3 Lefties on the bump today, my bankroll is - $9,117.07 my goal this week is to just chip away a little bit each day

Happ-Blue Jays
Rodon-White Sox
Santiago-Angels

Happ-Blue Jays

Happ 1-0 2.25 looks to continue his outstanding stretch after improving to 8-1 with a 1.52 ERA in his last 12 starts dating to last season.
The left-hander allowed only one run in Wednesday's 7-2 home win over the New York Yankees despite allowing seven hits and three walks over six innings.
"If you look back, our starting pitching has been very, very good, for the most part," manager John Gibbons, whose staff is 6-3 with a 3.44 ERA in 13 starts, told the team's official website after Happ's previous outing. "They've always given us a shot."
Happ has gone 1-1 with a 2.88 ERA over his last four starts against the Red Sox, who have yet to face a lefty starter this season.
Boston finished with a season-low four hits as its three-game winning streak ended Sunday. Travis Shaw had one of the highlights with a two-run home run - his first of the season - in the ninth inning and has now knocked in five runs in this series.

Rodon-Santiago

Scioscia gives the ball to Hector Santiago (0-0, 3.95 ERA), who lost his only previous start against his former team Aug. 11 when he gave up three runs over 5 1-3 innings in a 3-0 road defeat. Santiago opened his career with the White Sox, going 8-10 with a 3.41 ERA over 78 games from 2011-13, including 27 starts, before being traded in a four-player deal.
He gave up four runs over 7 2-3 innings without a decision in Tuesday's 5-4 win at Oakland.
Chicago counters with a fellow left-hander in Carlos Rodon (1-1, 1.38), who is off to an impressive start in his first full season. Rodon is 6-3 with a 1.73 ERA over his last 10 games going back to Aug. 11 - when he struck out a career-high 11 over seven innings in a 3-0 win against the Angels.
Rodon scattered three hits over six innings in a 3-0 victory at Minnesota on Wednesday, though he was inefficient, walking five on 107 pitches. "His strength and endurance is something that's going to be a calling card for him, because he can continue on," manager Robin Ventura said. "Right there, he's throwing too many pitches, but as the game's going on you can see him getting stronger."
The White Sox held Los Angeles to 14

Will be keying off of Holland, Wood & Surkamp

Wood

A native of Charlotte, N.C., Wood played for the University of Georgia before the Braves drafted him in 2012. He pitched for minor league affiliates in Rome and Gwinnett while appearing to emerge as a big part of the club's rebuilding plans.

The left-hander went 21-20 with a 3.10 ERA in 86 games with Atlanta before he became one of the key pieces of a 13-player deal that sent him across the country.

"That's where I lived. It'll be fun," Wood told MLB's official website of Tuesday's return. "I was pretty much caught off guard with the whole trade. Everybody likes to think they know what's going on, but obviously you never really know."

Wood (1-1, 4.50 ERA) went 5-6 with a 4.35 ERA for Los Angeles (8-5) last season before getting left out of the playoff rotation, but he's been given another chance to start this season following injuries to Hyun-Jin Ryu and Brett Anderson.

Wood is hoping to put on a show for friends and family after allowing one run and five hits over seven innings in Wednesday's 3-1 home win

Surkamp

The A's send Eric Surkamp (0-1, 4.00) to the mound for his third start. He failed to last five innings in his first two, giving up two runs and throwing 96 pitches in 4 2-3 of a 5-1 loss to the Los Angeles Angels on Wednesday. The left-hander has never faced the Yankees.

The A's have won 18 of the last 26 against New York, though the Yankees took two of three in the Bronx in the teams' last meeting July 7-9

Holland

The Astros handled Derek Holland in his last two starts against them last season, and they'll get another crack at him to kick off this season's series. Holland (1-0, 2.31 ERA) gave up nine runs and 17 hits over 10 2-3 innings in those outings.

The left-hander pitched a solid game last Tuesday, though, allowing four hits - three infield knocks and a soft, broken-bat blooper - through 6 2-3 innings of an 8-0 win at Seattle. It's the only scoreless outing by a Rangers starter this season and comes during a six-game stretch in which starters have a 2.83 ERA.

Holland originally was slated to start Sunday, but the series finale against Baltimore was rained out after the Rangers took two of the first three. Texas played 13 straight days before getting a day off and is scheduled to play 22 of the next 23 days.

7 Lefties on the bump today. I am going very strong with Sale,Locke

Hamels-Texas
Sale-White Sox
Chen-Miami
Locke-Pirates
Pomeranz-Padres
Bumgarner-Giants
Milone-Twins

Sale 2:10PM

Things won't get any easier for the Angels against Sale (3-0, 2.35 ERA), who started 5-0 in 2014 with a no-decision in his fourth start. He fired a two-hitter with nine strikeouts and no walks in Friday's 1-0 victory at Tampa Bay.
"He just seemed to be on his game," manager Robin Ventura told MLB's official website. "I think throwing strikes early in counts, too, you get a guy like him, and you can kind of see the strategy of getting after it early."
Sale is 4-0 with a 1.73 ERA in five starts against the Angels and has limited Albert Pujols to two hits in 15 at-bats and Mike Trout to three in 13. Pujols and Trout combined for six hitless at-bats Tuesday

Locke

Locke will try to improve his control and put aside a horrible record against NL West foes on Wednesday night against the San Diego Padres at Petco Park.
Locke (0-1, 2.53 ERA) allowed three runs in 4 2-3 innings and matched a career high with seven walks in Friday's 8-4 home defeat to Milwaukee. He managed to throw only 51 of 98 pitches for strikes in a game that took three hours and 30 minutes.

6 Lefties on the bump today, in fact some big named ones such as Kershaw,Price,Keuchel
We also have Finnegan,Reds Danks,White Sox Hill,A's

Kershaw -$260

Kershaw has won three NL Cy Young Awards, a league MVP and been a five-time All-Star during a stellar career spanning nine seasons with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Yet, he's never started 3-0.

The left-hander can accomplish that feat in Thursday's decisive finale against the Atlanta Braves at Turner Field.

For as good as Kershaw (2-0, 1.64 ERA) has been, winning his first three decisions has been elusive, though it's probably not a major point of concern for the superstar.

Kershaw has been his usual stellar self while Los Angeles (9-6) won each of his three starts in 2016. He's struck out 20 and walked two over 22 innings. On Friday, Kershaw didn't issue a free pass while yielding two earned runs in seven innings of a 7-3 victory over San Francisco.

Price -$155

Price attempts to remain unbeaten during his brief time with the Boston Red Sox when he faces a few more ex-teammates in Thursday's finale of a three-game series with the visiting Tampa Bay Rays.

After delivering mixed results in his first two starts in a Red Sox uniform, Price (2-0, 4.50) looked every bit the part of an expected ace by holding a formidable Toronto lineup in check Saturday. The coveted offseason free agent struck out nine without a walk while allowing two runs over seven innings in a 4-2 victory for his first Fenway Park win with his new team.

Price, who went 9-1 in 11 starts for the defending division champion Blue Jays after being acquired from Detroit last July, bounced back from surrendering five runs in five innings in Boston's April 11 home opener against Baltimore

Keuchel -$155

Dallas Keuchel was back to his Cy Young form the last time out for the Houston Astros. He hasn't always been sharp in Arlington.
Then again, neither have his Houston Astros of late.

As the left-hander tries to build on his latest performance, he'll look to help the Astros avoid a 10th consecutive road loss to the Texas Rangers in Thursday night's series finale.

In Keuchel's second 2016 start, he allowed three runs, six hits and matched a career high with six walks in 5 2/3 innings of a 3-2 loss at Milwaukee on April 10. Five days later, he found his dominance while yielding five hits and one walk in eight innings of a 1-0 victory over Detroit.

Danks -$120

The numbers for the rotation would be even better if not for Danks' struggles. He owns a 7.94 ERA in a pair of losses after allowing five runs over 6 1/3 innings against Tampa Bay on Saturday
Danks looks to avoid dropping his first three starts for the first time in his career Thursday when the White Sox and Angels conclude a four-game series at U.S. Cellular Field.

Finnegan + $180

That provides a little hope for Finnegan (1-0, 2.04), who's posted a .129 OBA through three starts. He won 9-8 in St. Louis on Saturday despite giving up four unearned runs, four hits and four walks in five innings.

"You're not going to have your best stuff every day, so you're going to have to go out there and you're going to have to battle and give it all you've got for as long you can," Finnegan told MLB's official website.

Finnegan has walked nine in 11 2/3 innings over his last two starts, and the one before the Cardinals was a 5-3 loss at Wrigley Field. He gave up two runs and a hit with five walks over 6 2/3, and the Cubs roster is 1 for 23 against him

Hill-A's +$130

Hill will be up against as he looks to provide length after failing to get through the fifth inning in two of three starts. He yielded three runs in 4 1/3 innings in Friday's 4-2 defeat at Kansas City.

The left-hander pitched for the Yankees in 2014 and started against them with Boston on Oct. 1, giving up two runs in six innings in a 4-1 defeat. McCann has the most experience among New York hitters against Hill, going 1 for 9.

Very tough choices today, not sure want to lay so much juice with Kershaw will just use him in parlays.

Today we have 9 lefties on the bump, in fact we have 3 lefty vs lefty match ups

Lester-Cubs
Kazmir-Dodgers
Gonzalez-Nats

Perez-Texas vs Quintana-White Sox
Niese-Pirates vs Corbin-DBacks
Moore-Tampa vs Sabathia-Yankees

Something you might want to remember. Danks usually gets up Huge at home after a WS loss but not so much after a win. BOL

Kazmir

A couple of cringe-worthy efforts left Kazmir wondering why he deviated from what went so well in his first outing. He'll try to make some adjustments Friday night against the host Colorado Rockies, who send top pitching prospect Jon Gray to the mound for his season debut.
Kazmir allowed one hit in six scoreless innings to beat San Diego on April 5, but he's been awful since. In back-to-back starts against San Francisco, Kazmir gave up 10 runs, 14 hits and three homers while walking five in eight-plus innings.
"I was actually looking at video, just pitches that were not aggressive in the strike zone and four walks, that's a tell right there," Kazmir (1-1, 6.43 ERA) said after Saturday's 4-3 loss. "That's really frustrating, just not attacking hitters. Just getting out of my game, I think that was the main thing that I saw."
The left-hander will try to bounce back in a park and against a lineup with which he's unfamiliar. Kazmir's only start against the Rockies was at Coors Field in 2007, and the only batter he's faced more than six times - Ryan Raburn - isn't a regular starter.

Lester

Lester (1-1, 2.21) is coming off an impressive performance of his own, albeit in a losing effort. The veteran left-hander yielded four hits - one a solo homer to Nolan Arenado - and fanned 10 over 7 1/3 innings of Sunday's 2-0 defeat to Colorado.
'At the end of the day, I didn't execute one pitch and it ended up costing us,' he said.
Lester wasn't as sharp when facing Cincinnati on April 11. He allowed three runs in six innings and was on the hook for a loss before Chicago rallied late for a 5-3 win.
He was far better in his final 2015 regular-season outing, holding the Reds to a run and three hits and notching nine strikeouts in a 10-3 win

Gonzalez

Gonzalez (0-0, 0.69 ERA) has yielded one run and seven hits through 13 innings against Atlanta and Philadelphia.
Showing better control under new pitching coach Mike Maddux has benefited the former 20-game winner, who has walked only three batters after issuing 3.54 per nine innings last year - fourth-worst in the NL

Niese vs Corbin

Corbin (1-1, 2.75 ERA) will become the second left-handed starter to face Pittsburgh (8-8) after he allowed three runs - one earned - over 6 2/3 innings with seven strikeouts to earn Sunday's 7-3 victory over the Padres that started the Diamondbacks' five-game win streak. He threw over 100 pitches for the first time in 19 starts since reconstructive elbow surgery that forced him to miss the 2014 season.
"I felt strong," he said. "Everything's really great. My arm's feeling good."
Corbin's only start against the Pirates came as rookie in 2012, and no Pittsburgh hitter has more than three at-bats versus him.
The Pirates went 5-1 against the Diamondbacks last season, but 11 of their 27 RBIs were by hitters no longer on the club - Pedro Alvarez and Neil Walker.
Pittsburgh's John Jaso is batting .429 during a career-high 11-game hitting streak, although there's no guarantee the lefty-swinging first baseman will be in the lineup versus Corbin.
The Pirates avoided a three-game sweep with Thursday's 11-1 rout at San Diego. Gerrit Cole went six innings for his first win and Josh Harrison had a pair of RBI singles as part of an 11-hit attack.
'Between him and Cole, they carried the load for us tonight," manager Clint Hurdle said.
Hurdle will hope his team improves to 4-0 in starts by Jonathon Niese (2-0, 3.50) on Friday after the newcomer pitched seven innings of three-hit ball in last Saturday's 5-0 victory over Milwaukee.
The left-hander is 3-3 with a 5.93 ERA in seven starts against the Diamondbacks, including 1-2 with a 6.26 ERA in four on the road.
Welington Castillo is 3 for 13 off Niese and the catcher is expected back in the lineup after he had Thursday

Moore vs. Sabathia

New York fell to 0-4 against left-handed starters after being held to two runs and three hits by Rich Hill through six innings of Thursday's 7-3 loss to Oakland, completing the Athletics' first three-game sweep in the Bronx since 2006. Hill registered 10 of 14 strikeouts by A's pitchers.
The Yankees face another tough southpaw in Moore (1-0, 2.95 ERA), who fanned 10 over 6 1/3 innings in Sunday's 3-2 win over the White Sox. After going 1-4 with an 8.42 ERA over his first eight starts since returning from Tommy John surgery last July, the 2013 All-Star is 3-0 with a 2.00 ERA and 44 strikeouts in 45 innings over his last seven.
'I do feel strong right now, which is something that the last 24 months has not been a word I've been using lot,' he said. 'I still feel like there's a lot of things I'm working on.'
Moore is 3-1 in six Yankee Stadium starts but owns a 5.63 ERA over the past five, issuing 15 walks in 24 innings.
He'll face a lineup that's received little of late from its heart. Mark Teixeira is 3 for 33 with one RBI over his last 10 games and Alex Rodriguez is batting .156 after going 0 for 2 Thursday.
Jacoby Ellsbury did record three hits Thursday and Brett Gardner, 8 for 17 over his last five, expects to play after not starting the last two games due to a stiff neck.
CC Sabathia (1-1, 5.06) makes his third start for New York and looks to bounce back from a shaky effort Saturday against Seattle, when he allowed three runs and seven hits in 4 1/3 innings of a 3-2 loss.
The Rays have been a challenging assignment for the veteran lefty, as he's 6-13 with a 4.31 ERA in 27 starts since joining the Yankees in 2009. Sabathia did defeat Tampa Bay last May and tossed 6 2/3 scoreless innings at Tropicana Field in a no-decision on September 14.
Evan Longoria, who homered off Price, is batting .375 with six home runs against Sabathia. Logan Forsythe is 6 for 15 with two home runs

Perez vs. Quintana

Runs could come at a premium in this contest since Chicago's Quintana (1-1, 2.55 ERA) is 3-1 with a 1.84 ERA in his last eight starts while Perez (0-1, 3.44) is 2-0 with a 2.25 ERA in two career outings versus the White Sox.
A matchup of bullpens could be a mismatch since Chicago (10-6) sports a relief ERA of 1.62 while Texas is at 5.59.
That puts more an onus on Perez, who may be up to the task even though the Rangers (10-6) have lost his last five starts with three this season. He surrendered three runs in six-plus innings in Friday's 11-5 loss to Baltimore.
No White Sox hitter has more than one hit against Perez, with slugger Jose Abreu 0 for 4 with three strikeouts.
That's bad news for Abreu, who is hitting .190 with a team-high 18 strikeouts. He is batting .108 with one extra-base hit and 11 strikeouts in his last 10 games.
"I think he's chasing pitches, trying to do too much," manager Robin Ventura said. "When you're hitting .190, you're a .190 hitter and there's a reason why you're doing it and it's probably because you're chasing pitches.
"But is he better than that, do we expect more out of him? Absolutely. We have confidence that he's going to do that. But as soon as he stops chasing it, he's going to be just fine."
Abreu isn't the only struggling hitter for Chicago, with Todd Frazier (.206), Jimmy Rollins (.217), Austin Jackson (.170) and Avisail Garcia (.146) all off to slow starts. Frazier hit his second homer in three games in Thursday's 3-2 defeat to the Los Angeles Angels.
"The bottom line is nobody wants to fail and everybody wants to succeed and we've all been through it," Frazier said. "Early in this year there's a couple guys, including myself, that aren't hitting up to their standards and we all know that and we're working our tail off and we'll be fine in the long run."
The Rangers have won a season-high four straight after completing a three-game sweep of arch-rival Houston with Thursday's 7-4 home victory.
'A sweep of anybody is, obviously, anytime during the year is big,' manager Jeff Banister said. 'It doesn't matter the name on the front of the jersey.'
Ian Desmond, who entered Thursday with baseball's worst slugging percentage among qualifying hitters at .151, delivered his first homer with Texas with a three-run blast. He is showing signs of improvement by going 4 for 11 in the series.
'I'm believing in my swing," he said. "That's the stuff that I'm looking for. I'm not necessarily worried about hits.'
Shortstop Elvis Andrus is batting .429 during an eight-game hitting streak.
These teams split six meetings last year. The Rangers have dropped 10 of 14 meetings at Chicago.

Only 5 lefties on the bump today

Matz-Mets
Snell-Tampa
Happ-Toronto
Rodon-White Sox
Santiago-Angels

Matz

Matz (1-1, 7.27 ERA) gave up seven runs and could not get out of the second inning in his first start versus Miami on April 11, but bounced back nicely his second time out in Cleveland, scattering three hits and striking out nine over seven innings in a 6-0 win.
"Honestly, I didn't feel any different," said Matz, who shaved more than 30 runs off his ERA from 37.80. "Last time, I felt really good out of the gate. Today, I felt good out of the gate. I was just able to carry it onto the field."
Matz beat the Braves the only time he faced them, yielding a run over five innings in his fourth career start Sept.

Snell

The 23-year-old with plenty of promise gets the ball for the Tampa Bay Rays in this matchup of AL East rivals.
Snell was slated to start for Triple-A Durham on Friday, but those plans changed when Saturday's scheduled starter - Erasmo Ramirez - was forced into relief duty in a 12-8 victory over Boston on Thursday. With the Rays (7-9) already stacking their rotation with left-handers for this series, manager Kevin Cash felt it was the perfect time to get a glimpse of who they hope is a potential future ace.
'I liked the sound of pitching tomorrow,' said Snell prior to Friday's series opener.

Happ

Happ has delivered three solid starts in his return to the Blue Jays. Happ earned his second straight win by limiting Boston to a run and four hits over seven-plus innings on Monday.
Happ has had past success against Oakland, 1-3 against left-handed starters thus far. He is 3-0 with a 2.01 ERA in five starts and defeated the A's twice with Seattle last season.
Josh Reddick is 1 for 9 with four strikeouts against Happ but owns a .323 average with seven home runs in 17 games at Rogers Centre. Marcus Semien is 7 for 10 with a home run off Happ but just 3 for 26 on the road this season.
After halting a six-game skid in Toronto on Friday, Oakland hopes to give Chris Bassitt (0-0, 2.79) some additional support. The right-hander has yielded two earned runs and eight hits in 14 innings over two consecutive no-decisions in which the A's have scored three runs with him on the mound.

Rodon

Rodon (1-2, 4.73 ERA) gave up two runs and 10 hits in 13 innings over his first two starts, then allowed five runs, six hits and walked two in one-third of an inning in Monday's 7-0 loss to the Los Angeles Angels. It was the shortest non-injury related start for the White Sox (11-6) since Neal Cotts recorded one out Aug. 28, 2003.
'Just challenge guys. That's something I can learn from," Rodon told MLB's official website. "Just go up there and throw the ball. See if you can hit it. See how far you can hit this one, if you can hit it at all.
"You have to say, 'forget about it,' and just see what you are made out of and challenge those guys if your stuff is not working."
The left-hander walked six over two starts against the Rangers as a rookie in 2015, but was 1-0 with a 2.25 ERA.

Santiago

Cruz is batting .333 in nine road games and has five RBIs in the last two. However, he's 2 for 10 against Hector Santiago (1-0, 2.61).
The Angels left-hander looks to build on a stellar outing Monday, when he allowed two hits and struck out 10 over seven innings of a 7-0 road victory over the Chicago White Sox.
"That was the best stuff I've seen Hector have since he's been with us,' Los Angeles manager Mike Scioscia said of Santiago, who was acquired in a December 2013 trade that included the White Sox and Arizona.
Santiago went 1-0 in two 2015 starts against the Mariners, allowing one run over seven innings of each.
While Trout is hitting .354 with four homers, three doubles and two triples against Hernandez, Albert Pujols is batting .208 with 13 strikeouts in 53 at-bats when facing the Mariners' ace.
