Selection Sunday In-Game Thread

I don't think Booger has supported his points as well as he possibly could have and he is coming off poorly in my view

Let's see, Bama lost to Vandy, Tennessee, only scoring 3pts against Oklahoma, could've/should've lost to S.C. and beat Mercer.
If SMU shouldn't be in then BAMA definitely shouldn't be in!!!

SMU is by far the worst team in this thing. Their best win is at Louisville. Not one win over a currently ranked opponent. Bama sucks but at least they beat the #2 team.

Guess there might be a website update since it said Atlanta was hosting a SF and the championship game

Side note, if you want to go to a CFP game Boise vs Penn St tickets will likely be offered as charity

Clemson is probably the worst and has zero chance of staying within 20 of any top team. Problem with Texas is they've seen content playing boring low scoring games.

I actually think Saban is making rational points that make sense
And he's 100% right about not factoring in SOS in the last few rankings, which did back the committee into a corner with the results yesterday

What I meant was they got it right with SMU in and Bama out
It's certainly justifiable, but SMU is likely the worst team in the 11-15 range and is rewarded for not having to play a tough schedule. But the committee made their bed with the preposterous ranking of 8 last week

That's why it's stupid to do a weekly rankings show. You pigeonhole yourself to ideas you can't change.

So wait... SMU is seeded over Clemson after losing to Clemson? And funny to see Gamecocks will be ranked higher than Clemson and not in the playoff lol

I thought that was crazy.

I don’t know what Texas has on CFP / SEC aside from $. They get the most favorable schedule and I swear Clemson and SMU were swapped so they can matchup with the perceived lesser team (Clemson).

Who cares about the playoffs the big one is Miami vs Iowa State in the Pop Tarts bowl. I am sure that @KJ will be in attendance for this one.

Screw it, SMU lost to a 3 loss team in their conference championship, and their conference happens to be very weak - like mid-major weak. I’m not putting them in.

They had their chance.
Two of Clemson’s losses were against the SEC.

Sadly I had a clear stipulation in my contract that nothing East of the Mississippi

It simply is difficult for friends and family and hotel rooms/flights to Orlando over the holidays are not ideal. I even would have entertained the Bronx but Orlando...no chance

Calling ACC mid major is laughable. They were 7-5 against the SEC last year. And that was not a fluke as ACC has had a winning record vs the SEC over the past five years. But if you say the SEC is better, then I guess they’re better. Even though they have not proven it on the field.

So Nick said they won’t schedule tough games anymore since they didn’t get in with 3 losses.

SEC already only plays 8 conference games. What’s Nick’s move here? Not schedule Wisconsin? Or go down to only 7 conference games in the SEC?

Alabama definitely had some bad losses but at least they have some quality wins. Who did SMU beat this season.

It’s not worth the risk if it won’t be rewarded is the point. The committee told everyone that there is no benefit to playing a harder schedule. Teams can’t control their conference schedule, but they can control the non-conference, so they’re more likely to just schedule easy wins moving forward. You can lose all your games against good teams and get in the playoff (Texas, Penn St, Indiana, SMU) as long as you can beat a bunch of scrubs. This isn’t hard to understand
