Thought the level of play in the Florida/Alabama game was especially bad today .. I mean .. really bad football. How many blown coverages and missed tackles and fumbles?? If that had been USF against UConn we would all be joking about knifing our eyes out. BUT ... a few things were apparent ... 1. Muschamp is just outclassed as a coach in that conference. All summer to scheme to stop Cooper and they blew coverages all game long. 2. Cooper is good ... REAAAALLLL good. 3. I think this game showed why Saban plays this QB over the other guy ... both probably throw about the same. 4. Better beat Bama early because that club is gonna be good by year end and obviously aren't bad now .. they absolutely destroyed Florida today.

Oh ... they were in it on the scoreboard and were a favorite to cover in the fourth ... but they got CRUSHED on the field of play.
 
Like I said, immagine if Bama plays someone with an offense. There is a reason Florida isn't ranked at all this year. :)

I just think they need a coaching overhaul. The talent is there but they are missing the culture right now. Had basically the entire summer to scheme against Bama ... which should have been a scheme designed to take Cooper away and make someone else.... anyone else ... beat you. And he has 10 catches for 201 yards. Florida also has recruited speed speed speed and are a little small when facing a power team like Bama.

Muschamp is just in way over his head, imo.

Florida will be back contending for SEC titles before too long but it just won't be with him as HC
 
Something is just off mentally. He has the maturity of a 5 year old, I can't figure it out, but something is wrong upstairs.

Florida was practically gifted 3 td's shark lol.

I learned that Brady Hoke will never do big things at Michigan..ever..I kind of knew before but yesterday cemented it.

Hoke was out-coached in every phase of the game.....sorry, man. He should start packing and hopefully you guys get your Harbaugh wish. Agree with the comments on Muschump and Dabo as well, they have more talent than most coaches in the country but just struggle to use it.
 
agree on both QB's .. but also think you have to blame scheme as well.

I always thought Logan Thomas was a crappy QB for VT and he was ... but some of it is scheme. Brewer isn't as bad as Beamer is capable of making him look. I mean there is a reason why every qb looks good for sumlin and briles ... or texas tech ... or okst ... they cant all be Heisman types ... the offensive system makes them good. Too hard to grind out wins the traditional way that VT has done it in the past. Game has changed and the hokies haven't changed with it. No way that team with the talent difference they have vs GT should lose.

Did any of the Missouri coaches talk to the center who snapped the ball high I'd guess about 30 times in the game?

I've never seen a more ill-prepared team than Missouri yesterday...it was if they didn't want to be there.

This is right on the money. Some of these QB's are put in position to fail before they even take a snap. I also agree that some of them are just not good QB's.

I've been on the wrong side of IU two weeks running, I'm just staying away from that schizophrenic team from here on out.

Was there any worse beat than this one?
BYU -14.5. They are up 15 with about 5 minutes left, UVA down to the back up QB and 99 yds away from the endzone, first play the RB is tackled inches from a safety. Play 2 no gain, play 3 a slant for a 1st down, they punt if they dont get the 1st down from the half yard line.... They drive the field converting at least one 4th down and yes score a TD with like 45 seconds left to cover. again, back up qb drives a team 99 yds to fuck me over!!!

It was not a well played game. If Alabama doesn't have that first fumble, the game would have been over midway first quarter. I mentioned this in one of the SEC threads, but Alabama has a perfect schedule this season to gradually improve and still have a decent chance at a 0-1 loss season. First four games were about figuring out the QB situation, get the new guys experience, and play a couple of teams (WVU, UF) that are "good," will cause some struggles for Alabama, but not really be a threat to win. Now they have a bye week for another 4 game stretch which will be much tougher, starting with the road trip to Oxford. Then @ Ark, aTm, @ Tenn, then another bye before the last 4 (@LSU, Miss St, somebody shitty, AU). If Alabama sits at 8-0 going into the second bye, I'll believe they have a chance to be the best team in the country this year. 7-1, they're probably still the favorite to win the West
 
uva outgained byu 519 to 332 though .. they were getting the two td not laying it ... also Johns Tomat-O, Lambert Tomat-ah.

But ya .. 99 yard drive for the TD at the end was unlucky for BYU backers.

Gonna guess California moneyline bettors probably took it worse than anyone else.
 
Also ..off topic … does anyone else get annoyed with teams incapable of taking a snap from center for a QB sneak or short yardage? Drives me crazy on multiple levels
1. It is obviously a huge disadvantage to have to go shot gun in those situations and you have decided before the season starts that you are going to take that disadvantage. And the thing is … short yardage situations are BIG moments in games … third and one, fourth and one and goal line plays. It just shows a degree of laziness by the coaches that I find angering.
2. Presumably you should be preparing your kids for the next level.
