Alright, one more in Hawaii.

This one is always kind of blah to watch for me but lets find a winner.

I am going to fire off a couple tournament match ups for this week:

Jimmy W -130 vs Kevin Na: it was reported that Na has a broken bone in his right pinky finger. Allegedly out for four weeks but he is on the list to play this week. Walker loves playing in hawaii and I see no reason why he wont play well this week. Perhaps Na can play with the finger issue but I will take a swing at this price against him.

Z Johnson -135 vs Bubba W: Zach has performed well here in the past. I just dont think this course suits Bubba well. Par 70 and only 7000 yards or so should play into Zach's strengths. I expect good things from Bubba this year just not at this event.

I am going to do my best to stay disciplined enough to play tournament match ups where I believe one golfer makes the cut and the opponent misses the cut. This will probably limit the amount of plays I make but as many of you know, weird things happen in the final round. Every play will be based on one unit and I will keep a running tally of the win/loss for the calendar year.

Best of luck guys and lets make some money this year!

Just curious on the optimism for Bubba this year?

I am bullish on Bubba this year on the courses he usually does well on, now that he's back to using a normal golf ball (Riviera, Augusta, River Highlands), but his performance at Kapalua this past week is concerning

Cam Smith +110 vs Reed
Woodland +110 vs Bryson
Leishman -115 vs Spieth

I thought Bubba turned a bit of a corner last year after winning multiple times. I agree with gps on the ball change. Plus he went through a health kick and got into the physical shape he wants to be at. Previously he was an auto fade with his mental game. I'm not saying he will win three times again but he will be competitive in my opinion.

Appears as though Na is a WD this week as expected. I am not sure why the books aren't taking his match off the board. Good luck this weekend guys.

Not playing it but Woodland seems like great odds. He coulda just chilled in Maui after last week but fact he's playing says something imo

well kind of "WHO LET the DOG'S OUT ???" first round. Canadian Adam Svensson (OWGR #444) the leader @ [-9] with Andrew Putnam solo 2nd @ [-8] and Matt Kuchar solo 3rd @ [-7]. THEN three tied 4th @ [-5] Chez Reavie, Hudson Swafford (OWGR #137) and Japanese tour ace Shugo Imahira (OWGR #53)

a better start this week for my tourney match plays. still early. just HOPE they can keep it going

Ian Poulter -110 [-1] over Russell Knox [-2] 1 down
Patton Kizzire +115 [-3] over Kyle Stanley [+3] 6 up
Dylan Frittelli +110 [-3] over Russell Henley [-2] 1 up
Cameron Champ +125 [-1] over Jordan Spieth [+3] 4 up
Abraham Ancer even [-2] over Adam Scott [+2] 4 up

Oh man,

What a great start for him.

On a side note.... I hope this isn't like last year where there were so many runaways in tournaments.

I agree but let’s start that after Kuch wins this one by 10...lol. Or Chez runs him down. Either of those is perfect

WOW!!! 40-1 Matt Kuchar the 2nd round leader [-7] for [-14] one up on 75-1 Andrew Putnam [-5] for [-13] and four up on 125-1 Stewart Cink [-8] and 75-1 Chez Reavie [-5] at [-10] then 18-1 Marc Leishman [-6] and 150-1 Ted Potter, Jr [-5] tied 4th @ [-9]. the "Kooch" already with one WIN on the season @ Mayakoba Golf Classic in Mexico early November. the CUT comes @ [-2]

lucked out in my tourney match plays with three CUT wins after the 2nd round BUT the other four "The GOOD, The BAD and The UGLY"

Ian Poulter -110 [-1] for [-2] over Russell Knox [-3] for [-5] 3 down
Patton Kizzire +115 [-2] for [-5] over Kyle Stanley [-6] for [-3] 2 up
Dylan Frittelli +110 [-1] for [-4] over Russell Henley [-1] for [-3] 1 up
Cameron Champ +125 [-2] for [-3] over Jordan Spieth [-4] for [-1] CUT WIN 2 up
Abraham Ancer even [-4] for [-6] over Adam Scott [+5] for [+7] CUT WIN 13 up
Cameron Smith +135 [-2] for [-6] over Paul Casey [-2] for [even] CUT WIN 6 up
Gary Woodland +155 [-4] for [-3] over Justin Thomas [-2] for [-5] 2 down

the SHITS is Abraham Ancer went to +130 over Adam Scott @ South Point after opening even. in retro should have PRESSED :(

I’m back for more PGA action this season!

I hit Tway FRL last week! I only have Reed and Reavie alive this week for my To Win bets.

Sloooooow down Kuch!

:cheers3:

GOOD to have you BACK, geauxgolfer :shake:

going into Sunday Matt Kuchar STILL the leader [-4] for tourney [-18] two up on Andrew Putnam [-3] for [-16] solo 2nd THEN Keith Mitchel [-7] and Chez Reavie [-4] tied 3rd [-14]. nine more players tied 5th @ [-11]

mixed bag in my tourney match plays Woodland rated an MDF loss BUT Kizzire and Frittelli UP going into Sunday. the "Poulter-geist" and Knox "wicked close"

Ian Poulter -110 [-4] for [-6] over Russell Knox [-1] for [-6] all square
Patton Kizzire +115 [-3] for [-8] over Kyle Stanley [-2] for [-5] 3 up
Dylan Frittelli +110 [-3] for [-7] over Russell Henley [+1] for [-2] 5 up
Gary Woodland +155 [+6] for [+3] MDF over Justin Thomas [-3] for [-8] MDF LOSE

freeking Woodland. 2nd last week and "X" had to shoot a "bomber" the last day to beat him NOW "can't find his ass with both hands" this week :golffrustrated:

Adding

1/12/19 3:50pm Golf PGA Sony Open - Keith Mitchell +10000

Maybe he actually found something there at the end?

well I did NOT expect Mitchell to "blow up" the final round the way he played Friday and Saturday with 2 eagles, 9 birdies and just 1 bogie those two rounds. THEN finish Sunday with a [+2] for tourney [-12] tied 16th :(

Matt Kucher with his 2nd WIN of the season [-4] for tourney [-22] four up on solo 2nd Andrew Putnam [-2] for [-18] and five over Marc Leishman [-6], Chez Reavie [-3] Hudson Swafford [-6] and Canadian Corey Connors [-6] for [-17] tied 3rd

my BEST tourney match play results EVER. 6-1 with the only loss Gary Woodland to WIN $271.60 :)

Ian Poulter -110 [-2] for [-8] over Russell Knox [-1] for [-7] 1 up
Patton Kizzire +115 [-5] for [-13] over Kyle Stanley [-5] for [-10] 3 up
Dylan Frittelli +110 [+1] for [-6] over Russell Henley [-1] for [-3] 3 up
Cameron Champ, Abraham Ancer and Cameron Smith all CUT winners after the 2nd round

some big names playing the Rolex Series "big bucks" HSBC Championship in Abu Dhabi next week. BOTH Brooks Koepka and Dustin Johnson listed with 2017 and 2018 winner Tommy Fleetwood going for the "three-peat" along with Henrik Stenson, Tyrrell Hatton, Louis Osthuizen, Ian Poulter, Thobjorn Olesen and Matt Wallace :shake:
