I would like to thank the books for this -130 on Beckett tommorrow vs. DARELL RASNER. Thank you.

I'm very wary of the chalk tomorrow. Santana is only -135 against Happ when the Phillies are coming off a long road trip? Fishy.

I like Detroit period. They've scored lots of runs against Seattle this season.

Over in Baltimore.

Giants.

Let's fire this bad boy up too. Anxious to hear some thoughts on the holiday card.

Over in NY, Schreiber behind the dish and Girardi ripped the team a new asshole. They come stacked and loaded. Beckett will give his fair share.

yeah this card sucks at 1st glance ...

might roll with Colorado again now 9-3 at home vs LHSP . Maybe Hudson and ATL ...maybe WSox with Buerhle......

Like I said in a different thread -130 for Beckett vs. Rasner seems like a gift.

Outisde chance BOS could sweep this series. Saturday is likely to be a wild one/toss-up. And Sunday Joba walk-a-thon Chamberlain faces Sox patience at the plate.

There's a Gorzelanny 7-0 to Over on the road alert for Friday.

I think it is better to be 33 than 38. So I will bet Livian. Probably a few other reasons.

Mets last 15 games of all-or-nothing offensive.

7, 1, 3, 2, 0, 8, 15, 0, 2, 3, 1, 7, 7 & 11 runs.

8 totals of 0-3 runs.
0 totals of 4-6 runs.
6 totals of 7+ runs.

With Happ going, the likeliest grouping the Mutts supply runs from is....

I'm definitely going to be on the over. The Amusins have hit the ball well lately. The Phillies that matter are also starting to hit. The only reason I can think of why the Mets aren't a bigger favorite is because they expect Santana to get touched up some.

Early game....Was/Cin....i would rather play the UNDER 9.5..small
The Line seem odds...

Bergmen L game 7ip 6 hits 1 er
Arroyo L game 6 IP 5 hits 1 er

WAS are 1-7 in Bergmanns last 8 starts.

Under is 10-1 in CIN last 11 Fri. games.
Under is 7-2-1 in Arroyos last 10 Fri. starts.
Under is 6-2 in Bergmanns last 8 on grass.

I'm looking hard at the Mil over tomorrow. I put down my reasons in my thread about Seattle, should have put it here. Would like some feedback to see if I'm missing something, any input would be appreciated.

Seriously, i wonder how much Alt RUN Line on PITTS pay ??Got to wait till the line open in the morning. Pitts -1.5 +275 ...I think....small play on this one...I think they will kick the shit out of MiLW

Over in NY, Schreiber behind the dish and Girardi ripped the team a new asshole. They come stacked and loaded. Beckett will give his fair share.

I'm very tempted to start an Over result chase for this series now a first game Under is in the books. ESPN Sunday nighter's are on a record (by my stats) 6 game Under streak, so if this series took 3 Unders into that game, you'd have a very strong impulse for an Over result. Stat wise Saturday looks the likeliest Over game.

I tend to stay away from Boston & Yanks games...UNpredictable !! When in doubt just ride the streak....

beckett at -117 at pinny hmm something seems fishy.

I just don't understand this line, it's perplexing the shit out of me. I understand this is the biggest rivalry in sports, BUT Beckett is 100x better than Rasner, Boston's bats looked good tonight meanwhile the Yankees looked like the Padres vs. a lefty Lester. They now face the most-dominant right-handed pitcher in the league IMO. Boston just came off a difficult sweep in Tampa Bay, and I may seem repetitive but Darrell F'n Rasner will get spanked by the Boston lineup. Baseball may be the one sport where home-field is not THAT important, especially when Boston plays in NY ALL THE TIME. I don't understand it. Gift or Trick. Well fuck trick me I'm riding the SOX.

Rasner at home 26 IP for 6 ERs. He sucks on the road, clearly a home body.

Beckett had 1 respectable start vs the Yankees last season (at Fenway).

Yanks at home off being blanked, after scoring 18 runs?
Sox 1-5 last 6 roadies?

Cap - I gave you a response about a "going-out" bet in the Thursday discussion.

Thansks BC. and im gonan be "busy" all do tomororw so hopefully I can lay off till saturyda but will give it a seeirous look:shake:

Youi were right touday on the over for the mostr part besides yanks bats not showing up. :whip:

Need s leep gl 2moromo fellas.

-Washington +144
Bergman very good lately. last 3 starts ERA 1,35 and that were games against AL teams (LAA, Orioles, Twins). I will take him for this price. No matter what.Only Bergman must start option.

-Rockies(-1) +114
Reynolds is pretty solid lately. OLSEN is 1-2 when starting against COLORADO with an ERA of 9.88 and a WHIP of 2.048. And Rockies are playnig better right now.

-Red Sox -117
This line looks solid. Beckett is Beckett and on other side even if Rasner has home ERA 2,08, his last three ERA is 6,6 and with WHIP 1,933.

-Texas +120
Texas is scoring machine. They had one day off and Orioles are coming to this game after yesterday loss.

wsox

If any1 has thoughts on the games above hit me up

My normal observation is, when a team has a long winning streak come to an end, the 2nd loss away from that streak usually isn't long in coming. CWS have had 3 previous 5+ game winning streaks this season & on all 3 occasions once they had a loss to end the streak, they lost the following game as well.

won 5 -> 0-2
won 8 -> 0-2
won 7 -> 0-2
won 7 -> 0-1 so far

If Beckett wins today that will improve his record on the road this year to a Full 50%. What could go wrong. You know Bronson has been very unlucky in home day games. Might have to repeat a bet which annoys me.

Best bet on the board today is the Baltimore Orioles to beat Texas, which goes against most people on here. Baltimore has been a much better team than people have given them credit for, and Jeremy Guthrie should be able to keep the Rangers bats quiet on the road. Slight concern regarding the Orioles bullpen at the end of the game with Sherrill (who I think will ultimately be replaced by Jim Johnson), but its a great spot for them as they should be going hard for this win, whatever it takes. Padilla is nothing to be worried over.

On the under in NYM/PHI. I just can't lay the price it takes to bet the Mets given that their offense pulls a disappearing act every other game, and coming off the big game yesterday I see a letdown. Hope Santana can do his part though and keep this a pitchers duel between the youngster Happ and himself.

Trying SF out, LAD is scuffling and hopefully the bad news on Rafael Furcal keeps them down. Sanchez has been a pleasant surprise and I look for him to be able to sneak a win in there for SF against the hit or miss Derek Lowe.

And im a sucker therefore I am on Boston against my bettor judgment.

Tampa Bay IS NOT LoOKING AHEAD. That does not mean they win. Still thinking about that one. One of the more interesting games on the board.

looking at blankets match-up page for the CWS/OAK clash, the first thing that catches ones eyes...

Under is 8-2 in OAK last 10 Fri. games
Under is 7-3 in OAK last 10 overall.
Under is 7-3 in OAK last 10 on grass.
Under is 6-2-1 in CHW last 9 Fri. games.

From there only the slightest of digging presents the further facts that for this season...
OAK is 45-33-7 to Under
CWS is 47-37-1 to Under
...and of course that Chicago has a starter going who has conceded just 2 ERs or less in 7 of his last 9 starts, not to mention the fact the visiting team averages just 3.1 runs their last 10 games.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Any flies, then, in Under's ointment here?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

CWS at home in series of 3+ games
Game 1s - O/U 6-6-1
Game 2s - O/U 9-4
Game 3s - O/U 5-8

OAK away in series of 3+ games
Game 1s - O/U 4-7
Game 2s - O/U 5-4-2
Game 3s - O/U 3-7-1

In considering the Game 2s numbers for each team - when the losing team is not shut-out....

for CWS - O/U 9-1
for .OAK - O/U 5-1-2

... that's just a combined 11.11% Unders for Game 2s when the loser scores at least 1 run.

Since Oakland is the obvious candidate to be shut-out (if either team is to be), any flies in Buehrle's excellent pitching of late ointment?

Since '03, Hoye has been BHP for 2 Buehrle starts: 12.0 IP for 12 ERs says Mark no doubt has a number of other umpires he prefers to see BHP before he sees Mr. Hoye.

Further, since '05 OAK has not been shut-out once in 7 Buehrle starts (their W/L record in those games a favourable 5-2 SU, 2-1 SU away).
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Blanton since 05 vs CWS
WHIP 1.33, ERA 1.50 at home (O/U 1-1)
WHIP 1.87, ERA 6.75 on the road (1-0 to Over)

Blanton starts in 08
WHIP 1.92, ERA 7.02 at home vs sub .500 teams........ 2-1 to Under
WHIP 1.30, ERA 3.66 at home vs .500+ teams............ 5-4 to Under
WHIP 1.15, ERA 3.74 on the road vs sub .500 teams.... 2-1 to Under
WHIP 1.98, ERA 10.43 on the road vs .500+ teams...... 3-0 to Over

On the road to .500+ teams is the only spot Blanton remains perfect to Over in this season.

I am not betting Seattle today. Needed to see this earlier. Would have laid 30 cents tops and its 40 . That being said this is a great spot for Seattle. second game at home off a loss they are either 6-3-1 or 7-3-1 and Detroit is 1-5 after a first game win on road. The idea of laying 40 cents with Seattle just does not do it fo me but it is worth thinking about.

Over in NY, Schreiber behind the dish and Girardi ripped the team a new asshole. They come stacked and loaded. Beckett will give his fair share.

Yanks 4-0 after shutout but 4-0 Under as well . They need to be patient and Arod is terrible with MOB in key situations . He either jumps on the 1st pitch or gets ahead and swings at everything close likes it bad to walk in those situations. Someone needs to sit Arod down and tell him relax if you dont get a pitch hit walks are fine . You dont have to be the hero in every atbat .

Different then the 1st meeting as Damon , Giambi and Cano were all scuffling .

After the game the avg were Damon 204 , Giambi 125 and Cano 167 on April 17th .....

Beckett has been solid @ the Stadium in reg season but far from spectular . Think 3 runs in 7 innings and 3 runs in 8 innings in that April 17th start . Two bad outings one last less 2 innings and another where he went 6 but allowed a ton of hits , Th eother was 6 inn and 2 runs .....

So despite his great road and day track record there seems to be a chance we score at least a few runs .

Has to start with patience though . Our team walks is disgusting . Jeter and Posada are two vets I am extremely disappointed in there free swinging mindsets . Like I said Arod needs to accept walks or zone out more pitches instead of the opposite of exanding his zone . Giambi awesome , Damon solid working the count as has been Abreu but walks still in decline . Thought Cano showed more patience last night and needs to do so on a reg basis .

Think about this even Giambi who is patient as hell still has just 41 bbs in 75 games. In 2006 he has 110 walks in 139 games and he fell apart due to injury late that year (100bbs in 120 games entering Sept)

I am really pissed that the lineup cant show any consistency ....

:shake:

How does Milwaukee rebound here? Ace on the mound with a rather disciplined pitt team visiting. Price is close to 200. I think we see a route of frustration up the pirates assholes here... thoughts?

Tough call. Every team has a different profile some bounce back and some dont . Milw has been through it already if you recall that stretch earlier . Would look to see how they bounce back then . Generally SP is huge here on both sides. Pitt wants to keep them quiet and flat at worst in a close game so if they get some runners on late trailing Milw gets the oh here we go again feeling . So if Pitt gets ahead early it could be a huge edge for them IMO....

I cant lay -200 even with Sheets highly likely to go deep for 2 reasons :

The bullpen and Sheets lst start @ Pitt were he went the distance BUT allowed 10+ hits .

:shake:

Probably alot of Yankee "value" players out there since they are home dogs and Girardi chewed them out .

As bad as Yanks looked yesterday they probably were in a worse spot back in April when they faced Beckett. Rasner has been shaky as hell lately no doubt but he might not be any worse then Moose was back in April . With Ortiz absent thought Boston -130 made sense . So I see the line as fair . You really cant go much higher IMO. Think about Boston losing 5 straight before yesterday and Yanks putting up 18 the previous night . Things change quickly . Boston came in more desperate probably and actually hate teams coming in off chokes and unfavorable travel conditions like Boston did . They always seem to be hungrier . Pettitte didnt have but it wasnt NYY day from the getgo which I think is why Girardi chewed them out . They were absent from the 1st pitch . What happens if Jeter completes the DP and Lester walks the 1st two hitters ?? Different game , different momentum , etc...first 4 runs Boston got were of the right place , right time variety and not because they hit the ball well IMO...

Jose Molina catching tends to mean good yankee pitching . Another stat I would love to see on a reg basis is team ERA seperated by catchers ...

Even I am tempted to play Boston here more because not sure Yanks patience will do much if Beckett is on and Rasner is a question mark lately although continually solid at home in his short Yankee career. Nice flat spot for Boston in that they played a night game @ TB think they got in 4 AM for the Thursday game , played another night game and then have a 1 PM start ......

Thinking more UNDER on then anything here ......:shake::cheers:

Good Stuff BC . The flip is Oak is just 3-9 away vs LHSP this year ...that loss was about 3 games coming for WSox last nite after stealing the previous 2 vs Cle.

FYI: Think Texas is now 28-11 L39 vs RHSP ....Young is questionable....Guthrie is the KING of IL look at his IL stats the past 2 years and see what his AL stats become ...not bad but damn he owns the NL....( Cubs start he feel apart in the 7th allowing 3 hits and runs before getting an out and being pulled)

Great info BC on the Oak total and interesting stuff on Seattle / Det ...thinking over in that one .....

Played Over 9 @ NYY and more to root for my Yanks played them +1.5 RL . Just looking for a better effort after yeterday ..

Played Under 5 1st 5 innings @ Cincy and Nats ML.

Bergmann so solid day starts and seems to be back in a good groove of late . Arroyo didnt last the 2nd inning in either start last year vs Wash but clearly a new lineup. Dmitri 7-16 career and Kearns 3-4 with 2hrs ...

Both SP tough on RHP and little concerned to see how Bergmann handles the LH heavy lineup of Cincy but remember the Reds have struggled vs RHP for awhile now and Nats were in the same category ....

Stronger thoughts on the Reds-Nats games / plays ...Yanks more shits and giggles plus its July 4th ole george B-day and Yanks do want to win one for Mr. Steinbrenner on this day its just a tough task vs Beckett
