I played this for the Cup Open race in North Wilksboro tonight:

Austin Dillon to win +8000 (Bovada) 0.2 units

I doubt he wins but he was gonna be on the pole before it started raining and the last 2 drivers could not qualify. Also they will be racing a soft tire and Dillon is very good at conserving his tires. The softer tire makes Hamlin and Truex good bets for the All-Star race tomorrow.

After qualifying, I see Buescher at +money, with FD at +200, everywhere else at +100 to +160.

This race and all road courses now you can give up stage points and have a better finish at the end. I expect Buescher to chase stage points if he can, but he is starting 26th, so unless lots of cars short pit just before the end of the 1st stage he will not be in a position to get points. This means he will probably short pit before the end of the 1st stage and try to get points in the second stage, which will put him in a bad position in the final stage and hurt his chances to finish in the Top 10.

Obviously, I wish I had Buescher +200, instead of -125 and +200 is a good bet.

You can say the exact opposite about McDowell, who will be going for the win and not stage points. I have added a Top 10 for him.

This race looks like it could be a total calamity judging by practice and the Xfinity yesterday with the tires. Bell was +350 or so fave early week but will have to start from the back.

Yeah, I am waiting to see if they do a competition caution in the first stage because of the tire issue, which will help Bowman who will start 32rd with Bell going to the rear. Otherwise, he may go a lap down with Larson on the pole and such a short track.

I bet Bowman Top 10 at -135 before qualifying and I see him at +175 now in a few places.

I did not watch the beginning of qualifying to see what happened to Bowman but he was fast in practice. I know the temperature was cooler during qualifying than it was in practice and will be for the race. Also, it rained before qualifying.

I like Keselowski, Logano, Berry, Buescher, Bowman, and Briscoe (somewhat) today.

Those who typically have tire issues and end up in the wall on high tire wear tracks like Larson, Bell, Busch, etc are gonna be tough to bet on.

Blaney is such an Iowa name. Pretty sure growing up and going to Knoxville there was a Blaney racing there, like 40 years ago

I played 2 early bets for the Cup race in New Hampshire on Sunday:

Still waiting for all of the matchups to come out. Only a couple of laps of practice and no qualifying due to rain. The rain may delay, shorten, or cause the race to be rescheduled for tomorrow.

No competition caution so the drivers starting from about Haley back have a decent chance of going a lap down unless there are cautions during the first stage. Also cars like Bell, Truex, and Blaney up front will be pushing it in the first stage. This makes Busch, Preece, McDowell, Cindric, and others good fades. I kinda want to bet Preece in some of his matchups though.
