Travers Card thoughts:

R1: I'm usually against maiden winners vs winners 1st time but #3,8 certainly figure in here as this is not the strongest bunch...at first glance #1 is 0 for 13 with 6 places and 4 shows on turf but ran into a couple of tough ones in last three races, last two vs Maker's colt Roman Approval who has since ran 2nd at Arlington in Stars and Stripes vs horse for course and recent Arlington Million winner The Pizza Man and then Roman Approval ran 4th in G3 American St Leger on Millions Day, and three back #1 was 2nd beaten half length to Morning Calm who has been running in stakes company.

R2 winner feels like it comes from #2,6,8 and possibly #9
#2 is a 2YO maiden 2nd time starter and that's a big move at Saratoga for Asmussen
#6 is a Stall firster out of Blame who's 9/33 with his debut 2YO's , lone sibling won 1st out.
#8 firster for Weaver out of Street Boss who's 23% with his firsters, all three siblings are winners
#9 has race experience, adds blinkers and should be aggressive early with nice outside post

Travers Card Thoughts:

Race 2: #8 gets stuck outside again, which means he's gonna be hustled along again out of the gate, adds blinkers, contender but will try to beat for top spot as figure to be a short price for top connections. #8 has a nice long, steady breeze pattern over the track dating back to May capped off by a couple of nice 5F gate works the last 2 weeks. #6 Clairborne homebred for Stall another with a nice steady work patern showing some flashes of speed the last 2 weeks with 2 sub 48 4F works. Top choice will be #2 2nd out for Asmussen, was closing last out and should appreciate the extra half furlong.

Race 3: #3 missed the break last race which was first off a year long layoff, but still made up ground, expect a much improved effort here. #5 third race off a layoff fro Matz is a favorable angle and had excuses in last being rank and hitting rail in the turn, kept on and was squeezed a bit late but managed the place finish, coontender. #6 exits state bred races but has been facing some good competition 2 back winner won Friday's Yaddo, horse for course with 3 wins in 4 efforts over the Toga turf.

Race 4: #1 Steady but fairly slow work pattern which works for Rudy Rod, somehow the slower the works the better his firsters run, could be sneaky at 10-1. #2 only entrant with experience was pressured on the lead before giving way late in last, experience alone makes him a contender. #4 offspring of Lookin at Lucky are 13 for 71 first time out and this one went for 300k last Sept, more than 10x sire fee, 3 gate breezes are all much slower than other works, if he leaves the gate right might be capable.

Race 7: Can #2 last the 7F? Seems to be the early controlling speed and might be battling with #6 and possibly #3. Think that battle might set up the race for #7, concern here is Dallas Stewart's 0-37 graded stakes losing streak, and this one is a bounce candidate coming back in 3 weeks off career high Beyer off long layoff. #8 is another who might be able to come from off the pace at a price.
