Because they also beat Penn State and Bama lost to Auburn. They also crushed Sparty. So Bama gained by SITTING
I'm too lazy to type out all of my thoughts on this, but I assume you're making the case for tOSU to be in over them....yes they beat PSU and MSU but at the same time Alabama beat alot of quality teams too. And then it ties back to gaining by sitting...actually if OSU would have thumped Wisc I think they get in but they didnt. OSU needed to win big to leapfrog Bama, Wisconsin needed that win to leapfrog them. I don't think undefeated Wisc gets in without beating OSU....

What it does boil down to is what is the point of the conference championship game? Rid of divisions and just have best record win their conference. If same records, co-champions just like in basketball. It adds unnecessary clutter now that playoffs exist.

FSU and MSU were pretty good at the time. But they need to go to 8. OSU probably should’ve got it but they were very flawed and I think last year was a factor.

Florida St. - yes a quality team especially factoring in QB.
LSU
Mississippi St.

Top 3. I did not say they beat better teams than Ohio St. because Penn St. is top 6 in my opinion. But, I consider losing to Auburn & Oklahoma for OSU a wash.

Then you go into the wins. In totality with Wisconsin OSU gets an edge but not by a significant margin. Then you factor in the Iowa beatdown and I would give the nod to Alabama.

If you NEED to win big in a college championship game to sneak in...probably not the most deserving to begin with.

Iowa at home is a tough place to play. Scores get inflated. Just like Bama inflated the score of garbage teams it played like Vanderbilt Arkansas and Tennessee. I think that's crap.

Yep. SEC better track record and the Big 10 getting shut out 83-0 the last two playoffs. Looks like it’ll be an all SEC final so they will look good in the end.

I think losing against crap teams is not as bad as losing as bad teams. Otherwise Oklahoma and Clemson wouldn't deserve it. Heavily favored teams are allowed to lay an egg once in a while against teams they'd beat 9 outta 10 times. But when you play teams that are on your level, other big boys, you have to show what you got. OSU showed its ceiling by beating PSU, Alabama lost its equivalent chance.

tOSU showed its basement too by getting blown the fuck out by Iowa.

and lost to Oklahoma. So, a wash for losing to Auburn let's say.

Then you go into the wins, in totality you can give a slight nod to OSU...but they lost another game - BIG. To a mediocre team.

Why punish Ohio State for playing Oklahoma? Top-ranked team. Obviously the lesson learned is that every team needs to have a super soft schedule and not make conference championship game so you can sit and ride for free
