Saratoga 7/22 Opening Day

R1: #2 and #4 look like the pace setters and could put #5 in good position after being wide in last, 2nd off layoff and back to two turns so expecting a good effort....probably reaching here but #8 has a couple nice races (12 and 13 back) over track including a winning effort recording a career best 97 Beyer
 
R2: 2YO firster fillies, not much to go on...two that ran are a 1/1A entry for trainer that's 1 for his last 58...#8 Dubb/Rudy/Irad looks live, Rudy great with 2yo's and firsters...20% $2.79 ROI 2YO 1sters... $100k 2YO in training purchase out of Mission Impazible who's offspring has gone 2 for 6 in their debuts

R3: #7 is a drop down for Joe Sharp, former Mike Maker assistant went 38-4-3-4 Spa meet '15, off layoff but training well...could get a good pace setup behind early speeds of 1,5,6
 
R4: 2 looks like short price sure winner but 1 or 3 could make 2 work for it off layoff...1 has horse for course angle working for her
 
R5: #1 Maker/Ramsey off claim, off layoff and training well...#7 also off claim and seems to be an improving 3yo filly...#10 chased a slow pace in last but will take $ and it's not a good Pletcher move, 9% turf Claimers at Spa L5 years $0.46 ROI....#12 has to overcome poor post but is a drop in class.
 
First day at the SPA... Good luck. I wont be there, but will likely be throwing some cash around
 
R6: not much to go on here with mainly firsters....a couple have that race experience edge, #4 was a $375 K purchase as a 2YO in training, debut race was off slow and made a nice run late going by winner after wire in gallop out, that winner runs later in G3 Schuylerville....#7 is Rudy/Dubb/Irad and had a useful debut vs Olive Branch who will also be in today's Schuylerville, Rudy is very good with 2yo's and with maiden 2nd time starters.
 
R7: projecting a good early pace with 5,6,7 and possibly even 3 involved early....#2 could fall into a great pace setup, has been working well off layoff, ran against track bias in last as beaten fav.

Scratches certainly change things in R2...
#2 I don't like firsters breaking from the rail and Robbie Davis doesn't win many races but firster has some very nice works and dam was a 6 time winner
 
Using #13 in Race 5 in the Dime-a-day contest on Xpressbet. Other choice was the #7, but she may not hold at the 9/1 number.
 
Well, had the right race for the D-A-D, but wrong horse. #8 pays $39.40 to place, which will be hard to beat today.
 
Man this weekend is appetizing....Chrome vs Dortmund on Saturday, Songbird vs Carina Mia on Sunday. Great stuff.
 
R8: going with both fillies out of The Astoria....#3 broke track record for 4.5 F at Keeneland in debut then had a troubled trip in last....#9 3rd place finisher of debut race came back to win Debutante and in last raced against track bias (R-, S-), now adds lasix and draws well on outside
 
Gonna suck if this Pick 4 fails because my more confident choices are in these next two races.
