perhaps it's due to national tv games spread more on specific days of the week than others? perhaps all NBA players watch week end games and those who need to play on Monday are in a lazy mood leading dogs to be more competitive vs favs that are not giving 100% effort unconsciously.

anyway, no matter how you take it pas history suggest alos mavs and under in elimination game 5 + first 2 meeting in OKC went way under whereas next in DAL went way over.

got the upcoming NBA TV schedule. but does someone has past NBA TV schedule recorded for playoffs this season??

Really sad if you held a Hawks ticket last night. The last 2 possessions were pathetic. First, Hawks allow Thomas to coast right down the lane for an easy lay-up. At least foul the dude, and force him to make 2 FTs in crunch time!

Then the final possession by Teague was one of the worst I've ever seen. They were out of a timeout and had about 15-20 seconds. They ran NO offensive set. No play for Milsap, who scored over 40pts. Instead, Teague dribbled until about 2 seconds and attempted a 3 pointer (which they didnt even need). Except the ball slipped out of his hand, and he never even got a shot off.

Oh, and ATL also blew a 16 point 3rd Quarter lead. Just a brutal loss on ATL +1.

Tonight: I think all 3 home teams get it done ATS. At worst, you go 2-1. OKC in a close out game at home, sign me up. As long as CHAR keeps up their D from game 3, they should win. And PORT back court awakened in front of home crowd, and should keep PORT within the #.

The refs were in favor of the Hawks all freakin game. It was disgusting officiating. Schroeder is terrible and is killing the Hawks right now. I don't know why he's allowed to shoot the rock. Teague has been hampered by him all season.

The Celtics weakest link is Sullinger. Dude is utterly useless on the court. Doesn't give any help defense and just was wandering aimlessly like he has to save his energy for the offensive end.... Where he cannot shoot or finish at the basket. Just awful.

No David Lee and possibly no Mejri tonight for Dallas. Just feels like okc puts them out of their misery tonight and the mavs might just roll over. Something you never see from them. Injuries killed em.

They over-achieved a bit given injuries. I think everyone expected a fully healthy squad to finish in one of the last playoff spots and get bounced in rd 1. I think they get desperate next year and sign Dwight Howard.

Question is are they telling the truth or is Curry's knee worse than they are saying ?

If it's only a grade 1 sprain then he would be back in 2 weeks, but they are saying he'll be re-evaluated.

Now if the Warriors were smart they lose the next two games to Houston and then finish them off at home game 7. Sure we can all say anything can happen in a game 7 but the chance Houston can win in GS, slim to none. You then would have basically a week until the series ended. Curry would only miss one or two games in rd 2. Or you need porty to make their series go 7 games.

Time for Harrison Barnes to prove he's worth a max deal. I still think they handle Rockets in the next game. Then a series with LAC would be interesting (assuming they advance).

So many people are saying this and it is the dumbest idea ever. There is no guarantee Curry will even be ready in two weeks and why the hell would they want to risk further injury to a another player? This is never happening

Is in the Clippers best interests to rap their series with Portland up quick and take on a Curry-less Dubs.

No shit pal, they won't do it cuz it makes too much sense

Hopefully OKC and the refs only wanted to screw up the 1st half spread.

Giving up 37 2nd quarter points to a severely banged-up team in a closeout game at home.

wow that is shocking.. what was over at nbc that he wanted to do

could be a bit of everything. Golf, NFL Thursday night package (Al Michaels contract up in 1-2 years), Olympics (looking for succession plan) and NBC radio is nothing right now. He is versatile enough to do all of those.

lol at the elbow to Russ's face. fuck that bitch. shouldn't be in there up 14 with under a minute to play anyways.

Push is better than a loss though, I agree.

Can't wait for the 2nd Round to start. 1st Round is wearing on me.

golden state warriors star stephen curry will miss at least the next two weeks with a sprained right mcl, the team announced. An mri taken monday confirmed the sprain, suffered in sunday's game 4 victory over the houston rockets.

Curry is scheduled to be re-evaluated in two weeks, the team said.

Curry missed 3 games this past reg. season & in 2 others played 14 & 19 mins: after that 26 mins (twice, then 27 mins, twice) was his least amount of time on court. Vast majority of the time it was 30 mins minimum (incl. 4 x 40+ mins).

There were numerous games down the stretch he didn't have to play:

home vs. Memphis, Apr. 13th (29:46 mins)
home vs Philly, Apr. 3rd (33:12 mins)
home vs New York, March 16th (28:21 mins)
home vs. Phoenix, March 12th (34:59 mins, a b2b game off 30 mins the night before)
home vs. Orlando, March 7th (37:20 mins - b2b game)
away vs. Lakers, March 6th (34:17 mins)

Apart from Memphis, all those teams had horrible records (either overall or specifically on the road). There was no reason for them to fear losing to any of them simply because Curry wouldn't be present (funnily they lost to the worst of the lot with Curry anyway). As for the Memphis game, it was the last of the season: the Spurs had long since ceased being able to catch them for HCA throughout the playoffs anyway, so the only factually legitimate reason they could otherwise turn to to explain his playing that game didn't exist. As for Memphis, their playoff spot was cemented before the result of that game since Utah couldn't catch them. It's not like GS knew their opponent was coming with a '...and the kitchen sink' kind of motivated effort.

So it comes down to the fact GS wanted to take that best overall record off the hands of Chicago at the risk of overworking Curry - who is now suffering the toll that such a workload logically and irrevocably made him vulnerable to (keeping in mind when the length of his season last year gets added into the overall mix of accumulated wear & tear). Resting him for those games wouldn't have been to buy into the dichotomy that went "would you rather have the record or win a championship?" Resting Curry for those games didn't entail lumping for just one chance at 1 of the 2 achievements, since all were easily winning (at least on paper) without his presence given opponent weaknesses + GS depth. Of course there were even more games through the season that could apply as well, I've just stuck to those that occurred at the time of the season where leading teams typically take matters easier (by resting players = Hello, Spurs) in preparation for the playoffs.

GS might well truly end up being victims of their own success.

I keep waiting for Blake Griffin to take the next step and he never does. He's used to take over games from time to time. Now he's just a regular player.

Curry slipped on a wet spot, no amount of rest was going to prevent that.
