***National Championship--Clemson vs Alabama--Discussion***

I bring up pay saying they make enough for it to be their only, full time job. I don't think they used to make enough to "work" only this job. :shake2:

They've always made enough for working one day per week.

It's an easy fix, but the NFL refuses for some reason. There's no reason that they can't have an "officiating academy" where they train ex-NFL and college players. They'll be younger with better eyes and reflexes, they'll be more accustomed to the rules as actually having played the game (recently), and you can pay them a ton of money to make it worth their while. Why not pay them $500k+? The league makes $9+ BILLION per year. Like I said, it's embarrassing that the NFL trots out the officiating they do.
