*****2014 Central Division Champs Cleveland Indians Thread *****

Go Tribe! Wouldn't be Opening Day without about 24 hours of steady rain. Should provide more time to imbibe.

One of many places to discuss what's on your mind about the Tribe this season. This thread, daily discussion thread, Tigers thread, Pirates thread ...

Indians opener fun facts ...

Progressive Field opened 20 years ago today (then as Jacobs Field). Time flies. Randy Johnson took a no-hitter into the 8th inning, broken up by Santos Alomar, Jr. Tribe went on to christen the new park with a 4-3 win in extras, game-winning run driven in by Wayne Kirby on a two-out single in the 11th. Breaking up that no-hitter was notable in that it preserved the late, great Bob Feller's singular achievement as the only pitcher to throw a no-hitter on opening day (still the only one). Feller was, of course, in attendance that day. President Bill Clinton threw out the first pitch in '94. Today, 1994 manager Mike Hargrove will throw out the first pitch to 1994 catcher and current Tribe coach, Sandy Alomar, Jr.

I remember like 3 weeks ago the Tigs had the best run differential in the majors...lol...

Tigs haven't been quite right since the Cleveland series, slogging along. I've also never seen a team rained out this much. They must be piling up doubleheaders and rescheduled off days.
