I think there are 2 specific situations that should be acted on. I believe you should make bets on the Astros and the Reds in both games. We have a coach and a GM fired and Justice in the Houston paper that the new coach is perfect. Woody has even been playing well as a bonus. We have a team playing super trying to burn their way into the playoffs. Do not sweat the small stuff just ride them. Have played Astros and the Arroyo game and am hoping the number goes up in the first Reds game but regardless will be on the Reds in both games. GL

In keeping with your Reds thoughts, I can't recall the Pirates putting in a longer stretch of performing (post AS break) over the last few seasons. For a team playing for nothing, I have to wonder when their tank is going to run dry.

It started at home vs STL, Game 2 on 8/01: thats 25 games for
- 16 wins
- 3 losses by 1 run
- 3 losses of 2-3 runs
- 3 losses of 4 or more runs (4, 7 & 9)

To put that in perspective, in their preceding 25 games, they had
- 8 wins
- 4 losses by 1 run
- 4 losses by 2-3 runs
- 9 losses by 4 or more runs
...half as many wins, and all but twice as many losses.

Since they began their road trip at Arizona on 8/07, they played non-stop right up until Sunday (which incl. a double header) - 21 games in 20 days. Back at home off a longish road trip combined with their 1st break in 3 weeks, then immediately leaping into a double-header vs a buzzing reds team, I struggle to see the Reds getting swept in this series.

Vegas - thats not quite the case. I've spent probably 15-30 minutes as a totality/day (except when I've involved myself in some in-games) on that site consistently since I left there for here. However, my posting during those periods has been more frequent in recent times, so it would generate the 'illusion' to anyone paying any attention that I'm - as you said - spending more time there, when the case is I'm really only posting more in the usual time I've always been spending there. There are still a few good reasons to bother with that place. Half of them being spelt M-r-B-a-t-o-r

some info on the ump crew in pitt; according to the broadcast on STO last night, hirschbeck and his boys will be heading into pitt FYI.

Very likely that I play baltimore rl for at least a unit today. Cabrera is the ultimate flip-flop pitcher and he is set for his good game. After this game Baltimore will be looking at Shields and Kaz.

Spiro just came out with the Braves line (-169/+149) w/ the O/U at 10 minus 20c for the under. Liking the under with Eddings and surely some rest for some of the ATL players.

I like the Under in Gm2 of Reds/Pirates; the lineups will be worn, and I still have some faith in Maholm and Arroyo.

Some reasonably priced faves: Astros & Mariners
Some live dogs: Royals & Blue Jays

I'm staying away from the Red Sox/Yankees series...

Don't know why they took out Arroyo after 80 pitches, but now the Reds pen is in and the sweep looking likely for the Pirates

xpression, only a sweep of today, not the series. Since I bet neither today, I'd love to see PIT win, given they face Harang tomorrow with the 1-5-3 last 9 Snell going (he the 4-13 loser to the Reds at home on 8/03)
