored : 24-3

They are 13-17 away making them 20-7 at home . They have 1 WIN scoring less then 5 runs 4-1 @ STL(Kershaw day start @ Lohse to avoid sweep) . They have 3 losses scoring 4 runs , 1x scoring 6 and yesterdays 8runs .

So away they are :
3runs or less 0-12
4runs or less 1-3
5+ runs 12- 2

They are 14-3 SU L17 games and two losses were shutouts !!! All wins all 14 of them they scored at least 5 runs each game

Last 11 meetings(07 and 08) LAD has scored 5+ in 11 of the 13 which includes 1 game with 4 runs in 08 whiuch they lost (the other game ws a 3-1 loss& yesterdays 15-8 loss)......

Pitts L12 games they have allowed at least 5 runs in 9 of them(6+ in 8 of them) . Pitt was 4-12 L16 at home besides the STL sweep.....

Yes I agree, but I missed getting it in.

SN - Do you have any thoughts on Hou/Fla tonight? I'm leaning over there but don't know much about Arias. Also, hard not to like TB with Shields being so dominant at home. Rays better vs. Rh's but Perkins has really been poor over his L4 starts.

TB 14-2 in Shields home starts. Out of those 14 wins 6 have been by one run. Very high percentage of one run games.
