Prrobably have to take a chance on Florida. And if the Yanks win today purely forced bet on Texas as that would be 2 losses ending in a home game.

Hate to say it but with the Cardinals record in 4th game of series and Cubs next might have to play the Dodgers even though they are looking at the Giants. But these days not sure the Gisants mean much.

Sure is a nice price on Felix jwk, much agreed.

BC - good daily thread you have here. Gotta say thanks for the Balty no two unders in a row trend that got me thinking about the easy over today in the first place.:shake:

Hamels is winless against the fish this year (0-1) in three starts with an era of 4.57. But the marlins batting avg is only .195 against him. Typical of the marlins they have 7 hrs in only 15 hits. Coles day splits aren't overly impressive and he has struggled since the break. The Phils haven't seen Volstad yet so that favors the fish. Volstad's numbers are much better on the road (era of 1.62 compared to 5.73). He has only had one previous start in the day but it was very impressive. This is a big game for both teams, but coming off a shutout I like the Marlins to take the game and the series. There is no way Cole should be favored by this much.

giggity - Bill Hohn will take 2 to 3 ERA points off any pitcher if he's in the worst of his kind of strike zone moods, he's that bad. So Hamels ERA vs the Fish w/Hohn BHP is really 2.57 to 1.57

Cards looking ahead to Cubs? But got Lohse, at home going for sweep with Offense rolling and bullpen setup..

Probably look hard at Cards. Just getting started.. 'an_horse'

SD/Mets under is a possible play. Banks has been consistent this year, even holding the Mets to 1 run in 6IP earlier this year (at home) and Johan shouldn't have too much of a problem with the SD bats. This seems like a 4-1 or 3-2 type game.

Anyone ballsy enough to take a stab at the Pads to win 2 in a row? Johan lost earlier (on the road) to them 2-1. . .

Baltimore's last 37 games of offense -

11, 2, 9, 2, 5, 7, 5, 7, 10, 3, 10, 6, 8, 5, 7, 1, 1, 5, 7, 11, 1, 8, 8, 1, 1, 5, 6, 5, 13, 7, 3, 10, 3, 4, 5, 3 & 4 run totals.

_7 totals of 0-2 runs.
_6 totals of 3-4 runs.
24 totals of 5+ runs.

Their current 12 game streak of scoring at least 3 runs is their best this season.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Baltimore has gone 61 games without posting consecutive Under results. They are 40-17-4 to Over during this period, and are 15-0-2 to Over off their last 17 Under results.

As u have seen,I m new here,So im wondering;Should Toronto win today too,he won 2 previouses match against Oak.

welcome aboard, Superior. Anyone looking at simply the pure pitching stats on paper would tell you JD starting is easily Oakland's best chance to win any kind of game. But that offense stinks of dogshit, and imo you simply dont back a team who is 1-13 SU their last 14 road games when they're barely paying over even money. In other words, I don't really see why this game shouldn't be viewed as Toronto or no play.

The umpire in the phills game has some ridiculous #'s on the under = 4-14 (O/U) and an average run total of 6.44 per game. The wind looks like almost a nonfactor but it is blowing IN from Left Center. Looks like the public's siding with the OVER too. Man, I am close to pulling the trigger on this one. Damn you Cole Hamels

I played the Under. He is almost an auto play at this point imo. He's got the biggest strike zone I have seen all year with my own eyes and the numbers are there to back it up.

Fade the A's till end of season, 2-17 since July 13th

From this point on, generally a good strategy, but against a team that is so far back in its division with their stud Duch pitching, this may be the time to lay off the fade train of Oakland and continue next game.

i'm not too sure AJ has been on fire lately, he's probably going to opt out of Toronto and, is essentially, playing for a job next year for other teams..
last 10 he's 7-3 with a 4.13 era and his last 3 impressive starts he's 3-0 with a 2.62 era and the game fourth game was a loss where he got 0 run support from the jays!! i think fading the A's till they win is still the way to go. your thoughts?

I agree that AJ should be favored here, and fading the A's for the remainder of the season should be profitable. The "AJ playing for a new job" angle is a good one if you play Toronto here. I am not betting the game, I was just providing food for thought. GL with your choice, gsro.

yeps and i'm sorry if that came out the wrong way..just thought i'd give the other angle for betting the blow jays

Don't zig/zag with the A's, just bet against them each & every day. I have been betting against them for about 2.5 weeks now when Bet Crimes made a statement about their pitching wilting because they get no run support & I am fading them every game regardless his pitches for them or who they are playing, THEY SUCK!!! 2-17 since July 13th is no accident. By the way THANK YOU Bet Crimes:cheers:

I actually like LAD toady. Kershaw hasn't allowed a run in his last 12 IP, and has stopped walking guys.

Meanwhile Lohse is going the other way. He's gotten hit hard in his last three starts and the Dodgers have a big advantage in the bullpen.

**** Russell Martin likely to rest today, and Ankiel a likely scratch again

I like that Phils under along with the rest of yas.

what do you guys think about the look ahead theory. For example, people believe that the cardinals will look ahead to the upcoming series with the cubs, but dominating a series like they are currently in would only up their momentum into the cubs series...i mean do teams go on 10 game winning streaks by looking ahead to the next series?

shitty card today imo.. however I definitely think I'll be hitting the under in the Phillies game.. I would wait on that number because I do believe closer to game time we could see a good price on under 9 or under 9.5 for that matter. i practically lean towards every home team except cinnci and im sure as shit not laying alot of juice today.. day games kill.. someone give me something else to play haha

The right-hander is 20-1 with a 2.61 ERA in 25 career appearances, including 23 starts against the Reds. Look for the Astros and Oswalt to continue their dominance over the Reds. Cincinnati has lost ten of their last 12 games and the last 5 against Houston at home. The Reds have lost eight of the last nine home games versus Roy Oswalt. Go with Houston.

Meanwhile Lohse is going the other way. He's gotten hit hard in his last three starts .

May want to double check that. Lohse's last start vs tough Phillie lineup was quite good.. 3ER, 5 hits and 6 K's in a 6-3 win.. In 6 of his last 7 starts he has given up 3ERs or less.. :shake:

But look how far he went in that game Tee Dub.

Lohse last 3 starts - ERA of 6.38

The game you are talking about, yes 3ER, but only 5.1 innings pitched. Before that game he was shelled by the Mets for 7 ER in 5 innings.

Lohse is certainly no bum, but I do see a regression in his performances recently. Innings catching up with him? Who knows, but if I can get him out of the game in the 6th, with 3ER, and the Cards pen awaiting, I'll be a happy man today.

He was bad vs Mets no doubt.. Really liked his performance albeit somewhat abbreviated vs Phils 6 k's in 5 innings and was located his fastball very well... GL today ..

bah more baseball bets LOL

Fla/phi under 9 720 to win 600
Mets/pads under 4 1st 5 545 to win 475
Mets -1.5 250 to win 200

Some great value in the early morning whether you like +1.5 or the moneyline. Hamels, I love the guy, but in no way should be that big of a favorite over Volstad. I remember a similar line at CBP earilier this season with Hamels when the Phils played Florida(Nolasco) and the Fish won 7-3.

I also don't believe Banks should be dogged that much. Sure Santana is great but the Mets find ways to lose when he pitches. Banks is a very solid pitcher who is capable of shutting down the Mets.

Obligatory fade of Oakland. Toronto ML -120.

Lean to the Dodgers, but it's tough to bet because STL owns these guys.

I don't get the St Lou play at all. I'd like to hear some reasoning on that one. I'm liking LA a lot.

SD does show a lot of value, but their record away from home is hideous.....

This post probably won't help you but I'm staying the hell away from that game. I went LA twice in the first couple of games and man do I feel dumb now. The Cards are EN FUEGO right now man.

Lookahead or no lookahead these guys are killing the ball. Kick out Ludwick and Albert and I would still not fade them tonight. They are getting it done, even Pineiro had a hit last night and that was in the inning Albert knocked in a grand slam in.

Lohse is still sharp, forget one sub par start. You want your money on Kershaw? Yeah he can be solid and is a southpaw but these guys just beat Lowe and Billingsley.

Btw, you know what the worst thing here is?

Manny is still hot, he's still hitting and producing yet they can't win a ballgame at the Busch.

No bet for me.

1st 5 under for me in NYM, banks always falls apart on the road 5/6th inning. Lets hope it's the 6th.

I am liking LAD here as well. First I made mistakes playing LAD small in Games 1 and 2 I readily admit to. I always canceled out of Lowe yesterday when it got to -140. LAD is probably equal to STL with Manny now so for them to lay decent chalk is quite crazy. Billingsley is a solid road pitcher but Lowe is not . While Piniero has been terrible he is also isnt garbage throwing some real nice games lately. Anyway Lohse for as good as he has been at home almost always is a small dog or near even money at home. Which can be checked and verified . The latter is I agree Kershaw has been better recently and I do worry about him on the road but not sure about the past week or so but previous to that STL was having a terrible time with LHSP. I know in the CHI series Marshall and Lilly pitched very well vs them. So probably a good spot for LAD to avoid a sweep. Lets face if Carpenter is healthy and not making his 2nd start of the year he is probably close to -150 and yesterday PK -110 was probably the correct number maybe a few cents more with STL pen overworked ...

BOL

Also , I dont agree with Satyr saying the Cards are hot and I dont think they are even playing well ( not playing bad but nothing special in a 6-4 win or 8-6 win) . Ludwick is HOT and Pujols is great but not much else concerns me . Glaus is the typical power hitter stay away when he is smoking HOT and when he is cold its like standing in a freezer ...

Very key is to see LAD work vs LHSP recently . While Kershaw has been much better at home (especially day home starts) his work @ Det which was shortened by rain was impressive .
