Baltimore's last 50 games of offense -

11, 2, 9, 2, 5, 7, 5, 7, 10, 3, 10, 6, 8, 5, 7, 1, 1, 5, 7, 11, 1, 8, 8, 1, 1, 5, 6, 5, 13, 7, 3, 10, 3, 4, 5, 3, 4, 9, 9, 7, 8, 5, 6, 11, 11, 3, 16, 3, 2 & 11 run totals.

_8 totals of 0-2 runs.
_8 totals of 3-4 runs.
34 totals of 5+ runs (68.0%)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Baltimore has gone 74 games without posting consecutive Under results. They are 49-20-5 to Over during this period (Unders rate of just 27.0%), and are 18-0-2 to Over off their last 20 Under results.

Since July the 6th, the Chicago Cubs are...

- 25-2 SU in games which they've scored at least 3 runs (20-7 to Over)

- 0-11 SU in games which they've scored 2 runs or less (10-1 to Under)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Chicago's last 27 games of all-or-nothing offense -

10, 6, 2, 2, 9, 6, 7, 7, 11, 0, 5, 8, 0, 11, 11, 3, 3, 6, 10, 8, 11, 6, 1, 9, 5, 1 & 3 run totals.

_6 totals of 0-2 runs
_3 totals of 3-4 runs
18 totals of 5+ runs (66.6%)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Capping a side for their games has been as straight forward as simply concerning yourself with how their offense will go.

Since July the 21st, the Texas Rangers are...

- 10-3 SU in games which they've scored 6+ runs (10-2-1 to Over)

- 2-14 SU in games which they've scored 0-5 runs (9-7 to Under)

Since the All-Star break(ASB), Florida is...

12-5 SU off a loss
3-12 SU off a win

...but only 4-4 SU off their last 8 losses after initially going 8-1 SU.

Their performances off a win since the ASB have stayed steady (at no time have they won more than 2 straight), but their performances off a loss are progressively getting worse.

Prior to the ASB, they averaged 4.86 runs/game, whereas since the ASB they've averaged 3.97 runs/game. Mirroring this offensive decline is the performance of 2 key players -

Dan Uggla
pre-ASB: .286 avg, hitting 1 HR every 3.52 games started
post-ASB: .207 avg, hitting 1 HR every 8.00 games started

Hanley Ramirez
pre-ASB: .311 avg, hitting 1 HR every 4.04 games started
post-ASB: .252 avg, hitting 1 HR every 7.75 games started

Obviously their heavy Over ways pre-ASB have taken a downward turn -

pre-ASB: O/U 54-32-9 .... 33.7% Unders
post-ASB: O/U 14-19 ..... 57.5% Unders

Hopefully the Yanks get shut out today, I believe BC or somebody has a crazy stat on how they respond off a shutout.

First glance I like the Jays and that's about it.

I didn't ever think we'd see the Giants -220 at any point this year. . . WOW.

In San Francisco's last 17 losses they are 0-17 when given the +1.5 run line and additionally 4-40 in their last 44 losses.

In Cincinnati's 14 August losses they are 1-13 when given the +1.5 run line.

Despite going 9-9 in their last 18 games against left-handed starters, Florida's lack of run production has been consistently poor. In 17 of the 18 games, the opposing starters have tossed 101 innings giving up only 32 runs (2.85 ERA). Whether or not Florida wins seems to rest completely on their starting pitching and the opponent's relief pitching since Florida has tapped out at 3 runs against the lefty starter in 17 of those 18 games (2, 0, 3, 2, 2, 1, 2, 2, 3, 1, 3, 2, 2, 0, 2, 2, 3). The one exception was the 7 runs scored in 1.2 innings against the turbulent Jorge De La Rosa who couldn't find the strike zone.

Total runs scored by both teams in Liz's last 10 starts:

8, 9, 15,13, 15, 12, 21, 13, 11, 17 (last start)

Away, Home

Also, I'm seeing BAL +161 right now.

KC at +155 is a steal that i can't even understand right now due to Bannister's home splits

..other leans are the BAL & BOS overs, NYY -130, CHW RL +135

not sure what you see in Bannister, even at home.

KC is 0-4 in his last 4 home starts as Bannister has given up 17 runs in 20.2 innings (7.57 ERA)

KC in a 2-12 stretch, both wins coming by a mere run and their last 3 wins have come by one run.

Bannister beat Detroit earlier in the year in the second game of the season, but he has come nowhere near that performance since.

Detroit swept them in KC last time.

KC's lineup is hideous.

This will be the third time in like two weeks that Toronto has faced the Byrdman.

Even odder is it will be the 3rd straight time Byrd faced Toronto. As in his last 3 starts read @ Tor , Vs Tor , @ Tor not beyond seeing him three times....

Think I may have to take Boston they didnt exactly figure Byrd out the 2nd time .....

Anyone feeling Maddux tomorrow? Phils haven't been hitting that well lately, and Maddux's shit record didn't have a whole lot to do with how he pitched exactly. . . I can see LAD putting up a lot more for him than SD ever could, and the Phils continue their lack of offensive output. Thoughts?

Leans :

Nats +1.5 RL-cant fade Cubs athome vs a LHSP but Lannans road record so tough but Hannahan did go 2 innings today . So thinking about it . Really Marquis because of CHI success is the most likely SP to fail ...just a thought not sure how serious I will entertain this.

Philly ML- Payback for the 4 game sweep and would think Maddux on extended rest here like 7 or 8 days but not certain.. LAD did not look good vs COL.

Mets ML / Under - Johan ...Stros struggles vs LHSP and Oswalt looking better each time...no pen just scares me though so maybe 1st 5 inn UND?? maybe even 1st 5 ML

ATL ML - they were sweept but didnt play that badly @ Shea. Wainright off the DL was supposed to close but the plan changed I guess. Lohse on deck vs a now struggling Campillo puts more emphasis on this game..especially with reyes vs Looper on Sunday ...best chance to win one for the ATL...

FLA ML : marlins hit somewhat better away bs LHSP then at Pro Player . Unit has not fared well as BIG CHALK or ROAD CHALK. Dbacks starting to roll now though...Marlins limping off consecutive losses..win or slaughter here IMO

Yanks - 1.5 and Over - Moose has struggled vs Balt but has been on a roll. Liz could be trouble for NYY have to check if they faced him yet ...

redSox ML- Payback for the fenway beatdowns and Marcum just beat them. Crazy but Byrd L3 starts for him all vs Jays in 2 weeks time...want to see who BOS has in there lineup and they have sucked in DOMES now that I think bout it

Would LOVE to fade Bannister but DET on the road vs a RHP I can pay that price especially with Verlander nowehere near dominant

WSox- Rays off a tough series , EJack can struggle with command and WS patient , Rays away vs a LHSP can be trouble although Aybar has been awesome , plus off a tough series vs LAA..

over 8.5@ LAA / Minny - Both pens working often this week and both lineups hit well vs LHSP,,,,,if its 3-3 after 6 inn good chance we see 4-4 later in the game.....

Tough spot for him IMO. He just lost 1-0 vs them @ Home as a POD while LAD swept Philly in 4 games out in LAD . Think Philly is going to want this one bad as in emphasize it more . Especially losing a gamein the standings today....

I take Myers, Moyer and Hamels seriously. they are not pitching. On 6 or more rest Greg has a 3.20 era. Playing with a garbage team he is 10-10 last 20 and 4-4 away. We are getting down to a serious point where the best team usually imposes their will. Not seeing Philly as a best team.. Dodgers are 11-9 last 20 away same as Philly at home but it seems to me the Dodgers have played better teams. Kendrick at home is 6-5. far from dominant, A lot of Philly stats seem --old to me. The present team just playing and hitting bad. Dodgers 6-2 last 8 at the site. Nut is a lot more tolerant than me. After his last 2 road starts very hard to play Kendrick anywhere.
By the way in the LA-Colorado series it seems to me Colorado actually played very well. Good series to prepare the Dodgers.

Yankee game may be too hard to bet a side. Many strong arguments against the Yankees but---the playoffs are probably impossible. Moose certainly going to get everything they have and that is hard to bet against.

Kendrick has been terrible . Just situational its tough and I could see Philly paying back the sweep to be honest . LAD has lost close games on the road @ SFG and @ STL past few away series . Hamels will ge his revenge vs Kershaw ...

COL did play well but still doesnt see LAD as having played well . LAD made 4 errors yesterday , let a 4 -3 game get out of hand in the 8th , lost a 3-0 lead then blew a 3-3 game in the 9th , should have had an easy win today and barely got it. Not good signs.

Maddux wasnt on as long as rest I expected . Though never like a SP facing the same team in consecutive starts especially guys who lack velocity . So thats a negative still IMO....

Feliz is back taking Brunlett out of the equation....

Truth is Philly is not hitting but LADs pen is nothing special either . Just think home field might worth enough to blindly play Philly in Games 1 and 2......nothing strong here at least yet

One thing that hasn't changed for Kendrick is the insane run support he gets, something Philly has kept up even through their most shittiest of offensive stretches this season (the present one is hardly their first) - 3 runs or less support in just 3 of his last 22 starts, overall average of 6.18 runs/game.

Would only lay runs or fade Yanks on the ML even ARL if available ...they dont beat good teams and they dont beat good pitchers ...Moose never has won 20 and that is of great importance to him and would love nothing better then to do it 2008 when he was supposedly finished . He has had issues vs Balt for whatever reason whether its his fault or not the stats are ugly . With Guthrie on Saturday would have interest in NY here . The crazy part is the wild card isnt that far out of reach for them. Being 6 out . Even as a fan if they make it awesome and if they dont well there are just more important things in life to worry about. Yanks have 3 vs Boston next week and finish the season with 3 vs Boston. Would only say they are finished if that last series comes and they are not within 3 games ...Pretty TOUGH schedule for them ..Boston , TB ,:shake: Wsox , LAA and even Tor and Balt poise issues....

Also a note on San Frans offense -

6 times in their last 8 games scorers of 4+ run totals. Prior to that they needed 20 games in order to record their previous 6 totals of 4+ runs.

And 4 times in their last 7 games scorers of 5+ runs. Prior to that they needed 22 games in order to record their previous 4 totals of 5+ runs.

Nice find there bro.

I'm eying the SD run line. Baek is a road pitcher but SD blows on the road so I don't know. LOVING the yanks team total to go over vs Liz. If the Orioles hold true to form then they'll have a couple more overs in a row coming up but the moose is a little intimidating IMO.

Sports Nut: Did you watch the Moose in his last start? He got the win but was absolutely pounded in the 1st inning by the Royals. He may be on a roll but Balt is a good hitting team & they should enjoy what the Moose throws imo. This game imo is very similar to the Yanks/kc game on Sunday, the Yanks will hit Liz just like they did Bannister but Balt bats will do more damage than KC did, Moose being -175 is silly.

Any thoughts on Nats and CUbs?

I am really starting to lean towards the nats due to the pitching match up, and the +260 aint so bad either.

Guillen also has his boys ready for every home game knowing that Minnesota is on such a horrible road stretch. I think the ChiSox view the next few weeks as their time to really pull away and win the division.

Lannan 1st5?

rarely play the 1st half bet but can see the argument here..

Marquis is an interesting guy.. In 2006 with the Cardinals, even though he pitched OK down the stretch, was left off the playoff roster.. Cards, as we know won the WS.. Could see the exact same scenario playing out this year for Marquis.

Blue Chip: I have been fading the A's no matter what the line is for the last 4 weeks. I have been fding the Reds since Griffey left. Have not been fading th Nat's, sure wish I did(1-12 last 13). FYI I have not had to -300 during the fade of these teams, Reds have been favored in some on the games & have often layed less than 150 fading the A's. The fde of the Reds & A's has been $$$$ & will continue to be.

How did you fade the Reds yesterday when the Cubs were -320, runline?

Randy Johnson has recorded 8 consecutive quality starts while logging 52.2 innings. During this span his ERA is 2.24 with a .90 WHIP. The Big Unit has struck out 44 batters while walking only 4. Sanchez is more than capable of limiting the Diamondbacks.

Florida has played Arizona 6 times this season and the result has been 5-0-1 to the under. (FLA 4:3, ARI 6:2, FLA 3:1, FLA 4:0, FLA 3:1, FLA 3:2)

Florida - Arizona under 9 -112

Have to acknowledge and credit TSIZZLE here . He was correct about the youngsters providing a spark as I thought on a bad team it might take a week or two to get comfortable . SF 5-2 L7 . The blackholes are basically gone and the youngsters with vets like Winn , Rowand , Molina , guess Lewis is a SFvet now they have some capable hitters not the type you really on to stand alone but a few of them hit and it makes life easier for eachother..also Aurilia......

:shake:Good job TSizzle !

I am reading Dirk Hayhurst will start for the Padres. Lannan has been pure gold plus .5 on the road this season.

Your correct bro , that slipped by mind last night thinking they had cruised to a win w/o recalling what happened.

Not sure how to view that Moose has done that a few times this season . The instant offense in the b1st made it easier for him the rest of the way. I know off the top of my head happened @ Minny and @ Houston where he then settled down afterwards . makes the 1st inn YES prop a decent option when he pitches or opponent 1st score. Minny dont recall the circumstances but Houston recall Carlos Lee hitting a 3 run HR in the 1st and little afterwards. Think Minny may have had a 4 spot ....

Like I said to Tuck only ways to play NYY from here on out seem to be -1.5 RL and fade on the ML maybe even ARL. Even at a high ML price I would prefer the RL on NYY I think...

Have to look at this more I bit yesterday on NY as big dogs and we know how that worked out ..if it wasnt for my stupidity I would have been 2-0 going into that game with NY in that series. Wasnt sure NY would win game 1 but knew it would be close so played NYY +1.5 and ML when really should have just played ML , then went -1.5 with Pettitte and really there were warning signs not to play NY vs Halladay outside of the obvious such as a chance to paste Tor with Pettitte dealing and wound up just 5-1 win...

Let ya know if I change anything view wise...Little suprised at Moose's struggles versus Balt recently because while they have a solid lineup they really dont have any great hitters just a bunch of seasoned hitters....clearly Moose isnt a pitcher who relies on his stuff to excel .....maybe Liz will be a headache ifhe falls into the unseen RH category vs NYY ...they are so pathetic my Yanks ! World Class UNDERACHIEVERS ...it should be the pitching failing and its still alway sthe offense...great to see Jeter get to 300ish though just because he is always there nice to see him keep in line or get in line iwth career numbers to prolong his consistent streak of seasons....Now that I think about it Jeter really is so much like Pete Rose . Plays the game the right way although Jeter doesnt play with Rose reckless abandonment . I guess I recall being a kid oh some 25 years ago and turning around Rose's baseball card and thinking this is guy is considered great when looking at his stats ?? Sort of like jeter when you compare him to what the other SS did offensively in his ERA he doesnt blow them away and always seems to be someone or two having better years......but those guys namely Nomar and even Tejada have failed to maintain there level of success for whatever reason...

Might go 1st score of game Nats rather then Nats 1st 5 . Cubs vs LHSP just scare me especially at home would doubt they trailed more then 2 or 3 times ....

Also remember its Friday and that traditionally means UNDER for CUBS...

Lannan was good vs Lilly in a rare solid home start(Nats scrapped by 2-0)......lineups please !

Also remember while Cubs paste LH at home last I checked just one time they scored less then 4 runs which was a 4-3 loss to Estes I believe the Nats have been DISGUSTING away vs RHSP winning just 3 times since defeating Owings at Arizona......

I'll be the first to say no value in Cubs at 300 but when you look at the numbers and erase the names of the SP there is actually a great chance Cubbies win and by great I mean greater then the IMPLIED 75% of -300.....

Look at Nats away record even when Lannan starts and see there"closer" Hannahan went 2 innings yesterday and would doubt he could do more then 9th today if needed. Which is a bad pen for the most part ...Cordero lost to injury , Rauch traded , Ayala who boomed traded...probably someone else missing I forget.

Look at nats away vs RHSP all season and past 20 occurrences then look at Cubs at home vs LHSP , in these Friday day games , with Marquis in the day ......

hard to see much value in Nats chances of winning......Not that I dont understand why we would look to take Nats 1st 5 inn ML or +1.5 RL at + money....its just a tough place to get a win and your looking at a bad spot for a TERRIBLE TEAM vs the BEST in the NL.....

:shake:What to do here ??:36_11_6::cheers:

Just realized the Cubs total was 12 ....still might lean UNDER....Marquis ex-Cards pitcher so we know he relies heavily on his 2 seam fastball and tries to get grounders .....Lannan off the top of my head not so sure but think he is a flyball pitcher but pure guess.....

LOL, good stuff, SN. Well shit I already booked the Nats 1st 5...so I'm riding that out. That number just seems outrageous to me.

no4thing scary in was lineup.... i wouldlove to runlline but at -150 no value

Thanks guys....

Why Cubs arent using Edmonds in some capacity I am not sure ...put DeRosa at 2nd for Cedeno...Jimbo just has the magic stick this year in Day Games & while Lannan is LH dont recall him being Steve Carlton or Randy Johnson either....

Wash- Guz good sign , No Flores not great sign but Nieves has hit some , no Kearns for Langerhans as much as it pains be probablya downgrade , Bonafacio over Anderson Hernandez who was hitting the past 2 games...

Wind out to Left at like 15 MPH....yikes....

Off topic but saw in it the recap. Since 2007 started Phillies are 10-42 when they score 3 runs or less !!! Which also happens to be 41% of there games since they lead or are near the top in runs scored for the NL since then thats another example of what BC has been posting ....a team with extreme runs scoreds game to game...no consistency really except lately just not scoring....

Basically Nats lineup is weaker then expected and with the wind blowing out do want to go to war with slap hitters or sluggers ?

Cant find the value in Wash ...cant get interested in Cubs -1.5 ...and with the wind out so strong have to think about the over as Cubs are 4-1 Over at home with 11 / 11.5 totals which also means since they are 4-1 in that spot chances are Cubs do walk over them. Reading about the NATS win they acted like they won Game 7 of the WS after yesterdays win...

I couldn figure a play here ...winds out strong so went over ...Lannan is tough on the road and in day starts but has had some issues on extra rest though it appears because they came at home . He has bounced back after terrible starts so far . Marquis hasnt pitched in awhile nearly 10 days and recall he was fine vs SFG in a spot around the break . He also prefers day games and extra rest...but again the wind is such an issue @ Wrigley and Cubs have ben great at takind advantage from what I recall......

As of now : Over 11.5 1u , 1st inn score Yes 1/2 unit and 1st score of game nats +105 1u ....clearly rooting for Nats to score in the top 1st . Hopefully a rain delay and long layoff for MArquis plus the wind helps me out....
