Baltimore has gone 52 games without posting consecutive Under results. They are 33-15-4 to Over during this period, and are 12-0-2 to Over off their last 14 Under results.
They play Monday off an Under result on Sunday.

Both Brewers and Cubs hit well off of lefties, see value in over 7.5

M's can't hit RH pitching, King Felix could do well. See value in under 10

O's look good. Yanks may be bored first game back and not playing Boston

Hirsh is not a good pitcher. He is a temp because they have to pitch someone. So--. The Reds are not a bad team. They were crushed by Colorado. Partly by good pitching and partly by very good hitting by a team that is on a major roll. Snell--well he really has not been very good either and Pittt has not showed Anything since the trade. Colorado dominated this Pitt team in Colorado like they were scared mice. I played Colorado the much stronger Team action since any change from Hirsh would be fine.
Anaheim ml. Take a look at the Covers chart. Boston 6-14 first game of series after a win. Anaheim has beaten Boston 5 in a row. Anaheim is probably the best team in baseball right now. They used nobodies from the bullpen today and put up very little real effort vs Baltimore. They wanted Boston. Take the best team in baseball and 45 cents. Ok
Agree with the Seattle under. Feldman the only Texas pitcher that seems to go under even after a loss.

Oakland is 5-1 SU in home game 1s vs teams with losing records, this season. On that note, looking at who takes the mound for Kansas City to try and help the Royals buck that trend...

Greinke's last 6 starts vs AL teams
WHIP 1.75, ERA 6.75, POR 0-4-2, opp avg runs 5.16, KC 2-4 SU

Greinke's last 6 starts on the road vs AL teams
WHIP 2.07, ERA 9.60, POR 0-5-1, opp avg runs 6.50, KC 0-6 SU

Oakland has faced Greinke once this season managing 12 baserunners for 2 ERs off 5 IP. They stranded 6 RISP and barely missed a grand slam off him, in a 6-5 win.

great thread, great info guys!

at first glance

mets w/ maine

and fade byrd (taking tigers)

yanks rl w/ moose (yanks just cant lose at home)

might parlay CC Sabathia w/ someone (cc is undefeated as a brewer)

Felix Hernandez is a perfect 7-0 to Under on the road this season, but brings a 3-1-1 to Over mark thru his last 5 starts into Monday's game vs Texas.
His last 2 starts vs Texas went for a WHIP of 1.82 & an ERA of 4.90 (both POR losses, 0-5 & 2-5). He has a 1:1 SO/BB ratio in 18 IP vs Texas this season, his worst vs any team he has struck out more than 3 against.

M. Mussina is 7-0 to Under his last 7 home starts (WHIP 1.08, ERA 1.87).

Baltimore has scored 19 runs off 16.2 IP by Mussina the last 2 seasons, and is 9-1-1 to Over their last 11 road games vs AL teams.

Guthrie is 4-1 to Over his last 5 road starts vs AL teams (WHIP 1.23, ERA 3.48) and got tagged for 6 ERs in 4.2 IP in his only start in NYK over the last 2 seasons.

Whenever I see the name Daisuke Matsuzaka I'm always left humming a tune by that overblown hairdo of a white rapper ... dice, dice, baby

Onto matters at hand, Mr. Dice-K has a faultline running through the nature of his home starts, it all comes down (not unnaturally) to the overall proficiency his opponent has shown on the road...

Dice at home vs teams w/road records worse than 4 games below .500
WHIP 1.28, ERA 0.82, O/U 1-4 - avg 6.20 runs/game, BOS 5-0 SU

Dice at home vs teams w/road records better than 2 games below .500
WHIP 2.00, ERA 7.00, O/U 3-1 - avg 11.75 runs/game, BOS 3-1 SU

In the 1st instance he averages 4.20 runs of support, in the 2nd instance (when he's clearly struggling to the greater degree) he averages 6.75 runs of support, explaining why BOS's SU record for said games is really no less successful (& also explaining the switch for the totals outcomes).

The best road record he's faced at Fenway this season is 4 games over .500 (Saint Louis). The Angels are 14 games over .500 on the road.

I know that Sabathia has been lights-out since coming to Milw but one of the philosophies I follow with betting baseball is to take the puppy when that puppy is a top team with a slightly lesser pitcher on the mound (lily is no slouch)...The odds are just too good to pass us......Its rare to get the Cubbies at a small dog price let alone @ +150...I know the road woes of said Cubbies too......Cubs have a lot of RH power, esp with Soriano back....And I am not drinking the Brewers kool-aid yet.....Braun wont be able to tie or win games for them for two more months........They easily could have been swept by Houston....In Milw's only win of the weekend, Houston had 14 hits and only 4 runs, Brewers very efficient, 6 runs on 7 hits......I am hoping this number keeps rising..............

I agree that Lilly isn't a slouch but Milwaukee crushes LHP at home. The total is 7.5 which in all likelihood means one team is getting shutdown tonight. Which is more likely Team A- who has one of the best pitchers in baseball and an offense that bludgeons LHP at home or Team B- who is very solid in their own right but not a good road team?

This should be an interesting series, it's huge for both squads.

They have a 9 total in the Mets game. 90 degree temperture. Maine has played at Florida 3 times. The totals reached were 13,9 and 11. Nolasco is a fine pitcher but the Mets have pounded him. In 5 starts he has gone 17.2 innings and given up 23 runs. In his last 2 starts he has gone 12 innings at home and given up 9 runs. Maine of course has been largely garbage. His last start was not bad but the 4 before it were trash. The 2 teams have disliked each other for a Long time. Over 9.

I like it a lot. The Mets are hitting well, Nolasco has had a few rough starts as well as a bad history with the NYM. There is no reason to worry about Maine's last start as he always dominates the Phillies.

Let me just say this about the Brewer game. The Brewers are 4-6 at home last 10 and have lost 3 of their last 4 home games vs lefties. The Cubs are also 4-6 last 10 on the road. The Cubs have gotten back some hitters and added a fine relief pitcher recently. The only thing they really lack right now is Wood which is a lot. They are also 6-4 their last 10 at the Brewers. The bottom line here is Sabathia. Nothing else. Sabathia and right now I am not prepared to gamble on that game.

It might have already been stated more eloquently in here, but if Jason Hirsh was anything decent at all as far as talent and in the minds of the Colorado Rockies organization, why wait till now to use him?

10 starts in AAA with an era of over 5+, before just now being called up.....Strange timing in the heat of the crap ass NL West race...

I think that I've just come to the conclusion that the Pitt game is going over instead of how I first started looking at this from the viewpoint of the Rockies just hammering Snell's ass...Could be an 8-7 or more runs by each team slugfest tonight, in which the starting pitchers have about as much to do with the outcome as we do..LOL, but I'm thinking both are long gone by the 5th inning.........

Just my .02 GL

I'm leaning UNDER in that Brewers Cubs game. Can anyone confirm the roof status at Miller Park? The wind is blowing in at a pretty decent clip. Lily is a big flyballer, so if balls are getting hung up in the wind, I like this one even more.....

Roof open or closed?

I did actually bet the Colorado game over 9.5. But I bet it over small. Hirsh has a lot at stake here and first game back up you frequently see a major effort and Snell has gone under 5 of his last 7 home games. The big value in this game is the variation in team strength and determination to win.

Wandy Rodriguez shut down the Brewers on Friday - yes, the Brewers have a history of bashing LHP at home but its not absolute........I'll take Lilly over Rodriguez (better home than away for this young lefty and he still shut down the Brew Crew)..

Water always finds its own level - my belief is that the Brewers wont keep a .571 winning % all year - playing over their heads if you will - and they'll come back to earth a bit....Im not saying they suck - they have a nice team - they might be the NL wildcard - just think there is some value for the Cubbies tonight...

After throwing a successful 30-pitch mound session on Friday, Roy Oswalt was officially named Monday's starter against the Reds.

"It went pretty well," Oswalt said. "I felt no pain. It seems like I haven’t pitched in a while. Hopefully, I’ll get out there Monday and get in a groove early and be able to get deep into the ballgame. I have 13 more starts and should be able to get 200 innings and hopefully take a little pressure off the bullpen." He's 7-8 with a 4.56 ERA this season and hasn't pitched since July 11.

With Hudson DL'd and out of Tuesday's start, Chipper DL'd, Mccann day to day...Cards +145 series price is sexy IMO

Two pitchers not pitching great lately...Two bullpens not pitching great...OVER in LA looks sweet. Giants RL, but again...bullpen stinks...But if they can muster some runs early...

Yankees :

Last 35 games at home ( Actually starts with ARod's return from the DL which also happened to be the 12-2 loss to Balt for Moose)

24-11 .686%
8-1 vs LHSP (7-2 Under : Three shutouts , Three 1 run and One 2 run )
16-10 vs RHSP (13-11-2 Under )

Allowing 3 runs or Less :
16-4 W/L & 17-1-2 UNDER

Which leaves them at 8-7 allowing 4 or more runs. They are 11-3-1 OVER in those games . Interesting is that they are 7-0-1 OVER in the 8 wins.

Moose : 11-3 Under at Home
Opposition scoring in recent home starts: (Bold = Unders)
July 1 1 1
June 2 4 3 1
May 6 12 3 1
April 7 1 5

He is 7-2 allowing 3 runs or less at home ( I mean the entire staff for tha game) and 9-0 Under . Last 7 at home all Unders (Only 24 runs or support and half in the past 2 starts) and 9 of 11 Under . He is 1-4 allowing 4 runs or more 3-2 Over .

Guthrie : 3.47 Road ERA 70 inn in 11 starts (about 6.1 Inn avg) but team ERA in his Road starts 5.36 and its not skewed by 1 or 2 outings . However pen is better recently and Cabrera has been solid who tends to be the guy when they are losing. Alos Guthrie weak run support all year 3.95 but 3.82 on the road (3-8 in his away starts)

Balt on the road is 3-19 when scoring 3 runs or less ( Cabrera has two 3-2 wins and Olson the other). Also 19-3 Under in those games .

If we look at the entire NYY season .

They were 9-11 1st 20 games at home before the above 35 game stretch .

When allowing 3 runs or less they were
8-1 W/L and 8-1 Under

When allowing 4 or more runs
1-10 W/L 6-4-1 Over . The win was an over .

Which makes them 24-5 allowing 3 runs or less and 25-2-2 UNDER. In the 24 wins 20-2-2 Under and 5-0 Under in Losses.

Which leaves them at 9-17 allowing 4 runs or more 17-7-2 Over . Importantly though all 9 wins were Overs .

So if you think NYY wins the game allowing 3 or less runs the corresponding play is UNDER . Of the 24 wins the UNDER is 20-2-2 and 25-2-2 overall 3 or less at home.

With ARod vs LHSP 8-1 and 7-2 Under w/o him 1-4 & 2-2-1 Under .

If you think NY is going to win and allow 4 or more the OVER is that play . In the 9 wins allowing 4 or more runs the OVER is 8-0-1 . Its 8-7-2 OVER in the 17 losses .

Conclusion : Neither SP gets good run support . Guthrie looks less then his best past few IMO and Moose has been really tough at home last 7 starts going 48 innings allowing 10 runs all earned but I believe at least 2 maybe 3 were due to Damon losing a ball in the lights vs CIncy in the 5th inning ( so 7 runs in the OTHER 47 innings 1.34 ERA) . Doesnt get ruled an error but I remember he should have caught that. Last 6 starts vs Balt at home going way back he has 4 good ones and 2 poor(basically 1 good start every season prior to 2008). The good produced 5 runs in 26 innings. Balt hitters have good splits vs him but imagine its feast or famine type production. They lived off the HR ball in the LAA series producing few runs if any outside of the long ball.

With Balt being 3-19 scoring 3 or less on the road and 19-3 Under in those games the Yank ML to Under parlay makes alot of sense when coupled with NYY being 24-5 and 25-2-2 Under in that situation . Still seems that the UNDER is probably the best play here and one could fuck with Balt to over parlay since they are 17-13 when they score 4 or more runs......

GL...:cheers:Lets hope the trends continue at least one more day ..

That is a great argument for taking the Over...keep those stats coming BC. :tiphat:
