Have put together a two day winning streak, still a big deficit.
I have Pirates series bet pending it's tied 1-1

9 lefties on the bump today

Owens-Red Sox
Miley-Seattle
Holland-Texas
Surkamp-A's
Smyly-Tampa Bay
Liriano-Pirates
Wood-Dodgers
Conley-Miami
Ray-DBacks

Wood

Handing the ball to Alex Wood (1-2, 5.06 ERA) for the finale of this three-game set isn't likely to go as well. He was hammered while losing his last two starts at Coors, surrendering 15 runs and 21 hits in 11 innings. He got the hook with one out in the sixth inning Sept. 27, being charged with eight runs with three coming on a homer by Nolan Arenado in the 12-5 defeat.

The left-hander hasn't instilled much confidence in being better this time, either. Wood has lost his first two road starts while being tagged for 11 runs with five walks in nine innings. He gave up six runs - three earned - and issued three walks while hitting two batters in four innings

Surkamp

Eric Surkamp, whose brief tenure as Oakland's No. 5 starter has gone smoothly enough, though he's still seeking his first win as a starter since 2011. The left-hander has given up two runs in each of his first three starts, though eight walks in 14 2/3 innings have stopped him from getting through six innings yet. Surkamp (0-1, 3.68 ERA) gave up seven hits with three walks in 5 2/3 innings of Tuesday's 3-2, 11-inning win at the New York Yankees.

He faced the Blue Jays six times in relief in 2014 while with the Chicago White Sox, giving up a run and two hits in 4 1/3 innings. Toronto has a .630 OPS against lefties a season after posting a major league-best .818 mark.

Holland

Derek Holland (2-0, 2.70) will attempt to prevent a fifth straight Rangers loss in Chicago and build off his latest effective outing. After working 6 2/3 innings in an 8-0 win at Seattle on April 12, the left-hander held Houston to two runs in a 105-pitch, five-inning stint in Tuesday's 7-5 victory.

Holland faces Chicago for the first time since April 7, 2012, and is 0-1 with an 8.10 ERA in three prior starts against the White Sox

-$6,952.90 heading into a new week... I saw things better the last three days... Let's see what today brings

7 Lefties on the bump

Locke-Pirates
Garcia-Cards
Chen-Miami
Pomeranz-Padres
Bumgarner-Giants
Ramos-Texas
Milone-Twins

Locke

Chad Bettis will try to help Colorado forget its latest result while improving to 3-0 for the first time. Bettis (2-0, 3.33 ERA) is starting Monday because the Rockies wanted to give Jorge De La Rosa an extra day to recover from an illness.
Bettis gave up three runs - on a pair of homers - in six innings Wednesday in Cincinnati. He allowed one other hit and walked none in a 6-5 loss.
The right-hander has no record and a 3.00 ERA in two career starts against the Pirates. He gave up two runs in six innings in his lone matchup last season, a 5-4 loss in Denver on Sept. 24.
Pittsburgh left-hander Jeff Locke (0-2, 7.24) will seek to rebound from one of the worst outings of his career. He matched career highs by allowing eight runs and 11 hits in three-plus innings Wednesday in an 8-2 loss in San Diego.
Locke, who had a 2.53 ERA in his first two starts, is 0-1 with a 4.88 ERA in four starts against Colorado. He gave up four runs in 5 2-3 innings in his lone matchup last season, the 5-4 victory Sept. 24.
Pirates shortstop Jordy Mercer, batting .455 in his last five games, is a career .377 hitter against Colorado for his best mark versus any NL team. Josh Harrison is batting .467 in his last eight matchups

Garcia

Jaime Garcia (1-1, 2.70) would appreciate some help from the offense after getting just one run of support in Tuesday's 2-1 loss to the Chicago Cubs. The left-hander allowed two runs with seven strikeouts and four walks in five innings.
"It's not what I want to do," Garcia said. "Way too short and I've got to do a better job than that next time."
That's not usually a problem against the Diamondbacks, as Garcia has won all five of his starts with a 2.51 ERA. He's 3-0 with a 1.62 ERA in the desert.

-$6,952.90

Only have 1 play tonight, it's a long season just won't bet just to bet

1st 5 innings Texas -$115 $805/$700

Fortunately for the Rangers, they're averaging 7.0 runs and batting .301 with 11 homers during a 6-3 stretch against the Yankees (7-10).
Texas enters this three-game set batting .346 while outscoring opponents 24-14 during a four-game home winning streak.
That doesn't bode well for a Yankees rotation that ranks among the worst in baseball with a 5.14 ERA while opponents have hit .290 with 16 home runs.
Michael Pineda was the latest to get hit hard, surrendering seven runs and four homers in five innings of Sunday's 8-1 loss to Tampa Bay.
The Yankees, losers of eight of 11, will now hand the ball to Nathan Eovaldi (0-2, 6.11 ERA). The right-hander had his first quality start of the season Wednesday, allowing three runs and eight hits with seven strikeouts in six innings of a 5-2 loss to Oakland.
Eovaldi's only career start against the Rangers ended in a 5-4 loss with Miami on Aug. 20, 2014, giving up five runs and nine hits in five innings.
He's held Prince Fielder to one hit in five at-bats, but the Rangers slugger is a career .323 hitter with 26 RBIs in 26 meetings against the Yankees. He went 10 of 28 with three homers and 10 RBIs in seven matchups last year.
Cesar Ramos makes his 2016 debut in a spot start in place of Hamels. The journeyman left-hander has started 10 of 251 career games over seven years. He went 2-1 with a 2.75 ERA while all 65 of his appearances came in relief last year with the Los Angeles Angels.
Ramos was 0-1 with a 3.18 ERA in three starts for Triple-A Round Rock.

I lke Tex also and if I wasnt on a 'game count' I would add it to my card.
Eovaldi has struggled in his three outings with an 0-2 record and 6.11 ERA over 17.2 frames.
and Ibelieve Tex can hit him....even with their inconsistent hitting

I've been torn up all day about this game Reds vs. Mets on these stats listed below this game is a total mismatch. But for some unknown reason my gut just has been screaming the Reds win tonight's game. There lineup just came out.
So I'll be making my first bet all season on a game without a lefty on the bump.

1st 5 innings Reds +$160 $400/$640
1st 5 innings over 3.5 +$105 $600/$630
Reds team total over 2.5 -$115 -$1,150/$1,000

Strong starting pitching has the Mets rolling as Syndergaard tries to lift them to their ninth straight win over the visiting Cincinnati Reds on Monday night.
Syndergaard (2-0, 0.90 ERA) has surrendered two runs in 20 innings over his first three starts. He's allowed 15 hits while walking four and striking out 29.
After his latest outing last Monday in which Syndergaard allowed one run while striking out eight in seven innings of a 5-2 win over Philadelphia, Wright drew a curious but perhaps apt comparison
"When you used to play video games as a kid, if you build the player that you want to build, put all the abilities up to like max 10, he's that guy," New York's third baseman told MLB's official website.
Syndergaard, who according to FanGraphs tops the major leagues in average fastball velocity at 98.4 mph, had a pitch leave an imprint of catcher Kevin Plawecki's cross necklace on his chest where it struck him last Monday.
It will be a full week between starts for Syndergaard due to Thursday's off day and Jacob deGrom's return to the rotation Sunday. The right-hander has hardly been thrown off by that change in routine, though, posting a 2.62 ERA with 80 strikeouts in 65 1/3 innings over 10 starts with six or more days' rest.
He'll open a nine-game homestand for the Mets (10-7), who are looking to improve on their 2-4 record in Queens.
While Sunday's 3-2 victory at Atlanta was New York's third straight and eighth in 10 games, Cincinnati (9-10) dropped three of four at home to the Chicago Cubs over the weekend in lopsided fashion.
The Reds were outscored 33-1 in the defeats and no-hit by Jake Arrieta in Thursday's opener. They did manage a 13-5 win Saturday, getting 15 hits, but were held to three in Sunday's 9-0 loss.
The Reds are 1-5 away from home and begin a six-game trip looking to snap an eight-game skid in this series. They've lost 13 of 15 against the Mets, including five of six in New York.
Their two matchups with Syndergaard last season don't evoke much confidence for the next one. They lost both while totaling three runs and 10 hits in 15 2/3 innings, striking out 16 times without drawing a walk.
No current Reds player has an extra-base hit against Syndergaard. Brandon Phillips, Jay Bruce and Eugenio Suarez are the only three with singles, combining to go 3 for 19, while Joey Votto, Tucker Barnhart, Adam Duvall and Billy Hamilton are 0 for 15 in the matchup.
A New York lineup that averaged 6 runs and 11 hits during a 7-2 trip will face Raisel Iglesias (1-1, 3.09). He pitched a season-high 6 2/3 innings during Wednesday's 6-5 win over Colorado, surrendering two runs and striking out eight.
"It's a really good feeling because ... I was working in spring training with the trainer, with the coaches, and I feel really good this season is starting that way," Iglesias said through an interpreter.
While Wright was given the day off Sunday, Yoenis Cespedes was unavailable for the second straight game due to a sore leg. Manager Terry

The bottom line still isn't good but heading in the right direction last three days

7 Lefties on the bump today

Price-Boston -$170
Keuchel-Astros -$130
Hill-A's -$120
Sale-White Sox -$112
Kershaw-Dodgers -$300
De La Rosa-Colorado +$ 120
Finnegan-Reds +$145

Kershaw

Kershaw (2-0, 1.50 ERA) entered the season with a career 8-10 record and 3.36 ERA in April, which is roughly a half run higher than his next highest month of May (2.88) and nearly twice that of July (1.78). After giving up a run and 10 hits with 10 strikeouts in eight innings of Thursday's 2-1 10-inning win in Atlanta, he's a strong start away from completing his best April yet.
Even so, he was critical of his latest outing - or at least part of it - as he tries to better a 1.73 ERA from April 2013

Koehler (1-2, 4.80) had two difficult pitching matchups against the Dodgers and might have deserved two wins. He settled for one and a no-decision with three runs and nine hits allowed in 13 innings.
The victory was a 3-2 final against Kershaw on June 27 in Miami with the right-hander giving up two runs in seven innings.

Sale

Sale 4-0 1.80 ERA has won his first four starts for the first time, though they came against Oakland, Cleveland, Tampa Bay and the Los Angeles Angels - teams that have thus far struggled to manufacture runs.
Still, the left-hander has been dominant. In his last two outings, Sale allowed one unearned run and four hits with no walks over 16-plus innings.
His next challenge is holding down a Toronto team that's scored 25 times in splitting its last four games following Chicago's come-from-behind 7-5 victory Monday. The White Sox (14-6) scored five runs in the seventh to win their fourth straight and for the sixth time in seven contests.
The White Sox are leading the majors with a 1.41 ERA from their bullpen, but Sale has given the relievers plenty of rest by going at least seven innings in each start.
Sale has eaten innings in going 2-1 with a 2.35 ERA in three starts against the Blue Jays (10-11). He's lasted at least seven in each of them and went the distance in his last matchup, a 4-2 win July 6.

Price

Price is 2-0 with a 7.06 ERA so far with the Red Sox (10-9). The highest ERA through four starts in his career isn't that unfathomable, though. The left-hander's 4.20 mark in April is easily his worst of any month.
"I think with power pitchers... (this is) still a building phase of arm strength and overall command, and we may just be seeing that," manager John Farrell said.
Price has gone 2-1 with a 1.89 ERA in three career starts versus Atlanta.

Keuchel

Keuchel (2-2, 3.71 ERA) issued more than three walks once in 33 starts last season, then did so in each of his first two this season. He got a hold of his control while regaining some of last year's form with eight scoreless innings to beat Detroit on April 15, but he struggled again Thursday.
The left-hander allowed six runs and a career high-tying 13 hits - including giving up his first homer of the season -

9 Lefties on the bump today

Gonzalez-Nats
Niese-Pirates
Corbin-DBacks
Kazmir-Dodgers
Nicolino-Miami
Quintana-White Sox
Moore-Tampa
Perez-Texas
Sabathia-Yankees

Perez-Texas

The Rangers (11-10) will counter with Martin Perez (0-2, 4.50), who is getting a fifth chance at his first win of 2016. The left-hander didn't come close Friday, surrendering five runs in 5 2/3 innings of a 5-0 loss to the Chicago White Sox.

He'll hope to atone for a dreadful performance in his only other start against the Yankees (8-11) on July 28. Perez tossed a scoreless first inning before surrendering eight runs and getting the hook while failing to get an out in the second in a 21-5 loss.

This time, Perez is facing a New York club that's batting .218 with eight runs over the last four games. The Yankees were held to six hits Tuesday

Sabathia-Yankees

Since a solid season debut, Sabathia (1-1, 5.28 ERA) has struggled in his past two starts. He's allowed six runs and 16 hits over 9 1/3 innings, losing his only decision.

The left-hander surrendered 11 runs and 16 hits - three homers - in 7 1/3 innings in two starts against the Rangers last year. He's 3-2 despite a 5.79 ERA in his past six starts in Arlington.

Gonzalez-Nats

A 21-game winner in his first season with Washington (14-5) in 2012, Gonzalez (1-0, 1.42 ERA) did not win more than 11 games in each of the next three years but also hasn't experienced a losing season in the nation's capital.

The three earned runs he's allowed are the fewest through his first three starts with the club. Opponents are batting .186 with an on-base percentage of .230 against Gonzalez, who has walked four and owns a 0.89 WHIP

Niese-Pirates

Gray is up against Jonathon Niese, who's been a bit more fortunate to start his first year in Pittsburgh with an 8.10 run-support average. Niese (3-0, 4.24 ERA) got his third straight victory in Friday's 8-7 win in Arizona, though the left-hander gave up four runs and 10 hits in 5 1/3 innings. The Chase Field roof was open, making for some less-than-ideal pitching circumstances, but the same can be said about Coors Field.

In four starts there, Niese has a 7.94 ERA. Mark Reynolds (8 for 15 with two home runs), Nick Hundley (5 for 11) and Gerardo Parra (4 for 9) have all hit him well.

Nicolino-Miami

With originally scheduled starter Jarred Cosart optioned to Triple-A New Orleans, Justin Nicolino was recalled to start in his 2016 debut Wednesday. Nicolino went 5-4 with a 4.01 ERA in 12 starts in his 2015 rookie season.

After losing out on his bid to make the big club out of spring training, the left-hander went 2-2 with a 3.60 ERA for New Orleans.

"We expect him to come up and pitch well," Mattingly said.

Nicolino hopes to fare better than June 26 when he allowed five runs in four innings of a 7-1 loss to the Dodgers

Quintana-White Sox

Quintana (2-1, 1.82 ERA) allowed four hits in seven innings. He ran into trouble in the sixth, but his defense turned the majors' first-ever 9-3-2-6-2-5 triple play.

"Q came out and pitched his butt off, which we love to see," Eaton said.

The left-hander has done that often. His 49 quality starts since 2014 are tied with Sale for fifth in the AL, and he has eight during a stretch where he's gone 4-1 with a 1.63 ERA over his last nine outings.

Quintana has earned a quality start all seven times he's faced the Blue Jays (10-12), going 4-2 with a 1.88 ERA. In his last start against Toronto on July 7, Quintana went eight innings but was done in by Josh Donaldson's fourth-inning homer that was the difference in a 2-1 loss.

He's won all three of his starts with a 0.89 ERA at Rogers Centre. Toronto has dropped five of seven overall and mustered only four hits while scoring its fewest runs of the season Tuesday.

Moore-Tampa Bay

Tampa Bay (10-10) has won three straight and four in a row at Tropicana Field. The Rays are 7-3 since their 3-7 start.

In a matchup of two pitchers who have plenty of experience against the opposing team, Tampa Bay will send Matt Moore to the mound.

Moore (1-1, 3.60 ERA) has seen mixed results in nine career starts against Baltimore, combining for a 1.56 ERA in seven of them and a 11.70 mark in the other two. He tossed seven scoreless innings in his most recent matchup but left with a no-decision in a 4-3 loss Sept. 17.

In his first three starts this season, Moore allowed six runs and 15 hits over 18 1/3 innings while striking out 21. However, in Friday's 6-3 loss at Yankee Stadium, he surrendered eight hits and four runs in 6 2/3 innings.

"He probably wasn't quite as sharp as we've seen him, but he still threw the ball well and gave us a chance to win the ballgame,"

1 Lefty on the bump today

Danks-White Sox

Danks is the highest paid player on the team at $15.75 million this season, but he's lost all three of his starts with a 6.23 ERA. He received his lucrative extension in December 2011 after posting a 4.33 ERA that was his worst since his rookie year, and since signing he's had shoulder surgery, made only nine starts in '12 and has gone 25-47 with a 4.87 ERA.

The left-hander has lost each of his last six starts with a 6.21 ERA and opponents' batting average on balls in play of .358. His control issues caught up with him again last Thursday when he issued five walks and threw 100 pitches in six innings of a 3-2 loss to the Los Angeles Angels

I feel a big Fri coming our way

Santiago

Los Angeles is 16-4 at Texas since 2014, and Santiago has earned four of those wins. The left-hander is 5-0 with a 2.23 ERA in seven career starts at Texas but wasn't at his sharpest in his most recent, allowing five runs in four-plus innings in an 11-10 victory Oct. 3.

Santiago (2-0, 2.70 ERA) gave up three runs in six-plus innings against the Rangers in his season debut April 7 but did not get a decision in a 4-3 win. He's 3-0 with a 2.23 ERA in his last seven overall matchups.

Santiago has allowed two runs over 13 innings in winning his past two starts while registering 17 of his 27 strikeouts. He fanned seven in six innings in Saturday's 4-2 win against Seattle, outdueling Felix Hernandez

Lester

It's uncertain if Kris Bryant will be available Friday when the Cubs look to continue their recent dominance over the visiting Atlanta Braves.

Jon Lester (2-1, 1.98 ERA) allowed two hits and struck out seven in 7 1/3 innings of a 4-0 win at Atlanta in 2015. The left-hander has yielded one run in three of his four starts this season, most recently last Friday over seven innings of an 8-1 victory at Cincinnati.

Nick Markakis and Freddie Freeman combined for seven of Atlanta's 12 hits Thursday, but together are 2 for 15 with seven strikeouts over the past two seasons against Lester

Matz

The two will get their first look at Steven Matz (2-1, 5.40 ERA), and the left-handed hitting Belt has an advantageous matchup despite facing a southpaw. Belt is one of the league's top left-handed hitters against lefties, going 6 for 20 with three extra-base hits, and Matz has allowed left-handed batters to go 6 for 14.

Matz has given up two runs while striking out 17 over 13 1/3 innings in back-to-back wins after being tagged for seven runs in 1 2/3 innings by Miami in his season debut.

Conley

The Marlins haven't won six straight since July 24-29, 2014. Adam Conley (0-1, 5.12 ERA) will try to give them a shot to match that run while winning their third straight over Milwaukee (8-13).

Conley opened Miami's winning streak with Sunday's 5-4 victory at San Francisco, though for the second straight start he tired late. The left-hander was pulled with two outs in the sixth inning and two runners on, each scoring to leave four runs charged to him.

Conley tossed six scoreless innings his previous start against Washington

Rodon

The White Sox had allowed 14 runs in their previous nine games. Rodon (1-2, 4.05 ERA) suffered through his lone poor outing the game prior to that stretch when he allowed five runs while recording one out in a 7-0 loss to the Los Angeles Angels on April 18.

The 23-year-old recovered with his third quality start Saturday, holding Texas to two runs and two hits in 6 2/3 innings of a 4-3 win

Smyly

Smyly could be poised to add to Toronto's strikeout woes with 28 over his last 22 innings. He has fared much better since giving up five runs over 6 2/3 innings in the start versus the Blue Jays earlier this month, posting a 1.23 ERA in three outings since.

The southpaw notched his first win Sunday by yielding a run in seven innings of an 8-1 rout of the New York Yankees

Smyly is 6-2 with a 2.02 ERA in 15 starts against AL East foes with Tampa Bay. He has limited Jose Bautista to a single in seven at-bats

I have a very strong opinion that the Giants will win the series vs Mets.

Both teams playing well Mets winners of 6 in a row. Giants winners of 3 in a row.

Tonight : Peavy vs Matz
Sat: Cain vs de Grom
Sun: Bumgarner vs Syndergaard

The Marlins will be my "key" play tonight winners of 5 in a row. Going on the road to beat the Brewers a team they should beat.
I will be parlaying them with Cubs-Giants

Just awaiting updated prices
