Boy, I am absolutely cold. Since I don't BS, lately I've been getting sucked into the sucker bets. I like the + on Hernandez and Seattle tommorrow, anyone else agree or disagree?

^^Don't trust the mariner offense enough to back hernandez vs marcum, but BOL if you play it.

Do not know it for a fact ... but you would think that the mariners and blue jays are resting some players with that early of a start. two studs on the mound. smells like an under. fletcher is a good umpire. pretty neutral.

reads well, except Hernandez has a terror of an under streak going (10 straight), and Seattle has started to give him some run support (19 runs last 4 games, after 5 runs the 4 before that). Beware the popular under (and it will surely be here - nearly 2:1 fav at wagerline this early).

Day games :

Just about everything outside of SP matchup points to Toronto.

Day games 7-13 Seattle or Jays 15-5 .

Home team? Mariners won 2 road games in only 2 series all year one a two game set @ Oakland and another early series vs TB so of 10 series of 3 games or more just once has SEA won 2 games. Last year the home team won 8 of 9 in both 2006 ,07 and 08 the Mariners won the 1st game in Tor before in falling the others although the 2nd meeting in 2007 Tor swept it .

Game 3's Tor 12-7 vs Seatle 6-13 and Jays 8-2 after a win.

Marcum ? .156 BAA vs RHB , .178BAA at home

Filthy on 5 days :

Basically it avgs 7.5 innings and 1.5 runnings allowed with a CG for Jays pen is fully rested. Last year Marcum was tougher on 5 days rest and while his day splits tend to be worse his achilles in 2007 was really 13 Hrs allowed in day starts.

King Felix is finding his groove of late but I think he last start @ Boston was much different then vs Det because he went just 6 innings and 106 pitches despite good results. Better results slightly in day games and with 5 days rest. Like the .223 vs RHBs.

Neither lineup hitting well But Mariners havent done much at all lately outside of beating up Colon the 2nd time they saw him.

Interested in Mariners pen and who is available .

Really doesnt seem like much offense here especially considering Fletcher is behind the dish and the 12:37 start probably helps create a get out of town fast enviroment as SEA heads home. Mariners pen scares me some ...

On paper thinking Under and Jays depending on what the price does....

The other game:

Lets see 2 STUD SP throwing well but Kaz has never pitched before @ LAA.

LAA is 12-2 vs LHSP .

Vlad is heating up lately and really Longoria is swinging the best for TB. Lackey has allowed 2 runs or less in 7 straight starts at home vs TB and the pen has recieved some rest . Hopefully Matthews can play.

LAckey has pitched well and won 4 all starts with Cousins behind the dish.

Simply put LAA is better and have the edge facing a LHSP . End of a long road trip for TB as well to Boston to Texas to LAA to TB.

The fact LAA is almost home dogs to TB says it all IMO......

LAA ML...total is dicey wouldnt be suprised to see a 5 spot for LAA....

Some others :

Cueto home vs Looper away on paper says Reds ML

Cubs ML , Astros ML , Col , Det seem interesting:cheers:

Mr Olsen got away w/12 baserunners for only 4 ERs in 5.1 inns at Fenway last season. BOS at home off a loss with the unconvincing Colon? Ump hasn't been unkind to Overs in recent seasons. I have some deeper digging to do.

Marcum like Felix is on 4 days rest. Marcum does not pitch well in the day and the days of the week point heavily to Felix winner wth an umpire who does not seem to care much. The Covers chart however likes Toronto and Marcum does like to win but is only 4-6 last 10 at home versus old men. Felix is 16-10 with a 3.96 era in day games. Marcum is 4-5 with a 5.81 day era. Probably going with the days fairly small. Both pens in good shape but Seattle's playing a little better recently as is Seattle. Not really understandng the homer ump remark. Last 3 yeats with Fletcher the home team is up 3 games.

5 spot in Anaheim? That would surprise me unless Tampa scored it. At home ths season vs semi reasonable lefties we see a 1-0 win vs Rogers, 2-0 vs Smith and Danks and a 6-1 vs Eveland. Kaz is 1 to 2 levels better then them. The days say both teams are garbage but Kaz wins a lot and Lackey struggles. That worries me as would think under the best option here. This is Kaz in form.Same guy who beat Curt 1-0 in Boston and Santana 4-2 in Minn. His team just lost and after a loss their win rate is 63%. Tampa and Kaz are both younger and younger is Good. Kaz in the day 13-7 to Lackey 20-18. Lackey 4-3 last 7 at home 9-6 last 15 is really no that dominate especially on Wednesday and its his first day game this year. Lackey has done well wth ths umpire who is a moderate homer. Thnk a side here is Far too dangerous but lean Tampa and expect 2 pitchers who love duels to have one. Would say if this goes over Tampa wins.

I like SN's analysis on that Jays game. I'm also looking at the Jays or nothing. Anyone know if the roof will be open?

And the late game reads Tampa or pass, but I'm leaning towards a pass at this stage....

Thanks Hockey.... Its tough to find a good reason to bet the over, but something is telling me to play it......

Adding Lincecum 1 unit split game minus 9 cents and first half minus 14. Jimenez got a win last game. First one in 10 games I think so he should be winning another one soon. I am opting for later. Third time vs Colorado this year for Lincecum and his last game in Colorado was far from easy so why play? Last time he was coming off 105 pitches.. The time before 121. He is coming off 83 in this game and his recent form superb. Its not a democracy. CoLorado tomorrow can look forward to going with a starter who is 3-0 at home. Lincecum in his last 7 games has been getting about 6.5 runs in support a game. This will be a struggle but the best relief pitchers have been rested for SF and I expect they will win. I was concerned by his only start with this ump but on examination he had 1 walk and 6 K's with him so not seeing any negative. Just a cheap battle with good chances of winning.

Really disappointed I didn't see the spot to fade cincy last night...

off an eight game roadie in philly and s fla w/ no off day on the trip of after it....got in about 4am w/ a griffey milestone hangover...STL had been in cincy since Sun night...

STL had killed Bailey last year...I know it was the Boggs kids debut that worried me but w/ Tuckers result Sat against cincy in a debut, shouldn't have been that worriesome..

Anways...no Pujols tonight and prolly for a long time...looked like he tore that calf muscle the way he went down, rolled around and put zero weight on it going off....somber mood for Cards..

Much better spot for Cincy...Ceuto was brutalized by STL in April in a start he didn't make it out of the second...it was all control issues...only one walk but was behind 2-0 basically every batter and was wild in the zone that game..was beginning of a five game stretch that's skewed his numbers a bit...since that has gotten back to .500 from 2-5..he's been much better as of late, esp at home all year...

His home/away splits are very different..he's much better at home strangely enough w/ the bandbox..

Looper has been blessed w. alot of home starts this year and his number still aren't that great...8 home starts to 4 road starts..

Only thing that really bothers me is Hairston injury w/ no Kepp back till later in the week...Hitting Bruce in the one hole and bogging down the 2 hole w/ Janish bothers me a bit...

But Reds across the board for me tonight.

I am loving the tigers tonight....but for some reason thats the only game that is sticking out to me....anybody else have a really strong play....last night I was all about taking Lincecum but he won a couple sucker lines already....so he might lose this one...

Had a doctors appt so was prepared to miss playing Toronto ML ( and leaned under ) but hoped I could get back it time. Not suprising missed my a few minutes . Didnt want to force with out see anything relevant such as lineups , price , etc . Silly book doesnt have lines up at 8:45 AM when I left. So here is my thought process.

Anyway Marcum is another young SP whose splits have to be looked at more year over year . I would agree that so far the daytime is not his best area for performance. However I think the numbers paint an inaccurate picture .

This year only 3 starts in the day . One was @ Philly bad 1st inning the rain came and he didnt return so that really skews some numbers. The other two starts were very early on vs Det which he doesnt have the greatest line 5.2 inn 5h 5r 4er 4bb 2k but all of the runs came in the 2nd inning minus a solo Hr by Renteria . If you look at the play by play its possible the entire inning never would have happened . He did walk the leadoff hitter by Jacque Jones hit a groundball to SS Eckstein that was an Error. Technically were are not supposed to assume DP's but if he makes chances are none out 2 out . Instead 1st and 2nd no out w/o a hit and Renteria and Rayburn follow with singles , sac fly , another walk , then single .....awfully big INNING for 3 singles and despite 3 walks onl one to the first 5 batters of the inning . His other day start vs KC at home real solid. Something like 7.1 Inn 5H 2r 1 er 1bb 6ks.

So really the day persay doesnt seem to offer a disadvantage . Last year he probably pitched better in day games but the stats doesnt show it .

ERA 4.70 WHIP 1.29 BAA .240 compared to Night ERA 3.84 WHIP 1.22 and BAA .253

The two huge differences were he allowed 13 Hrs in 53 DAY innings . As to 14 Hrs in 103 Night Innings . Also clouding the picture only 9 starts but 5 relief appearances. When we look at the 2006 ENORMOUS difference in splits there was also a wide gap between home and away performance just like Day/ Night splits . So I ask myself then is the day struggles really just a young pitcher struggling to pitch on the road . Really when you take a step back that's what it does look like IMO as well as kid who prefers to start the relieve. .

So basically my opinion was this Marcum has been outsanding at home , real good his last 2 starts and didnt recieve wins and situational tough spot for SEA with a 12:37 start . Hernandez wasnt very sharp for allowing no runs in 6 innings last effort . Seattle has not scored much at all the past 10 games outside of Colon the 2nd time. They had 3 vs Wake , 1 vs Masterson , 3 vs McGowan which a 2 run Hr produced the 1st 2 runs only 2 batters deep into the game and just 1 yesterday wasting many attempts . While it appears the pen for Tor is struggling much of it was BJ Ryan who had a terrible week blowing 3 games . I am not sure I would trust Putz anymore then Ryan after his team took a 3-2 lead on Monday only for him to load the bases but luckily get a DP and escape . The rest of the middle relievers are not that trustworthy maybe Green to some degree and Morrows but believe he was out or questionable heading into this. So that and with SEA track roecord both in Tor and on the road in 2008 didnt seem that SEA had an plus other then King Felix dealing and basically he needed to guarnatee a shutout for me to see value in them. If the Mariners keep scoring 1 or 2 even 3 runs they make it tough on themselves to win games IMO.....:shake:

Just my opinion for future reference on Marcum...

The problem with looking at previous LAA games vs LHP is this . Vlad was not hitting . When your 3 or 4 hitter is basically an automatic out your production is going to be minimal especially when they coincide with other injuries . Vlad is hitting past few days like the Vlad of old. TB really doesnt have a bat to match that although Longoria has stepped it up this series. VLAD last 3 years vs LHP 321 , 401 , 313.

Lackey is 8-1 in 10 starts vs TB in his career with a 2.35 ERA , 1.03 WHIP .219BAA and 1.38 ERA in 7 starts at LAA.

Lackey in the day was not good in 2007 a complete reversal of 2006 . In 2005 he was basically neutral but the slightest of bits stronger at night .

vs Lackey minor success:
Bartlett 4-10 2 triples
Crawford 10-27 (strong numbers)
Floyd 2-3 ? in 2005 career year 34 Hrs 98 Rbi? (so far 179 away)
Hinske 1 -13
Iwamura 1-4
Navarro 2-12
Upton 1-10

Lackey's 1st day start of the year but also Kazmir's 1st start ever @ LAA . Lackey better on 5 days rest last season but would seem to indicate other seasons he preferred 6 days .

Kaz's splits change from year which is likely happen to a younger SP. So tough to weigh much of anything . Day ERA was over 4 last year and generally he is much better at home but capable of great starts on the road. The possibility of high pitch counts is a problem with him . So prefer LAA pen to TB especially when your taking Kazmir to JPHowell ...

Basically the end of a long trip as well from Boston to Texas to LAA back to TB. While LAA stays home.

LAA vs LHP.271 AVG , .338 OBP , and 4.1 runs but have to like that there staff has allowed just 2.7runs in those 14 games (4.2 per normally). Big indicator is the OBP @ .338 in those 14 games its 22 points higher then the season number of .316 . So they get MOB vs the LHSP but they havent been able to drive them in.

In the day LAA hits well @ 5.2 runs per .265 and .336 OPS though the pitching hasnt held up as well 4.6 runs per game . TB is 4.5 .259 .325 which is slightily weaker then 4.6 .263 .332 OBP and its now minus Pena a key bat vs RHP.

Just see LAA having all the edges here . SP at worst is even , bullpen LAA , lineup LAA ..home field , travel , etc IMO and price -115 ish for them at home .

TB offense away .255 .317 OBP and 4.9 runs to overall .263 .332 and 4.6 runs so production up on avg but not overall looking at avg and obp . Pitching TB allows 5.1 runs away compared to 4.2 overall which means home they are allowing about 3.3 runs so wide gap in runs allowed home and away .

Most noteable in the pen :

Pretty clear 51 runs allowed in 94.2 inn away compared to 24 earned in 97.1 at home.

I love Kaz and think he is one of the hottest SP in baseball but then again who doesnt . I expected Lackey to regress abit @ Oakland and he didnt so that sort of showed me that his numbers were for real.

vs LHP:
Itzuris 297 starting to heat up lately
Hunter 296 but no run production with just 2rbi so far
Kendrick .294 only 17 abs ,325 last year and 417 career vs TB pitching
Matthews 280 if he can play and was 4-4 on Monday
Vlad only 250 , we saw the last 3 years vs LHP and heating up
Kotchman 417 vs LH but this is not your avg LH in Kaz but his chances are better then most.
Quinlan 333

Rivera over Anderson ?
Napoli over Mathis ? Napoli was 291 vs LHP last year but neither doing much so far.

Key TB hitters :
Iwamura .247 away 313 OBP
Crawford .227 .away262 OBP

Gross , Hinske , Riggins , bartlett basically 250's to 260's away so far .

Upton 295 , Longoria 290 and Aybar 286 in 37 abs...

LAA just faced 3 LHP away 15 innings 23 hits 13runs 12 earned 9BBs 8 Ks
G. Smith (6.1) , Bedard(3.1) and Washburn(5.1)

So what they are doing for me outweighs other starts earlier in the year . Previous to tha faced just 5 opposing LH in May and actually Danks twice , Kaz @ TB, Rogers who is pitching real well lately and Buerhle who was roughed up....They did struggle in April vs LH but that was a bunch of games back as well....

Playing : LAA and LAA -1.5 more on the ML. Not sure about the total thinking and hoping for 2 TB runs and see at least 4 from LAA which doesnt all have to come from Kaz but think he gets nicked up here some if the lineup is right and off a mound he is unfamiliar with.....:shake:

Good post like REDS ML myself . Said part is I said the samething about Cincy being in a hangover spot yesterday with trip and Jr hoopla and played them because of the young opposing SP ...stupid , stupid move ...had the right answer at the tip of my tongue and fucked it up...GL

2 minor suprises @ LAA :

Tb starts Navarro which is a plus for there offense as he has there best day avg well above 300. Willits starts for LAA only 1-7 vs LHP so far but .333 (last year but then again he is 0-14 in June and hitting .188 )
In 07 was 42-126 but all singles as just 6 doubles....

Makes me lean over more an pissed I didnt play it at 7-105 now its 7-120...

LAA ML and RL so far BOL !

LAA for sure. TB offense is flat and they get dominated by quality righties. LAA has a lot of bat speed and should get at least a couple off of kaz. I really think kendrick is a huge plus for this lineup. The guy always gives you a quality AB.

MOTHER...you know the rest. Scared money makes No Money, after getting raped by the Mets and Lakers yesterday, the only play besides Detroit I like today is Seattle and I don't touch it. Unbelievable. I'm -$950 at the book right now after being up 2400. I've never been on such a bad streak. If anyone in the next few days has a SOLID play, would you mind PMing me and letting me know, it's to a point that I can't trust my own team or picks anymore. I've been total :36_11_2:

TB/LAA Under 3.5 1st 5 for me. Not screwing with bullpens or dumbass managerial decisions at the end of games.

Good Luck here ...still think there are runs scored here and I hope its the TB pen that implodes ..

Have some over but nothing 1st 5 ML....interested to see how Kaz bounces back after the season high in pitches in Texas of all places...only 70 though nice weather ...

I know your pain bro my frustration is at all time high . I actually saved some dough by not forcing Tor w/o seeing the lineups but it was minor because I did like the under as well.

Also I know how its tough to take dogs when you are down and well everything as you says becomes scared . No truer statement ......

Like just now I was scared to take TB scores 1st when it seemed to be an easy call because I liked LAA ML and played LAA ML.....

Sometimes a day off is the best thing to do. Just to let the frustration and aggravation go. I told you I hate the Mutts ....killed me 3 straight times but none worse then Sunday....Randolph just continues to prove his incompetance by pulling Maine after 5 innings . Granted he wasnt sharp and needed 101 pitches but he is better alternative then Vargas . Let him battle through 6 and see what his pitch count is . Instead GASOLINE ....dont even get me started:shake: Wish ya all the Good Luck !!!!!!

I think we all know who I like tonight...snake charmer that I am

Hard to not like them . That was so painful and basically went away with 3major plays looking good (and one ehh) Pitt ML , KC ML and NYM ML all turn to POOP.

Usually I have a thing about teams coming home after bad trips I like to play them in Game 1 or 2. Sometimes I pass on Game 1 as to see what happens when I still dont like something and drop it hard on game 2 if I am lucky ennough to be right . I have to really look at this game ...

Pretty simple what happens. Mets bounce back after two disgusting LOSSES or after 3 HARD losses by the bullpen do they just fall apart at the seems. Almost want to give them a pass on the game yesterday cause didnt the guy HR right after play resumed ?

Still say Zona cant RHP ..

I cant fade NY at this point . Once you stop flopping sides you get real messed up . So for me I think NY has a chance or I sit back and hope for you guys ..

Thanks alot SN. no doubt Willie has to go, he has proved himself to be a complete moron. What's crazy is the line for tonight's game Webb -130 or so, against Pelfrey? Pelfrey is horrible, his fastball is straight and flat, and is other pitches are abysmal. Not to mention Webb has to be the leading candidate for the Cy-Young along with Volquez. D-Backs are at a cheap price tonight. Either way I think I will go with Johan tommorrow, based on what happens tonight, it probably won't be too expensive either with Haren on the other side.

I will be keeping in touch with you SN, you seem to read the F'n Mets very well. :tiphat:

Something I am thinking about. Cardinals play at home next vs Phillies. They are 3-7 last 10 vs them. Wainwrght got all 3 wins.

wow, anyone watching the angels game... this is why the homer angel is important. cousins called a really close strike a ball against willits, then called another ball that scaraped over the plate to give him a base. Then izturis hit the 2r single... Maddon got tossed, but dont blame him.

anyone got thoughts on boston tonight? You gotta think that they come back strong against a loss like yesterday. Colon's 2nd time facing balti. The only other team to face him twice this year was the M's and lit him up pretty bad in a shutout. That makes me weary. Any other explanations or thoughts?

Happy I caught the breaks in that LAA game although perfection was near had Napoli got Hunter home 5-2 would have genius for me .

Colon seeing teams for a 2nd time huge concern especially with how well BALT is hitting . One difference is vs SEA he was real good the 1st time so I like his chances of regressing . Here since he was medicore the 1st time it could go either way ...regress or improve. With how Balt hit though prefer chances of regression...checking this game now...:shake:

another game im looking at is pitt. Lannan pitching really well at first glance but is getting shit for run support. Snell is also a completely different pitcher at home this year. Yeah, the senators hit last night, but that was against a regressing redding that has been prone to the long ball for that last 5 or so starts. I'd say it's close to a must win for pitt as their ace is on the mound and off an embarrassing comeback loss.
