After he launched a 3-pointer in the first quarter Thursday night in the Suns' home opening loss to the New Orleans Hornets at US Airways Center, Porter didn't look pleased. And not long after that, Bell was headed to the bench, where he remained for the rest of the first half.
Porter said after the game he didn't have a problem with Bell, and that the Suns have had enough discussion about shot selection to know the difference between a good shot and a bad shot.
"I was trying to get (Leandro Barbosa) going," Porter said of his decision to let Bell sit in the first half. "Raja didn't do anything wrong.
"He came out in the third quarter, and he was aggressive, took his shots and made some plays. I've got no problem with Raja. He plays hard, competes."
Bell gave credit to the Hornets for jumping on the Suns early and said he's not trying to figure out what Porter wants.
"I'm not a figure-it-out guy," he said. "You tell me what you want, I'll try to give it to you. I guess I didn't know tonight."
Asked about sitting out the second quarter, he said, "No comment on tha
