The Open Championship at Royal St George's

I agree with you KJ. I’m not advocating a wager on them, I just can’t see wagering against them. This isn’t Sebastian Munoz or Chesson Hadley… all three are previous major winners and I think there’s a better chance of them stepping up rather than taking a step back.
Oh and not like I don't agree, but the pressure on previous winners is tenfold too

I'll post my wagers in here and just add to this post as we go along:

Rahm 10th or better -125

Phil 67th or better -115 LOSE

G Higgo to win - +9500 ($50.00 to win $4,750.00) LOSE

I took Round #2

Spieth to win his group -115 (Bryson & B Grace) & WIN

Brooks -140 Over Berger WIN

Brook finish Top 9 -110

Keeping record in the thread

You betting live?
We are seeing very few shots live in this tournament. Most are recorded and stored for those occasions when they show golf. There are exceptions Most of Spieths shots on day 2 were live. But if you suddenly see a less known player suddenly appear about to putt, I guarantee that putt is going in. Lots more to talk about but I won’t bore y’all .

Have you ever thought about going across the pond and living in europe looping for a year
Yea if @dexter would actually call me like he said he would. He claims to have looped at St Andrews. I think it would be a fun experience. Also, Waterville in Ireland takes on a lot of American caddies.

I may have some issues getting a renewed passport. But that’s another topic.

It would be fun if bandon and a course and/or resort overseas did an exchange program of sorts.

Love the Irish and English accent. A hardcore Scottish accent is worse than eating haggis.

Why doesn't BD do an exchange?

They're too big not to really

And if you hop across the pond tea I can already count you as a Citizen correct?

A few reasons I imagine.

Tons of private clubs in the states do the “J Visa” thing with the Irish people that come over for the summer to bartend etc.

My buddy Stu showed up in Scotland with the wrong info and stupidly said he was there to work and not just visiting and he never left customs. Flew his ass right back home to NJ.

The experience would be worth way more than the payday and I'm guessing that wouldn't suck either

Aussie or New Zealand would be great too

Bandon mist have some international reciprocal clubs, that could be a way in the door if no full exchange system

I’m too old for Aussie or NZ they won’t let me in. They have merit programs.
Makes sense, they seem to have less reciprocal too

Was just looking at mine and the golf clubs have almost none down under, the regular club has a bunch, but still way less than europe and the us

Also you may not love the scottish lassies or their accents

But them and the irish do pubs better than anything in england
The old man and i got into it with some “bloke” during the WC in 2002 (I think) when he called my dad a Welshman because he wouldn’t play him in darts when we wanted to watch the Italy game. I didn’t know that was a major diss but I was like being called the N-word and my old man knew that. Nothing physical but a lot of shit talking until we were asked to leave.

Basically called him a sheep fucker

Day 3 plays- liking the obvious big names but pricey so not much value, at least at my book.

Van Tonder +120 over Grillo. Never heard of the guy but seems to be a steady Eddie so far and more of a fade on Grillo, not expecting him to have same success as yesterday.

Morikawa -110 over Louie. I’m rooting for both to win but think Collin can close that 2 stoke gap today. Hoping they and Spieth have a day with Morikawa within 1 of the lead.

also tailed @bones on the overnight English play, thx for the easy winner.

that was my lean - did not pull trigger

Love the hills, love the blind shots, love the undulation, love the massive greens.
Like the hills, hate the blind shots. Blind shots are great when you have 30,000 spotters on the course to find your ball, but they suck for a normal round. I’ve always preferred the visual intimidation of seeing all the trouble in front of you.

The undulations are also cool to a certain degree. Hitting off uneven lies is great, but penalizing good shots because of random bounces happens way too often. Too much luck involved here.

Large greens are ok as long as it allows varied pin placements. Too often more than half the green becomes unusable due to knobs and false faces.

You do have to love pot bunkers though. Need more of those in the US.

I always love the delay in this broadcast.
In the old days the ball would have tracers as it flew through the air.
Now you hear the crack of the driver before the club strikes the ball.
Very few trackers.
We can get the French Open, Wimbledon with up to date production.
The Open is always the stone age in their broadcast.
