Saratoga Race Course Week #6 Discussion.....

Unreal, Rice is 0 for 35 last 5 years with 1sters in turf routes and blows this field away, that's how my whole meet has been.

I normally hate Rice with 2 year olds, but that is why I picked that one in the contest just followed the money. I was shocked to see 7k in the pool on a Rice 2 year old with 4 works.

All I can do is laugh that off

Couldn't agree more seems like every sequence has a head scratcher. When I capped I saw nothing more then 13. It truly is amazing what Turf to dirt can do for a horse, I always try to remember turf to dirt is huge, but when the horse hasn't run a lick on the dirt it makes it easy to overlook.

Prime example is Conquest superstep's best races and 2 wins came after turf and Synthetic (plays similar to turf) today they run back to back on dirt and he doesn't run as well. If I am Casse clearly continuing to run that horse turf then dirt from here on out. Regarding Temper Mint Patty, Pletcher has an awful record of taking over horses and then entering them in stakes I think it is below 10%. Horse has never showed to love distance, aside from winning versus a weak field at Finger, aside from that consistently hangs. Anyway you shake it, 4 was still hard to get to.

There is a lot to like especially 2nd off a layoff, and cutting back at a tricky distance. However I don't think Irad hopped on, but I think his brother hopped off to ride the 2. J/t Combo is 0-8, and JL is making an $83,000 wager the 2 is better than the 1, I would like to think he knows better than us but who knows. 4th jockey in 4 races and no better than losing by 7 lengths is enough for me to risk it. 2467 for me. Good luck boys.

Irad on certainly not a negative, even if it's Jose off..#1 is a cutback, improving Beyers each race, 2nd off layoff. GL

I didn't come in here to rip your selection and apologize if I came off that way, I just love discussing the ponies and hearing what others see, and explaining how I see it. I am not wagering today, merely just reviewing the form and doing what I love. I typically don't love 3 furlong cutbacks as dulls their speed especially on the rail. I wish you a winner since you are wagering and I am not.

Definitely didn't dull his speed. Assuming Irad figured if he could find the front, they couldn't run him down on the cutback. On to the next

Agree, I didn't really expect him to be on the lead in there but wasn't much other early speed on paper, prolly thought he could wire them

Kendrick better enjoy sitting on this horse now, as I doubt he gets it going forward should it run similar to last out.

Bridge jumpers are out, balloon show payouts if 4 finishes off the board. Over $150k in the show pool on that horse, no other horse has more than 11k on it. Makes little sense to bet to win, when payout will be similar to show.

In between races I've been working on Sat card, also did a bit of work last night..still a few more hours of work on it unfortunately

I will be capping all night, while I have a hotel at the casino for the night. Plan on capping Saratoga, Canterbury, Del Mar and Monmouth. If anyone has Monmouth card would greatly appreciate it posted.

Good luck to all playing 27 and only possible threats to your guys ticket here, but I would think you should be good.

R9 #9 is a likely short price winner but I like #2 who cuts back and even though is a 5 yo mare has really improved in last three, will need another step forward. .#4 also within a chance. ..need 10 and possibly 5 to run with 9 early. ..#7 is lightly raced and could take another step forward, exits troubled trip in race won by stablemate, 2nd place finisher of that race was a 3/5 Pletcher.
I hate myself
