2025 Golf Handicapping Thread....

Man, Rai was -5 through 6 holes.

The short #7 par 4, he hits half the cup and misses the birdie to get to -20.

Played +1 the rest.

Had a good read on him all week though and he cashed his unders all week!

0-1 Rd.4 -12.75u. -.8u for Mexico.
1-1 pre-tourney bets, hit Jaeger top German but missed on my cut play.

Caught some 4th round action last night and will finish it today. Was out of pocket so wasn't sure if it was the wind, struggling group or just nerves for Jaeger to not be in contention. Was a prime opportunity for Jaeger only for him to miss.

Onward and upward

Combination of a lot but that final group couldn't get any approach shots within 15 feet it felt like all day. Jaeger apparently was locked in on the range and didn't bring anything. Bogie and then missed a 5 foot birdie and his round was over.

I got him around +350 live, he dipped to PK, and then proceeded to cough it up. He's a back 9 choker when in the mix.

Tee2Green last week -- posting because I think that's a good angle for guys heading to PGA National this week.

Last year, solid finishers at Mexico carried over well to Cognizant.

Cognizant:

To win:

Berger +2000
Kitayama +4000
Novak +5000
N. Hojgaard +5000

Matchups:
Berger -110 vs Pendrith
Novak -115 vs Rodgers
Hojgaard -105 vs Fowler

Taking Novak in my one and done, though I'm tempted to switch to Berger

Reading some of the previews, it looks like if wind becomes a factor, it could impact the late/early groups for Thursday/Friday. Probably won't be much, but maybe worth fading some of the favorites that tee off late tomorrow. Novak is first in the afternoon wave tomorrow and first Friday morning. Might get me off him for the 1 and done, but I might be overreacting

Henley, Straka and Berger are guys I'll look for live to win. I want more value.

Henley keeps popping in my head.

Cole +8000
Hodges +6500
Nicolai +5000

Are in.
Well, I'm a dipshit.

I've been purposely waiting on outrights due to so many withdrawals this year.

Hodges is already out.

I played that at a book that doesn't refund.

I'm having a week of stupidity.

Fell asleep as I was typing last night. Had to grab these live. May add some live like BAR for the straka, Berger, Lowry bunch.

Tournament / Outright Winner / Lucas Glover +6180
Tournament / Outright Winner / Keith Mitchell +4545
Tournament / Outright Winner / Ben Griffin +4650
Tournament / Outright Winner / Kurt Kitayama +4400
Tournament / Outright Winner / Davis Thompson +3545

Boys are feasting on birds this morning. Knapp time, among others are killing it. Looking to add more under rounds but lines may have / have started to adjust already.

Yeah, course is playing very easy so far. Very.

I'll kick myself if Russ wins and I didn't just take +2200.
At time of my post on Berger, I could have tagged him to win for +2750 still now it’s +900. Naturally I will be rooting against Berger to win now lol as you are with Russ.

Narrator: I did not switch to Berger

As someone who’s “hometown” event is the Honda, couldn’t be more sad to see what it’s become. Completely toothless. Totally lost its identity. Playing like a resort course today.

Yeah man, that was sort of the beauty of this tournament.

A few posts and articles out complaining about the ease of course today. What do they do to make it tougher tomorrow and through the weekend? less/no water on the greens, tougher pin placements and pray for wind is all I can think of. The rough will get tougher as they let it grow through the weekend.

Over/unders are up on FD, some are still at 68.5, many are at 67.5. Wondering how the course plays out tomorrow with any changes they make. Wind supposed to be a little up tomorrow.

So I looked at the hourly this morning and I saw nothing over 10mph.

Maybe I have a bad source?

I also didn't see much difference morning to afternoon today yet the scoring was much different.

We do need to remember that par 4 that's a par 5 now is probably worth 3 shots or so?

Still, this isn't the old Honda. Man I felt like -7/-9 was a winning score a decade ago!

Enjoy that decades old memory while you've got it. I barely remember this tournament when big time players showed up.

Wind looks mild again tomorrow, 5-8mph morning and afternoon. Maybe a slight advantage for early wave/softer greens.

Really want to pull the trigger on Knapp under 68.5 -105. Hes also -115 to lead after round 2. Don’t expect him to go ape shit again but a 3 or 4 under follow up would be respectable, if hes looking to stay in contention come Sunday

I'm tackling it from the birdies or better at 4.5...as a hedge against him spraying the driver and taking a couple big holes that ruin the 68.5.
Best of luck.

That’s a good option I need to consider. Looked at them this morning and most were at 5.5.

JJ play is at FD, not DK. Seem to get them confused at times. FD has been about 10 cents cheaper on over/unders, very much the same options.

Good note.

Interesting last week when myself but especially my boy were hitting Rai unders, 2 of the 3 days they were played (Fri through Sunday) our PPH had better juices than DK.
