European basketball season 2015/2016

Anyone interested in betting on Mega Vizura in game 1 of Adriatic League Play-offs should remember that F Timothe Luwawu will not play. Line moved from -10.5 to -15.

I think Zenit has a nice chance to surprise Kuban in letdown spot two days after big play-off win in Euroleague but I'm going with the over bc Zenit adopted Saratov-like ultra offensive up-tempo style of play and Loko, maybe tired, maybe distracted a little bit should be playing loose defense today. Słupsk is shooting the lights out recently plus another tough opponent for Monaco which is on very short 1-day rest. I'm seriously considering Gravelines +7. No line Tranzon/Fenerbahce yet?

VTB: St.Petersburg/Kuban o157.5 (1.94)
TBL: Słupsk +4.5 (1.95)
ProA: Monaco/Dunkerque u150 (1.95)

I knew i was in trouble with the under 150 when it went up to 153.

I knew it too but was hoping Monaco may be tired on such a short rest. The problem was Gravelines game plan - clearly they tried to out run Monaco knowing that home team already played this week. It didn't work out for them that well or the effort was poor. Antibes had much better game plan and execution when they were playing with Monaco on the road couple of days ago. This Monaco team is tough to beat, they will be champs of ProA, I'm tellin' ya. Uter reminds me so much of Zach Randolph and back court of Shuler, Cooper and Oattara is too much for majority of the teams in French league.

Generally speaking betting on totals is riskier than betting on spreads and often totally unpredictable. That's why this kind of bets is less than 20% of action for me.

And the backdoor cover 2 seconds before the end of regulation was just brutal. 87:80 at least would give me a push.

Shuler should be considered MVP of the ProA.

I won't be surprised if I go 0-2 on FIBA Cup F4 tomorrow. The numbers are too big and Varese and Krasnoyarsk are okay teams. For so long I was riding Frankfurt and Chalon, two teams playing completely different style of basketball, that I want to see them playing in the final against each other. Not only they deserve to win the cup but actually they have all the right tools to lift the trophy. Chalon will have home court advantage which is huge for them - Elan thrives at home. Frankfurt can take care of any team - we saw it on Sunday how easily they dismantled ALBA Berlin on the road.

Kutno and Mitteldeutscher are my best bets. I think Bamberg will also cover and over will hit in that game. BOL, whatever side you take.

FIBA Europe Cup: Frankfurt -9.5 (1.91) C
FIBA Europe Cup: Chalon -6.5 (1.91) C
TBL: Kutno +11 (1.95) B
BBL: Mitteldeutscher +10.5 (1.96) B
BBL: Braunschweig -5.5 (1.91) C

?BBL: Mitteldeutscher +10.5 (1.96) B and ACB: Vitoria +4.5 (1.99) B Why you like these 2 plays

For Mitteldeutscher it won't be a basketball game, it will be struggle for life - the club needs a win or two to avoid relegation. I respect Ulm but that's too many points and Mitteldeutscher should be extra motivated tonight. As of Barca/Baskonia game - historically Barca had problems winning with Vitoria. If you look at head-to-head log you will see a lot of close games. For Barcelona it will be third game during 7 days span.

Vitoria started the game 2/20 from the field..

I was right about overblown pointspreads in both FIBA games. Chalon played very chaotic basketball, absolutely no defense. Funny scene happened in the first quarter when coach Choulet was forced to take time out and basically begged their players for some defense (they gave up 31 points in Q1). Unlike in Frankfurt case there's no chemistry between French coach and his players. Two of them already declared for NBA draft, others will be looking for bigger contracts - I think this team will be blown up after the season ends. Only thing that interests me is: do they show up to play during playoffs or will be looking ahead to extend off-season by dropping of the play-offs as soon as possible. This is common problem in euro bball - players underperforming bc they think the club don't pay them enough or they already have better offers on the table or just want to go home to or for early vacation. If Chalon will be favored big during play-offs I think it will be worth to take a look at betting against them.

Vitoria had not only G Causer and F Hanga injured but also G Blazic (didn't know that). No surprise they took the day off.

Sat. card. I also lean Pinar -4.5, Usak +11.5 (Anadolu fade after the club fired coach Ivković).

ABA: Mega Leks +12 (1.91) C
TBL: Słupsk +3.5 (1.95) C
BSL: Yesilgiresun +3 (1.97) C
VTB: Nizhny Novgorod +10 (1.93) C

What's your best bet for Saturday, utfootball?

Oops, I made a mistake. Latest info from the other board: Giresun's top scorer F Crocker and G Perkins are suspended b/c off disciplinary issues (the club doesn't pay from some time and the players went nuts during the week). Their starting C Jackson left the club without permission and is now in Italy, looking for greener pastures. Giresun's place in Turkish league for 2016/2017 season is safe, the club and players have nothing to play for. Buyukcekmece is still trying to make play-offs. So the right play should be Buyuk -4. I like Buyuk FH -2 too.

I will include Giresun bet in my record, don't want to confuse people here and on Twitter. I will add a play or too to balance record.

weird line movement on yesilgiresun.

Yes weird things happened before and during that game. I jumped early on Yesil +3 b/c I'm familiar with this team and I trust them especially when they play at home. Then that information came up about suspensions. Yesil was loosing for three quarters and then just crushed Buyukcekmece 28:16 in 4Q. Public was on Buyuk and lost. Never underestimate the heart of home underdog lol.

From the other board: "Courtney Fells and Derwin Kitchen left Trabzonspor today. It should be a big advantage for TED in tomorrow's match."

They are played in Chalon-sur-Saône, so for Chalon it was a home game yesterday and today. Chalon wasted great occasion to rewrite history of basketball by winning this thing. That was part of my logic betting on them (home team, host of tournament), although I knew the pointspread was too big.

Sorry for not responding I was watching 4 games at the same time... Sunday.

My Skyliners 3 point shot was off all weekend but they lifted the trophy. I hope the club will build on that success because this squad with the coach Herbert system is true covering machine.

Crazy day, too many plays but with each day it will be less opportunities to bet. Tomorrow's card will be very short.

Some tough decisions I had to make today. Playoffs in Greece, Poland and Russia, last round in Italy and Turkey. Some of the pointspreads on the board are pure nonsense (Cremona -7), there are also some traps prepared for unconscious bettors. There's possibility that Aris and AEK will be crushed in confrontation with Greek powerhouses, so betting on under in both games makes a lot of sense. Kitchen-sink type of games for all teams in Turkey, except Anakra and Anadolu.

After winning Eurocup and securing a place in next season Euroleague Galatasaray immediately terminated contract of G Jerrels and let go C James back home to take care of family issue. It means the club isn't interested in competing for Turkish championship. I would advise to be careful with betting on them in the playoffs.

There were many notable free agent signings during last week in LegaA. Some teams strengthened their rosters ahead of playoffs, while others terminated contracts of expendable players (Sassari - F Mitchell). Some teams will be without key players (C Owens done for Venezia) and with already secured place in Euroleague (Milano will be without G Gentile).

Some important transfers:

G Needham (previously Braunschweig) signs with Reggio Emilia.
G Cummings (D-League, 20,5 ppg) signs with Trento.
G Pargo (Chinese league) and F Krubally (Lavrio) inks with Venezia.
