The Coastal Carolina / App State line is weird.

I have a printout from summer that had a GOY line on Coastal -3.5 and places open it juiced -3. Everyone would've pounded that number after watching AppSt at ULL last week.

Devil's advocate it will be the only game on Wed night at home so Appy will be nuts of course

Just can't see them hanging with the pounding Coastal can put on them for 4 quarters

UCF-3 home vs Memphis another strange one

Indiana has to be deflated. Heard Tom Allen post game press conference, if I didn't know he was talking about a football game I would've thought he was mourning a family member. GOY was 12. Is 7 points enough adjustment?

Last time Clemson was a dog vs somebody not named Alabama?

BYU-1 at Wazzou. Wazzou on 3 game win streak and playing some D. Rolovich?

Nevada - Fresno will be good

I'm showing Louisville in 2016 was a 1 point fave over Clemson.

Lala/ark st should be an over game
NW/Mich should be a rockfight
Pitt again
Colo/Cal should also be a rock right
Kinda like ok st to keep it close. Defense playing very well
Ohio St should curb stomp indy
NC St again
USC should keep it close

Looking forward to hearing what you guys are thinking with the usc nd game. I know I’m a disgruntled usc fan but I don’t see how they keep it to within single digits.

I was so hoping to catch a little plus money or few points on Pitt but I think the line it totally justified, actually think I can make the case it short. The only teams that make me nervous backing pitt are teams who can exploit their secondary, not sure DJ can do that? Per usual I really like pitt front 7 and I think Pickett looks like one the better Qbs in the country. I’m not convinced Clemson can win this game with defense the way they been able to the last few. I don’t see them keeping pitt out the mid-high 20s.,Pitt gotta be licking their chops to exact some revenge and kick tigers while they down! Been saying this for a minute, I think pitt is the class the acc this year.

My initial thought would be they keep it close cause ND not very good and Havnt been able to pull away from anyone. I Havnt begun to actually look at it tho.

Wake only laying 3 to army? They had a bye last week which I would think helps them to prepare for defending the option? Cuse ran all over them which concerning. I see chance of rain which I think would benefit army. This just feels a bit short to me.

may be the first game i won't bet a clemson under, pitt should score some and clemson should hit some jump balls. Markets adjusted to clemson, not the time to fade them. I actually think they improved alot vs syracuse. oline was getting first down line yards 4-5 yards a carry on first. Didn't see that all season.

I don’t know about the academies, but I was surprised to find that PJ’s Tech teams did better against teams with standard rest than against teams with short rest.

Perhaps such teams tended to do extra work in the spring/ summer.

Or perhaps PJ could use the extra time better than most other coaches.

Perfect letdown spot w/BYU coming in off a tough beat

I'm using it
Can't argue against it. Kids surprise sometimes but every comment I heard, those players had his back. I'm sure most of them are pissed. Where that emotion goes is hard to say. Could very well be negative distraction.

Then we have Utah who disputed their game week by flying the team to Texas for Lowe's funeral last week with no negative outcome.

Just never know which way it cuts.

Who else is out and who is interim?

Helps that BYU is far and away the better team in the trenches

Probably. I think WSU has one or two NFL prospects on OL. DL I don't know but some of WSU LBs and DBs are good.

Jihad Woods got tagged targeting. Don't remember what half it was

First half I believe. I think WSU uses this as a rallying cry.

What do you think about your utes this week? They appear to have turned a corner and are playing like alot of us thought they would…
The insertion of Rising has been huge. It seems that they all love playing with him. I think the improvement of the OL is a bigger key though. They were hot garbage those first three games.

The DL was getting nothing those first three games as well but now they're getting pressure without blitzing which is huge.

This is the type of game that they lose in previous years and let's be honest, the pac12 loves to cannibalize itself. Full disclosure, I haven't seen one snap by OSU this year. Utah or nothing for me but tread lightly.

This line is something...

Surprised to see the Bama line tick down a bit. Hooker is day to day but idk why you would bother playing him, get him healthy for November

I hope there are some time changes because if not there are no games listed past 6:30 central / 7:30 eastern except for Hawaii at 10:59 / midnight. There is just no way there isn't a 8, 9, 10 or 10:30 kick is there?

Wow.

Granted they usually start limiting as season goes on due to weather but this is absolutely wild.

Times generally cannot be changed the week of.

About the only intangible angle I can see maybe against Coastal here is the fact the teams they have played this year are garbage and then an average Buffalo team they were in a close game with. Coastal has played Citadel, Kansas, Buffalo, UMass, ULM and Arkansas State. I'm just offering the theory that perhaps their competition to date won't have them as ready as they might otherwise need to be compared to an App St team that is more battle tested vs a higher level of athletes and programs. The counter obviously is that we saw Coastal do it last year so this year should be no different as the team is largely the same.

I was just looking at this last night…..ccu has the worst or 2nd worst SOS out of all 130 teams (looking at 3 or 4 different metrics). To that end tho, mccall is #1 or 2 in a few qb metrics I have seen and is shooting up draft boards. I think coastal can get it done, but it might be ugly in boone

while it makes sense to me it would benefit a team to have extra prep time the problem is none of them can run the offense to practice against it,, im sure they can have a rb or wr playing qb to run the practice squad but they not gonna be able to replicate the execution at all,, not to mention all the cut blocking, i doubt teams are willing to have their starting defensive players getting cut blocked in practice all week!!! just not sure that army can slow Wake offense down enough? obviously their path to success would be 7=8=9 min 20 play drives,, if the forecast holds up and there is indeed rain i would think that make it even tougher for wf offense to get rolling with the limited possessions they sure to get?

how you seeing the clemson game? i really think pitt a tough matchup for them and of course they gotta be pumped up to exact some revenge for years of beat downs!!! i just went to bet pitt cause every acc line i have waited on the last few weeks has went up!! decided i would go ahead and try to get out of in front of this one as i was pretty happy with pit-3 and the fucking thing up to -4 already! ugh,..

damn,,, i finally just got thru just my initial leans list,.. i have a lot of games to dive deeper into!! have bout 20-25 wrote down i gotta do more work on!!

Regarding the bye for WF and Army option prep, just one example, it would be interesting to see the overall trend of byes before option and how it went.

Last time Clawson WF team played option team was 2017. That eventual 8-5 WF team had a bye week prior to playing an eventual 5-6 GT. Result? A 38-24 GT win with 427 yards rushing (6.47).

I remember back when Army had their series with Wake 2012-2016; WF had the luxury of an outstanding NG Nakita Whitlock who could impact Army's FB dive and penetrate to the QB. WF won the games he played in with 2013 being especially effective.

Army won the last game 21-13 in 2016. Army went 8-5 that season, their first winning season in a while up to that point. Prior to that, WF had won 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 vs bad Army teams. Strangely enough, WF had a bye before the 2016 game in which they lost. They did not have a bye before any of the 2012-2015 games in which they won.

deference to bases?

deference to bases?

No, there are college games on at the same time as the Saturday night baseball games (USC - ND, Ohio St - Indiana, Tenn-Bama to name 3). The void is there is no overlap after the 7:30 games end. I can't remember there not being an 8:00 or later kickoff on a middle of the season Saturday. I mean, there isn't going to be any football playing on TV after 10:30/11:00 pm eastern. I don't think that is rare, I think it has actually never happened on a midseason Saturday. Saturday night is going to SUCK. Hawaii isn't even on TV, I think it is on the Team 1 Sports App. I stay up til 2am or later watching football. TV games will be over 3 hours before that this week. CBS Sports Network has a 2020 replay of some autoracing on at 11pm. ESPN has boxing, ESPN U has a FCS replay. ESPN 2 says "TBA" I can't think of a reason there are no 8:00 or later kicks. I really hope this is not the beginning of some trend. West Coast teams can kick at 8 or 9 or 10 eastern, that is only 5 and 6 and 7 o'clock start times. Mountain time can kick at 9 eastern, that's only 7 for them. It's about spreading out the product, when it is all bunched up at the same time it is harder to undivided devote attention to the games compared to staggered and later start times. I was always under the impression networks needed inventory/product for their later time slots for viewership.

Maybe a little class relief for ND offense vs. USC defense? ND obviously not running the ball well and having OL problems this season but maybe they get somewhat well this week vs. USC who are having trouble stopping the run vs. any decent opponents.

I don’t trust Irish enough to lay a td. They have let lessor teams stay within this number. Damn near every team!

deference to bases?

Most years I’d like the time slot to be light to watch bases, love baseball playoffs but I pretty much hate all the teams left!! Rooting for lad to get knocked off all I have left! Lol. Braves might have blown the series last night, before he threw the 2nd high heater in a row to Bellinger I was telling him not to do it, I freaking knew it was coming after he was way late on the high fastball for strike 2!!! Was so obvious it was coming and Bellinger was sitting all over it, he woulda been toast if he got the slider!! He was obviously sitting dead red to be able to get on top that pitch!

As I mentioned the other day, while I think having the extra week to prep should be helpful I’m not sure how good it does them when they not capable of simulating the offense in practice?

Wake has scored 35+ on everyone, just not sure Army can slow WF down other than keeping the ball away. Maybe If army can limit possessions wake will have a problem getting the offense going? Wake been playing some really tight games of late. Cuse going for well over 300 on the ground has to be a concern, could be getting gashed on the ground the last 2 games and staring at army top rushing offense will catch the defenses attention? Whether they can get army into some 3rd and longs should be the key. Whether they can do that I dunno? I was worried rain would hurt wake but now I see it down to only 30% chance, still to far out to trust the weatherman.
