why is that line in orleans so low??......i really love it......hornets should have no problem scoring 115 points with gs`s defense....and the warriors should reach 100.

Magic or pass . Seriously how is Miami gonna to contend here??

Raps definetly have payback but who wants to lay -9 ? Wash has stunk on the road past 3 travels..

Philly or Milw ....gun to head....Just pull the Trigger!

Nuggets @ Grizz...possible over

Minnesota same situation as Toronto but wouldnt lay more then -1.5 or -2.

Hmmm...GSW and Hornets could be a points feista IF GSW can play 48 quality minutes

I prefer Cavs as I still say FADE Portland till they give reason not to.. game should be closet to a PKem IMO...

Knicks CHOKING away another playing 3rd in 4 after GSW and LAL whats left ??

Charlotte looked good vs LAC and I would be careful about fading them or backing Sca as chalk....however neither has played much defense of late and over looks solid.....

LAC real thin and even ATL should be able to prevail.....

SN we could really use a daily thread from you...
:smiley_acbe:

TT OVER for Hornets. Why take the chance on the over for the game if GSW can't play the whole 48 minutes. Hard to play a quality 48 vs the Hornets right now.

Cavs stand out IMO ...

Why not lay the team total? I believe that for any over to hit you have to expect the DOG to compete that game. So I wouldnt be interested in a TT of about 111.5 or so if I didnt think GSW was gonna be flat. As good as NO offense is playing and as disinterested as GSW defense can be its tough IMO to crack 110++ in a blowuut

Maybe one of these days ATL. I just dont want to keep recycling the same info that gets passed around...anyone who starts a thread should bring a sort of freshness to the reader...maybe one of these days when the card is interesting...

One of those LOL moments when I typed that

i already played the cavs +3 , posted a couple thoughts in bars thread...i just think that portland is going to come back down to earth some, i'll take the best player in the nba going to sweep this 3 game road trip, beat clipps at home b/f their game vs a healthy kg and allen at home

hi sportsnut, good to see you again man...a class act from back in the day...love reading your stuff.....cheers

i'm off to sleep, catch ya guys tomorrow

I like U197 Miami@Orlando..

Wade may or may not play because of the flu and Haslem turned his ankle.. to get 97 I think Miami needs about 35 from Wade. Not going to happen. My only concern is Orlando dropping 120.

Portland offense was figured out last week, they're going to crash back to earth. Atlanta should have beaten them last game but they cant close a game to save their life. Look at the teams they've beat lately, Hawks who should have won, Miami and NJ.. Cleveland should exploit them and their road trip coming up should be a disaster.

Miami is in for a rough one, definitely. too bad it's offline...

looks like Haslem is going to be out for a extended period of time, not just tomorrow. he was seen with a walking boot on.

It's up at sportsbook. 197 & 13 .. I'm not sure if I like the U or the -13 more.

to give another little bite into the clev. portland game i am with bar on this one portland all the way...they cavs had a down to the wire WIN at the lakers...some might not know the cavs never went home away from there teammates to there girls or wives...what they did was stay in L.A. for the 3 days until the trip to portland...so not only did they probably celebrate the win L.A. style but also had to practice in an unknown arena and who is to say they even got in a solid practice with all this surronding them Portland all the way is that play here...hopeing to see a solid bar post maybe 3 if not 4 units....oh ya by the way lets not forget they have this game and another game on the very next day also on the road at seattle so maybe they are practicing for BOTH teams when means they are very unprepared for this portland offense!!!
"BTW...the exclamation mark made me realize how SERIOUS you are" - BAR

just played portland minus 3 expecting an 8 to 11 point win...hope B.A.R. is behind me for a little more confindance...

Here you go Red, there is an explanation besides Eva.

NBA_Parker_small.jpg

Tony Parker has been "shut down" for Tuesday's game and possibly several more by Spurs' coach Gregg Popovich. Parker has been bothered by a bone spur in his heel all season, and Pop wants him to let it heal.
"He was told he was going to get better, but he's gotten worse," Popovich said. "I don't know how long it's going to be, but he's going to sit. He doesn't like it, but this is the way it's going to be." Parker was just 1-of-7 for five points and three assists on Monday, so he is clearly not feeling well. We know the Spurs are near the top of the list to acquire Damon Stoudamire, and Stoudamire could be thrown directly into the mix with Parker sidelined. Jacque Vaughn will start in his place tonight. I'd lean portland myself... but not a game I'm really interested in.

Cavs have been hot but Portland has been good at home this year and now that they've had a couple of days off they should be a bit better. I honestly think the line is a little fishy though. Sorry I can't provide much insight, just don't like either side.

sorry im new here and to start things im really interested to go with mil...that a good choice? thank you in advance:)

Anderson Varejao has a high left ankle sprain and will be sidelined until after the All Star Break.
The All-Star Game is Feb. 17, so hopefully Varejao will be able to return by the end of February. While he's out, Drew Gooden should offer some solid fantasy value. Varejao was hurt in Sunday's game against the Lakers when he stepped on Sasha Vujacic's foot. Jan. 30 - 12:20 am et

Milwaukee will be without Redd.

The Hairless Wonder (Charlie Villanueva) is probable

Philly lost @ home to the Bucks earlier this month. Bucks are playing their 5th in 7 and 7th in 10 while Philly had 3 days off. It is a large spread though...

Really like the Hornets tomorrow. Warriors can't seem to stay in rhythm and stay ahead of games. The Hornets are on fire and I can't see the Warriors being the team that shuts them down.

NO -8.5, ORL -12, TOR -5, and Utah -12.5 look good right now. Could be a chalky day for me tomorrow but the Bucks and Hawks could be possible plays for me as well...Am I missing something in this Hornets game though???

miami without wade and haslem will be very very bad

toronto looks good to me tomorrow, butler did not make the trip again, this time toronto will want the game more and the wiz have a horrible road record

not sure about the warrior-hornets gameside line, like the hornets but not going to lay that much against the warriors, over looks appealing though

cavs are hot, don't know how they adjust w/o varejao, line looks fishy, leaning blazers

jazz should win big against the knicks, line is high though

little kitties are playing better, but i like the kings in arco, line is off i think, kings should be -7.5/-8

I'm looking at Hornets 1Q. GS scored 18 last night in Houston, and I can see them being lethargic again tonight to start the game. It was said above, I wonder if GS can play 48 min of quality ball. I'd look into Hornets 4Q too, but I think the 4Q may be catch up time for the Warriors if the Hornets are waxing them thru 3Q's.

Totals I like

Phil/Milk U

Orland/Mia O if wade and haslem dont play Orlando could easily put up 120, so all Miami has to do is score 80

NO/GSW O 214 its NO/GSW nuff said

Clev/Port U 185, first team to 90 wins that one

So Wade and Haslem are both confirmed OUT. Neither made the flight. Their starters tonight will be J. Will (could even see him sitting it out) Dorell Wright, Mark Blount, Daequan Cook, and Luke Jackson with Quinn, Barron and A. Johnson off the bench. I suppose they can score 80, but I certainly wouldn't touch the over myself. Hard to ever count on an over in a blowout and it's extremely painful to watch your bet go down that way.

One last thought about the Heat.

Ricky Davis was questionable with back spasms against the C's and now he's going to play a B2B with a short flight in between. Can't say that's a good recipe for success. Daequan Cook also fits into this mold as he has been limited by the flu and was 0 for 6 against the C's. Now a B2B with increased minutes? Not really sure how the Heat score at all today.

Hey Picks thanks for your thoughts...question for you. About a month ago Wade/Shaq were both on the sideline, and I believe they played Phil/Wash not sure...but I know they were a big dog, and almost won that game.. I think the total was set in the 190's. I dont have access to it, but with Ricky Avis, Quin, and Jwill I can see alot of running w/no D...Only question is can they shoot 40-45%...

Marlo--It was January 4th against Dallas. Haslem did play in that game and shot 6-10 for 16 points and he'll be out today. Looking at the box score you can easily see the Mavericks took the Heat lightly in the first half as they thought they'd have a breeze of a game. The key stats to look at are the 2nd half #'s where the Heat only scored 33 points.

The main difference between this game and that game is that the Heat have gone 1-10 since that Dallas loss and I'd guess the physche of the team isn't the same as it was in Dallas. It was the first game of a big road trip that the team openly talked about going 3-2 or 4-1 on to jumpstart their season. We all know the rest of the details. Beyond that this is a B2B with multiple players out and the players that are in also having their own ailments.

If you decide to take the over I'd limit it to the 1st half personally, but it's your call in the end. Good luck with what you decide.

EDIT: From Dallas's perspective that game also followed their ass-kicking of GSW, the teams personal nemisis, which even further explains Miami's successful 1st half w/out Wade and O'Neal.

Thanks for getting that information, and I remember watching that game (just couldnt think of the team they were playing) it was 53-50 or something like that in favor of the Heat in the 1st half.

My intial lean was to the O, but in all likely hood I will lay off entirely.

Without Varejo I couldnt play or recommend Cleveland. They just ahve no size off the bench now. Which doesnt hurt when your playing a fast paced game like vs Pho , Wash or LAL. I still think Portland is severly overrated. They have some nice wins at home vs teams who limped in or where in a funk like Utah and GSW. The most part they needed to prove themselves after there homestand I didnt see much. They lost @ Utah and needed OT to win @ Chicago. There recent tri was 3-4 beating NJ and Miami who are terrible and ATL by 2 in OT. They lost @ Boston , Orlando , NO and Toronto. With only a chance at winning vs Toronto. They come home and look terrible vs Houston and Atlanta..

So yeah they can beat the mid level teams but I dont see any wins @ Dallas , @ Pho , @ LAL , @ Det , @ Boston etc to get be excited....

Now again they LUCK out and have Cle with injuries.....They will probably start slow and pull away in teh 2nd H like they usually do.....

Miami is dressing about 5 players tonight.....

Toronto had 3 days rest before yesterday and Moon and Barganani played 20 minutes. Wash now has played consecutive OT games and is w/o Butler again playing 3rd in 4 days....Terrible spot IMO....but alot of points under -10 I would lay it not sure at 10 or above....also remember how terribel Wiz have looked last 3 away.....

Bucks minus Redd and Philly minus consistency...Again Milw on the road just not interesting...

Not sure if Melo goes. If he doesnt cant lay road chalk with Denver. If he does well Memphis has been TERRIBLE of late playing good teams who are well above 500....maybe an over but215 is alot......

Bulls owned the glass last evening and Minny couldnty make a jumper...not suprising what happened....lean Wolves but 4.5 is pricey.....

NYK could be gassed after games @ GSW and choking it away vs LAL last evening. Jazz seem to be clicking now....

After watching Char play @ LAC the one total that interests me is this OVER 206. Artest the only guy who plays defense on Sac could see some limited minutes due to a foot issue. Char didnt seem interested in defense two nigts ago..Why lay 7 here unless Felton sits then scratch the over..

Hawks for sure if LAC is minus Maggette and Kaman again. Minutes were limited yesterday as Suns blew them out ALL NITE LONG!

Why fade NO at this point?? GSW off a tough attempted comeback in Houston just not playing good ball of late IMo.....

Basically this card sucks!!!!!!:36_11_6:

FINAL THOUGHTS ATS

Miami / Orl : Why touch this game? JWill , Davis , Wright , Jackson and Blount. Barron , A.Johnson , Quinn and Cook is your roster . Pretty solid NCAA lineup! Key player here is Luke Jackson cause he was awful when he first signed but in garbage time he looked like a playa yesterday. Blount has played well recently. Williams and Ricky Davis are probably salivating at the opportunity to throw up 20 + shots tonight. Quinn and Cook can play alot better then last nte. If ORL has any interest they should win by 30. I doubt they have any interest its human nature. Like the saying dont take it easy cause thats how you get hurt. Some reason the more I look at the more I think this is played like an exhibition game with a TON of scoring and 12-15 ORL win rather then 30 cause eventually ORL will clear the benches OR Miami could start fast like @ Dallas and fade. Though you could have Miami just atrocious on offense as well. I have played MANY UNDERS with injuries lately but with somany I refrain here ....

Raps -10 -120 . I like this play. First look at Tor L5 home games. Some beatdowns but all ATS wins. 31 vs Milw laying 10.5 , 11 vs ATL laying 6 , 25 vs Sac laying 5.5 , Port 7 laying 5.5 and Phillly 13 laying 8.5..Wash roles in off consecutive OT games with Butler sidelined along with Arenas. Limited bench vs a team with depth even minus Ford. Raps had 3 days rest prior and just 4th game since 1/19. Total is tight I would LEAN undercause I see about 85 points from Wash here 102-86....

Milw / Philly : No opinion. Loved NJ last night and Philly has incentive but 9 pts is crazy. There has to be some other MILW injuries we dont know about. Sixers should win here but by how many?? Milw is beyond terrible on the road and Milw won w/o Redd last meting in Philly as the Sixers returned from there road trip fiasco...

Den / Memphis : Melo is gametime decision. Heres my problem I dont like to back teams with returning stars in there first game though Melo's absence has been short. The other is Memphis terrible play at home facing quality teams lately. its been blowout after blowout . Camby supoosedly fucked up his knee on SUnday and looked terrible on Monday . Now 3rd in 4 for the Nuggets away...Simply put one of those spots were if memphis plays well they can easily steal one.....only thing worth considering is the OVER 216 IMo....

Hornets -8 : This could get ugly. No hotter team the NO right now. GSW playing B2B were they expended alot of energy IMO. There play since there successful road trip has been lackluster IMO...losing to Minny , squeaking by NJN and NYK, before aflling @ Houston. Baron Davis was terrible last nite and although he is coming home I dont expect a bounce back effort. last 2 14 of 43 logging 40+ minutes in both playing 3rd in 4 days. GSW rotation seems out of whack and Harrington bruised his forearm last nite. Could be nothing or could be something. Hope for a chance to playthe 2nd H under....Over is to high IMO cause NO gets stops and I dontthink GSW cracks 100..

Wolves get another crack @ Chicago. Do like Wolves here just not crazy about laying 4.5 points. The differences last nite where Chi rebounding edge and 3 pt shooting 5/10 vs 1/14! Minny 0-10 SU on B2Bs and are favored! Bulls are banged up and you justdont know what to expect...pass for certain!

Havent finished the 9 or 10 pm games. So looking like just Toronto and NO.

Can't remember the stat of the top of my head but if I remember right the Raptors have only won 1 game all year at home where they didn't cover ATS and most of those victories have been by 10+.
